Happy to say that this one has survived the fire. The contents are a bit burnt, but the log book remains intact, but badly charred. A replacement might be a good idea.
Out and about caching with the MICKS crew. TFTH!

06-May-23
Had an enjoyable walk into the cache and the container was spotted quickly.
With fires having come through relatively recently the contents we charred and semi disintegrated.
Still managed to open the logbook and add our names before heading on our way.

Another day out and about with the MICKS and today we headed up to the hills as some of the team had a meeting to finalise some of the activities for WAGB in a few weeks.
Managed to always find myself in a car when the heavy rain came down and enjoyed the cooler weather as we walked through the bush.
By the time I called it a day I’d managed 30 finds, 1 adventure lab, 1 challenge signed & 0 DNF’s.

Thanks The Red Devils for placing Long Way from Newton Heath. for me and others to find.
I added my name to the log at 11:14 on 6/5/2023.
This is find number 7108 for me.

06-May-23
The MICKS team is making the use of a cooler day hitting certain caches in the eastern suburbs. Cache was found and logged and a quick photo session due to the burnt cache!
Cheers

The MICKs have decided it was time for a caching adventure north of the river to find a few caches that have been on their radar for awhile. Today we managed to find a great variety of caches. Thanks to the CO’s for placing for our enjoyment.

This is my 4589 find.
Thank you The Red Devils for placing and maintaining this cache.

Out and about again, first week back at work, and back out on arvo and headed out to JFNP and Parkerville. This one as a previous finder mentioned was burnt out - still able get some paper to write my name on it.

Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today

Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

08-Jan-23
I have had the coords stashed away for this one for a while now. I finally had a little window to go down and grab today.

Once at GZ, I was a bit worried as there has been a bush fire come through here recently. I found the cache is great condition, but unfortunately all the contents are melted (photo attached)

It may be worth the next cacher bringing a new log book with them when they come.

Tftc.

05-Nov-21
Nothing found today but I think I might need to recheck my coords

06-Oct-21
After solving the puzzle and then DNF it last time, I confirmed with another cachet that my coords were incorrect and I was looking in the wrong place. Armed with the correct coords I made the find and turned this into a smiley. Thanks.

21-Sep-21
No luck for me here today. Will try again at another time

23-Mar-21
Always good to find one of these containers. And even better when it contains the original log book after so many years. Great to flick back through the find history.

Thanks for the cache The Red Devils.
Found on 23/3/21 at 09:43.
Find #13394.

I solved this one so long ago, I can't actually remember solving it! Coming out to JFNP is just about a day trip for us so we don't get out here often. Having a bit of time today we decided to grab a few caches before a pub lunch. I waited with baby atCat while Mr bush bashed his way to the final. He says the views were amazing! Thanks for the puzzle and cache, The Red Devils! We thoroughly enjoyed the walk.

Once we cottoned on to the subject matter the required info was gathered and the coords appeared.
After a bit of search we found our favourite type of cache container.

TFTC The Red Devils this is find # 9794 for us.

14-May-20
Really great spot here and another part of the park we hadn’t explored. We did enjoy the puzzle even though we had some trouble coming up with the right answers to get some good coordinates. After getting pointed in the right direction we were off to make the find.

The cache was located and in really good condition, no problems here.

TNLNSL, TFTC The Red Devils and bringing us to this area!

Out with Team Barritts. Really great spot here, tftc! FP from us.

Catching up on a bunch of missed logs. Always find a way to fall behind on logging. Please excuse the generic log.

14-Mar-20
And a long way from Home Park too. Solved this one so long ago I'd forgotten about it. On a visit to John Forrest today so it's time for the Green Army to raid this Red cache. A nice one for those of us to whom P.A.F.C. doesn't have anything to do with Port Adelaide. Up the Argyle!

08-Mar-20
Long way fure sure. Tftc

08-Mar-20
Found the error of my previous calculations and made a quick find here whilst in the area today. Took the residen TB for further Trac er la. You know it's an old cache when you find a Motorola phone case in the booty! TFTC Smile

31-Jan-20
No luck today at my GZ... reading other logs I think I have the wrong spot. Oh well... nice walk. Back to the drawing board!

20-Nov-19
Beautiful bush hide and nice ammo can. Still going strong. Enjoy reading the real logs from the early day of caching.

Had a big day out caching east of Perth from Greenmount to Wundowie and was then home via Ellenbrook.

A great day out with a variety of small bushwalks, some off road driving, some climbing, some park and grabs and a fishing cache for good measure. Nice variety of puzzles, multis and traditionals too.

Thanks to the COs for their hides.

I am a Saint but PP1 has been a life long Red Devil. A good combination as I solved the puzzle & he went and found the cache today. When we returned to the car we found that the road had just been closed for a prescribed burn. Hope the cache will be OK, Dropped a TB. TFTC PP1 wants you to have a favourite for the subject matter. All I can say is 1976 1-0

Happy days. After a DNF nearly 18 months ago, This blue dot has been mocking me ever since. Had a little time on the weekend and decided to scratch this itch and this time came up with some different numbers. Even better, the satellite pic showed them lining up with some rocks (though that's no stretch in this area).

Headed off today with high hopes and moderate expectations and was stoked with an easy find and good coords.

Nice cache, shame it gets so few visitors. Have given a favourite point and I understand the passion behind the cache.

TNLN, TFTC The Red Devils.

Well this cache was quite interesting, I had no idea of the elaborate history until I started researching the required info.
Thinking I had done a good job calculating the coordinates I was about to head to GZ when I saw timmyh's log and thought I had better confirm before I left. So asking a friend who had found it previously I found out I had 'A' wrong.Surprised
After a some more research I finally had the correct coordinates and off I went Smile

Walking to GZ from the nearest road I disturbed about 20 kangaroo's, It was quite fun watching them bounding through the bush Smile. Arriving at a big heap of rocks it wasn't too long before I was signing the log book in a very good condition cache. It quite remarkable how well these hold up to the weather.

Thanks Red Devils, a very well put together cache. The only thing it needs by the looks of it is a geochecker.

23-May-16
Maybe my Math isn't as good as I think. Arrived at what I thought was GZ to find nary a rock for over 70m in any direction. Nevertheless, headed over to the nearest pile as per previous logger but was not as fortunate. Will redo my sums and try again.

03-Sep-15
I had solved this puzzle a long long time ago, well I thought I had solved it... Headed downhill with my little offsider & descended over a small creek before hunting around for a few minutes before deciding that the location did not seem right Surprised Headed back up the hill to a spot where I thought would be a good spot for a cache & circling around it, Master 4 soon spotted this one!

TFTC The Red Devils [^] Loved the location for this one, not sure what I had done wrong but so I worked on the puzzle so long ago now, that I am not going to try figure it out... Turned out I was about 40m out!!! Cache was well hidden, although it was very surprising to see many muggle entries in the logbook.

(Chwiliwr team catch up log)

Chwiliwr had this one solved some time ago after a couple of wrong answers initially but had never actually put the final GZ into the GPS. At least he had made notes of the final location on the listing some months ago so could look it up whilst in the area today.

A pleasant walk down to GZ and a quick find of cache once there.

Thanks The Red Devils for the cache.

Despite some sketchy weather, I rode some of the Heritage Trail Loop, before backtracking to ride the winding Park Rd and eventually finding a track that stretched my MTBing lack of skill and lead me back to the Heritage Trail Loop. A massive front passed overhead as I made my way to GZ. The area was deserted so I ignored the no bike sign and rode to within 40m of GZ. Great to locate a nice big cache safely tucked away. With the rain still pelting down, I opened the logbook only a tiny way and wrote a scrawly K.B. on the edge of a page before putting the lid back on the cache to prevent further water getting inside. Thanks for the cache The Red Devils.

Headed up to John Forrest National Park today hoping to do PaddyK's Dragon Gate cache (GCVKM3). Parked at the top of Morrison Road and walked in from there. After a bit of disappointment at GCVKM3, I decided to do some of the other caches in the park ... this one wasn't on the radar at first, but when I noticed it while en route from GC2A5XD (Perth Lookout) to GC4NQTT (Rock Family) and realised I had solved it a while ago, I decided to take a detour and d this one ... was quite an extensive detour on a warmish afternoon, but I had plenty of water and time to spare, so went for it. Did a bit of a loop on the bitumen road before hitting the gravel then doing a bit of bush-bashing along kangaroo trails, crossed the other bitumen road and eventually emerged on the gravel road about 50 metres from the cache.

Quick find here and had a cup of tea while relaxing and enjoying the surrounds for a little while ... great spot for a hide! Surprised this one hasn't got more favs ... I'm giving it one for the location.

Signed the log and grabbed the TB. Thanks for the hide The Red Devils.

Might catch up with you at the 'WA Goes BIG in 2015' event in Busselton later this year (GC5GR5X)

Edited my log ... added the magic words: "Thanks for the hide The Red Devils".

Went to visit friends in Parkerville, so stopped here on our way home. Solved the puzzle ages ago. Found the cache in an obvious spot although it was a bit far from GZ. Left the biggest TB there. I hope someone will visit soon and rescue it. TFTC Its a lovely area.

After last weekends earthcache event, I realized how many caches were still out this way waiting to be found. So we headed back up this way again this weekend. Thought we had this one solved, but got to our gz and realized we must have done something wrong. Oh well, you win some and you lose some I guess...

This was our 3rd cache find in a caching run of 6 Finds & 0 DNFs today.
We found it at 11:27 so this now makes our total find count 7579.

Thanks for placing a large cache. After finding over 7500 caches it is really sad to note that the trend of placing small caches (without swaps) is increasing. While nanos and eclipse tins sometimes have their place in an urban environment these, along with 200ml Sistemas, seem to be the norm these days even out in more remote areas. It made us feel really glad to find a large, kid friendly cache here. SmileSmile
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Around 2 metres.)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Hand Cream (it was leaking a little bit).
Left: Small Toy
Thanks The Red Devils for the hunt today.

19-May-13
Not being a soccer buff we learnt something in solving this one! Great hike to the cache from the dam as the scenic drive is currently closed for maintenance. We saw several kangaroos. Cahce is still in great condition, it seems that it is 9 months since it has been found. Thanks for helping us get off the beaten track.

26-Aug-12
I joined Richlink and Iluvtrekking for a day of geocaching around Mundaring, Lesmurdie and Kalamunda areas. 3rd cache for the day and nice walk to find this one. TFTH.

26-Aug-12
This puzzle has been solved and in our 'to do basket' pretty much since it was first published. Over the past few months we have made a concerted effort to tidy up our pile of solved puzzles and today we finally found this one.

28-Jun-12
Took a while to solve the puzzle, not being a soccer officianado.

Nice walk down to the GZ, took about 5min to locate the cache. Nice hide, great area. Tftc.

28-Apr-12
I knew I was heading out east today so I knuckled down to the tedium of British football trivia and solved the puzzle. Quick walk in from the road and a fast find. TFTC

24-Mar-12
Going through my old logs a nd noticed I hadn't marked a found.
Parked on the road and wandered down to the cache. After a few minutes found it tucked away.
Great hunt!

Looked at this ages ago but thought it was to hard, but once started it was
quite easy. TFTC TNLNSL

Solved the clues a few weeks ago at my desk, nice quick find today Smile

22-Aug-10
Have been bypassing this one for ages...finally decided to knuckle down and solve it...happily coords were spot on and my muggle buddy Dave found cache quickly....great location thanks red devils for bringing me here

07-Feb-10
I worked out the solution to this cache quite a while ago, then lost the answer, reworked the answer and then haven't had the opportunity to come and find the cache. Today that all changed. An enjoyable walk in to the cache. A nice easy find. T: Pony book, L: Animal figurines. TFTH.

16-Dec-09
I've got a problem with "E", the reduced answer for Question Five subtract the number of players that start each match results in a two digit number. What's the deal?

24-Oct-09
Great day out for walking in John Forrest national park. I completed several caches before and after this one, so I had a reasonable walk 13.5km.

I came up on the track past the dam, nice and steep to get the blood pumping. Great views from the cache site, loved the rocks.

Thanks for the cache.

01-Aug-09
*Found using the family group name Mackerals. Have decided to log it under my new separate account.

Found ok co-ordinates spot on.
Took ball pump. Left hand cream.
Great little spot.

Wonderful country to go caching in. The gate was open so that made the walk a little shorter. Final coords spot on and the cache container is in good condition. Thanks The Red Devils

08-May-09
Thanks Bungarra for alerting me to the fact that the origional reference website for some of the answers dosnt seem to exist anymore.
I have edited this cache page to show Two other sites which will provide you with the information needed.
www.stretfordend.co.uk

This is in regards to the 2nd set of questions.

PS...looks like yet another good season dosnt it!..he he he.

Had a bit of a false start, but with a slight revision of co-ords it was an easy find. A well-stocked cache and nicely hidden. TNLN. Thanks for an interesting and different puzzle Red Devils.

29-May-08
Third successful puzzle cache for the day nearly came unstuck, as I had my GZ some distance away. The description was a great help though and a bit of searching in the likely spots paid off. The puzzle certainly took some googling into an area I know nothing about. A couple of TBs had a short visit. TNLN. Thanks for a most interesting puzzle, Red Devils.

12-Apr-08
Completed the research a long time ago, but we've been waiting for the weather to cool down to find the cache. Swapped a Manchester United badge for a toy car. TFTH.

09-Mar-08
I finally got here to find this cache. I have had the coordinates for months, but never seem to be able to get here when the gates are open.
I have ridden up/down that fireroad many times on my bike, and know the area pretty well.
Took nothing, left BionicleMan's Travelling GasCan GC. Thanks for the cache and the puzzle! Smile

I always seem to be passing this cache when the gate is either closed or about to close! (@1600)

Today, I had a chore in Glen Forrest and thought I'd be there with plenty of time. So, I dropped Mama Bear off at The Lavender Patch (she doesn't do potentially snakey caches in summer!) and continued on.

Then I realised that I'd had the calculated final coords in my GPSr, but I'd cleared and re-loaded it since then, and didn't have the coords in my PDA!
Not to worry; I did a bit of wardriving and borrowed some accessible wi-fi bandwidth and, rather than re-Google all the answers, I just grabbed the final coords using my reviewer account. (Hey, I did the hard way the first time!)

By the time I'd done all that, I was back to having only 15 minutes to closing time! However, although it took longer to ignore the first place I looked and waste time looking in all the other places, I went back to GZ and found the simply, but effectively, hidden box and scribbled a hurried note before scrambling back up the hill and out.

(I used to follow Leeds a bit, but to show you how long ago THAT was, Pete Lorimer was the star striker and Billy Bremner was captain!)

Excellent view of bushland...

26-Sep-07
Decided to take "Take 30" at 5 caches together after been unaction for a while - pleasant walking to the GZ. Everlasting beat me finding the cache. Beautiful view of the bushland. No swaps. Thanks for the cache and the nice location.

Congratulations Arlorggen on your FTF especially since the answer to the clue origionally posted for the "F" Co-Ord gave an in-correct answerRed Face Thank you Urch1949 for showing me the error of my ways.

I have edited/changed the question now, so the answer should give you the correct final co-ordinateBig Grin

Sorry for the mistake folks!

Had planned to find a cache further up the road today and this one popped up as being on the way. Didn't know what you were on about when I read the questions but googling the cache name helped. If I had scrolled down a bit further to the second lot of questions the penny would have dropped a lot quicker.Know where you got your name from now.

Easy find on the questions and the cache. Swapped a book for a pump.

The number to call is 1800 11 11 11

That is...

As in 1999 A clue if ever there was one.!

Manchester United have apparently set up a call centre for fans who are troubled by their current form.

The number is 1 800 10 10 10.

Calls charged at peak rate for overseas users.

Once again the number is

1 800 won nothing won nothing won nothing.
