We found the carabiner that this was attached to but nothing else. Seems to have gone to the deep.
We hunted for this one for ages. Decrypted clue, hunted some more. So sign of it.
Found quickly, thanks to a favourable gust of wind.
There were a few people around today but none who could see us retrieve the cache.
I was here just a week ago, as part of the ceremony to unveil the HMS Netptune memorial down the other end. If you're going to the cache why not pop down to take a look.
Log book still wet, too wet to write in so we dropped in a bit of yellow paper with our initials.

Found it quite easily. Clever hide. Unfortunately the container wasn't water tight, with the paper completely soaked. Was unable to unfold it without ripping.
Cold walk along the water front. We had to walk over the railway bridge because we could not see another route to the GZ.
Thanks Jacqueline and Peter #2211

Busy on the wharf today, but thanks to a sealion this ended up being easy to get as no one was looking at anything but where they may see it again. TFTC.
Weren't many other places for this to be, managed to extract and return it without the nearby fishermen seeing. Cheers Gav [2645]
Visited today and reattached cache. All ok now. Please try to keep it attached as the stretchy cord can stretch far enough for most cachers needs. This reduces the risk of it going for a swim. LOL
99% sure it isn't there. Found the clip but no cache. All kids insisted on dangling for a look.
We didn't find the cache today although we think we saw where it should have been but maybe we just missed it completely.
Thanks

No fishers on a sunny but blustery day. No one around and found the cache ok, nice hide btw. TNLN, TFTC
Came here yesterday in driving wind, and walked away again. Today, I found a break in the rain, and dashed in for a quick find. Luckily the rain had obscured the view from the local restaurant windows, so I was reasonably muggle-free - who was going to be out fishing on a day like this?? Had some difficulty returning the cache and its anchorage into its proper configuration. Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(1258)
We are going well on our alphabet tonight! This is our third hexy letter for the night! Bit worried about the catch on the cache. Spring is a little rusty and not pushing catch closed. Might need maintenance.
Nice hide. Out of sight of the cafe, so as long as no-one's fishing you're all go.
There were a couple of muggle fishermen about but we were there early enough to retrieve the cache without attracting too much attention. A really unique way to place the cache! It's nice to find a different kind of hide once in a while. We then went into the nearby restaurant for breakfast and later noticed that a group of muggle fishermen had positioned themselves right next to the cache. Fortunately we arrived early, otherwise it would have been impossible to get to the cache then. TFTC.
The weather was wet so absolutely no-one was about. A nice hide and a quick find. TFTC.
This one was cool. I looked in the likely spot and missed it. LB looked in the likely spot and missed it. I returned to the likely spot and found it. Good hide. Now on with more caches on the peninsula during our 13 day holiday from California. TFTC!!
knew where it was (I think) but there were barracuda-catchers in the way. went back later and there were MORE barracuda-catchers! back to wellington tomorrow so unfortunately no time to go back for a third try.
Second time lucky, first time full of muggles fishing so didn't attempt but this time was easy. Good idea for a cache, gives me inspiration. TFTC.
Nice and quick. Went at a "quiet time" but still had to avoid the fisher-people I liked the clever placement. TFTC
Was surprised by the fisher-people. People fish at night!? Quick to find, not so quick to get out. Some trouble getting back - the clasp didn't want to close. Very clever way of hiding. TFTC
Picking a quiet eveing we went for this one - only a wedding on at the same time which made it quite crowded. Fortunately we spotted a small friend (well he would be if fish could have friends) in the region of the cache, so spent some time resolutely peering at him/her to cover anything else. Cool spot. T4TC
Just returned home to NM and have a computer again. Found this cache while at dock with the Cruise ship. You folks sure do get some strong wind. Great hide and it compares well with the many we've found in the USA.
One for Daughter once Dad gave some suggested ideas, she was the brave one so came up with the goods. Worried about rust affecting the metal parts on this one, won't take much more. Stainless steel parts Hexy?
Its too good to loose.
Its too good to loose.
Finally after several false starts with muggles fishing and us fishing too I managed to find it... once I checked out the clue! Great hiding spot!
Good hide, very clever. Managed to find fairly quickly and made the correct approach such that the nearby diners and the nearby person fishing had no idea that I was doing anything else but just sitting and taking in the view, very cool!

Found it the 2nd time we went looking, got a fair idea the first time but two old fishermen were watching our every move.

Yay finally got it, third time's a charm!
We came a few days ago in the afternoon and there were people everywhere; got a pretty good idea of where it was, but not bold enough to search with so many people about.
Then went at night, but a nearby group who were fishing took great interest in us. I felt the cache this time, but didn't want to extract when being watched so closely.
But tonight, no one was about & glory was ours! Took an 'l', LN. TFTC, quite original.

Hunted around for a bit, but couldn't find it. Mindful of people staring at me from the cafe and others sitting down and fishing or eating lunch, so I gave up and left. I'll be back.
Well a wee bit of a challenge this one but pleased to say found it. Grabbed a letter. TFTC.
On holiday with Dud's Buds in Dunedin for the weekend. Found the cache easily and went to the nearby cafe for a yukky coffee afterwards. TNLN Thanks
I really liked this cache... nice and easy; uniquely attached; and in a lovely location. Unfortunatly the much needed caffeine fix we devoured afterwards didn't please as much! TNLN

We couldn't resist another of these caches, we're getting close to making a word.
Cheers.

Solo caching today and definately 3 pairs of eyes are better than one. Had to revert to call a friend and the cache was quickly found.
Had to hold onto valuable whilst retrieving.

Interesting location, how you do think these up? Quite enjoyable, gave my mate & I a lot to laugh about.

This was another one I tried pre-GPSr with no luck. I had been right in the spot too...but this time I had the GPS which confirmed it so I looked much harder and was successful.
GREAT placement, enjoyed the creativity.
It's in great condition still (as per your log request).

This is a curious little spot in our fair city. Some have suggested it develop such as Auckland's Viaduct Harbour, perhaps in the future it could lend itself well to it. But for now, go and take a casual walk along the waterfront as it stands...very enjoyable...lots of free parking around.

Well hidden (and well secured). Was very careful with all my toys, did not want them going swimming!

Found with my daughter after work. Nice hiding spot and the container is fine. TFTC was a good find.

Visited cache today and indeed it has gotten damp. We have now changed the container to an old pill bottle which should be watertight. We have placed a new log book in but left the old one in a ziplock bag in the cache as well as it wasnt too damp. Room now for small swaps. Added more letters in. Would be interested to hear how it fairs over the next few finds, please advise on state of it if you can, as being a high muggle zone we dont really want to visit it ourselves too often and draw attention to ourselves.
Quick find. Cache needs maintenance as the container is not watertight and the log is soaked. Something jammed in the bottom of the container also makes it hard to insert the stopper.
Not that pleasant a dash in the pouring rain... but what the heck, still fun
Nice easy find and nice placement. TFTC

Easy find, managed to get it stuck below, but got it back and put it into the right place. Quite enjoyed this one!

Aha, I had visited before but it there were too many muggles. After work, with some bad weather it was much quieter. With some more craning of the neck I spied something suspect (where I first suspected) - the cache
Nice little hide you have going on there. Cheers.

Deduced the spot during a lunchtime wander, but too many muggles about to retrieve the cache...
Went back later in evening and sure enough, thar she was.

Was standing there scratching my head when I spyed someone approaching with the unmistakeable yellow of an eTrex in his hand. Turned out to be Andy and baby Ethan (stegan). Had a good search of the area together and eventually stegan found it while I minded the baby, so to speak (and not very well as I made him cry!) Had a brief discussion about how you beat nofs to FTFs . Nice to meet you stegan.
Thanks for the cache Hexy.
Though I've only been caching a few months it was good to finally bump into another cacher. Nice chatting with you U.N.C.L.E - may run into you again elsewhere in the "alphabet"
It is indeed a hard road beating nofs...

This one took a while: 15 minutes strolling up and down while waiting for lunchtime visitors to depart, then a quick pounce when no-one was in sight. Coordinates spot on. TFTC Hexy.
Cheers,
G.
P.S. Beat nofs? You'll need 'new cache' email alerts to do that! (paid-up membership).

Went for the evening promonade, and very nice it was too. Amazing how still the water was - absolutely like a millpond. Nice hide which will hopefully stand the test of time. Thanks.
