A quick 5 day trip to Darwin included finding this cache. This is my first trip to the northern territory and is my final state / territory in Australia to visit. The weather was certainly different to Tasmania. It is great to explore another part of Australia. Thank you Groboz for hiding and maintaining this cache. Found on 7 October 2024 at 11:24AM. This cache was my find number 11618Thanks for the cache

The rock pools were super busy so we went and found a nice cachey box thingy in the grass. There was a swim latter on.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the seventh day of Augustus Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was so hot. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. I found this cache on a trip from Adelaide to the top end with Freddo for a few weeks. We found this one before taking a dip in the very crowded rock hole. GZ was an odd, and somewhat random spot for a cache I thought - seems to be a bit of a pattern up here.Cache and contents are in good condition. Thanks Groboz for the cache.

In lovely Litchfield NP today. Hot and sunny with lots of visitors enjoying the waterhole. We walked toward GZ here but realised wed have to make our way off the track into thigh-high dry grass. Not our favourite terrain but were also not keen to wander off tracks in NPs. But thanks for bringing us here. Cheers. Gaztek

Our afternoon of Leitchfield turned out to be two days! There sure are some great places to visit, and with the warm weather sone great falls and waterways to explore. Found out at Tolner Falls, that Wangi had been closed due to a large croc being caught, but due to reopen. Didn't know that when swimming there yesterday as it seemed open with so many other swimmers!!Florence falls was a great visit also, a few caches to find as we walked around the circuits and tracks with cooling off in the falls, pools and creeks as we past.

A sidetrack to Litchfield National Park for a few hours turned into a couple of days.Decided to walk from Florence Falls. Stopped at every path on the way. Excellent.

Enjoyed the Buley Florence walk via Shady Creek. GZ had been burnt and the regrowth was open and up to knee high.Dry log here today. We are supported our mate who ran to Darwin via the length of New Zealand, Tasmania and through Geelong, Adelaide, Alice Springs (@curlyrunsnz). We have some time off up here before heading home.Groboz, I found Beautiful Buley today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

A day trip to Litchfield, lots of waterfall & people enjoying swimming holes
Just off the track in an area where the grass wasn't too high
We only had a couple of caches to find, some had very rough roads to negotiate.
What a great way to tour the country following the geocaching trail.
Thanks to the CO for placing this cache

Exploring Litchfield NP today, we started at Florence Falls for a swim, then drove over to Buley.
We walked the path, worried about some pretty long grass, but found a good entry at S585 E204…
The cache needs a new container, small sistema.
Thanks for hiding this cache!

We’re staying in Litchfield/Batchelor for a few days, and with lots of time we’re touring the area by finding all the caches around! We’ve had a great time finding all the caches around and visiting all the great spots!

This one was a quick find after a trudge through the grass… Not in the best condition but dry for now…

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Groboz

We explored Litchfield National Park again today, completing many of the walks and swimming at the very busy waterfalls. Lucky this cache as been placed in a non busy area. Walk in the long grass to find this one. What amazing water falls along the river. TFTC

06-Jul-23
Touring the top end with Ms Atalanta, we visited this area and so set off to find the cache. Ms Atalanta stayed on the path while I went off-track and quickly located the cache, which I believe is a good deal more than 199 metres from any swimming hole.

Having been down to the Florence falls early around 9am - we looped back here as we knew the parking spaces were sparse. Did find one and spent a glorious hour in the rock pools before it got too hot and sunburn like weather.
Went back to the shelters - put our shoes back on and set off down the path towards GZ. My daughter wasn’t too keen to leave the path ( super scared of seeing snakes- since a friend of ours did spend an overnighter at the hospital after finding 2 bites on their leg - nothing happened)
I walked the 80m - has been controlled burned so no signs of the slippery friends - and located the cache pretty quickly. Thanks for the cache Groboz. Over 15 years congratulations!

On a Litchfield tour today and enjoying finding a couple of caches on my way. We had a lovely dip in the rock pools before lunch, and then I opted for a wander to the cache instead of another swim. A nice quick find away from the muggle path. TFTC

We have come back to this area today for a swim after visiting the lost city. This time while walking past the way in looked easy that the long grass I looked at yesterday. A nice quick find was made once at gz.

Dieses Jahr ist es endlich soweit und wir reisen nach Australien um die Gibb-River-Road zu fahren. Eigentlich sollte dies schon 2020 stattfinden, aber da kam irgendwas dazwischen. Also 2023 ein neuer Anlauf.

München->Singapur->Perth->Broome->...->Gibb-River-Road->...->Darwin->München

Auf dem Rückweg vom Rockhole kurz abgebogen und das Döschen problemlos entdecken können. Jetzt erstmal ein erfrischendes Bad nehmen.

I wondered how I would find this one as I set off for the final 78 m into the grasslands. However as soon as I got close to the GZ my cacher’s instincts kicked in and I spotted the likely spot and it was grabbed no time

Accompanied by two beautiful swims in the nearby creek

We spent two days exploring Litchfield National Park, enjoying the gorgeous landscapes and the occasional swim. With some geocaching thrown in, it was even better.

A cache and a swim, the cache before the swim, of course.

Another beautiful location. It was a short walk from the car to GZ. Recent fires have meant that it is easy to walk through and we soon found this one in an obvious but safe place.
Now, definitely time to go for a swim in one of the nearby water holes.
Thanks Groboz for leading us to this location.

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving around in the Litchfield NP.

On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.

Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.

Thanks to 'Groboz' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Beautiful Buley' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.

Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

We traveled through Northern Territory for four weeks. We started the journey in Alice Springs and drove to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and then to Kings Canyon, MacDonnell Ranges, back to Alice Springs, to Devils Marbels, Katherine, Katherine Gorge, Kakadu NP and then further on to Darwin. On the way we found some caches. This was one of them.
Wir fuhren die Strecke zwischen den Pools nicht mit dem Auto sondern nutzten sie für einen kleinen Spaziergang. Unterwegs kamen wir an verschiedenen Badestellen vorbei und auch an diesem Cache. TFTC!

This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 9798. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.

This is a stunning location for just sitting and relaxing with the family, this one certainly is far enough away to not get muggled. In the long grass I was a bit nervous but found without issue and then on to the holes for a swim.

Thanks Groboz for the cache.

While staying in Darwin I took the day to visit Litchfield NP. While taking the trail between Buley Rockpool and Florence Falls I decided to find this one. As I got closer to where I needed to leave the track another walker passed me but when I looked back I noticed him trekking through the bush. Another geocacher it seems! Sure enough as I approached GZ he yells out "over here" with the CIH. I don't usually run into others while out in the bush! And this far from Sydney! Nice to meet you and all the way from Austria. We signed the replacement container and left it near the old damaged one. Said our farewells then I headed onto the others near Florence Falls. This is a lovely NP to visit. TFTC

Travelling around the world I visited Australia as well. The cache could be found. Thanks for showing this nice place.

11-May-18
From Florence we went on to beautiful Buley Rockhole. Quite early, but lots of people already enjoying the crystal clear water in the rock holes. Walked along the track back towards Florence Falls to get to the cache. The grass was quite high, but you could see where you were putting your feet. We have replaced the cache with a new container and log, as the previous cache has totally disintegrated. TFTC

03-Nov-17
An enjoyable walk from Florence Falls this afternoon. The grass wasn't as long as it looked thankfully and the cache was easily found. However, it's badly broken and will need replacing before the wet kicks in. TFTC

Family of 6 travelled around Australia in a camper trailer on the holiday road trip of our lives. It's been a long time since we came home, but I kept good notes and am now reliving our trip by logging the caches we found on our travels.

We loved buley! came here a couple times during our 1 week stay at the park. WE swam in every rock pool starting from the top and sliding down.
I then recall making this cache a whole lot more difficult than needed - idea is to stay on the track as long as possible until it becomes essential to leave it! Thongs are also not great footwear in these scratchy parts!!

Thanks for placing a cache to mark this great spot!

01-Sep-17
Out for a sunrise walk on this glorious day in such an equally beautiful place. Not too many people up yet, making my caching walk muggle free. Much easier walkibg through the grass than the bush trees. TFTC

A road trip with my younger brother that I haven`` t seen for the last 6 years. Made me to do this trip. Between Yulara and Darwin we found lots of Geocache` s. It was an awesome trip that I will never forget. We have visited so many beautiful places and seen so much, love this place. Thanks for having me Australia, I certainly enjoy all the views and hidden treasures.

Still travelling NT after the Red Centre Experience but now moving towards Birdsville in QLD for the Big Red Bash.

Staying a few days at Batchelor so a day out exploring Litchfield today. Mrs Felix still with limited mobility after knee surgery in Darwin so Mr Felix was pretty much exploring on his own. Surprised

Your cache was found in good condition today. The management authority have certainly been doing lots of work here. The carpark has been moved and the old carpark is now a picnic area.
