Sadly we did not find this cache despite what felt like an epic walk to GZ, maybe we were tired by this point.

Woo hoo, the lovely Micaparamedic and I decided we would attend the June Long Weekend Event in South Australia (Edithburgh) and make the most of a road trip to the glorious Yorke Peninsula by spending a week away - NICE! [^]
We particularly enjoyed exploring Innes National Park and focussing on the new earth caches on the YP and in Burra.

A bit of a workout to get here, so wasn't going away empty handed despite being 14 months and another's dnf!
Found it rather exposed, the bush is appears to be windswept leaving cache exposed.
Re-hid under a nearby bush, with some cover, within a metre or so of where GPSr said it should be.
The outer tin is very rusty, and full of sand, but the inner cache is fine...

Thanks for the cache .Anja

Too hard for one set of eyes with the sun setting. But it was a fun walk through the dunes. Need like a dozen geokids to track this one down!
That was a hike!! We had a few friends along who were caching virgins!! TFTC!
Had a great walk from the surf beach car park along the walkway to the beach, along the beach (saw a pod of dolphins just off-shore) then into the dunes for a quick find. TFTC Anja.
Found this one after a short scramble (with a bit of sand in the eyes!) Great view from up there. Swapped a charm for a sticker. Thanks!
Todays drive was in the Innes National Park. We travelled with mccamob & pprass signed the log as DIMP.
Every corner we went around there were stunning views of the coast. It was the best day for caching loation wise in a very long time.
It was the guys turn to scale this sand dune, the comment was that it was quiet difficult.
Thanks for placing this cache .Anja

Found at 2:46 PM GAFF5 in the company of DiMorgan & maccamob - we signed our names in the log book as "Dimp".
Thought this was going to be a lot easier than it actually was [xx(] Not sure that we accessed GZ the correct way, but when we got to the top we were met with a lovely view across the bay with a boat fishing in the protected waters. We ended up going back the way we came up after scanning the area for a better access.
Thanks .Anja.

found and beautiful view... although very torn about having to walk off path but had begging small kids with me. I think caches in national parks unfortunately need to stay off the sleeping dunes.
Alas, today we were defeated by rain. We were 500m from the car, but still 300m from the cache when the rain decided that it was coming down. The wind had other ideas, and decided that the rain would be coming straight into our clothing, so we abandoned ship, and raced (or slipped and slid) back to the car. Another time maybe!
That got the heart racing...
Definately worth the effort and love making new friends.

So the adventure with FurfacesLL ladies, specimenX and myself had begun on the Yorke. We were here to attack the geo-art and what ever else we could get our hands on. 5 days of fun and games, many stories to be shared and a good weekend all in all
This was full day number 3, after a big day yesterday we were back out again to continue hitting the geo-art. Apologies for the generic logs.
It was out to the National Reserve to pick up some more caches after succesfully finishing the geo-art powertrails.
Thanks to all the cache owners who took their time to place the caches we have collected over this weekend. [^]

Found with Rapidly wild and the ladies of the FurfacesLL on our Yorke Peninsula geoinvasion extra long weekend. The objective: make the nab on the geoart and on as many others as our time and energy would allow Lots of fun and laughs and a great weekend all round!
We'd finished making the collect on the geoart so we were off to see the sights and collect some trads around the National Park. After heading back to Marion Bay for some dinner, we came back out to to continue with our beachside caching around the area
Well this one was certainly a geomission! We walked along the boardwalk and then made the long haul over the sand dunes-certainly was a workout but it felt good and it also felt good to have CIH at GZ! As were were making our way back, I saw emu tracks in the dunes by the light of the moon-certainly one of the highlights of my day!
Thanks for the hide, Anja

Our geomission with Rapidlywild and SpecimenX had commenced. This geomission had been in the planning since the new geo-art caches had been placed. The Canberra Day long weekend was chosen to give us enough days to collect as many as possbile. Our target is to get all of the caches in the art works and a few more if possible.
We finished collecting all the art and now it was time to take in the sights of the peninsula and the national park. It was dark by the time we arrived at this one. We took the stroll along the boardwalk and up the beach, found the access point and the fun began across the dunes. We were all very invigorated by the time we got to GZ. We thought about taking a more direct route back to the carpark but when we glanced over the edge we saw that may not be the best approach. So we decided to follow the emu trail for a bit and get back to beach. It was lovely to stroll along the beach in the light of the moon.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the caches we had a blast of a weekend!

3709. The cousin muggles and myself were staying at a shack in the Pondalowie fishing village, so this was a must do. I managed to convince them to join me on a walk along the beach. One of them stayed on the beach and the other joined me for the hunt. By the time we made it to GZ, the natural light had all but gone, so the torch on the IPhone came into play. The GPSr had us wandering around for a bit and we both gathered some scratches from the local flora. Soon the happy dance started as I spotted what we were looking for. It was a very pleasant walk back to the shack in the moon light and then a few cold brewskies.
Thanks .Anja for the cache and the very pleasant stroll.

Today was our day of caching in Innes National Park and surrounds. The views were fantastic and the day was lovely - not too bright and not too overcast either. We did have a little bit of rain toward the end of the day, but it all worked out for an absolutely perfect day of caching.
Tried taking the short way, but ended up needing to double back and taking the regular route. Took a little longer, but in the end got there.

Day six of my holidays, today on the Yorke Peninsulas. After yesterday's big effort, today was a slower, easier, more relaxing day, heading to Marion Bay. I came from the carpak and wasn't sure which end of the boardwalk was being referenced. So I headed from the near end and made my way to GZ for a quick find. I then returned the way I think I was supposed to have used getting there. The walk up the dune certainly got the heart pumping.
My thanks to .Anja for the cache and the walk.

this was to be our final cache inside innes nat park for the trip. great exercise getting up those sand dunes. tnsl tftc did find a small lizard living in the cover of the cache.
A lovely dune walk - didn't see any snakes, though we did expect to in todays weather. TFTC
Found during the 50th Birthday weekend Fishing Trip along with setsujoku, Team Waldron, Team Ermalesh & DJAJ.
Weather was against us so no fishing was done - thank goodness for all these caches close by!
Thanks to all who have placed caches on the beautiful Southern Yorke Peninsula

Found while on Yorke's for a fishing weekend (that didn't quite happen ) and to celebrate an 'OLD White Dog' [:o)]. Someone had way too many beans last night so hit the road with Setsujoku, TWDG, Team Waldron and DJAJ instead of the water.

Down at Marion By for 2 days of fishing charters.
Unluckily thw eather didn't play the game and we didn't get to hit the water.
What else to do but go for a drive and pick up a few caches..
Thatnks to all who placed caches as we went to some spectacular spots around the bottom of YP and in Innes NP.

Bit of a climb but we did it just as the sun was sinking. Great view and worth the climb. TFTC
We found the nearby Tipsy Dog last year (seems like only last night, oh yeah it was!)
So this was our first cache for 2013, and no, we slept in tents not in dunes.
Sebastbat and I traversed the track we did last night, and found a few animal tracks through the dunes to follow. Soon we were joined by emus, roos and of course those flies and ants...
I'm sure getting to this one was my workout for the month, more sliding than walking forward and up, but we made it to gz in pretty good time and found the reward!
Left a little Lock Bug TB here. It's been all over the world and should unlock many more amazing adventures for those who seek it out. Plus we figured if you get this cache you deserve a prize for effort.
Day three of roadtrip on YP with geosons Timotatus (L driving) and Sebastbat to bring in the New Year!
Thanks for the fun and entertainment cache hiders. Happy New Year

Had transport duty for the Bleden Venturers who were doing a Marine Litter Survey camp at Gleesons Landing. This gave me a day and a half to get some caches on the bottom end of the Peninsula that need a walk in and I had been leaving for later - well now was later
Wasnt this an expedition. Only 190 metres from the carpark but it would have been closer to 1.5 km by the time I made the trek in and out. TFTC.

Definitely a trek up to this one. Took pathtag. Sliding down the sandhills would be a much faster way to get back down and I have to admit to taking a couple tumbles in the soft sand. Thanks for the experience and the fabulous view from the top.
Our 1st DNF today.
We spent quite some time here at around 12:49:00 PM, but couldn't locate the cache. We guess the shifting sands have done their job too well.

No luck today too many muggles sand boarding down the sand hills looked like fun but I don't know about the sandhills being damaged.
09:37:00 Not realising we were walking past the entry point we headed off to Tipsy Dog first before coming back for this one. Phewww hard work up the climb to GZ but the view this time of the morning was worth it.

Rocky Glen Grommets approached from the beach - cache was soon in hand - saw emus and a snake on their travels - luckily Grom1 didn't decide to do a Steve impersination (whew!) A little difficult to open at first.
Surfers paradise - plenty of wanna be surfers here today. A pleasant walk along the boardwalk with RGG. Thanks Anja
3540. [font=Comic Sans Ms][green]Probably the hardest terrain of the trip but worth the effort for more fantastic views. Of course this cache gave me a chance to prod Mr Winglen for the rest of the day about not doing the pissed pup cache. The going was so much easier on the way back.

We made our way across from the boardwalk rather than from the beach, as suggested. The recent rain made the sand more firm underfoot, allowing an easier walk than it would have been mid summer. Relieved the TB as this cache doesn't appear to get many visitors. Thanks Anja.
Rob and I combined this one with tipsy dog and did a big loop through the sand dunes.
A warmish afternoon with the sun reflecting off the sand.
Rather sorry my sunglasses went by the wayside back in Minlaton
Thanks Anja
The outer tin is not baring up well at all, in fact it rusted shut.

Didn't realise there was a child waypoint for this, and as there was no obvious route from the beach, decided to leave this one well alone.

Found by Mary & David at 1405. The dunes were wide awake today as we met Margieh and Dazzatron just after they had done this one. Enjoyed the walk, the vegetation, the sand and the views from GZ. Our thanks again to Anja.
My second attempt at this one last year ran into a snake half way there so wanted to get it for sure this year so after a climb up the dunes we found it. TFTC
We tried this one last year and ran into a snake, so made up our minds to do this before it got too hot.... Took the shorter route to GZ this time and no snakes... Some lovely sand dunes in this area.... Tin was a little rusted and dented, but managed to get the lid off and sign the log.... Another cache just up the road should I walk to this or drive...??? No drive.... Tks Anja for the cache
Found during SYP blitz. Now for a couple older than you young lady with kids younger than you with far more energy than us, this was quite the trek and certainly took it out of us whilst the kids ran up and down the dunes. The tin that the cache was in was rusted shut so a bit of force was required to open it. Beautiful location & TFTC
Could someone please verify that my TB is still here. I'll pay to have it shipped back to the states
Wondered how it was called "Sleeping" Dunes.
Now looking at the clues, I understand

Came to this cache directly from Tipsy. I was wondering what the structure up the beach was as we were walking towards it. It looked like some sort of internment camp. Found the cache quickly and we made a beeline for the closest car park then walked back along the road to the cache wagon. Thanks

hot day to find this one...sand was insanely hot, with hot wind, but got there and found quickly. TFTC
This would have had to have been one of the toughest caches to obtain. Burning sand, strong winds, and flies everywhere, including march flies. Top view though.

A nice big sand dune to climb up and then we were able to enjoy the reward of beautiful views at the top. The cache had to be replaced. Thanks Dylanja and Freddo for climbing the dune twice in order to get a replacement container.
We made our way up from the beach, through the dunes, to a nice high point. Unfortunately after a bit of searching, it was decided that this one had been lost to the sands of time
A replacement container was sought, and the log was signed, before shifting the container to a slightly safer spot

We did the board walk and got nowhere so headed through the dunes until we came face to face with a big Black snake...we quit and ran. Maybe another day when it is snowing.....!!!
Got within 90 meters of the cache but seen a Big Black Snake so gave up and ran. Maybe Next time Maybe!!
I decided to cut across country from the carpark. But still took a picture of the board walk. Yep, as the pics show, I kept to the board walk

Found the cache at 12.50pm. Wow!!! I can imagine how feel if I stay there for overnight with full moon. It would be beautiful??? BUT I won't dare it. SL. Thanks Dylanja for organising the cache and hunt.
We followed the boardwalk, and in the end decided it had nothing to do with the cache so started off cross country, this one was nasty!! Cheers. MODU.

found after a short walk from our camp - one thing for people to be aware of is ticks - introduced with some reintroduced wallabies into the park , these little buggers will get under your skin - literally - so be carefull when walking through the scrub .Took spider left freddo gnome
I spend what seemed hours on this one.
The joys of only having a cache description and no logs.
It can be for an interesting experience.
The previous night I had walked the length of the boardwalk in the mistaken belief GZ was near a boardwalk given the listing "stay on the beach until you see the end of a boardwalk". Once at the end of the boardwalk I walked down the coast towards Pondie in the belief there must be a second boardwalk. 300 metres later still nothing and no closer to the cache so I went back to the car park to look for another path but no joy.
So slept on it and tried again in the morning.
Not sure what the difference is with the dunes next to the boardwalk as opposed to the ones next to the beach so headed out to the indicated GZ.
Couldn’t see anything at GZ and didn’t think I was in the right place. For me hiding behind a bush next to a boardwalk and running away I could understand but running away from this GZ would have been an interesting experience in the dark. So I gave up and drove off to shell beach.
Found a spot with mobile coverage and called Mrs Parrot she looked up the logs and confirmed I was in the right spot But need to go look away from GZ.
Did the Shell cache and returned. Given my experience with Annie I should have widened my search area the first time because it was there all along. Amazing how you can convince yourself out of a find. Just shows if you stick with it you will get it in the end.

My Co-ords were - 35 13.778 136 50.924
A quick and easy find by the Wacky brat boys had me signing the log in no time - TFTC
Very easy find for me, brat boys off you go whilst we chatted in the car park - they got to see a lot of local wildlife on the way which they were both pleased and not so pleased about, we got see some surfers! TFTC
Bugger, we should have head for this one first, we would have had the FTF, have to settle for third or fourth now.
Our little 6 year old muggle was the finder, we had great fun mucking around on the sand dune as we headed down to the beach. One bush west from GZ.
Cheers from Tha Barra's

Great find by Master Darko, jump over the dunes, unfortunately may have lost Master Darko's stylus for GPS but was a great find.
The 2nd FTF of the day. Horid bush bash in from the north, exit east and then north was much nicer. Snakes live nearby..
I reckon people have about a month before this is buried by the shifting sands.

Damn! One heck of a cache! It would have been a FTF if we found it on our first visit. Zytheran confirmed the cache was there (as he got FTF) so we ventured there again and settled for silver.
First night we where there at midnight, rain was pelting down, wind gust of million miles an hour, sand blast so painful we had to walk backwards. We approached the cache from the boardwalk side, followed by couple of hundreds metres of "careful" bush bashing.
Next day we came back it was the loveliest day out there, sunny, just perfect! Too bad the cache was in the next bush over as to where co-ords pointed out!
