Definitely need to give this one a go at night as there is a heap of cars around
Wasnt so sure about looking for this one as its not a ground zero where you can afford to drop anything. Eventually found it, phew. [TFTC]
Despite being early in the day there was a lot of traffic around GZ so stealth was required.Fortunately a previous log gave us a hint which helped to narrow down the search and we were pleased to locate the cache quite quickly.Unfortunately the container is missing its lid and the log paper is rusted inside so couldn't be removed but we had some spare paper on us so have signed that and put it in the container which will be okay for now, but the cache needs a bit of TLC.Great view down to the motorway from here.TFTC.
Hard to believe I logged a DNF here almost 6 years ago. I know one thing for sure, I never looked 'up there' but Rebel (or was it rusty) did. So glad to knock this one off, been irking me ever since! Now back on our e-bikes and gently head back, my battery is getting quite flat and I don't want to be pushing the bike any time soon!
Stopped to find on our way back to the west. With rustynz and gorby, happy to find, thanks
Fun find with rebel98 and gorby
Left some paper for the next finder.
Riding back to pur vehicles, will be 23.7km by the time we finish today's adventure.
Thanks for the hide

M24: whoo! Muggles everywhere and it wasn't easy to retrieve it from such a spot.
But it's been found, log is signed, all is good. TFTC.

I've rode past this cache many times on my bike before but never had much of an interest in stopping as the shear number of cars sitting at the many traffic lights in the area, made me really nervous. This morning was a different story though as I needed to get a daily cache, and this one happened to be one of the more closer cache's to home
Had a really nice early morning ride up here to the Schnapper rock area before hopping off my bike on the over bridge and taking a closer look as to where this cache was. Right, 26m away according to my phone's gps, so I relocated and I instinctively knew where the cache would be based on reading between the lines of the title Surprisingly I found the cache in the first place I checked which was a big relief as the lights were red, which meant few cars were watching.
Unfortunately this cache is now lidless and is probably the reason why there was no log paper inside :/ I signed myself in on the "Official Geocaching" sticker that's still inside before replacing exactly as found, tightly tucked away. Morning traffic was pretty light both coming back and going out west. TFTC Zork V

Started a new job recently so the first thing I did was check for local caches.
Was bending over looking for this one when some d*ckhead shouted ‘nice *rse’ so I continued my hunt in a standing position and voila!
Container held together by rust and tape but still just serviceable.

Have been to this one a few times and muggles and not finding have been the biggest issues. Parked down near the parade of shops and headed back. A thorough search of lower levels occurred first before raising my sights for a tactile find and extract. No lid, but no problem. Cheers Zork V.
A change of plan for today as what was intended to be a East Coast raid up around Puhoi and above was changed when mrs c's plan to spend a week in Taihape was suddenly our daughter and granddaughter coming to spend a week with us and rocking up at the door at 0900!
So, a gentle morning of not much before a drive out Orewa way for a walk along the front and lunch at a nice eatery. On the way back we came off the Northern at Oteha Valley and came back a different way.

In the area today, we were rewarded with a quick find. Cache is very rusty and needs replacing as just about disintegrated.
Today was a lovely winters day, so after a hearty cooked breakfast we decided to head out for some caching on the shore. Miss NZT joined us for part of the day for a rare full compliment of the NZTravellers team! Had an enjoyable day, accompanied by HelloBird1e. Many thanks to all the cache owners for their great hides!
The highway seemed pretty quiet for a sunday afternoon today. MrNZT did the job here and we were were on our way to grab a well earned treat from macca's! TFTC!

My fingers were doing the walking when my eyes spotted something that directed me to the cache. TFTC.
Came here this morning to grab this one to continue my daily streak but took longer than it should have. Got there tho. Very neat hide. TFTC
Had my eye on this one for a while, but (rightly) assumed it wasn't one to attempt with two little girls in tow.
Walking home from Albany this afternoon, so I made sure my route took me past for a quick find. Thanks!

I parked in the little side street and wandered along trying to look inconspicuous while looking. It's hard to be invisible on your own! A brief search did reveal the cache which has seen better days.
Parked nearby and wandered down to the GZ. Nice quick find at lunch time today. TFTC
Nicely tucked away here. Cache is decidedly second hand, but still serviceable and log still dry...cheers V.
I saw this yesterday but didn't grab it, however today I decided to very quickly and guess what? It was the cache! Nice easy find to get us off the bridge quicker
Heading to Greenhithe from Schnapper Rock, when NZWashers asked if I had found this one. I've looked at it before, but it's such a busy area and I didn't want to try this on my own. We managed to park nearby and we walked up to GZ. We couldn't find anything in the obvious places and was about to give up when NZWashers spotted something that happened to be the cache, neatly tucked away in it's hiding spot.
Last cache for today and still no luck, had pretty good conditions and didn't stop the search for all the cars cause I knew it would take too long, feel like I searched everywhere but guess I must have missed a spot?
When I parked up here not too far away,l my car was shaking with the wind against it. But when I got to GZ, I kid you not people, I was holding on to the barrier a few times for fear that I might be blown back behind me across the road!
So this wasn't the best scenario to be looking for a cache! I spent 10 mins here I suppose, I waited until the lights were green to do a search, then when the lights were red, I pretended I was interested in my cellphone. But I just could not find the cache! So I left it after that for more greener pastures.

Came back at night with torch and when traffic was lighter. Still no joy. Will keep an eye on logs to see if anyone posts a find and then will try again.
After our daily cache and leaving it a little late in the afternoon so will need to knock of a local one. Parked 200 hundred meters away and walked on down to the bridge. Glad I had the umbrella as it is raining hard. A couple of options here so took a few minutes as I chose the wrong option to start. Impossible to go unnoticed with all the traffic streaming by. TFTC
Watching the news this evening and coincidentally the Upper Harbour Highway was mentioned:
The New Zealand Transport Agency sent a tweet just after the pursuit saying the driver had driven the wrong way on Upper Harbour Highway causing traffic delays but congestion was easing.
Police have taken a 23-year-old man into custody and said no one was injured in the pursuit.
The man has been charged with reckless driving, failing to stop, breaching prison release conditions and driving while suspended.

Wow big motorway and surprisingly high up. Neat cache and first for today on our way to Greenhithe. Quick find and of course no one saw us. TFTC
Wow what a massive new Highway. Parked nearby and wandered over. Used the static maps to get a clearer picture of the gz and the cache was soon in hand. I was worried that if I'd dropped anything it would land on cars racing by below so I held onto my pen and tablet very tightly. An interesting new piece of road. Around Te Atatu the highways are developing fast too. TFTC
Parked in Ashby Place, and wandered over to GZ. Looked as best that I could with the huge amount of traffic roaring past, but no luck.
Great hide on our caching walk from Greenhithe to Albany Mall for the Boxing Day sales. Nice to get our numbers up before the end of the year. TFTC
Vistra and I decided to have a numbers day and look at finding what we could on the shore. Day filled with all sorts of weather from showers to high wind, still kept relatively dry and had a enjoyable day.
This was out first together and was one that had been bugging us both as we frequently drive past, quickly found this morning but well hidden. TFTC

I joined forces with yorkshirekiwi83 and spent the day caching over on the North Shore - trying to make a small dent on the caches over there! I drive under this cache nearly everyday, so it was nice to finally stop and find it! TFTC!
Excellent camo and good hidey hole ! Needed Ric's eagle eyes for this and luckily he was on to it !!!!!

I came up to Auckland for a week - to catch up with everyone, but also working at the Auckland office of work for the week. About time though too, as I had last been in Auckland November last year! Oh how time flies!
Arranged with slieschke to meet up after work and go do a bunch of caching while up here!
Grr about this one! We searched for ages. Searched practically every spot 10 times over. But nothing.
Ended up logging a DNF on the GPS, as we were about to go, when wait what?! And we had the cache!! Yay!
Consec caching day # 729

Found out for a "spot" of caching on the shore with sonia26642. Grabbed a surprising convenient park nearby and spent ages searching. We were about to give up when sonia26642 got her hands on the cache and made the find.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks to all this inventory and the Highway project as a whole, isnt it so much quicker to get to/from Waitakere and North Shore? Applied my stealth tactics best I could by pretending to rest during a walk. Traffic is [as usual] constant. Thx for the challenge and cache!
Nice quick find early in the morning. Reasonably muggle free at 7am on a Sunday. Tftc
This is one of those caches that taunts you every time you drive past--so close, yet so far. Decided to stop for the find this afternoon. I should have bought an adult because I nearly got myself killed with an ill advised crossing attempt--the motorist let me know what-for I can tell you! Found the cache on the second pass. Cheers for the cache placement!
I couldn't have chosen a worse time to try and hunt for this one, right on rush hr. I don't think though, that anyone was looking at what I was doing, they were too busy trying to get home. So after searching all the likely spots, I was soon rewarded with a find.
nice quick find while driving around at midnight. less traffic and good lighting for a smilie here thanks.
Stopped by with R6 and had a good look around, Good thing we had the mini R6 with us as he made the spy and then we made the grab.
Headed this way from the north for the 12-12-12 after party event in Auckland so did a small detour to get this one on the way down. Had riser5 with us as well, so we made a great team for this trip.
Wandered to gz after parking the car and red junior found the cache quickly even though we'd searched with our hands there. Just been shorter in this case was an advantage! Signed the log and returned to its spot! Got a toot and a wave from a white station wagon as it passed under us. maybe another cacher? TFTC!!!

I tackled this late at night but the road was still busy. I think this one could do with a check please as it looks like someone tried to take a shortcut with their car to get on the motorway below!! Impact was about 3 m from expected GC and the railing has been shunted off its bolts, with all the glass and debris still there so it must have been recent. I didn't find any cache but if it had super magnets it may still be there.
A muggle drove past and yelled "Don't Jump" Thanks for your concern but i wouldn't have been able to scale the fence and it wouldn't be jump it would be fall.
Wave to the passing cars buses and trucks. B it of a hunt but got there in the end.
In the end with my finds today I managed to go in all directions bar one TFTC #2388
{ At 14:45 NZST on a very busy Sunday afternoon with plenty of traffic. Was necessary to 'fake' cell-phone calls but never-the-less a nice easy find. We felt very exposed !! Thanks !! TFTC ]
On a mega cache mission. ooommooand narwhal out with the hunting hobbits. a whole lota fun.
This one has been on the to do list for a long time, as we drive past this one multiple times a day..... great view from GZ.

#475: Found, though we looked a bit out of place with all the traffic. We got a few strange stares but I am sure with sufficient counselling they will learn to forget what they saw.

#630 Love these longer nights, got a borrowed fancy GPS, so keen to get out there and log some finds, while we have it. This has been on our to do list since we started caching some 2 1/2 yrs ago, tonight was finally the night when all as quiet as you could get in this area. Nice to finally get out of the car and walk across this bridge. Quick find. SL. TFTC
Out with Cabhassett and Brook Vader this afternoon, this was our first find of the day. So much traffic coming and going! TFTC
Very busy road, our first find of the afternoon, while out with Hastingus in NZ and Brook Vader. TFTC.
Would never have walked on this bridge if there hadn't been a cache to find. Out with Cabhassett and Hastingus in NZ today. TFTC.
Number two of ten caches on the 10th of the 10th 2010
Thanks for the cache and the view.
