What an interesting place! The cache itself took a minute or two - somehow the right place got overlooked. Thanks!
Found this one with TTO1 and TTO2 today. TTO1 and I are touring New Zealand with TTO2 for a couple of weeks and our travels brought us by this cache. So, we just had to stop and find it. Were really enjoying our visit and have been exploring lots of cool spots. Im sure that we will still have a lot that we didnt get to see on this trip, so I look forward to coming back again some time to see some more of this beautiful country. Thanks for the fun!
Making the trip back to Te Anau after an exhilarating boat cruise on the Milford Sound fiord with chooknchunk we managed to pick up a cache or 3 along the way.We had cache blindness here, we are not sure why but after looking in one spot we turned around and there it was right in our face. Thanks kev n chris for the placement.
Day 4 of our NZ mega mega holiday with The_Tritonz: Today is all about Milford Sound. After spending the morning on a spectacular Milford Sound cruise, we slowly wound our way back to Te Anau via the other sights of interest along the way. We enjoyed reading the history info and looking at the old structures here. TFTC ZL4DH and kev n chris.

Our last stop on the side of the Milford Rd today. We were going to stop there on the way in but had just passed a few slow vehicles and didnt want to have to attempt to pass them again. On the way back we had time to read the boards and enjoy seeing the relics. No problem with the find.Thanks.

We visited the old flour mill whilst we were here. Interesting history about the site. Found the cache in the second place we checked. Nice sized container. As others have mentioned the log book is full. Added some new log sheets. TFTC
The coords are accurate, and the box is hardly hidden, so a quick find. Logbook is full.
Working I the area and tried to picture what a peloton Wheel looked like. Didn't have to imagine anymore after arriving here. Not a soul in sight and and easy find. TFTC!
We stopped here on our way to Milford, lovely spot and interesting history. Thanks!

G'day from Australia!!!
Stumble Trip had been in NZ for the past 6mths, working on the Milford Track. Stumble's Mate flew in to meet up with her and we spent the next 2wks traveling the beautiful South Island in a camper. Whilst the weather wasn't favourable for the first week, we had an awesome time and travelled some 3,200+kms, seeing some beautiful sites and staying in just as beautiful campsite along the way.
Thanks to all the CO. Unless otherwise stated, all caches were found in good condition.

Day 10 of our South Island adventure and a quick stop of on our way back to our accommodation after a big day out exploring. Thanks for placing this one.
Very interesting place. Left a trackable that would like to travel from cache to cache . TFTC
First I searched at the wrong place, but later I found the box. It’s a bit wet inside, but the paper is okay. Thanks for the cache.
I think I might have gone to another cache in the back blocks which featured a larger Pelton wheel. Oh yes I did, Dynamo Hut. A cache there also. It had 2 Pelton wheels of 2m diameter so this one is quite small. Good hideyhole though. Thanks! #8708
️ Parking ️ was wonderful. It made finding this cache really enjoyable. A glorious day in today. I enjoyed the sun while geocaching . I can't believe that wheel still spins.
Very nice find I love the engineering of a pelton wheel. Turns a low volume of high-pressure water into energy. Modern power plants use large volumes of low pressure water, so Pelton wheels are not used anymore.
A very easy find in an interesting historical location. Beautiful spot in the sunshine today. Thanks for placing this one.
Our first sunny day at fjordland. We found the history of the station and the waterwheel that still worlds very interesting.
On our way to Milford Sound. A good place to stop and have a break and have a look at where hikers come to start their journey on the Milford track. Interesting history and thanks for the cache.
I like these caches that show the history of a place. A favourite point given. Thanks
Found this cache on the scenic road to Milford Sound. Muggels were around but left soon so we could log. TFTC!
Wow! Just thinking about the settlers and how they lived here. Next stop Milford Sound!
On the way from Te Anau to the Milford Sound we stopped here and found the Cache. D and T should be 0,5 higher.

We are on holiday from California mostly traveling by camper van around the South Island. Today we are on our way from Te Anau to Milford sound, but couldn’t pass up a stop at this end of the Milford Track and a chance to see a bit of local history. Gets a favorite for marking an otherwise easy spot to miss. Thanks.
Heading to Milford Sound for the day with a few stops of course! A lovely autumn day all be it a bit chilly we were lucky to not strike any rain along the way...just colder and colder the closer we got as the snow on the hills got closer and closer. A cool wee spot here and cache was found without any problems at all. Enjoyed looking in the sawmillers hut and plenty of photos taken here! TFTC
Found this one today after a neat morning out on the lake catching a couple beautiful brown trout

Its been a long time in the planning but finally the week long trip to the South Island to complete the Routeburn Track is here. Day #2 and a trip to explore Milford Sound. Have wanted to do this for AGES so it was great to finally be here. After an amazing experience at the Sound (it was POURING when we started and then the sun came out...like 2 total different places) we stopped along the route back to TeAnau.
Interesting little spot here to explore.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for placing this here- a chance to read about local history! Found with Piwaka54 on our epic southern adventure.
A big thanks from my little one for this cache. Loved the place, the wheel and cache itself. Easy find!
Making our way south and enjoying the quiet roads, weather has been amazing, thanks for the placement.
On our way on to do a Milford sound boat trip on a 3 week South Island tour. This is day 5. Tftc
Decided that as our wedding anniversary was on a Saturday that we would celebrate with a day cruise. Its taken us 6 years of living in Southland to get here, and I wanted to do this before Aucklanders are released from lockdown next month.I got the cache and investigated the hut while hubby played with the bits of machinery left. Apparently the one closest to the lake is a dynamo - I had a dynamo on my bike back when I was a uni student.
Thanks for the cache ZL4DH and kev n chris)
