This one was quite an adventurous cache! Because of the steep terrain we left the kids and the backpack behind and realised too late that the pen was in the backpack. So it is a photo log instead. The Waite Conservation Area is beautiful, I am so happy to have come here! Many thanks for the cache!
I agree with that terrain rating!!!!
I came from above - was there any other way?
Awesome views.

I headed to Waite Conservation Park for a walk and ended up finding a few caches on the way around as well. I don't think I took the most logical route and on occasion I was doubling back on myself, but it was fun and good to stretch the legs. This was the first I found on the way around and, if I am being honest, almost one I avoided. It was with some caution that I commenced my search and I tentatively searched. Once in the right spot (which sounds a bit silly!) I saw the tell-tale signs of a hide. Dropped a TB here. TFTC Nibs & Auzee... quite the view from GZ.
Goodness I saw the terrain rating and knew where I had to go. Off I climbed down carefully and stood back to gauge where the cache may be. Saw something a little dodgy in the corner of my eye and sure enough it was what I was looking for. TNLN. Cheers.
Today, we decided to spend the afternoon of the public holiday walking part of the Yurrebilla Trail again.
This was a short detour from our intended route, but well worth it as there was definitely a cache worthy view. We knew from the terrain rating, where we needed to look and after a a bit of a search, found the right spot. We were glad to help Mattycat99 with the retrival, as it was a bit risky for their young children to be exploring and they were able to sign the log. A great spot - we are glad we took the detour!

Not sure if it’s not there but looked for a while and no find. Good view though
After an draining walk up the steep hill I finally arrived at GZ, down I climbed and found the nicely hidden cache. Cache and contents are all good
Today I decided to go for a walk in Waite Conservation Reserve to collect the caches in the area. Despite the hilly terrain 9km was covered.
Total of 20 caches for the day.
Thanks for the cache

This evening after work, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to Waite Conservation Reserve for a short hike in these hills overlooking the city. We headed up via Wild Dogs Glen Trail and had a few rest stops whilst making our way to Harold's Lookout, and enjoying the views. We were following the *Wonderful Waite Walk* multi-cache as a guide, and made a loop on the top, before heading down along the same trail. An enjoyable evening out and a hidden location that most Adelaideans are probably aware of its existence.
We made a stop here at Harold's Lookout, and after admiring the view, we started searching around. It was one of those spots with many nooks and crannies at GZ, but was also magnified by possible vertical rock face hiding spots. I managed to spot a way down after exhausting many spots on the uppoer part of the lookout, and then found the large sized cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Nibs & Auzee for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/@jesswrigley stamp.

Fantastic spot for a cache thats only taken me 13 years to find. Well the child happens to be 13 years old now, so thats my pitiful excuse for not being here earlier. School, Sports etc doesn't leave a lot of time for caching. However due to COVID19 all sports is cancelled and we had some free time today to go for a walk in the Waite Conservation reserve and find a couple of caches. This was the highlight of the day, and therefore deserves a shonky favourite point.
Thanks Mr Nibs, always well worth the hike to find your caches. Two thumbs up.

Incredible spot. Almost gave it a miss as I thought it was way down the hill, but turning on OSM maps made me realise there was a path straight to it. Believe it or not, this is my first ammo can out of over 200 caches. TFTC!
Thanks nibs and auzie for this cache. Overtook s walking group to get here before them. Once at gz I realize no walking group coming here. Great views
Felt like doing some hills today, so went for a caching expedition after work today at Waite - and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Approached this one from Fox's Lair cache, so it was a careful walk on the side of the hill, but when I got to GZ the views were simply magnificent across the Adelaide Plains. Searched around for a minute before finding a suspiciously placed rock and there was the cache (nice sized container too). Log signed and fav point for the adventure to get here and the view!.

Quick(ish) walk to grab after work. The legs and heart got a bit more of a pounding than they are used to of late. I found it strange that at the beginning of the trail they say keep to the path yet put a sign board over near GZ. Made a quick find once I got there then enjoyed the view. I wasn't too surprised to come across an echidna on the walk but did not expect to encounter a deer. TFTC.
Long search for this one!! But I'm soo happy i found it. My first ammo tin! The swag was a good connection but it could do with some more . What an awesome adventure. I always forget to turn on the satellite viewing. That helps so much lol. I have taken the TB to travel with me. TFTC ....EC
Unfortunately DNF.
Public holiday is always good for hiking and caching. Today our targets are Waite Trail and Waite Arboretum.
Tried 6 caches on Waite Trail, but only found one. This was the second DNF. But nice view.
Will try again next time.

Up Down Up Down / Valley Ridge Valley Ridge... Boy! The Calories I added at last night's awesome and fun GIFF event in the city, are all being erased via intense exercise [:o] [^] I love it though, the Waite Conservation Reserve is a great place to go Caching and this one didn't disappoint After a bit of Mountain-Goat activity I soon had the nice sized Cache in hand and was signing the log to stunning views. I must have sat here for about 30 mins just taking it in and taking pics [^] Eventually got around to SL at 10:30 lol Fri 3 Nov 2017. TFTC Nibs
Found while on a hunt for my last unfound traditionals in the Waite Conservation Reserve.
Nice to find an ammo tin, seems to be a while since the last one.

Half of muff1, AnyMules and Brisal5 headed out for an afternoon stroll, three sets of eyes are better than one when it comes to finding a cache. The cache is in good condition for this old timer. SL TFTC
Another great Pi day adventure. Met the usual list of suspected at the morning Pi event and discussed plans for the day. AnyMules and I had planned for a walk in Morialta but when Firesafe stated he need this cache to complete his D/T grid the plans changed. A happy bunch a me, AnyMules, Firesafe, Doctor Owl, Muff1 and AndyColumbia converged on GZ for that cache. Now where seeing we are already here! Decision made. Morialta out, walk around Glen Osmond / Mt. Osmond grabbing caches in. Unfortunately as AndyC was with child they decided not to join us. Well that was the morning. ! After lunch we split again with just Me, Mr. Muff and Anymules heading over to grab a few around the loftier sections above Waite whilst we did the multi there.
Our path took up up on top but the GPS said it was time to go over. We all took a different route and AnyMules found it right below where I was standing!
Thanks Nibs & Auzee for the cache.

Brad & Janet were looking for some company after the event today to grab a few caches in this area, when someone has worked out some puzzles how can you say no, and besides the weather was on our side and a good way to walk off lunch, its time like this you regret having a big lunch, the scenery up around these parts are amazing, i can still remember quite clearly when the whole "A dingos got my baby" hit the headlines.Brad did the honours here grabbing and putting the cache back and in the process he said some words i thought i would never hear him say after his finger was caught between the rock and cliff face ripping the skin right below his fingernail, i reckon i need to hide a cache called, "Help a rock has grabbed my fingertip" i wonder how long the blood droplets will last there before being washed away ? Thanks J&J. I notice that the note says there is a map on the back showing where you CAN park. Any chance you could include that image as well?
A fairly quick find while we were in the area logging a nearby trig station. I actually approached this cache from the east, which probably made it a bit easier. I could have gone on from here and found Fox's Lair, but we decided to leave that one for a future visit.
We parked in the recommended area, in between two other vehicles that were already there and we were not blocking the gate. We were very surprised to find an 'Incorrect Parking' notice on our windscreen when we returned to the car. Looks like you'll have to change your suggested parking waypoint to keep the hotdogs who run this joint happy. I'll include a scan of the notice we got.
All is nice and dry inside the cache, and the views from here were spectacular. We've viewed Adelaide from a lot of different aspects over the years, but there's a lot more vantage points to visit for us yet.
Thanks Nibs & Auzee.

Approached this one from the bottom after an afternoon filled with climbing hills all over the park, you'd certainly get fit pretty quickly if you did this every day! I have a broken arm so scrambling up the hill with one functional arm was certainly a challenge! Made it in the end though and it was worth it for the view! TFTC!
found it after work. I missed the parking co ords and parked at a different trail head, this meant I followed game trails 1/2 way up the slope to I found a proper trail that was must easier to follow. When I got to the top it was just coming on to sunset so the view was good. phones blown up so if I can retrieve a photo I shall upload one in the future.
Continuing on up the hill we dropped onto the old coach road but then dropped too low only to have to go up again to get to GZ. Some likely camo was spotted and it was nice to see an ammo can. Some great views on these steep slopes. We completed the signing duties and re hid TFTC.
Found on a Boxing Day trail run, perfect excuse to try out new gear/run off the christmas lunch.
Spectacular view from this point. I feel Waite is underrated. Thank you for the hide.

After Fox's Lair, we decided to take the shortest route possible to this cache - another mistake (will we ever learn) [?].
Did a bit of mountain goat climbing and found an couple of animal tracks that got us close , then took the direct route up for the final 20 metres [:o)].
A quick find. TNLNSL.
As is fairly common in caching, we took the easy way back to Wild Dogs Glen Trail .
Thanks again Nibs & Auzee.

After finding a fox it seemed only right I should get the dingo too.
Read the logs before about TM telling B&J where the snakes were.
Thought ... should I be concerned about that? Nahhhhh
I'd already seen a baby brown at the fox cache!
So took the way across the hillside from the bend in the track,
had a good search around gz and came up with the goods.
No dingos today
Carefully decided to have another go at an upwards departure from the cache gz,
this time with no critters in the way.
All in all a great place for a cache with awesome views.
Agree with the CO it's not all about numbers and how many you can do inh a row,
some days it's just the one or too you need to walk for that make it worthwhile
Nice to get some old ones too.

The DT grid search continues.
Having just grabbed a 1.5/4 down south this combo was the next target for the grid.
Fortuitously Tiger_Muffin works nearby and was happy to come for a stroll with me at lunchtime.
I forgot. T_M does not "stroll" when it comes to going up hills!
By the turning point of the climb I was no longer able to speak but was focused entirely on breathing and trying to stop the dancing lights in front of my eyes. T_M was waiting for me politely trying not to look too bored with the wait.
Apparently he runs up here for training on a regular basis.
Once my wheezing settled we set off laterally in the direction the GPSr indicated. Not too bad now.
And as we got close T_M waited to one side as I moved in to find a very nice large cache in the first spot checked. Love that!
TNLNSL
Had a rest and then headed back down the hill.
TFTC Nibs and Auzzee and thanks T_M for the chat and for the escort and for pointing out all the spots you previously met large snakes

Out for a wander with the Crisnix team this morning, and what a wonderful area to visit. A little detour of the main track to find this cache, but well worth it. Some great swaps for the geo-kis! TFTC Nibs!
Quick visit after many year gap. My 8yr old geokid with me today, was in a baby backpack last time I was here.
Thanks to Cache or Check for taking the trouble to go and find my cache here.
Only 2 hits in 2 years is a reflection of the new caching breed who'd rather drive down a road and pick up a cache every 20 metres for a 100 km, than go walking. Pisses me off! [:(!]

A beautiful afternoon for a couple of walks in the Adelaide Hills. A very underrated area this and not all that hard to get to.
With a juicy 4 terrain stars on offer it didn't take much convincing to take the small detour from my walk.
I can't believe I am only the second visitor here in 2 years!

Mr Tardis went for a lovely Waite walk on this cold morning. I managed to only get a light sprinkle of rain but more most it the weather was nice and cool and a beautiful place for a walk.
Some beautiful views at the GZ of this one. I came in from the top and found an easy way down to the cache. I checked a few likely spots and found a beautiful ammo box.

Teamed up with Team Scoobster and Just Cruizen for a day of caching in the area, after a few other uphill walks earlier the legs were feeling like jelly but we soon reached our objective with Mr scoobster making the find, another cache to sign with some great views TFTC
Found yesterday, logging today.
Spent a fairly long time climbing over the rocks and eventually found it! It was good fun looking! I'd love to find a 5* difficulty one like this!

Great hiking area and views to match but we ran out of time to go to the Fox's Lair seen in the distant ! we will be back
After the challenges associated with accessing 'Fox's Lair' we were pleasantly surprised to find that even though this cache is 4 star terrain rated it is so much easier and safer to access (especially with kids). We approached from above and an easy find was made.
The terrain rating had gone up a notch but I approached this one from a sensbile vantage point and soon had the prize. It has been a interesting walk along the escarpment today, picking up some great caches along the way. I found another adventurous route back to the car far below.

Came up on cache from below with kids in tow, a bit scarey, but great sence of achievement when we got there. TFTC
Out on a Family hiking day for the first time ever and decided to climb a hill.
Had just done a few a little north but when we came across this, I left the kids up on the path and down the gully I ventured. I SHOULD have walked around and followed the path all the way around but no, I did not.
This 4 star terrain should be a 5 minute danger, instead, I made it an Hour long 4 star operation climbing all over the whole rocky cliff side following the stupid GPS which continually crept all around the cliff making me search needlessly for something that was an easy find further around. I could have walked around the top of the gully and climbed down 1 Giant rock for an easy grab. Haha. I also got stuck on a dead tree leaning against one of the cliffs that I had to clambour down, It took my weight but as I was trying to slither between the branches, my bag straps got caught and I couldn't move, I somehow managed to twist around and push the strap out of the branch and drop to the ground.
Finally the GPS gave me the right place to search and I finally found it after nearly knocking myself out by an overhanging rock.
I climbed back up to the kids and husband who HAD walked all the way around to find me and as the sun was setting I decided to call it a day. We still had to make our way back down the hill with 2 slow kids on slippery paths. As it was, we missed the Ant hill that was at the opening to the small path taking us back down the hill and instead ended up walking to the bottom of the hill surrounded by high barbed wire fences ending up at a locked gate!
So, back up the hill about 300m and there was that Ant hill we somehow missed coming down and made it back down the hill rather slowly due to the kids learning how to traverse the decline with sticks and 'doing it themselves without our hands to hold them' just in time for them to have a quick 10 mins play on the playground while I sat and watched them in the setting sun.
Thanx for the adventure!!
Fave point just for the experience I had today!!

(Formerly DavMal60) Approached this one from "Foxs Lair" following the contours then a bee line to the cache. Nice to see a decent size container upon arrival at GZ. Sat on a rock and SL, then admired the great view for a few minutes before continuing to the next cache. TFTC Nibs
Probably didn't pick the best place to leave the path for this cache, but we got there after a while with careful steps. I don't like snakes so was quite put off when there was one in my next potential handhold about 18m from the cache!! I'm just lucky that was the only one we saw this trip! Once at gz the cache was in hand after a short search thanks
I don't even know what a dingo is. But as a baby and an avid camper, I'll be sure to stay well away from them if I ever see them! It was fun watching Daddy climb down the cliff twice; one to get the cache and bring it up, and another to put it back. We took a shiny travel bug. TFTC Mr Nibs.
With this absolutely fabulous cool December weather that we are really enjoying ( we hate hot weather), it was just perfect for a stroll through the hills. With better footwear this time (including gaiters for those pesky grass seeds) this really was a stroll in the park. Even though we only did 4 caches today, ones on walks in parks like this one are worth over 50 urban caches.

Perfect weather for tackling the caches up in these hills. After a steep climb and a visit to Waite Vista we made our way across to this cache. We had been rained on twice earlier but now the sun was coming out.
Mr S ventured the last 10-20m to the cache while Mrs S waited safely above. Great views.
Thanks Nibs and Auzee, we enjoyed our walk even if we did get puffed out.

Found with Hawthorn cubs, group consisting of Ian, Jeff, Jack, Rhys, Ben, Pat on Jeff's hike for his grey wolf. after some deliberation cut across to this one from Waite vista, and had some fun scrambling around searching for it, leaving the kids to search up top while i scrambled around on the cliffs of course. a word of warning to future cachers, do not proceed from this one directly cross country to foxes lair, you'll be in for some nasty cliffs and possibly scratchy jaunt through an olive grove to get home! TNLN, TFTC.
After some to-ing and fro-ing to find a good place to park (we were distracted by the detours) we eventually made our way to the start of the walk. A gorgeous day for a walk in an unexplored (for me) part of the Adelaide Hills. We eventually navigated our way towards GZ. I second-guessed the terrain rating and tried for some steeper solutions, before realising I should have turned left and not right on my clamber down. After doing a loop, I happened on the cache with SNP not far behind.
As I was signing the logbook, I noticed that we were being observed by walkers in the gully. Happened to meet up with them on the track as we made our way out of the area. They guessed that we were geocachers straight away (and it didn't seem to hurt to admit to it); the little girl seemed to have found some of the other caches in the area. After a short, awkward chat, they left to go pull out non-native plants (we saw them again later), and we left to go find some more caches.
Thanks Nibs .
