An old school cache we had looked for a while so a trip down south and a detour had is close. Came in the from south side over the railway and was left with a few hundred meters walk as did have a serious 4x4 as the hill is well rutted. Great to see the old container. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
This cache has been on our radar for quite some time. Today was the day and it all went without a hitch. Great to see an original cache container and log still in place. A fave point from us.
Headed out for a days caching towards the Collie area with a couple of 2001 listed 4x4 caches high on the agenda. C10 and I set off from Cockburn and made our way down South Western Highway towards Pinjarra where we metup with RebelJamie (who won’t log these finds) to grab a bunch of caches for the day.
One of the main goals for the day. We took some tracks and managed to walk in from 600m away, we did get into a good track in the end which would take you right next to the cache, but didn’t walk it back to find it.
Great to see the original logbook still in tact and going strong. Add FP.

Thanks nissan for placing and maintaining this cache. Out and about with Barnzy12 getting a few smily faces.
This was one of 2 caches That were the main attraction for today’s caching trip. Great to get this one of the map, the heat today made the reward even sweater and glad I had the fridge running in the boot!

We have had this cache on our to-do list for sometime now & with spare day on our hands, we planned for a day of adventure around this neck of the woods
Despite the logs saying that they parked up next to this one, we decided to play it safe & follow a bike track from around 600m from the cache... Who knows where the previous finders had come from cause the way we went was definately only good for bikes & maybe quads
Nevertheless, we had a great adventure & an awesome day out in the bush... Would heaps rather find a cache like this than 50 caches in the burbs [^]
Thanks Nissan! Cache was in great condition & had some great memorabilia inside... The original hiding spot has caved in, so we relocated on the lower side but still under the stump

Well, our little Geokid's 3rd birthday, and he wanted to go treasure hunting, so we plugged in four caches nearby, and set off with the mindset we would do a few quick caches and return home... an idea which would soon end up being an epic trip for four caches.
This was the last one on the list. Having found "Munda Biddi...21", a DNF at "Big Tree not so little cache" and bogging the Geotruck getting to "Delica down" we were a bit apprehensive as to how to get to this cache.
We approached via a nanny goat track from the north west that put more pinstriping on the geotruck than I want to think about... it's going to take many hours of cutting and polishing to get them out (haha). There were big ruts, bog holes, trees across the track (and a new scar on my leg from a rather sharp and stubborn branch) and I think my teeth are a few mils shorter, as I was grinding them listening to the 'screeeeee' of branches going down my paintwork.
Meanwhile, both kids decided it was a good time to have a nap and went to sleep in their seats. WTF!?
Eventually, after what seemed like an age, we parked up next to the GZ a mere 4 meters from the cache... the kids roused from slumber, swapped a few trinkets, signed the log and piled back into the geotruck.
We decided we'd have a go at heading south, past the AFL series (which we've already done) thinking that it was downhill and should be manageable. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE. Just to the south of the GZ, the track has ruts more than a meter deep. Nothing short of a comp truck (with someone driving who likes fixing things) is going to get up or down this.
So a U turn it was, and baaaaack up the nanny goat track we went.
Popping out onto the road, we started making our way (now a fair bit quicker) eastwards towards home. A brilliant suggestion by the geowife to then turn down a track to head south "a shortcut to the road", ended up taking us on a loop through even more scratchy, close, horrible terrain.
EVENTUALLY, fed up, tired, and the geotruck completely scratched and carrying half a ton of vegetation stuck to just about everywhere, we popped out onto Gastaldo Rd and headed home for a beer.
Wow. What an adventure... might be doing a few park n grab caches before we're keen to go into the bush again. Thanks Nissan, it was great to find a cache that had been sitting for so long and that was still in good nick.
Cheers

Thanks for taking me here once again. This is the second try for me getting to this one. The first time was late in the afternoon after doing the afl series. With the light fading and 600 mts of walk through the bush to go I gave it a miss. Today we came in from the same direction and parked at the creek where we had to finish on foot. The first few hundred meters was straight up. After that the walk got easier and cache found at the top to a amazing view.
This cache ended up being some what of an adventure. Firstly, heading down a couple of dead-end tracks. The final track was cut off by a creek line, but we were then only 450 metres from the cache and close enough now to walk. After crossing the creek we went up the embankment and but it didn't get much easer as the hill seemed to just keep going. Eventually made it to GZ. Once there made a easy find.
OMG what a mission!!!! Luckily we got within 400ish mts of the cache but the first 250m was almost straight up, I think my legs will be sore tomorrow

Got to within 1.25klm and with the rain lately and being late in the day and no winch and on our own, decided to park up and leg it in! Unfortunately 1.25klm was as the crow flies and didn't take into account the ups and downs of all the hills, nevertheless the coordinates were spot on and we found it!!! Thanks for a great cache Nissan, loved the adventure, a favourite from us!
decided to hike in from Delica Down glad we did as some tracks were quite extreme 4x4. lots of motor bike trails to follow made the walking easier, cache in great condition thanks for the adventure nissan tftc ps 3km round trip
(Chwiliwr team catch up log)
Chwiliwr had to do a delivery to the south so we decided do some caches along the way and make a day of it.
Took the time to drive off the highway and come and get this cache. No problems with finding this cache.
Thanks nissan for the cache.

Terrain 2.5? OMG, maybe it was when the cache was set but it's a gutbuster now. Honestly it probably would have been easier to walk the last 500m because the track is seriously rutted and almost totally overgrown, but we battled through.
Great to get this old one - will dine out on the adventure for years. Thanks nissan

Happy New Year!!
We may have been pikers last night, but we were up bright and early this morning, anticipating a big day's adventuring out in "them thar hills" south east of Harvey. ~Tango~ had been out this way before on a previous expedition and had warned me that some of the tracks up and down the hills around here were a bit hairy, and we wasn't kidding. Getting out to this one was an adventure in itself, and not for the faint hearted. We can only assume that the track was somewhat easier to negotiate back when the cache was first placed. But it was great to pick up such an old cache.
Thanks nissan

Had a bit of spare time today either side of a short stint at work. Took the Pajero to the south side of the cache (coming in from Coalfields highway). Couple of hundred metre hike to the cache but I couldn't have gotten much closer from that side and the track up the hillside looks like it's only being used by off road bikes now days. 12 months to the day since the last log. TFTC and the exercise.
Was a bit of a mission to get to this one. Track has several trees down further up so it isn't used as often as it would have in the past. You can drive to within 40m of the cache, from the track that runs parallel to the river. But be warned, I had to winch myself up part of the track as it is fairly rutted.
Good to find another one of Al's caches, some of these old tracks would have been good 10 years ago.

Only a couple of hundred meters more and it would have been a simple drive by! I just dont want to look at the scratches on the car tomorrow TFTC
Since this one hasn't been found for 16 months the ground under the log has eroded and started to squash the container.....
Container is now back to it's original shape and safe.

First geocache trip with our club, this was our 3rd cache for the day!
Interesting drive, a couple of tracks that most of us haven't been on before. Much fun!

Was happy to finally get onto a good track down to this one from "Delicia Down". Really didnt think I'd make it for a while. Steep hills & deep ruts, a 4 Wheel Driver's dream out here. Thanks heaps for an excellent cache. Again, its been a long time between finds which makes it all the more special. )
Cache was clean and dry, excellent container.

Excellent drive in but at GZ + 1.4km discretion was the better part of valour for us softroaders. Not enough daylight left for walking, so an additon to the DNF file
Great veiws and adventure.Chased volKayno up hill for both of us to be upstaged by richlink.Great spot more should do this.
Great spot for a cache! Whilst the others managed to get their feet wet, I provided the entertainment by getting my knees wet too. Crossing a creek on a wet slippery log is not a good idea and rather than risk serious injury, I jumped...just not far enough. I can safely say my waterproof boots are not waterproof when knee deep in water. The hike up the hill provided a good cardiac workout however the view was well worth it. Richlink was first to find the cache. Thanks for placing one out here.
This cache hadn't been found for two years (last logged by Silama in Mar 2007) so it was with great satisfaction we were able to log this find. We had a tough walk of over 700 mts through the scrub and through a creek (just about every one got their feet wet - except those wearing gum boots!) but it was well worth the effort. Made the find with Beauges, rjm1 and VolKayno.
Cache in very good order. Thanks for the challenge.

Long time since anyone was here (according to the log) but the cache was in good condition.
Did Not Start, was going to have a look but couldn't find how to get there as the road I thought was it had a 'No Through Road' sign on it even though my map shows it going all the way. Another day, after I get a 4WD.
First of two for the day. Did all the chores around the garden (mowed, weeded etc etc) and then said to the geogrommets let's go geocaching. Wasn't too much of an argument to get them moving after that. Not sure which track Explorer came in on to get so close but we came from the southern side and it was a fairly long walk after on a hot day, especially for the Geogroms (8 & 6 yo). Some great 4 x 4 tracks in this area and the track on southern side is now becoming overgrown. Geogrommet 2 found this one (very proud 6yo)
Just a quick word of warning... if you don't like March flies, don't go this time of year. They were all over us.
T: Snatch Strap bag (lost mine, probably left it on the roof when using it once)
L: Motorbike toy & tennis ball.

This cache is actually only ~25km (as the travel bug fly’s) from my house so don’t know why I haven’t done it before. In an effort to prevent me from getting too carried away with the kids in the car (ie tackling "serious" 4WD country) I took the RAV4 for a drive. I was expecting to walk a bit when confronted by impassable (for a softroader) spots but never actually found any (probably worse in mid winter). There are definitely some challenging tracks in the area – came across a group of diff-locked, raised, MT tyred “serious†offroaders who gave me some strange looks as I emerged from tracks near them on a couple of occasions. Anyway - I managed to drive to within 30 metres of the cache though the track required some clearing of fallen shrubs/trees - still probably not recommended if you don’t like the sound of bush and paintwork combining - though it wasn’t that bad. Doing a 5 point turn to get out was fun also. The car got filled with leaves, flowers and bugs as the children insisted on having their windows open despite the risk of getting their faces slapped by track hugging vegetation. Great little drive and a good cache to visit. Thanks
Cheers

This was always going to be a tough one for me, but the challenge was there. After driving around tracks (all at the bottom of the hill), we parked about 350 mtrs away and walked the rest. The cache was found in good condition, and without trouble. T: a dolphin and a keyring, L: Beachbums melon and one of Team Wombats Wombats. This is a great cache to do, so for those who haven't tried this cache yet, get a move on. Peace and tranquility await you here. Thanks for a great cache and hunt.
B____r, that was hard, but very enjoyable. Hiked in from Beela Road (ie in from SW). First waded the Augustus River, which had plenty of water after recent rains. Got to the cache at 1245 hours. The area has a majestic Scandinavian feel, helped by the pine trees. The GPS did not function well in the valley, but worked fine near the summit. Wow, the views, particularly above the cache. Relied on the GPS as couldnt find the "b.. t.." given in the clue. In fact, after much searching I think fire has made this clue defunct. Just believe in the mighty GPS! Sat and enjoyed the beauty and silence, until interrupted by the roar and screech of the Worsley alumina train heading to the Port of Bunbury.
I note the damage round about by 4 wd, so request that any 4wd geocachers try and walk in the last couple of hundred metres or more. Great for your health and the environment.
T- screwdriver set, L- magnetic picture frame.
Thanks- The Chrisbets (or half of us!)

Third and final for the day, failing light stopped any more playing in the mud
We travelled up and down some of the most rutted and washed out roads we've been down in ages ... Loved it!
Some of the tracks here have been turned into a motocross track complete with mud baths and jumps ... jumps are fun in the 4X4. Unfortunatly the final destination had to be traversed on foot .. 'bugger'
The track leading up the hill to the cache hasn't seen vehicle access in years by the look of it. The creek has washed away most of the track and whats left of it has been taken back by the trees.
Took - 'what else could we take'
Left - Quasimodo, Dolphin and Calling Card
Thanx for a great day out Russell, Allan, Clint and Daniel.

I remember once seeing a joke about men not needing directions or refusing to listen to directions from their Wife! Enough said I think.
Next weekend maybe.

Found this one on the way back from Collie. We came down the Worsley access rd. and then into Mornington Rd. Enjoyed driving around the tracks. We Took the OL Keyring and in keeping with the spirit of the cache left a set of screwdrivers. Also took the Pumpkin on to another cache. We went to Cache No 9 but as the Pumpkin had already been here we decided to take it further afield. Anyone know the Pumpkins history?

Just happened to have this cache in the GPS and was in the area. The gps was saying all over the place and was originally showing the other side of the track. It was a bit cloudy which might explain that.
Started off trying to get there by 4x4 but the tracks where a bit overgrown had a nice 500meter walk to this one.

Northside 4WD Club - found it eventually!! The track was very very overgrown and we were relying on the GPS to get there. Definitely not one to go looking for in your brand new 4WD. We took out a rubber ball and put in the pumpkin from a previous cache along with 50c. The tracks around the area were very wet and slippery - a good challenge.
An interesting 4WD trip to the cache. I think we must have got there via the worst route. The place is a maze of unmapped tracks. We started by going through the 4WD course through the pines. Bad move, went around this bit on the return trip. Found a better track up the hill as we got through the pines and then down a very washed away rutted hill, forded a stream and then after another couple of km pushed our way down an old track that was very overgrown until at around 200 metres we walked the last bit as there were worse trees across the track. Much looking up and down the hillside until I recognised the blaze on the tree and finally found the cache. Did not find any note pad or pen, and as we were a way from the vehicle could not log our visit. Took a switch and left a ball. Enjoyed the 4wd challenge and glad that it was not any wetter or it would be nearly impassable by our route.
