Logs
Shazzar66 and I ventured here during our Pomona area caching Mission. On arriving near to the trail, we noticed another car parked nearby and considered that we might meet another cacher, however the lady in the car got out but didn't follow us to GZ, so we continued on. We were met by one guy on a mountain bike, but apart from that the area was quiet.Arriving at GZ, the cache was quickly found in a logical place, complete with cache guardian, which surprised Shazzar66 as she opened the container. Apart from the cache guardian, everything was in good condition, so the cache was signed, ShaDup, our team caching name. Everything was replaced as found and we continued to the next cache on our list. Thanks, cooroy scouts, for the cache placement, and to dahumbug for keeping this one going for our enjoyment.
Looking for a full day of caching, I packed my car and headed up the coast to camp at Duppers place so we could make an early start. We found somewhere safe to park and made our way to the cache. Happy with a quick find here. Now thats one big did you redo.I found your cache, Cooroora Lookout today.dahumbug, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
After our targeted walk and climb, we hopped back into my car, and then decided to head down the tracks and visit this geocache. We got within a short distance to GZ, and walked the remaining distance only to see another bushwalker/muggle at GZ. It wasn't long until the cache was found, and for the most part, the cache container and logbook were in good shape, however, the container was a little warped, and consequently, the lid didnt really go on. It has been a good eight months since the last find. Thanks cooroy scouts for the cache placement, and [dahumbug](https://coord.info/PR8W6P9) for its ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 07/2007 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 1000 oldest yet active geocaches.----------Today, I joined [stairman1](https://coord.info/PR4R27Z), and we headed north to the Sunshine Coast to Pomona and Mt Boulder.Following coffee in Pomona, we tackled [Serenity On The Mountain](http://coord.info/GC143MH) on the side of Mt Cooroora, and then picked up a few of the oldie geocaches within the area. We then headed north-west to Mothar Mountain Rock Pools in Woondum National Park, and after hiking to Mt Boulder summit, we headed along Boulder Creek tackling a couple of legendary caches [The Chief](http://coord.info/GC17W43) and [Pocohanis](http://coord.info/GC17W46). The weather was ideal and terrific, and company was terrific, thus making it a spectacular final day in winter!
Found with Davidwazza, GreenGecko1and Muggle64. We had just finished a little hill climb and Wazza needed an old cache or two. I have just checked and I need another 8. This will come in handyTFTC
After a heart starting short climb, we went on a drive to collect some older caches for Muggle65. He needs a huge number for a north Brisbane challenge. At our current rate, he will qualify in about 15 years. Beautiful day and some stunning countryside. Thank you for the fun
While up this way we visited serenity mountain and our fearless group of mountaineers swung by this oldie and found the cache. Well I didnt find it, the honours go to David.
Out riding the MTB Noosa trails late this afternoon. Normally do not get a chance to stop with the group but had to wait for the tail rider to catch up giving just enoutime to grab this old time cache.
dahumbug I found your cache Cooroora Lookout on 16/2/2023, 11:45 am. This is my find 4739 and find # 7 today. A quick and easy drive by. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Out caching with the Tough Mothers (Bennyboppers, Misssusan79 and Lisylou). TFTC!
Quick find with bennyboppers, mnance101 and misssusan today. Nice easy stroll, after walking the big hill nearby. Tftc
Legs were getting tired as we have cleared most of the mountainous caches today. Not much of a look out from here, but we got the views from the top of Mt Cooroora.
Another trip up to the Sunshine Coast, found 11 traditional today. One of these caches was the main target for today, I needed it for a challenge cache.
Then I also pick up few oldies to.
I had lots of fun today.
Sorry for the generic log.

This was an easy ride this afternoon on the electric mountain bike.
Such a fun thing to ride.
I just power up firetrails.
This cache was a quick find at the top of one of these hills.
Not so much of a view and my steed doesn't require the post so much these days, but still a nice spot to relax a moment.
Thanks cooroy scouts for showing me somehwere i would never have come otherwise and dahumbug for keeping it alive for us!

1:06:00 PM. Missed the turn off so a quick turn around and off down the track we went. The grandson was out of the car and had it found before we got there. Log signed in a pretty spot. A nice view through the trees of Mt Cooroora. Thanks for the cache dahumbug
*Time to be a leader, a responsible cache owner, a thoughtful person regarding humanity.
Groundspeak or Geocaching HQ have been slow to be on the front foot regarding this matter so its left for us cachers to lead the way*
**"With discussions here about whether or not or it is okay to ignore closures etc to go caching, please let me offer some perspective.
Given the likely death toll from COVID-19 in the USA will be in 6 figures at least (that’s tens of thousands) and more likely in 7 (that’s millions) as well as in 8 figures worldwide (that’s tens of millions), not following restrictions designed to save lives is industrial grade selfish.
So our streaks may have to end.
And our physical caching may have to stop.
Hopefully not too many of our lives will end but some most definitely will. And I am certain around the world some of our caching family have already died.
COVID19 hangs around on surfaces so you don’t even have to physically be in the presence of someone who is positive. Just touching a surface (cache?) they have touched recently and then touching your face will do it.
I really really hope that a “Hail Mary” comes through and we get a vaccine in less than the expected 18 months. But until it is actually here being given to large numbers we are all at risk. And while older people are clearly more at risk young ones are dying too.
As I am sure some of you are wondering about my qualifications to offer this view, please check out my background. Not too hard if you have Google or another search engine. “Dr Bill Griggs” should do it.
Please stay as safe as you can people.
And please follow the rules designed to keep you and all of us safe.**
Cheers to Bill, aka Brad&Janet for the information.
Yours in Caching,
Corey aka dahumbug

A steady walk up from Ferguson Road to find the nice dry cache. Took TB to move along. TFTC
Nice easy stroll in the bush. Lookout spot has bench seat and hitching post but sadly no clear view. Swaps gone rusty as it’s been a while. Tftc!
Replaced container. Happy Caching. Thanks Cooroy Scouts for placing, Brother Colin for Maintaining and allowing me to now take care of this awesome cache.
After completing two nearby caches, geohubby WallabyTim and I figured we had just enough fading afternoon light left to walk into this cache. We had previously mistaken it for being one of the hard caches on top of the mountain, so were pleased when it was a nice walk in with a pretty view looking up at Mt Cooroora. As we looked up, we looked to the future when we are going to challenge ourselves and make the climb. That is an accomplishment in itself but there are two smileys missing on the map that need to be changed. Must...keep...getting...fitter!!! TFTC and the inspiration to keep trekking
Time to go for a stroll.. this was one of 3 caches found today. Like previous finder said. Cache container is broken but logbook was still in good condition. Unfortunately on foot so no replacement on board. Happy to replace container if CO wishes. Just send me a PM.. otherwise. All good here. Tftc!!
#4292 [12:16] we have driven here, but forgot to look at views but the mount is so dominant that we had enjoyed the view all the way here from highway and driving around... found easily, i took gc. thanks!
Mr Just a Trifle was out for another day of caching with ViKoCZ to pick up a few target caches to help with various challenges. The first cache for the day was Serenity on the Mountain, and depending on how it went, that would determine how many other caches would be found for the day. We were lucky for the rain to have had held off until after that cache was completed, but in reality, there were only just a few short sprinkles while we were driving down the highway.
After taking in the serenity on the mounain we drove to Cooroora Lookout, enjoying the views as we went. The cache was easily located and with our names added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you Cooroy Scouts for having placed the cache and Brother Colin for adopting it and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy.

nice hide all in good condition we took tb and left tb also took the quarts and left a carved stone rhino. thanks for the cache. sl found with gomoo
Found it. Love this cache site. Dropped off two trackables to enjoy the view. All is well at this site today, though cache lid is damaged. Thankyou.
A nice quiet walk after the crowds at Mt Cooroora. A very big didgeridoo was found
Drove right up to GZ and then wondered if we should have driven up here or walked. Nice quick find. TFTC Brother Colin
We had travelled to Pomona today with a view to finding a few caches whilst a small engine was being fixed at Cooroy.
This was the third cache on the list.
The hardest part about this cache is finding a track that leads to it but once that was done, this caching experience became more enjoyable.
We had found a suitable safe spot to park the motor vehicle and as it is only a 2WD Sedan, we thought it may be betting walking to the cache.
As mentioned above, finding a track was difficult but once this was achieved a nice walk to GZ was taken.
At GZ and with the help of the hint, it was not long before the cache was in hand. It is obvious that this cache does not have too many finders. The container is starting to show it age but everything was OK in side,
It is very hard to get a decent look at the mountain from here as it is partially blocked by the trees but there are other places that provide a good view.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache returned exactly as found.
Find #351.
TFTC ***Cooroy Scouts*** and to ***Brother Colin*** for keeping it alive.

Thanks! I will never get tired of looking at that monoloth! Another qld find for this Tasmanian
Out with the troops 4WDing for the day and this one showed up. Once we got on the correct road we were able to drive almost to GZ. There were no signs to say otherwise. After signing the log we all posed for the obligatory photo at the lookout. TFTC BC.
This was the last cache for the day whilst out with some of my closest geocaching friends finishing my DT grid and grabbing a few extra caches. Our navigator kept missing the right road and eventually we got it right. At GZ we set about looking for the cache and it was found within a few moments of being at GZ. With my name in the final cache for the day I was able to relax in my seat and have a nap on the way home. Thanks for the cache Brother Colin.
The last one for the day and it was a quick find as it was exposed. Added some more cover then headed over for a group photo. The view wasn't the best here but found a little wander up the road and you can get a better view.
Thanks cooroy scouts and brother colin
Thanks cooroy scouts and brother colin
Yay! Got to use the car here straight to GZ. Even got some mud on it from the puddle at the bottom of the hill. A nice quick find. Cache was found safe and dry. TFTC, cooroy scouts and Brother Colin.
Parked at the intersection of kellehers road and walked on the track 400mt. You can also drive till there. Easily found. TFTC!!
Went tracking with austrees, flarefoot, and bogannuts. Day after 300mm plus of rain, foggy as anything, certainly did not live up to its name as a lookout. Only because it is a National Park prevented it being a drive by.
TFTC. Bogunnut had his first find. Look forward to seeing the view on a clear day.
out for our sat morn MTB ride and picked this one up on the way home. thanks ! cheers, Andy
On a day trip north to do check on a few of my caches.
This on is dry and good to go.
Happy hunting.
This on is dry and good to go.
Happy hunting.
Road tripping again!!! Woohoo! This time it's a maintenance run with Brother Colin and I'll very happily log a find on the two of his caches I haven't done yet as we go by The mountain kept catching my eye as we drove closer to this cache. I really have to climb that one day... No walk to this one for me, as BC took his car right up to it [^] TFTC, BC.
TFTC it was a fun find . Great view and nice walk...it's uphill so don't forget your water bottle.
If you park at the Ferguson Rd side, you will see a sign that says that it is a horse trail, and cars not allowed. It's a easy 700 metre stroll from this end...easy compared to the mountains. Not sure about coming from the other direction. Did see a different view of the mountain, but it is definitely better up close.
Thanks for the cache cooroy scouts and Brother Colin.
Thanks for the cache cooroy scouts and Brother Colin.
Very quick easy find (after I had taken the wrong track and done a bit of bush bashing), strolled out on right track. Cache in good order.
Just after the walk up Mount Cooroora, Geowife and I visited this cache to get a different view of the mountain. TFTC TNLNSL
Less than 10 minute walk from carpark with Hoblix. Great view to Cooroora, although will be grown over soon. Found a travel bug too - lucky thing going to visit NZ now!
This was the first today, Out with Brother Colin finding a few in the area that had eluded us in the past.
All good with the cache.

The Team Fang-Prime-Noski Sunny Coast Raid
It had been two decades since my school days in Pomona so I was keen to check out the area again and of course some of the caches.
I met up with Fangsoki and PPrime in Brisvegas. With backpacks packed, puzzles sorted and the trusty Fangsoki 4WD geomobile fuelled up we were ready to go.
Find number 4 - The Fangsoki 4WD got us to the spot and PPrime and I leaped out in search of this one while Fangsoki relaxed and enjoyed the view.
Thanks for the cache cooroy scouts.
Cheers!!

Well, what to do on a public holiday - well in Brisbane at least? Why not climb a mountain says Fangsoki. Hmmm, if I must says I, arm twisted behind my back and dragged along - NOT!! Mountain? where where where says I really. With Radnoski, Gaz'n'Kab and under the guidance of master Fangsoki and the Powerful Purple Paj we nipped up the road to this little beauty. Quick find out the side of the car.
Thanks for placing this cache, cooroy scouts. Found in good condition.

Poor old cache - 400m off the main road and no bugger goes and visits it.
Captain Terror and I had the device to make it well less than 400m.. more like 4m... in the form of the mighty Paj
The track wasn't too bad today - but certainly not good for 2WDs. We pulled up where our GPSr's told us. We found the cache instantly - as it was lying in the grass near the hiding spot. The contents were a-okay though. Happy to be the first finders of this one in about 19 months
We signed the log and re-hid it where we thought it belonged. Some great views of Cooroora to be had from here - as the cache name would suggest TFTC Cooroy Scouts

It always surprises me when we are headed for a nearby cache and Fangsoki points out it has been over a year since someone paid it a visit. Only 400m at most from the road, it can't be that hard.
In the Pajero, Fangsoki parked us good and close and we headed in for the find. Easily spotted as it was out in the open. We signed the logbook as all was ok inside. Then rehid a few inches away where we thought it belonged.
As the cache name would have us believe, some different views from here, I look forward (or do I?) to climbing up that hill someday soon. TFTC cooroyscouts

Walked in from nearby Ferguson Road. As I was passing some grass, I heard some rustling in the grass and immediately thought it was a snake and let out a shriek and took off and the poor monitor lizard that I had scared shot up a tree and fell almost off and landed on another tree, so both of us got a fright. View to mountain majestic.Log dry. TNLN TFTC Thanks cooroy scouts
We drove up to this one for an easy find, and a different view of the mountain . Janine fed the young one while Dylan and i located the treasure nearby. When we had finished, we kept driving along the track as Open Street Maps show the track coming back out onto Jampot Creek Rd … and it did [^]
There was one small downhill section that was a bit dicey ... i even got out to peruse the situation before we tackled it . The rest of the track is quite ok. It was a fun little challenge, but i certainly wouldn't take any 'soft roaders' down there .
The cache is in good condition for a plastic container of this age, and is dry as a bone . Thanks for bringing us here cooroy scouts

i thought I was in a secluded spot then around the corner came a muggle on a horse was happy I drove in would have been a bit of a walk otherwise. TNLN Thanks again to the Cooroy Scouts for showing me another great spot in your neck of the woods.
Found this one on a very wet day, the mountain was shrouded by cloud, still a spectacular picture, Cache was dry. TFTC

I couldn't bear to drive the last few hundred metres to this cache and left the geomobile on the main road
Well worth it as I got to enjoy the forest at its finest in the early morning
Lots of birdlife along the way to listen too and a mighty fine view when I arrived at GZ [^]
Somehow I knew I would be getting a lot more up close and personal with that view in a couple of caches time [:o]
