Stopped in here for a cuppa and to look at the granite sculpture and I wandered across the road to collect this cache.
Second bite of the cherry, so to speak, the first round went to the muggles, second attempt we were lucky and made quick find. Tftc
On a big adventure from Canberra to Esperance and back to celebrate a year of good things (Happy Birthday Krispystrips). Today was day 21 of our journey and we made our way from Ceduna to Port Augusta via Wudinna. Great to visit another giant Ant, a Big Galah a giant farmer and some cool silos on the way. There is always so much more to see on these drives than we ever have time to do, but we cram in as much as we can! Grabbed this cache as we travelled along with Krispystrips K8TYBEE and GLISS! Thanks for the cache.
A quick find with Nibletricecakes, KrispyStrips and k8tybee on our Road to Esperance trip. TFTC.
Find number 13644 at 12:00:13PM on Thursday the 22 August 2024We're on our way to WA Goes Big, travelling from Croydon (Melbourne, Victoria) with a caravan in tow and making a leasurely caching holiday across the Nullarbor and back.Today we're heading for Ceduna and looking to get at least one cache (and maybe a couple) in each LGA as we go. Oh, we're enjoying the trip and the views as well, especially as it's our first trip this way Wandered across the road from the monument for a quick find.**Thanks for placing this cache InTheNews**---*WOW, so much happening here in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
This is a pretty smooth representation of the Aussie farmer though they got the solid part right. A quick find where the view of the statue is impressive. The lid of the cache is cracked but all is okay for now. TFTC InTheNews.
We are travelling with Pprass and have now set up at the well appointed Wudinna Showgrounds for a couple of days. After setting up we headed out for a look around and to collect the local caches. We were glad it was a quiet Sunday so we could look around properly. Thanks for the tour around the area InTheNews
Found at 4:05 PM in the company of The Morris. This statue looks as though it was inspired by the movie - The Day the Earth Stood Still. A very scary movie at the time and what we could have happened to us - but it never eventuated. An absolutely massive and impressive structure that must have taken a few years to create. So much intricate work in the facia - just like the Egyptian workers in their monuments had done! Thanks to InTheNews
TFTC. Quick find while staying in Wudinna overnight. Enjoyed the walk collecting smilies
I. Our travels we found ourselves in Wudinna and took the opportunity to grab a few caches, this was a nice quick find thanks for placing it
Cool facts about the statue but I reckon make size smaller not quite big enough for a regular tftc
A lovely find as we arrived in town. We can see that when this listing was published, the statue was only under construction. It is quite magnificent and then it was time to find the cache. Thanks InTheNews Domsky
We stay this night on the showground and go to find some geogache and the Adventure Lab. Thanks for the caches und the LAB.
On our travels from SW of WA to the Leap Day Mega Event in Adelaide area. Stopping for a cache here and there as we go. Not sure where tonights destination will be but time is getting on.What a gorgeous monument across the road.TFTC
Was out around these parts for work and the boss kindly lent me the vehicle to find a few caches around Wudinna. This was the second of 4 for this nice little town. The cache was found really quickly as the cover was quite obvious. Nice statue here! Now to do the Earthcache at it... TNLN. Cheers.
Ocw the Bebes as we stay a few days in Wuddina exploring the area. Log was wet so placed a dry piece of paper in it. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa In Wuddina for a days, took a walk to explore the lovely little town. Log was wet on this one, we didnt have a spare book with us but did add a dry scrap of paper. Tftc
TFTC found but log is full of water and we are unable to sign. Needs maintenance.
After spending a few days in Gawler it was time for to drive my mums (well my car now) from Gawler back to Perth. This was day one travelling from Gawler to Streaky Bay on a 5 day 3,100km adventure. And there are hundreds of signs saying do not drive tired so geocaching helped with that.Found lots of caches on the trip. Thanks for the cache and making me get out and stretch inthenews.
#5362 Heading home to NE Vic from our month long SA adventure setting out from Streaky Bay. Not much time for caching as we aim to get as far as we can today. We did stop here for a quick break and to check out this very impressive monument. TFTC InTheNews.
What an insane weather day. Dust storms enfold us, rain, so windy. Argh. But we got the cache.
Quick find stopped and took a photo of statue thanks for bringing me here and the cache
A quick stop allowed me to make a find and check off another LGA after hitchhiking across the Nullarbor. TFTC
Gps sent me about 15 m away but a quick look around, and I saw a sign that something didn't belong and retrieved it. Thanks for the stop to look at the statue
Nice quick find with tassie expat while exploring this interesting area. We enjoyed this town, especially the statue and the Cornish pastie at the bakery. Thanks for putting a cache here.
A quick find with frmen1. Stopped to look at sculpture, then realised that there was a traditional cache nearby. Also good spot to get a pic but you do have to be quick between vehicles. TFTC
A nice quick find on our way out of town after the JLWE. Found with rumpuslabs, tftc
My 6th day of my trip heading to and around the Eyre Peninsular. Today I left Kyancutta and headed off towards the coast and stayed near Streaky Bay for the night. This cache would be find number 3 of 22 for the day and find Number 114 in total for this trip away.
I finally stopped off to see this monument today and well it looks amazing stands out a real great addition to the area.

So what are we doing this week...
(Go west) Life is peaceful there.
(Go west) Lots of open air.
(Go west) To find caches new.
(Go west) This is what we'll do.
(Go west) Sun in winter time.
(Go west) We will do just fine.
(Go west) Where the skies are blue.
(Go west) This and more we'll do.
(Go west) Life is peaceful there.
(Go west) Lots of open air.
(Go west) To find caches too.
(Go west) This is what we'll do.
(Go west) together together we'll cache on our way
(Go west) together together you map me the way
(Go west) you cache places new
(Go west) this is what we'll do
(Go west) life is smiley there
(with thanks and apologies to the Village People and Pet Shop Boys - who must have been cat lovers!)
And ending up soon at Kyancutta
---------------- ----------------------

Country, Coffee, Cats, Champagne, Chocolate, and Caching...
Careful caching as always with Jack helping, wherever we go.
It's a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and objects falling from trees
...... but a cache a day still keeps the boredom away
--------
Most of our caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp )
----------
Make sure that Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - clean and cache the countryside
It's awesome of all those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas,
in sensible safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!!
[:o)]
The end. For now...
... until next time!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GCA1DNA - Great Leap Forward ... be there or be backward!
29.2.24 It's gone MEGA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After travelling across the Nullarbor from Melbourne for a Family wedding in Perth and staying in Mandurah for a couple of weeks, we are now heading home. After camping at the Wudinna Showgrounds last night we stopped to find a couple of local caches before continuing our journey. We did stop in here on our way west but didn't have any luck finding the cache. Today, we returned for another look and Mrs Pooky made a quick easy find, we cannot understand why we missed it on our first visit. TF placing this cache for us to find on our travels and showing us more of this area. TNLN.
TFTC and a nice quick find on our way to Ceduna. I’m visiting from the Hunter Valley NSW

Just an overnight at the camp grounds at Wirulla. Great location opposite the impressive sculpture.

Over on the Eyre Peninsula doing recon for the awesome JLWE event. Of course we had to do some caching as well! A quick find here!TFTC
Would have taken me a bit but GH had this spotted quite quickly.
GreyHams and myself set out on a three day SA caching trip after a super early start to the first day. The best start really though as by 9am and two planes later we had landed in Port Lincoln and into our rental car ready to set off! Local Government areas were our primary target, although many others of interest made the list, oldies, types and DT... Each offered some unique and often spectacular location, if your cache made our list, thank you!
Day 1 saw us landing in Port Lincoln and caching our way up towards Ceduna, a long but productive day saw us driving into Port Augusta just on dark a solid 12 hours after we had set off on the road.
Day 2 and we made the drive north from Port Augusta where we were based for the trip. The scenery on the drive to Roxby Downs changed often from little salt bush plains, shrub, salt lakes and to the amazing vast flat and empty, I loved the vast flat views... always spotting something in the middle of all the nothingness. Emus featured in huge numbers often, red dirt appeared... something I have been seeking so it was great to see it and finally get my feet into it all! Back into Port Augusta we set off for a loop in the south of the Flinders towards Quorn and out to Orroroo before returning just as the sun set to collect the last pizzas just as the shop shut for the day.
Day 3 was our last but just as full, although we only needed to get to Port Lincoln for our plane home late in the day we had many caches of interest plus a few walks along the way so took most of the day to make the distance leaving the odd cache off as we watched the clock!
Each day was full of such varied scenery, all quite stunning in their own way and led to a very enjoyable and fun trip. Thank you for your cache that guided us through the area and helped to highlight some of the great locations we got to visit.

Interesting statue and then over here to make a quick find. Not so 'regular' anymore

Aquilus1 & myself on yet another caching mission into South Australia, this time it was to go out west to collect all the LGA's out there.
This area of South Australia is so interesting as you can drive and be in a completely different planet within an hour. Red gums, to mallee scrub, to saltbush, to nothingness and then back again!
STarting and finishing in Port Lincoln, but with Port Augusta as our main base we explored the Eyre Peninsula, east out to Ororroo and north to Roxby Downs. It was a short but fun little trip. Thanks to all the CO's for placing caches
