Has not been seen for over six months. CO has been messaged but appears to no longer be caching.
yes I am another DNF but I thought id give it go ad I am ay bennett grove very close by.
Looked for this yesterday and found what I thought was the right spot, but no cache.
Came back today with a previous finder who confirmed that the location was indeed correct, but no cache.
Had a look around the area in case found and discarded by muggle kids but nothing found.
Needs a full replacement.

thought i hand found a likely spot, but just an empty hole. It was getting pretty dark so headed home. Lovely view from wp
Found the cache. Unfortunately the log book was too wet to sign. Nice multi cache.

I was over this way yesterday evening and as I was a little bit early for a meeting thought I'd give this one a crack. Such a beautiful Wellington evening. After a fairly brisk run down some tracks with the gps not going down very quickly I realised this was going to be more than a 20 min jolly. Returned this evening although weather was back to what is the Wgtn norm.
This is a lovely area and I certainly felt I was experiencing the hills with little glimpses of harbour, the first waypoint is a great spot and wish I'd been able to enjoy it last night. Headed off to the final and located the GZ fairly easily. Sadly cache was sodden so will need some drying out. I emptied the cache but feel the container may have lost it's waterproof abilities. TFTC recommend the walk to other caches and a very dog friendly area.

Loved the walk, started from the given entrance point and made our way to WP1. Spent a few minutes searching around, looking in the wrong places thinking that part of the hint was meant for this WP. Eventually found the coordinates in the most suitable place. Got to WP2 and instantly spotted the cache from the path. I don't think I've ever seen such a waterlogged cache, the container was half full of water and so were the snaplock bags, even the double bagged one was full of water. Couldn't sign either of the books.. tipped out all the water but couldn't do much else. Put back where I found it which apart from the water trickling down, is a great little nook for a cache. TFTC
A Nice little multi, with a quick easy find of a, not surprisingly, rather wet cache, on a pleasant walk with lots of fantails to keep us company. TFTC
I've had my eye on this one for a while as it fills in the most recent gap in my hidden months calendar.
I took the shortest (and steepest) path from Fernhaven Grove and quickly made my way to where WP1 was. A pleasant view and it took me a while to locate the required information. There's only so many places it could be hiding. A short stroll to the final and after a bit of a hunt the cache was soon located. I signed the inner log book. A very different hiding place (for me) so worth a favourite point. TFTC

Another bush reserve previously unknown to me, I really enjoyed the stroll this afternoon. WP1 hide was cunning and took a while to locate. No probs at the final (I won't bother to talk about the water issues). Certainly a unique hiding spot. TFTC - Day 9/10 of my multi streak.
Well I was in the area today with a bit of spare time so decided to have a look at this cache.
I had a very enjoyable stroll through the forest to WP1 which was a great place to have a sit down and soak up the views. The required information was quickly gathered here so it was off to the final for a straightforward find. The container had a bit of water in it but the logbook was bone dry.
A terrific cache and well worthy of a favourite point.

#1168 Out on a Newlands caching raid today, both Ska and Aga. Took awhile to find WP1 as we were looking for something different initially. Well done on the hide there. Off to the final and it was soon in hand. Quite a bit of water in the cache and the contents were really manky. Signed both logbooks (just in case) and drained the water. This one could do with being in an otterbox or at least something more watertight. Great walk and enjoyed the cache regardless. TFTC!
Another night time find for me. Took me a bit longer than I expected to find the first coordinate but quickly got to the cache.
Yes. Just completed the 31 days of geocaching in August . Only a year late but wasn't geocaching a year ago. No rewards but personal triumph. Onwards to 100 days of caching. Anyway back to this cache. This was a track I had never been on before. Nice little views over harbour. First waypoint nicely hidden. Final found easily enough. Just a trickle from waterfall at present. Cache itself had water inside which I tipped out. 2 logbooks in cache, both dry, so signed them both. TFTC.
After reading the logs, I was expecting things to be worse than they actually are. I have seen caches in a much worse state than this one is and the cache and its contents are remarkably dry given its location. First visit to this interesting little network of tracks. TFTC
Decided to attempt this one with kjwx after the nearby geo-event marking the winter solstice. I was expecting a totally different landscape, and the bush was a little disappointing to be honest. We found the coords at WP1 without too much trouble, and then on to the final straight away. Like others we were bemused by the final location, but were reluctant to relocate the cache so we returned it to its waterlogged hidey hole... TFTC
This has been on my To-Do list for three years now but it wasn't till JardisLikeTardis suggested we detour here after the Winter Solstice Event that I was brave enough to attempt. Having twisted my ankle earlier in the day, the downhill trip was slow going but we quickly located WP1 and then the final. The valley did not match the scenery I'd been imagining for years but GZ was pretty, despite the musty smell of decay in the air (normally a favourite for me). Pity the cache is so unloved nowadays.
Just about trumped by a muggle who arrived at WP1 from a different direction to me, but at the same time. Just wanted to chat and seemed to have no intention of leaving. Eventually got left to my own devices and quickly found the required information. Like others have said the final is inundated with water, but the recent log-book additions are (currently) in good condition. As it appears the CO has not logged on to GC.com for three years I would think it's highly unlikely the cache will ever be maintained or moved to an alternative position ... so it's probably up to the caching community to either keep it going, or get it archived. Personally I'd like to see it continue.

Found this on on my walk here today. Nice little reserve with good views. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
The cache needs a good drying out, and the old mouldy logbook needs to go. Might be worth looking for a more watertight container to take its place. It's a nice location, but cache needs some tender care from the owner.
Cache # 1,427 - and my penultimate dot day taken care of. Easy stroll to the first waypoint, quick discovery of final coordinates. Easy find at end, had to dump all the water out of the cache. Most recent logbook, fortunately, still dry, but most everything else soaked. The original logbook appears to still be in there, but is now just a moldy pile of paper. TNLNSL. TFTC!
We've been here before. This time we got it.
Like other cachers comment, a most unusual situation for a cache hide. Pleased to report that the log book has stayed dry and we were able to sign the log OK. Cache then safely re-hidden.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Find #1647. Spending some time in the Ngauranga / Newlands area, hiking the hills and catching up on caches. Decent Nor'Wester blowing this afternoon and getting colder as the cloud builds. A quick walk to the first spot - nice lookout - then quickly to the final. This is a first - a cache under a waterfall. Half full of water as expected but some nice folk have left dry logbooks - so there are two in there. Hope they stay dry! SL TFTC
Today was a dot day for me so I was really keen to find this one even though the weather was not geocacher friendly. I took a wee while to sort out what was going on at WP1 even though I have seen this sort of thing before; albeit not for quite some time.
Finding the cache was much easier. I had noticed comments in recent logs and, seeing the owner no longer seems to be actively caching, added a waterproof logbook to the sheet and bags supplied by SAROC.
This was an enjoyable after work walk.

Great little multi. Shame about the container. Or maybe the choice of final site.
Despite what it looks like these sistema containers, where the lid flows over the side a little, are NOT watertight. Simple test - hold the closed container to your ear and squeeze the lid and bottom together. You can hear the air escaping. Given that this cache is hidden in an envirnment of 100% humidity, I am not surprised the container is so waterlogged. By the way, the sistema containers where the lid sits flush with the seal and the base are water- and air-tight.

Great view at WP1. Friendly Tui was perched in a tree no more that 3 metres in front of me. Clever hint and the use of your ears are a must. Probably an easier find in winter. Cache full of water but log was dry as double bagged. Emptied water out of the cache and returned it to it's rightful place. TFTC
Had no joy at WP1. Not sure what we were looking for, but after a thorough search with no results we abandoned this one.
Note that the last log is October 2012.
Will watch this one, but it might be good if the owner could run a check on it too.

Found after a very pleasant walk - cache had a decent volume of water in it which we emptied out, but log was bone dry ! All signed and put back the same way. TFTC.
Beautiful framed view from wp1. Had a lightbulb moment for next coords. Relived to see they were not where my ears were telling me, after the recent rain there was almost a roar from a cascade nearby. Off to final and log is still dry in two bags, but everything else was submerged. Emptied water and returned cache to safe place. TFTM
Nice spot for WP1. As per previous logs, final cache was about as dry as the sea. While the container was filled with water, the log book was remarkably dry - double bagging it seems to be keeping it so far. TFTC and another lovely walk.
Second time for me as I'd run out of light the first time. The cache was a bit soggy again so made sure there was a flat(ish) rock under it. TFTM
Waterfall in full effect today. The new logs are dry but everything else is about to walk away. TFTC
As the weather had improved considerably I decided that this would make a pleasant venue for an evening walk. WP1 was soon found and I then stopped to take in the great view before moving off to the final. The container was nearly half full of water and the logs are a science experiment. I have added a new log but realize that this is probably futile unless the water can be kept out. To this end I have pushed the cache as far up into the hidey hole as it would go and with a rock under it to keep it above the water level. Thanks for bringing me to this nice little walkway and TFTC
Found the cache easily but like others have been mentioning, the cache is full of water and the log book is falling to pieces. In fact I had difficulty actually signing the logbook.
Anyway, TFTC
Anyway, TFTC
Headed over here to pick up a few quick caches before dinner this evening. WP1 was an awsome spot and founf the final pretty quickly.
The cache had water in it, this seems to be a common occurance for this one, maybe a more ater proof container is needed.

Container wet, one log book is covered in mold, the other is going in the same direction.
Found this one today as I finished up some Newlands caches. I now live in Montana, USA and just finishing up my trip home to see friends and relatives. Didn't even know this reserve existed but when we were kids the road ended at Baylands Drive and we used to go over the gate and collect mushrooms in the paddocks that are now Woodbridge. Loved the first stage, had me looking for a bit but obvious when found. Final cache easily found, nice little feature here which was flowing today. Signed temp log as other quite wet and moulded. Left behind a US quarter......it's waterproof! SL Thanks for the adventure, some beautiful ferns in this reserve.
Somehow missed the location of the GC coordinates at the first way point and spent quite a bit of time rummaging around in the bush! Once I finally found it, was quick to get GC. Log is still wet/unusable but the temp log is good and dry TFTC
Enjoyed the walk through the bush on this sunny day. Walking track is easy and comfortable. Like others before me, I found the cache fill of water and 'all logs' completely soaked. Spent sometime cleaning and drying the items in the cache, but am not sure how long the cache will stay dry in its hidy hole. Have added a new 'temp' log (double bagged). The official log really does need drying out gently. TFTC
It was a reasonable walk from above, may be easier to approach from Bayswater Place - that's where we exited.
The cache placement is not the best as it was sitting in water when we found it, and we had to empty water out of it. As others have noted, the log book is saturated, and unsignable. We wrote our names on a scrap of papaer and added it, but it will soon be soggy as well.

The cache has water all through it, including inside the bag containing the log.
Have transferred the log to a new bag, but I suggest this cache has a little holiday somewhere to dry out.

Took the boys out for an evening walk.
Mrs 1G quickly spotted the first WP, and also spotted the final, however she was beaten to the punch by a gumboot wearing geo-kid, who obviously wasn't so worried about his footwear.
Cache contents very wet, could hardly sign log.

A very nice walk in but the cache is sodden and very damp and could use some TLC. Quite chilly here in the late afternoon and dark, brooding clouds so off to keep dry myself. TFTC
5159 Spectacular views of the harbour and hills, we had an enjoyable bush walk, unfortunately the cache is a bit damp but we managed to sign the logbook. TFTC.
Found on a very muddy Saturday out with Tash12 and the geo-hound, nice walk and a reserve I've never visited before, a bit of huffing and puffing on the way back up though. Cache was a bit exposed so hope I've hidden it better, was pretty damp and a bit muddy inside. - marbles + bouncey ball + nailpolish SL TFTC
Nice to discover this peaceful little place - the view at the first coordinates was quite perfect with its leafy frame. Took Jeep TB to move on. TFTC.

Lovely view from the first WP1. Found the final easily, but the entire cache was soking wet (at least 3/4 full of water),. Emptied it all out and signed the log book (the only reasonably dry thing in the cache). There was quite a lot of water running.. Thanks for the cache..
Nic views. Excellent WP1. Logbook only slightly damp. Cache was partly visible so we covered it up a bit as an anti-muggle precaution. TFTC.

Nice little multicache. WP1 nicely done, final was totally wet, as the lid was off. However logbook was ok thanks to its plastic bag. Dried out cache as much as possible - it is ok SL TFTC
Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 123. Nice spot for a cache. Thanks.

Great hide, well done. We've just had quite a bit of rain in the last few days - the cache area is awash but the cache is bone dry. Tucked it back snugly into place. TFTC, SL. -2x marbles, +soldier, +moonstone.
Wow what a nice little hidden spot, have being meaning to do this one for a while, was not quite sure why I hadn’t done it, was quite easy in the end, found WP1 really quickly, and the view was very picturesque, pain in the butt as I left my camera in the car, final GZ was really easy too, Cool multi, loved the exercise, and also the great bush walk, TFTN TNLNSL (732)
Stopped in today to do some maintenance in response to the last few logs. The cache was full of water again so have dried and cleaned everything properly and reset the cache. Suspect the reason it was filling with water was due to it not being returned correctly in its hid. So will monitor the situation.
Happy caching all.

The cache itself was half full of water. Emptied it out and tried to dry it as best we could. Needs a bit more work though.
The log however was dry!

I had no luck trying to find this one today. I spent time both at the look out and down in the gully and couldn't find it.
We found the knoll and the nice lookout but from here we were stumoped. After recent rains there were a bunch of waterfalls but we didn't feel like playing roulette so moved onto a cache whose instruction were a little more explicit and helpful. Is this meant to be a puzzle cache? Scoop81 was similarly mystified.
This is a baffling cache. Either we both missed something fairly important or the conditions today did not lend themselves to find stage II. Any help?
Were a little confused to start with - couldn't work out what to do once we got to the site but after a while we (dad, 2 kids and dog) worked it out and our youngest (5) found it. This was great for our "education" as we are beginning to understand more and more how geocaching works. The kids are also getting better with looking, persistence and even discretion!

Study and work commitments have ment no geocaching. Seeing as we have a geo-coin that needs to keep moving have dropped it off and checked the cache.
Number 3 of six on an afternoon's geocaching walk. Found the viewpoint easily enough but didn't look closely enough there and spent ages searching vainly at the bottom of a nearby gully for the cache site. Gave up and then as we were walking away, Mrs agcnz spotted a likely spot near the path and of course she was right on. I hope that cache box is really waterproof! TNLN, signed log. Thanks for the cache!
