Unlucky town for us today!

10-Sep-22
Looked for a bit, but wildlife got better of us. Between bees, wasps and spiders ( web all over bushes) we didn’t feel like sticking our fingers on an exploratory journey. We did admire the site.

Not my kind of hide, unfortunately. I took a quick walk around , felt very uncomfortable, a thousand and one places to hide a cache. I left.

These can be daunting hides but a hunch based on a similar spot led to two quick finds with Brewmaker and The Bebes. Found the plastic version and the tin one. Signed both, to be sure to be sure. Thanks Smelly Boot.

12-Jun-21
Found only with the assistance of a previous finder. What we found was hot pink so I’m sure it’s the right one. Hoping the “muggles across the road” is/was a Gee up!

No luck finding this cache.

06-Apr-21
Day 7 of our "Dayboro Plan B" trip. mtrax & myself, having decided to ditch the mega Sad came up with a last minute re-route using some of the accommodation we'd already booked and find some interesting caches. To this end we were very selective and only chose caches with sufficient FPs along the route. Today we are in leaving Tamworth and heading down to Bathurst for the night. Not a lot of time for caching today. Weather is warm but good. Looking forward to Burning Mountain on the way.

Didn't find this one.

Thanks anyway Smelly Boot

I had a hour before my lunch time dumpling reservation. I had a hint.

So I returned and found a hot pink container in a different spot to a previous finder. It had many logs dating back years. I hope it is the right one.

Spent some time here with no luck. a little more info might have helped.. What sort of container, is it magnetic,, After all the goal of having us stop in Kandos and take in some of its history was achieved.

Over nighting in Kandos and time for one cache, took me longer then it should of but found and signed both caches just in case, Thanks Smelly Boot

06-Jul-20
Taking a couple of days off and collecting a few caches along the way. Was expecting this one to be a lot harder, but thanks to other team members we made the find. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the log and cache container are in good condition. Found with JJCC, thanks for the cache Smelly Boot.

Nice hide. Kandos is a sweet little town.

Found at 12:05:00 PM

This was a very tempting cache for me since I am working towards a challenge cache in Canberra which requires D and T 3 stats. T3 are easy enough, but D3 ones are rarer. This was a true D3, but with persistence I was able to find the cache while the policeman's dogs over the road barked at me.

Thanks Smelly Boot

19,298. Found during a weekend caching meander with minniek and GLISS!, and an awesome time was had.

After packing up camp we headed back to where we got to yesterday to continue through our list of must do caches. This was the next one. With the three of us crawling under the structure it wasn't long before minniek came up with the right prizw. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks Smelly Boot !!

We're camping at some quiet locations and great little towns that should lead us to the Mega at Queanbeyan.

Found the container by feel. Couldn't see what I was touching though. Nothing soft and hairy I guess.

Thanks for placing this cache Smelly Boot

Day 15. Trip from Bright in Victoria to Brisbane, Queensland can be rather boring, so we cache as we go. We have left Lithgow, and are now on our way to Goulburne National Park and are trying to keep our current streak alive. Once we get into the national park, we will lose internet for a few days.

Found Kandos Farewell, but not Cemented in Kandos. So, I can log the Geo AU find, but not this one. Interesting search

Ah, but checking the .au site, there are no caches in Kandos, so I must have found the right red tobacco tin

28-Jan-19
Stopped by on the way back home after a weekend at Dunns Swamp.

Cheers

Together with my son I embarked on a six day road trip from Sydney via Bathurst, Parkes and Dubbo to Bourke and back to Sydney via Mudgee. In total we clocked over 1,700 kilometers and along the way we stopped almost 90 times for grabbing a roadside cache.

The final day of our road trip, driving back from Mudgee to Sydney through some beautiful scenic parts of the state. We enjoyed our trip via Lue Road and stopped for the many caches along the way as it was a great opportunity to stretch our legs.

Thanks for the cache Smelly Boot!

We are spending time at one of my favourite locations Dunns Swamp We managed to do a few caches along the way with the caravan on before getting to our targetted location. Even though it is school holidays we found a nice camping spot. I enjoyed cooling off in the beautiful water while Bruce went to do the 2 au caches we needed to get the coords for the other cache published. Must admit he looked rather shattered after he had been hiking in 38 degree heat. Thanks to Smelly Boot for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area. Big GrinBig Grin

After a couple of pleasant nights at the Old Bara camp site, we had to pack and leave to get back to Sydney. We decided to take another Less Travelled Road - but not within the series.

No excuse for not finding this, but searching in 43 degrees is not that easy ... we will comeback Wink

Found on my early morning walk. On approach it seemed a daunting task and, given all the wasps nests, I wasn't prepared to find this cache by feel. Instead, I peered in likely places and, thankfully, spotted it quite quickly.

Thanks Smelly Boot.

30/9/17. 1:05 PM. Cache #5323.
10th of 23 finds (& 1 DNF) today.

Day 1 of the long weekend and I came up to plunder caches in the Mid West Regional council. First leg of the day, coming up from Sydney, I cleared as much as I could from this corner - Running Stream, Ilford, Cudgegong, Aarons Pass, Clandulla, Kandos, Rylstone, Dabee and Carwell.

I came here after "Rotary" and saw I was faced with a complex search area. With the coast clear, I got into position, peering and feeling and found the container a lot quicker than I thought may have been the case. Pretty sure it was the right one. SL and replaced, then continued on foot to the final for "History of Kandos". TFTC.

Damn we found the wrong cache. Heaps of people have signed the "team George Jetson" cache. Sounded a bit suss, but, unfortunately, we were fairly exhausted after doing some hikes and hoped for the best. At home now, in front of a computer (I'm too old to own a smart phone), I've found that we have found the wrong cache. Guess we'll try again some day.

Thanks!

Quick find. For both Caches.

04-Dec-15
found the right one apparently if colour is the key. it did lead me a bit of chase, felt a bit conspicuous considering who is across the road but no one tapped me on the shoulder, asking for explanations so I signed the log and went off to find my lunch in town. Now I had grubby caching hands courtesy of this cache, just what I needed when eating chips and hamburgers.
keep your eyes open if here for a meal there are more options than is first apparent. I ended up sharing the money love in a couple of businesses and my coffee was served by a very pleasant person at the railway café information centre.

Found on journey away from the Mega. Today we are travelling from Gulgong to Lithgow or perhaps from the tropics to the arctic. Mostly about travelling but we will collect a couple of caches along the way. We had been advised to visit this town instead of going all the way on the highway - if we had known how narrow and windy the road is we may not have taken the diversion. Loved the views of the dam along the way though.

We managed to find and sign both containers.
