So thats where all my garden ornaments have gone to !!! What a different experience that was walking into the enchanted forest and seeing all those nomes gathered in there secret society watching me as I located the cache and signed the log. TFTC
Out for the day on our way to visit friends. Thought wed get some caches too. Nice little walk in. Quick find after Geohubby jumped the little creek. TFTC
*Found on the 21 Sep 2024 @ 3:20pm.**Cache find # 15828.* After attending an event at Sanatorium Lake, I then headed further North to see what else I could find.I stopped by this one back in January 2023, just after a flood had gone thought the area which also took the cache so that resulted in a DNF.Today I returned for another look, this time I had success, the cache was found and the Log was signed.**Thanks to micaparamedic for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
We turned up at this cache at the same time as the CO. The cache was nowhere to be found at GZ so I ready a couple of previous logs and realised that it had been moved some 30m from the intended hiding spot. I commenced a search back towards the road and was very surprised when I actually found this large prize. I was pleased to hand it back to the CO who made sure that it was put back correctly. An eerie but magical place in the cold and rain.
The CO was on site along with other teams when I arrived. After an extensive search the cache was eventually found around 30 metres from its original position. Thee log was signed and the cache was passed on to the CO to be placed in its correct position. A magically decorated area in the forst deseves the favourite point I am awarding.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to nab on the crawl. As others have mentioned, cords seem out by around 30 metres,You dont need to head past the enchanted forest. Tftc.
Cords were way off but managed to find reasonably quickly with jaamc_3335! TFTC ??
I love these larger caches. And what an area to have it.Creek is running and the T rating is higher today given the rainfall. All in all, a great experience. Thanks for this one. All is well here.I visited 3 TB.
Cache has been moved back to 0m. CO supervised! Spoiler location pic. Dont move it!A fun find on the The Great Victorian Cache Crawl - a cache and event filled weekend!!Thanks micaparamedic and clear skies from TeamAstro. ?? *17 Aug 2024, Found @11:02AM, Find # 3860.*Thankfully the CO was not far away when I arrived. Others were leaving and had given a hint to the location of the hide. Well this one was a case of cache creep and not just by a little bit. Thankfully it was large in size and was located a few minutes later. A favourite point given here. **Thanks to micaparamedic for placing this cache.**
So good to see a large cache we had a lot of fun past the gnomes and then soon identified the cache. Names firmly embedded and off we went. in very good condition.TFTC
What a wonderful (wet) adventure. Slipped and slid our way to GZ. Many thanks - and a favourite for sure.
We bumped into alfetola at this cache after attending the 2024 Cache Crawl morning tea in Malmsbury and we found the cache together.TFTC
Owner maintenance, cache has been returned to the posted coordinates, it is now not 30 metres out.
This was great. I was a tad worried it was going to take a while to find the cache but after a little slippery searching, the cache way found.
Cache # 821What a beautiful walk/ride we got to enjoy from the nearby playground with the 4yo. We'd love to come back in summer! And then we arrived at GZ which was thoroughly enchanting and beautiful. We spent time wondering who might have put all this effort in. We easily found the cache about 30m from coords, and replaced it exactly as we found it, though we're not sure this was the original hide location. We were penless so didn't get to add our name to the log, which we'll do in future. Thanks so much for bringing us here, and for the hide
Really fun find and nice spot. Looked for 50 minutes and couldnt find anything, about to walk back to the car and saw some more gnomes which I wanted to have a look at. Found cache 40 meters away in another tree, left it there, the log book is a little wet but still in tact. Thanks
The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave us a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown us so many new and interesting places as weve chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached together and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Today we made our way across from Avoca to Broadford, stopping at anything that caught our eye along the way. These turned out to be all wonderful caches. After setting up camp in Broadford, we walked through town collecting any caches we passed along the way. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache and adding to our enjoyment.
I headed up to Dimboola for a CITO yesterday and did not realise it had been cancelled on Friday evening until I was checking what time it was planning on starting when in Stawell. It was cancelled due to the heat and the total fire ban as well.It was going to be hot picking up rubbish so it was for the best.I did some caching in Stawell and still headed up to Dimboola to do a small I Spy Series. On the way back I tried booking some accommodation for the night. After finding out that all of the accomodation is booked out between Stawell and Ballarat for night I stayed in Avoca for the night and now it is a different way home. After touring the Perydale historic area and finding a mine I got out of the bush only to find I was heading back in again but in a different direction. So Im back out of the bush again and hopefully for the last time as I have to get home eventually.Zig zagging my way around the backroads and finding random caches as I go.I have been here before and I got out safely but without a cache.Back to try again today and to try and tame what ever lives in these woods that effects so many people.I soon met all of the friendly folk that were minding the garden but they did not have much to say about this one.The treasure was soon spotted without disturbing the cache guardian. Thanks The Morris and micaparamedic TFTC.
In order to help break the curse of the enchanted forest, Genghicat and I brought coffee. It turned out insufficient. We weren't expecting a whole community. While some little people met us with expressions of delight, others were disgusted by the cheap instant variety we offered and mooned us. We sacrifice to the god of coffee, but our sacrifice was rejected. Pushing on further, we found the magical creek that sucks most people in, and crossing successfully, we signed the log. Even though our sacrifice was insufficient for the residents, we were allowed to pass unhindered back out of the forest and continue on our way. A fav point for this delightful cache. The forest truly is magical. Tftc
Had to take it back to near location as it had been dumped near the road. I placed it in the fork of an old willow tree just over small creek with a log in it.
Pleasant walk that resulted in soaked shoes and socks when I slid down the bank. Never mind, cache was an easy find. TNLN, TFTC
After a day in Castlemaine attending a CITO, event and a variety of caches, LeeLee started to head home in the traditional geocacher fashion...many detours. The detour here was so worth it a FP is added. But, let's backtrack to the experience. LeeLee set off into the Enchanted Forest in high spirits. She was greeted by gnomes, wizards and many wonderful displays. Photos taken, enjoying the surroundings, beautiful trees...LeeLee getting distracted again, let's focus there is a cache. ....oh but there's an amazing rail bridge! Another photo. Ok, time to get the cache then....mud..slip..in the drink, wet feet, scuffed elbow, cuts, couple broken nails, how did that just happen? The Enchanted Forest got me! Luckily the cache was easily found. Left some swaps. Enchanted forest =1, LeeLee =0Thanks The Morris. I really did enjoy the experience and washing my runners when I got home.
Quick find here. The Lumpy's and the geohound enjoyed the walk and the cache. Tftc
a friend showed me this one, thinking it was a time capsule. been to it multiple times, thinking the same. another friend told me it was a geocache and that started my geocaching days.
On our way home from our mini getaway, we couldnt pass up the opportunity to visit this enchanted forest and try and help King Ian rescue the beautiful young maiden Shelby. It really did feel like an enchanted forest. Trees, magical creatures and a picturesque stream to cross. Fortunately we found a log that made the crossing easy and thankfully I made it across without any mishaps.Loved this cache. Thank you The Morris and to micaparamedic for taking such great care of this one.
The snuggle muggle had to fly to Sydney today for work, so I decided to take the day off and drop her off at the airport. Little did I know that her flight was at 06:30 which meant we were at the airport super early.
So after I dropped her off I decided I would take an impromptu caching road trip up to [Bendigo](https://www.visitvictoria.com/regions/goldfields/destinations/bendigo) and cache along the way.
I was mainly focussed on trying to pick up some Large caches, Virtuals, [Jasmer](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2018/10/the-jasmer-challenge/) fillers, and then any of the [12 Days of Cachemas caches](https://www.geocaching.com/plan/lists/BMCDCJE?sort=name&sortOrder=asc&skip=0&take=20) or [2022 Victorian COTYA Nominee caches](https://www.geocaching.com/plan/lists/BMC8QYR?sort=name&sortOrder=asc&skip=0&take=20) that I came near.
Well when I saw that this one was a Large cache and with it only going to be a slight detour, I added it to my list.
The name *"The Enchanted Forest"* also sounded very appearing. So I was excited to stop and find this one. I ended up parking a bit further away, and enjoyed the beautiful walk along the path, with the sound of trickling water nearby making it an absolutly delightful walk.
I had only wished that I found this cache in the summer when all the trees were completely green, but the forest was still enchanting in it's only way.
However, as I got close to GZ I came across the real reason this forest was enchanted, as I was greeted by gnomes and elves and all sort of mystical creatures.
It was truely a sight to behold!
I then turned the corner and realised I had to cross a stream. Luckily, the water was low so it was just a quick hop over. Once I arrived at GZ it was then a quick search, before the lovely large cache was found and the logbook signed.
A big thanks goes to The Morris and [micaparamedic](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=4e2e9254-5ccb-4e8a-abd6-db309aab3990&wid=d81f0d21-c2b2-4e0d-b3ac-7b70f184f266&ds=2) for bringing me out to this beautiful location and sharing the magic of this enchanted forest with me! TFTC.

The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

We dared try our fate in the enchanted woods as we felt things were on our side. So we drove the PeuGEOt along De La Beche St and before long there it was on our left, the enchanted woods.
Gnomes, fairies princesses, you name it they were there. We walked deeper and deeper into the woods with civilization getting farther behind. We stopped and listened. The only sound we could here was the quiet babbling of the stream we were yet to cross. As a team Mrs Cogs and I crossed the slippery, muddy banks that were trying to draw us into the stream and no doubt to our doom. Success! we were across. Now to find the treasure we had come for. Eureka! There it was. We carefully withdrew it from its keep as we didn't want anyone to know we had found it. We opened it and withdrew the log and looked at the names of other brave souls that had gone before us and added ours to the list. Quietly we replaced it back in its keep and went to the bank of the stream. Again, we crossed and this time it tried even harder to draw us in. We then headed back the way we came. Or was it? There were no footsteps to follow as the ground had covered them up. We had to keep our calm and try and remember the way from when we came in. Past the fantasy village, step by step as we were sure we were being followed. Then to our relief the road, civilization and the PeuGEOt. WE made it but that was only on one condition. The ogres blocked our way and only ensured us safe passage on the condition that we send littlecogs with a peace offering of a wise owl. So stay tuned as littlecogs and little littlecogs may never return.
Believe me it really does look like an enchanted forest.

What a delightful stroll and lovely end point. We are young to have to come back again when there are leaves on the trees

After a DNF where the cache was certainly missing last time, it was a quick find after navigating the little creek this time. A nice sized cache here, found with Sorceysal and LittleBoss2. Thanks for replacing this great dedication to The Coffees
Quick find this time after a DNF last time with Bogonghazy. Sorceysal joined us today, but didn't need to cross the creek. Thanks for replacing, I've heard a lot about the Coffees from BH.
Out and about with bogonghazy and Littleboss 2. Thanks The Morris for a cache dedicated to the Coffees.
Driving home from kyneton I went looking to see what caches I hadn't grabbed yet along the way. This was one of three caches I pick up along the way today.
I parked my car at the end of the road and walked to gz as I read the story in the cache description. Rounding the corner, suddenly everything made sense.
Everything except for where was the cache?
With gps jumping around I was pretty certain I knew where I needed to be but with all the rain recently I saw no way of getting there. Wandering around in circles it soon became clear that I had to find away.
Still unwilling to make the leap and be wrong I sent a message to the CO to confirm my suspicions. Which were correct but I had already found the cache when he got back to me. Thanks for the response though
Not being able to find a way across I reluctantly started back towards my car and as I walked over the bridge I thought, maybe the best way to get out of the enchanted forest is to leave the path. Climbing over fallen logs and fighting with dead blackberries I somehow managed to get through the forest atlast at GZ!
Thanks The Morris for bring me to this spectacular location and Thankyou Micaparamedic for maintaining the cache and getting back to me as soon as you could.

Couldn't find. Potentially found tin but full of water so not sure if wrong area or if tin has just been emptied of content.
What a spooky little forest. The cache is at the posted coordinates but the lid of the container had been removed. The log book was still there in tact. Signed it and replaced lid.

I went in to have a look for this one and then notice the previous DNF logs, I had a quick look around but didn’t stay too long as you can see how high the water as been through here recently so it is definitely worth a check up.
**Thanks to micaparamedic for placing this cache even though I couldn’t find it.**

Sadly despite an epic mud soaked search it was no luck for us today. Hopefully we will be back through again another time and can try this oldie again then
Nibletricecakes and I searched for about 20 minutes. There looks to have been a lot of water thru here recently so perhaps it has been washed away?
What a find. You wouldn't want to come here at night, it would look like a spooky scene of a cult!
Pen ran out so unfortunately could not sign our names. Thanks for the cache

Following the previous two logs, I went to check on this cache. I found it to be where it was supposed to be, in good condition and all contents intact.
Found box overturned and full of water caught on 2 branches down a small stream of water.
IdiotLairds found it!
@1312 on 3 SEP 2022
Was a little muddy an overgrown track, but we got there in the end! Honours go to Hannah again, good job!

Probably looking for this in the dark and wet wasn't the best idea but we did eventually find it. I must admit that we went and looked for another cache nearby and came back to make the find. Thanks for placing this cache.
We had a look but it was rather cold and wet so decided that we would have to dnf for this visit. It is only after we found another nearby cache that I noticed how old this cache was. Back we went and this time, made the find. Thanks for keeping this old cache going.
New water and tear resistant log book has been placed in the cache. Other water logged books have been removed.
On the way to visit friends in Castlemaine, stopped at Malmsbury to buy one of their yummy cheese and cauliflower pie. Decided to stop here to let Geopuppy out for a run...gosh, so glad I did. What an absolutely beautiful hidden gem. Gosh, with autumn leaves everywhere, I was certainly transported to an enchanted forest. A favorite, nor for the cache but for the location. Unfortunately, log saturated, but that's why one carries a gel pen!
the area is very overgrown - absolutley enchanting nevertheless!
log book is very wet however can still be signed. tftc

It was an effort but I introduced a couple of newbies to the game here. In fact it was one of said newbies who spied the cache first. We were in town for a wedding at the nearby venue on the hill, it was a great day TFTC
Cant wait to read the next ep of ian and shelby, hope they are living happily ever after, enchanted cache location too, thanks
Out and headed north since regional lockdown lifted. This was quite an adventure to access this thanks for the fun The Morris
The Redmonds trio, found in wet conditions, slippery conditions and some bramble scratches. Container a little damp inside, left a yellow emoji stamp.
A day to myself meant a Geocaching drive picking up some golden oldies and random caches along the way. Definitely a hidden forest here. Thanks for the cache.
Survived the Enchanted Forest with only a few scrapes and cuts. Took some searching, but eventually found the hidden treasure. Thank you very much
Just a tip. Go the long way to avoid blackberries and losing an eye on barbed wire. Good to do on Halloween.
TFTC. Just down the road from Danish Brie we stopped to explore the Enchanted Forest. No issues accessing the hide , followed the fence line in but came out the other way. Still clear.
Find #4774. Found @ 11:39 with TheGoodLadyWife and skirrel.
On a family getaway to Bendigo and surrounds. On the way home via lunch in Castlemaine, and this was on the way (sort of) to Castlemaine.
We stopped on the verge near the entrance to the forest, and TGLW, skirrel and I made our way to GZ, j-bean opted to stay in the car. Once near GZ it became apparent that the terrain was a bit harder than the others were prepared for, so I went on alone while they explored the forest.
I took the route along the fenceline, but had to contend with a tricky patch where I had to duck under branches, but also avoid having my face ripped off by barbed wire. I've just checked and my face is still there, so I must have done it okay.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache micaparamedic

Was going to give up but followed the advice of others. Thanks for bringing us to this spot!
A quick find once the previous hints were read. Really folks, follow the fence line!. Beautiful spot, absolutely beautiful! Kids really enjoyed exploring the area. Giving it a fav.
