Logs
Looking through some of the wife's logs (Searchwisely), found another I failed to log.
Bit of a miserable day so went for a drive from the campground in Hampden thru to oamaru for lunch. Took the scenic route there and back along the coast - and in between wind gusts I managed 5 easy park n grabs near or on the main road.

Grabbing a few more caches before I head north after Geofest. Nice easy find. Thanks waitaki99

The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size. What a day this was going to be and a chance to have a good look around the area. It was amazing to wake up after having afull nights sleep and not have that sand in the eyes feeling and sore back from sleeping in the back of a car. Starting the day off working our way along the coast, followed by a spot of inland caching before making it back to Oamaru for a bite to eat followed by a bit more caching.

Found on the way home from the geofest in omarau. Weather rather wet today but it doesn't deter us. Nice hide.
On the way home from Geofest on a wet day. Not a great day for geocaching but can't resist finding a few on the way.
The 4th of our 6 Day Adventure to and around Oamaru for [Oamaru Geofest 2017](https://coord.info/GC6M2V0).
Today included an early morning CITO, observing the Steampunk competition, a lunchtime Event and of course fitting in some geocaching between the wind and the spit which then later turned to rain.
A nice quick find as the 'shelf lid' hadnt been put back properly. This type of container isnt exactly waterproof so the log was quite damp and we more like etched our name in the book. We replaced the 'lid' back as intended. Thanks for placing the cache and adding to our smilies

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 5: With a good nights sleep for the first time this trip, we were up early and out the door for another full days caching. The goal for today was to cache our way down to the Moeraki Boulders and then see where the next cache lead us. One thing we were looking out for today was caches which hadn't been found in a long time.
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.

I thought I had logged all our Omaru caches but no Mr watcache found 2 pages I had missed. We left Fielding Thursday night 19th October and flew to Christchurch got a few caches in the area then headed towards Omaru for the first event for the weekend so nice catching up with geocachers we knew and geocachers we didn't. next day another event the geofest another great turnout then it was time to cache, the next day another event but a CITO by the beach lovely spot so glad to see that area great art work all around and a nice clean area and many more caches to find while there then it was off to get some more caches along the roads off the roads around didn't areas, it was very quiet in this area made it a lovely day to cache weather has been kind. a nice find signed the log and placed it back exactly where we found it. Thank you for placing a cache here, its a lovely area, then we headed off to the meet and greet Wellington event and had a great gathering of geocaches and a lovely meal then quickly headed off to another CITO event planting plants the views were amazing so glad we attended this event even though we were very tired after it. We headed back to our accommodation for a rest and a drink. TFTC a great day we had.
I remember being able to drive all the way along here when I was young. Some wicked storms certainly ruined this scenic route. Thanks for placing a cache here.
Found on Day 5 of our geocaching trip down from Tauranga to attend Oamaru's Geofest 2017; many thanks for the cache.
Day-10 Palmerston - Oamaru

Walksabit and I were headed south and he stopped here for photo op so I checked for caches. I identified where the cache was but needed Walksabit's help in retrieving it. It was very windy and the water was very choppy today. TFTC

Having a few days at the wonderful kakanui camp ground. Collecting a few caches around the area
Spotted this one quickly this morning. There certainly has been a lot of work done to slow up the erosion along here. Signed log, TFTC
A nice quick find with Keewee. The coordinates were off but the caching brain won through.

The second weekend of planned caching trips for Chelzea and I. This one started caching near Temuka and then on down to Timaru, Oamaru over Danseys Pass and then back to ChCh from Palmerston the next day. Long and winding trip in places but managed a good number of caches with only a few DNF's. Too many to remember in detail so sorry for the cut and paste logs but thanks to all the owners it was a great two days of searching new places for a good variety of caches.
Tipped a lot of water out of the cache before signing the log. Saw a lot of evidence of the erosion a bit further along the road. TFTC #7948
Home (Still call Oamaru Home) for Christmas with Family and had some spare time, so a Caching I went. Found easily, log a little damp but still useable

We found this cache during our wonderful journey through New Zealand. Thank you for the cache and the great time in your country! Greetings from Germany.

Found during a nice walk along the beach.
The ocean is slowly destroing the road. After another 5 - 10 years, they will need again to move the road even further.
TFTC
The rain started here, from that time I have been using an umbrella.

Headed out with Sharkiefan for an epic 2 days of super crazy caching in Oamaru! Needed to get a caching fix since within Chch I'm only going for one a day to be able to continue my streak as long as possible! We found a total of 78 caches! Hehe
WOOOOOOOWWWWW!!!!!
That erosion is awesome!! Well, not too awesome, especially if you own a coastal property, but isn't the forces of nature amazing?? Was awesome seeing up the coast a bit, and seeing all the very very worn out and eroded and half gone road!! EPIC!!!!!
Log was completely slimed and gross ad soaked though. Tried to etch our names in, but in major as need of maintenance.
TFTC!!

Needs new log. Log is wet and slimey, unable to write on it. Found with debsnz
There is a lot of traffic on this road, as we discovered by parking on the wrong side of the road and having to wait for a lull in the traffic to make the dash across. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
A quick and easy find for this one despite the growing gloom of early evening.

I cautiously crossed the road from the car park conscious of the extensive skid marks at this intersection. A bit of fossicking and out poped the cache.
