Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick and myself were up this way to attend an event at the nearby lake. Not sure this was the right cache to do in the middle of the day although not sure when would be better actually. Pleased it didn't take too much to make the find, as I didn't have much energy left after huffing and puffing my way up this mountain. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
This one is not for the faint hearted and thanks has to go to Papi4506 and OzHockeyChick for my being able to log this find. Couldn't have done it without them. Thanks for placing this cache and maintaining it for so long.
Today I headed out west with Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 to attend an event and find a cache or three. This didnt appear to be far from the road, so we parked and climbed and climbed and climbed. Eventually made it to gz, huffing and puffing. Awesome views!Hope the knees survive the downhill part. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, feathertop ~~
Had a lovely walk up here on a very sunny day in winter . Great view. Thanks for the cache
A beautiful walk up the mountain. Wasnt as hard as I had feared, and the round trip was about 45mins or so. Stunning views. No issues getting there with my 2WD car on a damp day. TFTC!
Nice hike up to get the heart pumping. Its a hot and sunny day so didnt stay long and returned back to the car for water.
Well thats my exercise done for the day. A quick stroll up the mountain Well I made it to GZ got my breath back back to the car and off to Mt Macedon I go. TFTC
Thanks for this great hide in an absolutely magnificent spot on an absolutely magnificent day.So beautiful out here. I frequent this area a lot I never thought to look for a GeocacheTFTC.
Found it! First hike since major surgery and so glad to be back out. Fitness needs some work, couldnt make it up the rest of the trail, but worth it for the view at the cache. Thanks so much!
a nice walk with Andrew uphill.
the box was outside on the grass land - therefore an easy found - we put it back to the black stump of the falling log.

It was a bit of a walk but great exercise and fantastic views! A good way to see Macedon Ranges from a different perspective.

Fantastic work out for the old legs for this one but great views and a cache in perfect condition.
I love, love, loved the hike up here - even if my lungs didn't. The change in trees & other plants was quite amazing. It certainly didn't feel like Macedon and as for the views........ stunning. Glorious sunshine for this one. I was tempted to stay up there. Many thanks. A favourite for me
Found it! My legs were getting quite tired by the time we reached Mount Towrong. Muggle John and I had walked from Mount Macedon via Camel’s Hump and Day’s picnic ground. Muggle John was happy to wait on the large logs near the trail as I wandered over to GZ to look for the cache. I needed to rely on the gps to get close and then look in some logical hiding places as the one mentioned in the hint seems to have disappeared. ‘Black stump’ might work better! Some fabulous views here as the sun was setting behind the other mountain over the way! A favorite for the location and the views! Thank goodness it was mostly downhill from here although the loose rocks on the trail made it slow going. Soon we were enjoying a drink at the pub before driving home. TFTC SL. The cache is in good condition.
After chasing a FTF at the nearby Stanley Falls I found myself in the area with time on my hands and in caching mode. So where to next?
Well, how could I have missed this Mt Towrong previously - and with a cache that is an 'easy find' at the top of a big hill?
How can a short walk take so long? Perhaps the elevation had a little something to do with it...
It was a worthwhile walk and I took a seat near GZ to relax and reflect on my surroundings.
Thanks, feathertop - a FP from me because this is undoubtedly my favourite type of caching.

geocachers are like wombats
out in the bush around dawn and dusk, you can find them rooting around in the undergrowth
both tend to avoid heavily urbanised areas
favouring the freedom of the forest
simple creatures with simple needs
you will find them emerging from their burrows to satisfy their biological urges: to find food and treasure
both can be found in this beautiful spot
with plenty of long grass for consumption or a hiding place
and
both leave marks to prove their presence
wanting to leave a lasting impact
an individual calling card
though thankfully geocachers have not taken to the wombat method

Found sept 2020 but didn’t log on the app back then so signed the log again today so I could add it on here haha can’t get enough of this view anyway such a great spot so close to home thanks
A very rewarding walk, albeit a bit strenuous for this old bloke. Great view. Preceded by photography at Forest Glade Gardens, made for a big day out!
I was in the area picking up some details on a big mystery.
Hey why not stop for a trad.
Nice day for a walk.
Well this just kept going up and up and up.
Certaiunly earned the 3 star terrain today.
The view at the top was magnificent.
Once I reached gz vacinity I knew that I would not be far away.
Fav from me for the spot.

I've been working around here for the last three weeks, along Turitable Creek, Barringo Creek, and on Willimigongon Creek at the bottom of this hill. I've been wanting to come and find this cache for ages, but had to wait for the ring of steel to drop. Now that it has I finally had my opportunity. And what an opportunity, this caches was incredible! The view was spectacular, I couldn't believe it! I had the perfect day, blue skies and warm, but not hot. The climb up was certainly hard, but luckily there was lots of beautiful plants to stop and look at, as well as some skink friends. The "Hobo Hut" is impressive, I wonder how often it's used. Must be by some pretty fit people if they make this journey often. If I lived around here I would be coming up here a lot as well. Thank you feathertop for this amazing location, it's one to remember!
Amazing hike, great hide. My 4yr old loved the hike up and especially the treasure and all the amazing cubbies up here!
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. Advice is to stay home and geocaching is just a game. Geocaching encourages non essential travel and contact transmission is an issue so it is the responsible thing to avoid caching at the moment.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Found during a trip to Mount Macedon. Fantastic place guarded by a kangaroo. Just the weather could be better since it was slightly rainy. TFTC! Greetings from the Czech republic.
Found on a nice walk up the mountain. Although the top is tree-covered there are great views from the open spaces near the cache
Completing the Macedon Ranges Walking Trail Today, found the cache without much effort luckily as i was slowly just about outta effort at this point, thats quite the climb!.. The huts other cachers talking about are all but knocked down now. The council has gone through and destroyed them all and left a note at the start of the trail saying that blah blah huts are disturbing the wildlife blah blah.. Still top views from up here on a clear day, Thanks for the cache really enjoyable adventure!
So in the continuing journey of trying to get fit enough to run a 50km ultra marathon in September, I came to Mt Macedon for another long Sunday trail run. I parked in Mt Macedon not far from the Anzac Rd corner and set off up Douglas Rd to the track up the mountainside to Memorial Cross and onward following the various paths to Camels Hump, Sanatorium Lake and eventually this cache on Mt Towrong before I headed back down to Mt Macedon and my car again. I managed the roughly 19km in just on 3 hrs including stopping for this cache and, I must admit, a pause to admire the stunning view!
Thnks for giving me another reason to pass this way and the opportunity to stop for a breather

Caching buddy insisted I try this one before leaving today. I was that exhausted from all the bushwalking I’d done so far. But I was promised there were amazing views at the top so made the climb. Up I went legs dragging behind me. The view was indeed worth it and was a fitting end to a long caching day. Tftc
Found with Eudes on AWG bushwalk no. 199. Great views from here on a magnificent day - if only someone would turn those icy winds off!

Unlike last month's walk that featured a plethora of caches along the way, this was the only one along this trek so Al and I had no choice but to take the short diversion to find it.
Once at GZ, we made the quick find at 11:05. After pondering the little village set up here and admiring the sensational views from nearby, it was off the catch the others.
TNLNSL. Thanks feathertop.

Starting our day at Macedon and finishing it with 2 FTF's in Harcourt we really enjoyed the locations each and every cache took us to, showing us the history of the area and in some cases breath taking views. This was the best views of the day as we made our way up the zig zag path, huffing and puffing but so worth it. It looks like scout groups come up here with fire pits made from stone and shelters made with sticks giving the area a great look.
The cache was safely tucked away still and we added our name to the logbook before heading back down just as the rain started.
Thanks feathertop for the great views out across Macedon and Mt Macedon.

Out and about today cherry picking some left over caches hadn't gotten around to picking up.
This one was a gem, clear sky, awesome views, nice brisk workout on the way up to the top with my sister Mia and Bentley bounding the way. Looks like someone is building a scout camp up here! Fantastic location, and a fave from me.

Find #1037
I was on the homeward stretch of my walk back to Mount Macedon and noticed this cache on the GPS. I took the small detour and passed a few dens on the side of the hill. What a view back over to the memorial Cross! The coordinates were spot on and it was a straightforward find. Cache is in great condition. I enjoyed the view a bit longer and headed down back towards the car... and a much needed cuppa! TFTC!

Found by Team Ninja 27/11/2016, find number 934.
I had the afternoon off work and decided to go for a bushwalk, this one isn't too far from home and was a trail I hadn't done before. I enjoyed the walk up to the cache and stopped near the top to admire the magnificent views. Someone has gone to a lot of work near the cache to built three log shelters and several cairns!
Cache is in good order. This is another one of those great caches that takes you to a great spot you wouldn't know about otherwise. Thanks feathertop!

Found with geoson and associated gf. A good aerobic workout on a steep track, so bring good footwear. Worth leaving a good swap too.
Had an great time looking for this one. Make sure to wear some stable shoes. Excellent view as a reward when you reach it
After nine years time to replace the cache container. All well at GZ though it was steeper than I remembered!
The container is brittle and quite broken. Log book is dry in the bag but bag is not entirely air locked anymore. Will need attention coming into winter.
Waking up on Sunday morning after a bucks night nearby I thought I'd do some caching in the area before heading home.
Arriving at the trailhead I started the steep climb to GZ, quite the heart starter rising 150m sharply!
Once I made it to GZ the cache was spotted on approach and looking very worse for wear, however, the log was dry inside its bag.
Took a moment to enjoy the view and had a look at the little huts created nearby. Looks like a nicest it to rough it for a night (during summer).

On a walk with a couple of friends to build up our hiking skills we set out for a 20 km loop walk. Left the track to make the accent and amazed to see the humpies at the top. Nice easy find but the container in now broken due to age.
Love your location feathertop thanks for the journey and views. We added our bit to the cairn on the way.

What a great view and a fabulous playground for the kids and the young at heart at GZ! Thanks for bringing us up here, we might hang around for a while. We located the cache with ease thanks to all the details and made a couple of swaps. I noticed that the zip lock bag was looking a little tattered so replaced it with one I had on me. Signed log, replaced cache and now time for play!
What a great view gro this location. Even a small teepee or two set up. Tom peter and dean
Great hide. Magnificent views, well worth the steep and rocky climb with 94 year old German Geomum ! TFTC
Out caching with Ellispalace to find this one. Worthwhile bringing water, especially if your a bit unfit and fluffy

TFTC! Out caching with Stemee. We sent the boys to go get this one. Its a very rocky walk so wear good shoes. Worth the walk for the view. Photo taken by Stemee.
We arrived at the correct coordinates and could not find it anywhere! It was a beautiful walk but a bit of an anticlimax when we got to the top and were not able to find the cache.
Amazing cache! Totally worth the walk! Container is a bit damaged but really enjoyed the find. #PKZL all together today. Had heaps of fun!
Worked a bit of a sweat up going up there. Got just about to GZ and we noticed these guys having a picnic right in front of it. We we extended our walk a few hundred metres to sneak around behind them to sign the log take in the views and walk away. I don't reckon the saw us.
Found it with the Blissful Pirate. Bit of a hike uphill but well worth the effort (130m vertical gain over 500m along the track) with great views from Mt Gisborne to Mt Macedon. Got to within 50m of the cache and found some Mugglers having a picnic so stealth was required. Had to go around the back and sneak up to grab this cache. Then hid behind some trees to fill out the log. Afterwards walked up to the top of Mt Twong. I've lived in the area for 30 years and had never been to Mt Twong. TFTC
Epic view. Couldn't take it all in because the sun had gone down, but a brilliant stash to end a day on.
Wow this climb was tougher than some T4s I have done. It took 25 minutes to get up to the cache and only 10 minutes to get back down to the car and it got very rocky towards the top. The cache was an easy find and the view at the top over Macedon and the mount were impressive.
Thanks for the great climb to your cache feathertop. A fav for me.

We approached from the Towrong summit direction. Fairly easy find because the container was not covered at all. We found a little piece of bark nearby to partially hide it from casual glances! Still should be not hard if you heed the clue... Very spectacular view. A little bit of carelessness made it slow for us to regain the track leading down to Anzac Road.
We learned a valuable lesson today. Check the terrain before heading out. I don't recommend this cache to families or inexperienced cachers. We had many tears
Found two pairs of muggles on this hike.
I made it to the top but my geomum geodad and kizalee didnt quite make it to the top.
great view (saw the cross).

Parked at the bottom (by the fire hydrant) and walked up, the walk wasn't too bad, didn't last that long and when I stopped to catch my breath, I had great views.
