Nice walk through a native forest, never knew the trails were here, impressive looking Kauris around with the sound of the flowing stream nearby
Decided to have a crack at these ones after the couple at Fernglen. Wow! Amazing spot, the band aid peaked the interest in the next so on we go.....
TFTC!!
TFTC!!
I was passing by this place several times to find my way back to the car. The good thing was someone left little marks on the trees where to go. Nice hide. And very impressive Kauri tree near it. TFTC
We were in the area to visit the Fernglen Gardens and headed down the hill to look for this cache first.
Nice hiding spot and good sized container.
We had no idea this walk was here and were pleased to find a new bush area to explore, we will be back to look around further soon.
Thanks for bringing us somewhere new.

Once again teamed up with McCuthen Cache Clan for an excursion into the "Land of the Northern Jafa" to see what we could drum up in the way of cache finds. Our more recent attempts to locate caches have been excellent but usually before the first hour was out we were wet to the skin (and remained that way for the remainder of the day. Today we were hoping for better weather, and apart from one heavy shower managed to acheive our goal.
Setting off from Mr McC's at 4am we were working to be home at a reasonable hour (according to our respective wives), and we even managed this, along with locating 62 caches for the day, so all in a success for two southerners. Signed as "MCD" or variation there of.
I will apologise now for the "copy and paste" logs but yes we did have a great day out and enjoyed ourselves and a big thank you to all the cache owners that put in the effort to keep the game (obsession) going for the rest of us.
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

After wandering through the gardens, I carried on down Kauri Rd. There was only one place this could be once I stood up high and applied the hint. Nice large container, all good here, cheers
With Pazzabella (& Merlot58 - who'd already done it, so just came along for the walk...and our fabulous company
Haven't done the other one yet , so don't understand the cache title, but we found it quickly thanks to the helpful hint. tftc.

Merlot informed us there's a shorter way, but isn't there always? We all chose to take the beautiful stroll through the forrest without any bush bashing or getting back in a hot car again approach. I'm glad we did have Merlot because we may have ended up with a bush-bash if we hadn't. tftc
Went out with Onawe and Benconaze today to collect a few caches on the north shore. We signed the logs BRO to save room.
HAving found the caches in Kauri point we made the trip up the very step road and then diverted into this bush area to pick up the cache.
Onawe was in the lead to GZ, when I said out loud "how bout we search there" (I was still standing on the path), and Mr Beconaze following the suggestion quickly had the cache in hand.
Man hills on this very hot day are tiring!

Well starting to get rather hot tramping around these hills but under the trees it is not to bad. We arrived at GZ and deciphered the clues so knew where to look. We had the cache pretty quick. TFTC
Found with darkangel10151. Quick and easy and realized I've actually found this on a previous encounter without realising! Found the spot pretty quickly. Tftc
We probably chose the wrong entrance to get this cache, but decided to continue the rather circuitous route to the cache where after reading the good instructions in the hint we soon made the find. I rather enjoyed the lovely bush walk
We ended up choosing the longer route to GZ, with many steps up and down, but the walk was enjoyable nonetheless. We found the GZ and I soon spotted the likely hiding location and had the cache in hand.
Decided that we still had a few unsolved caches in the area to be got. So teamed up today with Merlot58 and Aiden29 to find caches in the area. We took a rather longer rout to GZ than would otherwise be recommended but we enjoyed the walk through this section of bush. Signed in as team JAM
Good instructions had on track in no time at all. Actually, it was a little off track but never mind. Tftc
First ever cache found! came from Mind Your Head which wasn't as successful for me pen wasn't working, might pop by sometime to add a working one
Lovely area here down by the creek .......Beautiful . Was getting a bit sidetracked , wanting to take photos , then I saw something unexpected ,,,,and found the cache ! Thanks for bringing me here G-2 !
Found this cache after jak got to the steps

Having picked up the caches on the side of the road recently it was time to hunt these two down. Careful not to tread on the somewhat possessive land owners property adjacent to the entrance pathway ( signposts frequently placed regards prosecuting trespassers ) we had a lovely walk to GZ and cache quickly located. TFTC.
Used this awesome sunny Auckland day to clean up the north shore a little bit. Quick walk to the geocache. TFTC
Well I was here already so I how could I say no to grabbing another cache. I continued on from Mind your head, enjoying the view and the sunshine pouring through the trees and was finally around GZ. The hint helped me get in the right area, as the GPS was all over the place, and then I just looked for the guardian. TFTC #256
Great camo, looked like an old garbage container so did not think it could be the treasure at first, first treasure we found:)
My head hurt from the cryptic clue, thankfully there were 4 pairs of eyes looking for this one, with the occasional muggle and dog probably wondering what in the world we were up to hanging out on a narrow path!! So glad to find, nice hide, more than a smear of camo I would say. Left a TB and collected King geocoin.
Thank you for bringing us to this beautiful park, TFTC glyn(the only one)

Found this one and some other on our way along the Soldiers Bay and through the Kauri Park and the Ferglen Gardens. We did almost every walking track we could found TFTC!
was starting to doubt our ability to find anything! But yes we got it. Was a bit damp so we put the log book into a seperate sealed plastic bag, took a doggie sticker and left a little yellow taxi.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We were in the area picking up a few caches this morning and took a walk to this cache after visiting Fernglen. As we were interpreting the hint, an interesting object was spotted, which then revealed the cache! A lovely spot here, TFTC!
Picked up 2 geocoins and dropped off 2 others.

Thanks to Glenn for dropping off our two Geocoins at the start of their adventures!
Found while on a bush trail walk with our friend Glenn who lives locally.

Out and about with evilno9 - managed to not get muddy and stay cool while I supervised the find. A good warm up, took us a while! TFTC
Managed to get out for a little bit today with Teotocchi and headed out here to try our luck with the caches here. First one of the day for us and after a bit of searching without getting anywhere followed the instructions in the hint and soon spotted the cache. Nicely hidden - TFTC
Looked about and saw a couple of probable places...carefully not standing on the roots we quickly found, tftcf
Tough tracks in a lovely park. Good thing we have dry conditions at the moment other wise it could have been very tricky getting here. After reading the notice at Kauri Rd track entrance about Kauri Dieback disease, [having cleaned and sprayed my shoes of course] I was careful at gz to avoid any roots. T4TC and the exercise!!
Little harder to find as only our second one but lovely environs to be standing around looking like we're not looking for anything!!
The exercise continues with this hide. Made my way down the steps and over the bridge and lovely rock pools and was quickly near GZ. Soon spotted the obvious GZ, but decided it was too obvious and looked else where first. Ultimately the hint meant it really had to be there, and it was once I actually endevoured to check!
Was reasonably dry, although it must have seen a little moisture recently. Walked past it a couple of times thinking it would be too obvious hehehe.
The GPSr counted down as we strolled through this wonderful piece of bush (though noticeably quiet to us, who had spent last weekend on Tiritiri Matangi), so we at least knew we were at the right hint object. Beyond that it was useless, though - dithering about all over the place due to the tree cover. Mr RW couldn't resist getting the camera out to get some shots of this lovely area, while the Mrs double-checked the compass, lined up the hint object from the upper path, and went to the most promising-looking spot - which held the cache. TFTC!
After visiting the fernglen place, we decided to collect this one too. It was nice wee walk to this cache, and liked all the steps down! (Not so much on the way back up though! )
The hint proved about the most useful thing here! GPS was way out, and pointing in different places, changing its mind... it was a bit hectic. So we tried to identify all the hint places, and then found a super likely spot. With a cache there too!!
Well... and then came the steps back up... which were still fun, just not as much!

It took a while establishing the directions from the hint, but once that was worked out, the only thing that kind of stood out was the hiding place. tftc.
Having followed the advise out of fernglen park we continued across the road to this nice piece of bush. The clues took us right by the cache and we found it quickly. we scrambled back up to the track with the cache in hand not to look suspicious but unfortunately the recent rain fall made it harder than anticipated and we both fell off. We signed the logbook covered with mud. I really enjoy these pieces of bush in the middle of the city, that's why North Shore is so great. TFTC Dropped TB.
This was a long detour on the way home from the gym (which is just an excuse to go geocaching rather than actually working). Searched the general area and spotted what I thought could be a point of interest and, hey presto - found. A nice hide. TFTC.
Definitely our lucky find of the day. Armed with all the clues reached about 5 x GZs, all of which were making us go in circles looking for the real GZ. By pure chance and after much frustration it was a case of, I wonder if it is here? And yes it was there. Phew. We were almost out of options on this one otherwise. TFTC.
GPS took me pretty close and the hint did the rest. Cool hiding spot. GZ was pretty wet and slippery after all the rain but managed to get in and out without any drama. TFTC
The Mrs found it during a family trip. Lovely place but couldn't find the other one in this park. Recommend this as a walk for anyone in the area.
Didn't find this on our first attempt but when walking back managed to go straight to it. Think the clue put us off the scent first time around.
2nd of three objectives found on toadys mission.
4th or 5th time trying this one but today was the day. Not that hartd now I am sure we looked at the same place a few times back.
TFTC g8 hide sl left Cachekinz TB out nil

Ok call me stupid...I decided to pick up a couple more caches that I didn't have...again I took the direct route which followed a path for a bit then off the path down a steep hill across a stream and up another hill...all in the rain and in dense bush. My aim was to get a couple of caches in the local area. It always looks a lot easier on a GPS. After checking out a likely spot I widened my search and became wetter and muddier..ended up back original area and found the cache...yay. One down now on to the next....Thanks for this one
Found after a brief search. I got to GZ and realised I'd left my pen in the car but happily found another in the cache.

#541: Found quickly as something stood out which warranted further investigation. The trip back up the stairs was an absolute workout! The meaning of the name of the cache eludes us though--didn't quite make sense to us.

Had an errand just up the road and was amazed by the bush surrounds & Had to go for a walk; this was the closest cache; such a nice track and impressive park;
I followed my GPS and found a likely spot, and after a bit of confusion, sorted the hint and it found it easily. Never think of it when coming to town, but must remember mosquito repellent!!

Have always liked the tranquility of this particular area... was almost muggled by a dog walker... TNLNSL TFTC
Walked from " Mind your Head" to the GZ - it is like a jungle in here, the GPS was jumping all over the place, after reading the hint and searching for a few minutes I found the cache.
The way back to the cache mobile was a quite tough one
TNLNSL cheers

The bush was alive w the sound of muggles. Hardest part was not looking like perverts whilst lurking for a free space to search - only so many photos you can take. Nice hide. NINO TFTC
Needed somewhere to take the family and dog, were looking after for a walk, so we came to Kauri park (I needed to find this cache as had done the other one before this cache was published). Have always entered from the top entry before and just done the top loop, so was good to wonder around the lower end as well this time. TNLNSL TFTC.
Neat place for a cache. I live in pt chev and have often looked across the harbour at this lump of bush. This is a beautiful area and well preserved. TFTC
I was using GPSr to find my way to a job in the Hebe Pl , i noticed some caches in area . I picked this one out and found while having lunch nice bush quick find
Quick easy find after working through the clue. It is a nice piece of bush.....TFTC...Hope to do the other cache soon.
Very humid and hot in this park today. Not looking forward to the the long ascent required to get me back to the cachemobile. Still, I can take my time as there is a Fern Glen multi that I can do as I make my way back up to Waipa Rd.
A lovely peaceful bush walk. Good instructions, and we soon located the cache. Thanks.

We were so impressed with this bush we decided that this is the place to bring future overseas visitors. Instructions were spot on thanks. t4tc
getting a good gps reading was tough under all the beautiful big trees but the clue helped in the end. TFTC
The last cache for the day. An easy one, which was good, as it grew darker and we did not know where the exit was. But we found it. Four caches in two hours! Good quota.

Misread the clue in so many ways that we wandered up and down that bank for what seemed like an eternity. Eventualy read it properly and had the cache in no time

Found the other cache in the park so decided to keep walking and pick up this one too. The hint really helped on this one and the cache was soon retrieved and log signed. TFTC
