Reperio 18:23Travelled towards Canberra today with my Miss Vitruvius for the upcoming Capital GeoBashMega event, and we spent the majority of the day chasing geocaching series and power trails. We managed to replace a few containers and logs in different places, but for most of things, the caches were found in good condition. Taking the road less travelled from Goulburn to Canberra today and am loving the drive ... the countryside looks so since at this time of year!A quick stop here (and very much a random one as I'm not in the mood to make frequent stops) and a quick find. Thanks for the smiley.
found on a day out geocaching. finding part of the Tarago Series and surrounding caches with Whiteman98
This was 7 years old! Great fun finding it but went to the other side of road thinking it was there then realising we are
Found with WaywardWoman while caching in the area. Her phone has intermittent signal so will log hers later. TFTC
We have lived here our whole life’s and didn’t even know it was here! A nice little story from home.
Needed some numbers in the lead up to my next milestone. Teamed up with 154Crows to complete half of the Tarago Series. We had a successful day outdoors. TFTC!
Out on a brilliant morning picking up a few caches in the Tarago area. I think we snagged around eighty on the day without breaking a sweat. Thanks for all the caches.

Bit of a misleading hint and the bad fishy smell from the Canola suggests I don't hang around. All good with the cache, thanku.
Having met up with Three Kings at Maccas, we are having fun on a busy afternoon caching aiming for Bungendore before dark. Thanks for all your hard work placing and maintaining this cache Dusselaar1
Tftc,
A quick stop and grab.
I am a bit over 900 away from making 10,000 finds at 10 years of Geocaching on the 28th May 2020.
A decision was made to have a go. After all that has been achieved this year, there is still 5 months to get about 3 a day and a few Power trails will help.
Did maintenance on several Tarago Series caches ( #'s 8 - gave it a New log, 16 & 18 - replaced the containers) Also, 11 - needs a new lid and placement corrected.
For GC3WDMA we replaced the log.

One of the many geocaches on the annual Stumble's trip to Canberra (where we stay in NSW) but this time travelling from Goulburn to Queanbeyan via Tarago (pub grub and service is GOOD) and onwards through Bungendore.
Of the 241 caches attempted, 225 were "Finds" and 16 were DNFs. All caches in good conditin but generic log due to the sheer amount of how they blend into each other after a while. TFTC!

This weekend represents The Stumble's annual Canberra trip. We travelled from Goulburn through to Queanbeyan via Tarago (food and service is really good at the pub) and Bungendore.
Out of 241 caches attempted, 225 were "Finds" and 16 were "DNFs". All caches, unless otherwise stated were in good condition. Cache locations varied but those prickly trees were the WORST!! We did encounter a few unique hides which we have awarded FPs for.
We left a lot of swag along the way for the kidlets and deposited a couple of TBs that needed moving on.
To all the CO, TFTC and the (at times) challenges in finding them. Apologies for the generic logs but 241 caches blend in to each other after a while!!

Driving from Goulburn to Tarago. Picking up many along the way. Wish that wind would go away.
Finally catching up on logging caches that I had missed logging when we were in Australia. After arriving in rain yesterday it was good to see the sun, albeit cold day for some of our team. Thank you for putting out these caches. We are on a numbers run today.
Signed KCC or KC for Kiwi Caching Chicks (Infoferret, Jude_E, NosyNel, thedbees, Graciesgpsfun and me) who are Australia for the OzMuster. We are now on a road trip for 7 days. TFTC

Out in car number 2 for our big finding day with the Kiwi Caching Chicks. We are GraciesGPSfun , thedbees , Ethness, Infoferret , Jude_E and me Nosynel. We might sometimes sign the geocaches as KCs or TKCs. TFTC.
The kiwichicks have started working on this series and other caches in the area as part of an epic cache run which saw some of us grabbing over 180 caches on a bitterly cold day. We managed most of this series (a few were DNF's, others we missed as we were unable to park safely, and had heaps of fun!)
I was in the car with Nosynel and Jude E. When I signed the log it was written as Kiwichicks (Very occasionally KC if space was limited).

Today three of us - Infoferret, Nosynel and Jude_E, have the goal of finding 180 caches. We started at about 5.45am, finished about 8pm. Thanks for your cache. Sometimes I signed as KCC NZ and other times we signed as kiwi chicks - depended who had the pen! Thanks for the cache.
Thanks Dusselaar1 for placing this geocaches 7482 find for me. We six stayed in Canberra last night. Today is all about numbers. We are setting a challenge to see how many we can find on a day. We started out at 5:47am. 6am was the time we filled the car with juice. We changed the driver 3 times.
The time has finally arrived for a massive Australian road trip with The Kiwi Chicks. We are GraciesGPSfun , thedbees , Ethness, Infoferret , Jude_E and me Nosynel. We might sometimes sign the geocaches as KCs or TKCs.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Catching up with some late logs from the Mega.
Somehow or other over a few drinks the idea of getting an early start and trying our luck on some of the local power trails seemed to override the urge to socialism so we joined forces with alansee, gonefishen07,zobo4,muzza,the Drovers,phetlern,Au_fait & Andarka and headed off for what turned out to be an extremely enjoyable day out with friends old and new and a reasonable amount of caches were found to boot.
Along our way we stopped to do any other caches that popped up on the screen and this was one of them.
With with this many eyes it didn't take long to locate the cache and our names were added to the log before we returned the cache as we found it.
To save room in the logs we signed as Tc9(The Crazy Nine)
Thanks Dusselaar1 for the cache,

Bonus extra picked up while tackling the Tarago Series PT. Similar MO to many on the trail so just felt like another quick PnG.
On the 1st Aquilus1 and I were supposed to be first day of a three day adventure going deep into the Heart Of Darkness.... all the way through NSW to Bogan Shire to claim a multitude of counties... but (and there is usually a but) unfortunately I no longer had three days available, just two. So, last minute change of plans was for us go to the coast and go north, and see how we went. I even solved the only puzzle on the road before leaving.
So.... it ended up being a great loop, clearing out the road from Bungendore to Nerriga and going on to claim about a dozen shires. Clearing out an area is always slow going, but we were methodical... No Cache Left Behind as dubya would have said, despite the constant rain.... at least after Nerriga it was more a trip to claim counties than to clean out the map.
Late on the 1st we remembered that we should eat, probably before everything closes... luckily we found a Thai place in Berry that grumpily let us in while staring at the clock.... no mind! The food was great. Frantic internet searching looking for a motel then ensued while waiting for our dinner... all was well, we had fine lodgings awaiting us in Kiama.
On the 2nd the rain was looking like it was going to set in for the day as well, but we soon realised it was the fog that was going to be our nemesis.... it was unbelievable and downright scary... glad I wasn't driving! But, in the pea-souper, we somehow missed our turn to The Shire and ended up near Appin, no mind, we can continue in this direction.
Not sure I can even remember all the councils we passed through and grabbed a cache or two in, but here goes:
Queanbeyan-Palerang,
Goulburn-Mulwaree
Shoalhaven
Jervis Bay
Kiama
Shellharbour
Wollongong
Wollondilly
Campbelltown
Camden
Liverpool
Fairfield
Canterbury-Bankstown
Cumberland
Strathfield
Canada Bay
Burwood
Inner West
Sydney
Woollahra
Waverley
Randwick
Bayside
Georges River
Sutherland Shire
Wingecarribee
Nice area

With GreyHams we had planned to head out for a three day trip into NSW for some counties, all the way to Bogan Shire! We had 14 counties on the route but a change of plans meant only the two days were available so plan B had us heading towards the coast and up towards Sydney.
All a bit of a last minute change but all good, GreyHams had a plan! Off we set, we had 5 counties on the list and would see how many more we had the time for. The new route had us driving up towards Bungendore to Tarago and then across towards Nerriga to Jervis Bay. A good trail of caches and we searched for them all, a few DNF's but mostly a successful trip through with a variety of caches found and some really great locations visited.
The rain set in about Nerriga, light and steady, and we both ended up more than a little damp at times, super fun when looking for a cache in the wet bushes! Mostly we cleared a nice path along the way with a few caches down some side tracks, a few puddles to play with along them and the only Mystery along the way... Well thanks to GreyHams for knitting that one out!
Stopped in Berry for a nice Thai dinner and then on to Kiama where we stopped for the night.
Woke to more rain but continued on North stopping at each county along the way for a cache and anything else interesting. Thankfully the rain did end up clearing... in its place there was the thickest of fog to navigate through, no worries about that on the Motorway with the traffic and almost no visibility!
Slightly turned about in the fog we did end up off track but worked out well in the end with a new course set and off to conquer the counties along the way into and around Sydney. A surprising 25 counties visited in the end, much more than expected but happy with the result and a good couple of days away to do it in. Thanks to all the CO's for your caches, apologies for the generic log, any additional cache information has been added to the end of this log.
All okay here with this one.

I had caught up with SmittenGranny (SG) during the week and got talking about the little Tarago series that she tried to get on her own a while back so we decided to go out together today to get as many of this series as we could and the few other trads and still get home late afternoon. Such a glorious day for caching, and we were getting to the end of the day, we pulled over and found cache, retrieved log, sign and put back for the next finder. TFTC Dusselaar1. I had a great day
Out on a beautiful day with Darzee Di for my second assault on this PT. I was able to add another 41 smilies to my tally with only 1 DNF. Lots of fun along the way and we both thank all COs for placing these caches for us all to find. Our names have been added to all logs.
