Cache was soaked and has been there a while now so thought it time to archive it. It did manage to survive a few good floods and some heavy pruning in it's time!
Well, I thought, 30min to spare - and just as I parked my car, a muggle arrived with her dog & st down for a smoke, right near GZ. I shall return!.
Found on a beautiful sunny morning. Log book VERY wet and could do with replacing. Left Teh Fed TB.
The Chisnall Family are proud to report our first geo cache in christchurch and what a great first one to find right beside our daughters school. It took 3 attempts lol they joys of starting out.
sooooo much fun for the family look forward to many more to come.

Walked to this cache from another one nearby as I had to wait for a muggle to leave the other GZ. A quick search and the cache was found. Nice one, TFTC, Biggles.
Much more luck here second time around. Gps took me straight to it. Hard to miss it really with the damage to vegetation
Am I pleased or what to finally get this cache. This time around the GPS took me straight to it. TFTC.
Surprised to find this still where it should be after the recent floods in this area. Not too many muggles about on such a cold day but plenty of ducks and gulls.

I suspect McPhan may have forgotten in the blur of multi-caching that we (Team McWindeLuneX7) had an earnest discussion here with some Indian ladies about caching, flax bushes and goodness knows what-all. Sorry ducks, nothing from us for you today! Thanks Rincewind3_junior.
It's funny how things turn out. At this location we were confronted with the inevitable flax leaves, and a bunch of muggles on or approaching the bridge. A group of teenage girls came up and asked us whether we were searching for the thing using the computers. They had seen a previous cacher searching, and assured us it was there not long ago. Actually that turns out to have been two months earlier, but it gave us the encouragement to keep searching and bingo we had it. TFTC in a pretty spot.
Directed from the bridge as my companions engaged in conversation with some locals who new what we were up to..
Yes suprised the cache is still there considering so close to the waterway.
Thanks for the cache.

Another riveside placement and another quickish find and we were on our way. Not a great day for the ducks, they would have better served a few days later.
Thanks for the cache.

3085. [font=Comic Sans Ms][green]Nice placement along a nice, and very wet, river bank. Didn't take us long to grab the find. A few ducks around today but no one else to be seen.

TFTC - TNLN SL - finally found at the spot I checked once before but not carefully enough. That particular spot there has been material cut away from it and may need to look for a new home for cache on offchance Council muggle or others find it.
At first sight appered that GZ had been thrashed about a bit, however the cache was still there and well hidden. TFTC
Friendly ducks muggled me, but left in a huff when I produced no bread for them. Nice little spot too.
TFTC!

Found at last! One or two searches had proved unfruitful, but I should have looked more carefully. Good hide. Thanks.
found it at last with Emily and Blen. Still there despite heavy trimming of the vegetation. +dino thing. TFTC

Couldnt find this one, might have to return again. Searched through a few places, but couldnt see anything.
I had to wait for people to wander past and some bread for the residents would have been a good idea. After some time while I could ponder where the cache could be, I was able to move in and grab it. Cheers!

A quick find with Yeetrees and maklacycle in a nice spot, before heading off to today’s main event, the Cachers Garden Party.

Found with YuGeo4 and maklacycle in a nice spot, a few muggles about but doing their own things, cache was in hand pretty quickly and returned back to it hiding hole before heading off to today’s main event, the Cachers Garden Party. TFTC TNLNSL (1173)

Parked closeby and made a quick find while a whitebaiter was taking a break in his truck. TFTC.
We had tried for this cache earlier in the day but a white-baiter was right by it. He had moved over a bit so away we went found quite easily on the pretence of picking buttercups.Little Horrible was really interested in all the wiggly fish in the mans bucket.
Well we found it instantly several months after our first search for the cache which we're now convinced was AWOL at the time ! Thanks for the Cache.
A fairly easy find, although we were almost caught out by a couple of Halloween dressed children crossing the bridge. TFTC
Takes me back to my childhood. I used to get books from the near by library ... ah those were the days
We were trying to get out of town, but we just kept getting side-tracked. We said that we would not do any more unless it was within 20 metres of the road, so what came up next ........ There was a variety of bird life around, but we did not have any bread unfortunately. Annie made a quick find.

A lot easier to find than our first attempt in the rain about a month or so ago! TFTC
10:35 - third find for the day. The ducks were very friendly. Left pengiun and badge
Promised to find during playground conversations, lovely spot, go the mighty Opawa!
a easy find which was great our 12 year old found it frist which made him feel great
Womble- b went to Opawa School a long long time ago.So memories came flooding back. She got the strap there for talking in class, and has never stopped since.T N Left a Green Dice.
Found while my son enjoyed taunting the ducks!!! A lot of rubbish in this area. Did our bit (CITO) to clean up some rubbish. It always bemuses me how so much rubbish can be left when a rubbish bin is only 4-5 metres away!!! TNLNSL TFTC
Second time to this cache - found it after looking in some new areas.
Picked up Jeep TB. TFTC.

Went to check on this as the flood waters have been pretty high lately. Found that all is well - it's definitely still there, and even seems dry inside!
Keep looking.
Keep looking.
Sadly me thinks this Cache is no more. Spent 20 minutes searching all around the solitary flax bush within 5m of the fabled location, but no joy. Suspect recent floods have swept this away
Tide in, River in high flood. I reckon if I'd been a fish I'd find it. Maybe another day I'll go back to prove.

Followed the obvious signs of previous hunters, but gave up once I stood in a canine offering!
School holidays have an advantage! Found after a wee while, GPS showed some funny directions and we were not dressed for swimming (and the Heathcote would not be our favourite pool). TFTC
Yes a good challenge. Personally I hate flax/toe-toes et al and think that cachers who hide stuff in them should be made to eat them!! However, that's caching I suppose.
Not as easy as it seemed from the description, well not for us. But it was found in the end without rousing suspicion. TNLN TFTC.
The gps and the hint were both pretty good but it still took me a few minutes to get this one. As I was logging, a knowing muggle stopped by to say hi. She may join up yet, and has a head start on one cache at least.
Tried this morning, not found, will try again when water is lower. Lot of walkers around.
Got muggled big time by the mini muggles!! Ange had to make a hasty retreat up the bank lol. Found it very quickly this time, 2nd time lucky. Not sure how I missed it the first time lol. TNLN, TFTC.
Visited last year with an overseas caching buddy and DNF'd. Finally got around to getting back. Water was lower this time, which I think helped.
For awesome fun, toss a whole tortilla to the ducks.

Started at this cache today but a muggle was sitting at GZ, so came back on the way home. Cache is safe but don't know for how long as a young tree has fallen sideways very close to it & we couldn't resurrect it or redirect it so if any maintenance is carried out, the cache may be in danger of exposure. Really nice spot to have bread & quackers. (6/6 in the area for the day)
Looks like I was following La Vista around the city today, great to find this one today without Coords, 3rd time lucky, yes!!!
TFTC, cheers.

So many seagulls I thought I would see Alfred Hitchcock doing a cameo any minute.

Searched for ages but didn't find it. Even cut my head looking around bushes. Water very high and rising quickly while we looked. Couldn't see many obvious spots for hiding the cache, specially not around what the clue was hinting at.
Have been around here in the past but had no luck. On a revisit today, a quick find. TFTC
Found it! After a bit of searching in the wrong places, we stumbled across it ... took out a poker chip and left in it a party popper (unpopped!). You'll be happy to know that the cache was completely unsoaked!
TFTC it was our second one!

Yep, had to wait for a dog walking muggle to finish up then a fairly quick find.

I have struggled with muggles several times here; once at five in the morning. Was passing on my bike and saw GZ muggle free. So I am pleased to log this, well hidden, cache.
#454 (5/7 on a South chch day). A pretty quick find. Troodles didn't enjoy coming across a dead duck in the bushes a few feet from the cache. Took “STAN THE STARFISH†Geocoin and Murphys Paw
After finding the dead duck, my enthusiasm for searching in the undergrowth plumetted, so was pleased when StreetWalkerNZ found it.

nice quick find on a nice warm night dropped in Stan the starfish and the SPCA TB, picked up the USA Geocoin TFTH
All up and running again, with a new logbook a pencil and pencil sharpener. Also dropped in a geocoin to reward the FTF (the new logbook).
Well it just goes to show - you shouldn't put your cache back out just before a snow day! I suspect that is where all the water came from. Will head round today to pick it up & dry it properly (again)...
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but although we found the cache no problem today - it had about an inch of water in it. Everything was soaked including the log which we could just write in. We tipped out the water but didn't have time to wait for everything to dry. The lid appeared to be on correctly so not sure why it's leaking. Thanks for the cache. -geocoin.
Container replaced with a 400ml Sistema camo painted. Log book dry, new pencil & silica gel sachets.
No swaps in here now, better for small TBs and geocoins. On that note I dropped in a World Ploughing Coin for the next to find it.

No wonder I couldn't find it - just thought it was because of the nature of the hide - didn't have the last and most important owner log - luckily I only gave the search 3 minutes because of the hiding spot. Perhaps behind the nearby horizontal timber would be a better hiding spot.
As previously mentioned, this cache is getting a little ratty. I've taken it home to dry the book & will replace the container with something more suitable.
Thankyou for that cache, we found it easily in a gap in the parade of muggles.
It really could use a couple of new plastic bags and maybe a new lable outside.
TNLN, TFTC. No sign of the TB
Thanks,
S.t.

As I approached the site I thought I might have trouble with this one but found almost instantly.
Another one for Mr.
We were entertained by the police and a car trying to feed the ducks!!!
