A great cache while it lasted ... a nice park and great views I would never have discovered except for caching
A great cache while it lasted ... a nice park and great views I would never have discovered except for caching
This is our first cache together and my first cache in Australia. Had a fun time walking in the park and found the cache a little after dark. There was enough moisture in the cache that the log was a little difficult to fill out - There's also something crusty in the bottom.
Thanks for the nice cache.
Thanks for the nice cache.
Found it on a lovely walk through the park. Log book was a bit damp but still usable. TFTC SecretSquirrel
Co-ords worked out, gps pointed to an obvious hide 40m.. 30m.. 20m.. has to be.. yep. Sense of distance getting better.
Stopped off after checking in to motel. Straight forward multi. Cache container and contents are wet. Still able to sign log with pencil. TFTC
As we climbed the stairs to WP1 we caught somebody hiding easter eggs near the plaques (inadvertent easter-muggling). The walk was really pleasant and the views were top shelf. The log itself was intact but very damp. Thanks again!
Great find for a first adventure. Thanks, the kids had a blast looking for it!
Easy find, followed instructions at wp1 to get coords of GZ, got me mystified how your generating your checksums as I add all the numbers up that you work out for the S coord and get 12 and same goes for E. So I guess that the checksum is more complex that x+x+x for example?

Hit this one early before the rain set in - what a surprise, and easy cache and a short walk, Elvis was a little disappointed at the brevity but as he is currently asleep at my feet I am gathering the remainder of the mornings activities were sufficient to pacify him.
As an aside, the log and container are slightly damp although not damaged.

Quiet park with more views over the area. My job, such as it is, occasionally brings me very near here late at night, but I've chickened out on a cache hunt at those times. tks Bob Hawke
Bumpy ride for the wheelchair getting to the cache, but good views from the lookout which was fully accessible. TFTC
Quick find on a cache-run with SirJ-Oz - surprisingly large container for the area. Container was a little damp, but the log is ok - TNLNSL - TFTC
Another nice view from a hill - but at least we could drive up to this one . Well stocked cache at the end also.

Finding out all the answers was pretty easy and interesting. The cache was very easy to find. No TB though. The cache is a bit wet but still ok. Left Bakugon toy, took nothing. Thanks.[:o)]
Could the next Cacher that visits please collect the TB "Fly me to the Moon" and bring it northwards to Sydney if they are heading this way please.
I'd like the get this TB back on track with it's Goal.
Cheers

Got to great spot on bicycle ( #2 both DNF for the day) but did not have the instructions, will have to go back tomorrow.
Revisit after no clues yesterday. Hooray. Nice quiet area but geobuddy Marg was at conference.
found at night and took my daughter to the park the next day, will be coming back here, it is a really beautiful spot. Took trackable and scout badge, left toys and Australian penny.
Its my first cache. took two stabs at getting at the cache due to muggles.
Nice puzzle took me a little bit to work out.
GPS coords for the first NAV where spot on (1m to go whilst standing over it)
for GZ the cache was a little out but I found it
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thank you for the cache/hide

Our last for the day and again So was VERY impressed with the park to entertain her while mr_roo and I worked out the details for GZ. Once we had this So was focused on finding the cache (which she promptly did) before returning to the park for a farewell play. It was good to see than even a park came second to caching (albeit a very close second).

While so played on the nearby playground, ja and me went to waypoint 1 of this one found the waypoint interesting and a lovely view of qeanbeyan. After getting the information we called for so to come and went to gz where we made a quick find. Back to the park for so, where she showed us her skills of being a firelady TFTC

This is a lovely park that we hadn't known about. Thanks for the cache, we'll make sure to come back for a visit next time we're in Queanbeyan
Did the maths and had it in hand after a short walk. That is the biggest ever "small" cache I have ever seen......
I worked out the coordinates and headed down to GZ, only to find muggles watching me from WP1.
I managed to be sneaky enough in my retrieval that they didn't notice. TFTC.

Walked up the hill and photographed the required information and went back to the car to do my calculations. Numbers in hand, I strolled over to GZ for a surprisingly large find.
What I want to know is how the SS who found a place for such a container became the SS who puts nanos under park benches?
Thanks, Robmc.

I found this one whilst paying a visit to the motor registry in Queanbeyan. After arriving at the listed coordinates I quickly gathered the required information for a short walk to make a quick find. The size of the container was a little surprising!

We abandoned our first attempt at the Watch Tower to do this one - luckily it was pretty simple, and sort of re-established our faith in our caching abilities.
A quick log signing, then it was back to the dreaded Watch Tower...
Thanks SS-BJC

There were great views up here on a chilly morning
But still the dog walkers and joggers were out and about [:o]
I snuck the log book in and out of the cache between passing muggles. Nice to see such a large cache hidden in a busy park [^]

Found at 0815. A nice morning for a walk in a park. Arrived at GZ car park with a couple of cars parked there as well with their occupants inside them. So after a short wait, jumped out, ran up the hill, got the numbers, and grabbed the cache. Nice location with what appears to be a nice walking track.

Didn't have the in-car GPS so ended up driving past what would have been the best spot to park and then realised could have also come in from the other side but in any case made it to GZ after a pleasant short walk. Plugged everything in and then the short walk to GZ where the cache was promptly located. TFTC!

My first find - the nav lied to us but we (Jubecube and i) found it never the less
Nice little cache. I walked straight past it heading in some random direction behind it, Tokendiesel however walked straight to the point (her first ever cache too!) and found it. Great spot for hiding.
Good thing I had Tokendiesel with me as there was a huntsman near the container, she galliantly extracted it from position while I watched from a few paces back, also putting it back in the same fashion... lol

Nice cache. I'm new to geocaching, and this one is in the park right behind my house - and I never knew about it! It has a good selection of trinkets to swap!
A straightforward multi but a pleasant spot late in the day with the sun low and the trees in color - thanks for bringing us here.
Staying with family nearby; they walk the dogs up here regularly, so a perfect excuse to take them caching on a beautiful evening. A great location to watch the sun go down! TFTC SS.

950. Small milestone for GC numbers in a nice setting that I haven't been to before. Wasn't sure how far away GZ would be from the WP and was a little disappointed that it wasn't up that other big crest nearby. CoolAid however thought it was just right - teenagers.
Loved the size of the container for this one and the hidey hole is almost perfect for it, well done all 'round.
TFTC and a look at more Q'beyan scenery.

Wandered up to this one after dinner. Considering we're still in summer, it was a pretty chilly out, should have bought a jumper... Anyway, we found this cache without any troubles, and the geokid loved watching the planes fly overhead. We took the TB to move on this weekend. Nice view and thanks for the cache!
Great views from this area but very dry. Co-ords spot on and didn't take long to log.

Well executed multi. Nice view from the 1st waypoint. Left a Gretchin miniature and took a green frog which ended op over in the "Woodland" cache shortly afterward.
3rd of four finds in the Queanbeyan area for the day.

I had some time to kill while I was in Qbn today, so decided that a cache was in order. This took me to an unexpected & previously unvisited spot that is well tucked away. I'm amazed there has been no visitors for so long - in fact, I'm sure someone has signed the log more recently, but maybe my memory is failing me. The other amazing thing is how large the cache actually is - I was expecting something a fraction of the size.

Find # 1916 and 27th of the 2nd day at 5:52pm. on our longweekend caching trip to Canberra accompanied by Feathertop. Easy find. TNLN, Signed Log, Thanx SecretSquirrel-BJC....
A lovely park with nice views. Its a shame to see it so dry and clearly suffering from drought. Whilst we have been in Canberra it has lashed it down so hopefully that has helped. I left my Lancashire Geocoin. I want it to stay in Australia so I didn't really want any foreign tourists getting hold of it, Queanbeyan is a nice place (and its where we stayed) so it seemed ideal. Aha, a Squirrel cache near my old stamping grounds, although even when I lived nearby I didn't get up here much. It never seemed worth the effort to actually climb the hill. It's a different story now though! Definitely worth going up for a look (plus we drove, which was much easier than on the old bike).

A nice easy find on my way home. What a pleasant spot with nice views. Muggles appear from nowhere though over the crest, and if you're not careful they could catch you out. TN left a GC. Thanks SS.
Seeing as I had the car today to get it serviced after many interstate visits to rellies, I popped in here. Yes, as TankEngine suggests, I've walked right through here on a previous Panic! photogenic multicache. Thanks SS for yet another nice location - deserted at 7am too.
