Found at 1:00:36 PM GAFF1. Well after the disappointment at the bridge, we thought we had better look for a very simple cache for our 7,000th and 1st!
And here we are in a quite bush setting spot which is what we prefer in any case. We headed of into the bush - the hard way as it turned out - and then after checking a few spots a very obvious one appeared right in front of us. It's amazing how in the bush you need to focus on many layers - just like when looking into space!
Thanks Big Matt and Shell

Well, we were visiting the Botanic Gardens and noticed that Deep Creek Dam was on their map, and so was a viewing area of the Dam. So we proceeded to do the walk through the gardens up to the dam, only to discover that we were on the wrong side of the dam to the cache.
Made our way around, then Mr FM jumped the fence to start looking. Mrs FM did the tourist bit, then followed around the fence and made a quick find!
We took the Geocaching GC.

Camano Joey visited as we saw some of his real life counterparts nearby.

24-Apr-11
It was a big day out at the gardens today. An Easter egg hunt had been organised for the littlins.
So we took our young fella along.
All the locals and long weekend holidayers turned up. So there was a big crowd.

Supposedly the organisers had expected this and placed 4000 chocy eggs out on the law for the hunt.
All were assured of getting and egg or two.

After the hunt I snuck away to have my own little hunt.
A bit of a detour through the scrub until I made my way onto the road. The rest of the way easy going.
Found without trouble.
The dam looks good and is full of water.
Thanks for the find

Found with Candy Cane 101 and Black Bunny on a day trip to the coast, to get some of the caches we missed out on, yesterday.

I was a bit concerned about going past the fences for this one, but Candy Cane 101 and Black Bunny had no such reservations, and had found the cache in a very short time. I saw some interesting lichen.

Just before 8:00am I arrived at the carpark which already contained 8 vehicles and a lot of muggles milling around [:o]
Some sort of official Eurowater tour was happening and the crowd consisted of engineers and other water related boffins.
My own geomobile didn't look out of place amongst the landcruisers and utes and they must have thought I was turning up late Big Grin
Once they realised I was just a tourist they kindly jumped in their vehicles and left en-masse [^]
So there I was alone Big Grin
Here cachey, cachey, cachey [:o)]

There was a delightful waterfall cascading down what I can only describe as the world's smallest dam spillway nearby Smile

TFTC and informative stop.
I now know more about the Eurobodalla's water reticulation system than 99 percent of the residents Razz

I'm pretty sure I dropped the Evil Emporer TB here too Red Face

We had the place completely to ourselves today as we had time to find a few caches whilst the rest of the family were surfing at Broulee. GeoJim and I had a bit of a clamber before realising there was a much easier way in....doesn't it always happen that way? Anyway, all good fun and we found the cache. Swapped geocoins and wandered back to the geomobile to enjoy the views before heading back to Broulee. TFTC Smile

Found by Mary & David at 0905. The water level looks well down, so we guess the dam is now in use. Still wonderful reflections though. Spotted a young wallaby close to the road on our way in. Collected 'Cyris The Diver' TB. Our thanks again to Big Matt and Shell.

I arrived here early in the morning, the place was deserted. Went and found the cache, and just as I was walking back, a maintenance vehicle arrived. I thought they would go thru their gate and leave the place empty again, but they loitered. I eventually came down the track and had a few words. They had thought the car had been stolen and dumped!
Thanks, Robmc.
