Went to find this one today while on a run through the area. Had done the planning at the beginning of the week so hadn't seen it was disabled until I arrived there and it was no longer appearing in the iphone app.
Had lunch at the beautiful house on the property and let the 3yo play in the playgound before heading off for more caches so it wasn't a total waste.

Help! We found GZ & as we started searching, we saw the cache lid facing down on the ground. Could not find the bottom or the items in it so looks line it's been muggled! Damn those muggles! So can you please do another one? Thank you.

Thanks for placing this cache here and giving me a reason to exercise on my bike from North Melbourne. The calculations are easy (using a phone ) but the cache takes a bit of poking around to find, probably for the best as you wouldn't want anyone to stumble upon it.
I chose this lovely Park to hold a cousin get-together & what a lovely place to hold it. The weather was perfect. I knew there was a cache in the park & was worried that it might have been very busy on a Saturday. There were a large group of picnicers nearby but they were too absorbed in their game of well organised bocce to worry about MrSnoop & OzzieBear lurking nearby. The cache was soon discovered & returned without any bother. TNLNSL. The cache was the icing on the cake after a wonderful of catching up with cousins that we hadn't seen for over 20 years.
Found this at 2.20pm in the company of OzzieBear while enjoying this beautiful Park - a great spot for a family gathering. The cache was soon discovered. TNLNSL. Thanks very much for this cache
It was middle of the week and middle of the day, but there was a large crowd of mothers and children playing nearby. Fortunately, they didn't cause a problem with my search. Found the cache quickly, logged it and returned quickly as well. Thanks for bringing me back to this park and showing me a little bit more of it, and for the cache.
PS One of the Sistema Clips is missing, but the lid still seems to stay on without a problem.

I got the co-ordinates for GZ a few weeks ago, but the park seemed a bit busy around there at the time so I gave it a miss.
A muggle seemed to be eyeing me tonight across the park while I tried to act all discreet. But as he left, stumbling and swigging at a wine bottle, I realised he probably wasn't paying me any attention at all.

A cache in the Park where my Grandfather used to take me to feed the ducks. The Cannons have always been a feature that you notice when you drive, take a tram or walk past here - they are a part of my childhood memories really. And from a vegetation point of view for the cache hide I could think of few nicer places on a hot afternoon to spend some time. Thanks for bringing me here again and giving me time to enjoy this lovely park. TNLNSL. TFTC
Our second cache! I had no idea what i was supposed to do when i got to the co-ordinates but Eltan started poking around with a stick in the spider webs and he finally found it. Great Fun. TFTC
We found ourselves in the neighbourhood, and cannon caches are something we always try to go for.
A quick bit of head maths and we headed for the likely GZ. A bit of poking around and dodging dog muggles, the cache was quickly found.
One of the clips had come off, but the container still seems to seal just fine.
Beware spider webs when poking around here! No spiders seen, but still...

Suscoe found this one at the start of a day out caching in Melbourne.
A lovely park and a quick find in delightful weather was just the best way to start the day.
Melbourne is lucky to have such a lovely park and we haven't seen a fountain working for such a long time.
Left Glowing monnkey, took clip.

I detoured here on my tredley on the way home from work on a lovely afternoon. This is a great park and I enjoyed gathering the clues in the sunshine and working out the GZ co-ordinates. A fairly quick search has the cache in hand at 17:20.

This was a must do on our list, atleast for 2 of our members. Having had our wedding here on the gazebo by the lake over 5 years ago it was a pleasure to come back. The day was lovely and warm and the cache an easy find. Great place to feed the ducks, go for a walk with the dogs and has a large playground for the kids. There's even a nice little cafe tucked amongts the flowers.
Thank you very much for the cache.

Found by Team Ladava around 3.30pm on a very cold, windy Grand Final weekend with squalls coming through every few minutes.
A very pleasant city park and they certainly are some historic military hardware.
I am trying to imagine the noise and damage when they fired those monsters.
A short walk to gz and we hoped that the two dogs provided sufficient excuse for us to loiter nearby, make the find, sign the log and replace the container.

~15:00 King Jnr - an easy find and only a short walk - I felt like climbing on the Cannons but I did not want them to go off. The cache is missing one clip but the contents are still nice and dry. Thanks Feathertop In: TB "My Photo Travel Bug #1"
Found it on my way back from an airport run. I like a short, simple multi that doesn't require printing (and therefore planning) beforehand. It was my first find using an application on my new phone, so I'm glad to see it all works. This is a beautiful park too, so I took the opportunity to have a walk around on this chilly morning. Thanks Feathertop.
We can learn a lot from the feathertop cacher..

A quick calculation, a brisk walk and a very uncovered and visable cache was in hand. We were surprised to find the cache container was actually inside the plastic seal bag. We are more familar in seeing the log book enclosed in the seal bag and that's the way we left the cache.

One of the first caches I found. I enjoyed exploring this park. Thank you for hiding this cache.
Did this one around 6.30am, an easy enough find, sat on a nearby seat to fill out log but when I went to rehide it the local 'boot camp' fitness group was setting up less than 50m away. waited about 10 mins without luck so 'dropped' my wallet and while picking it up, rehid the cache.

Impressive cannons guarding the park. Fortunately I wasn't fired at despite suspicious behaviour
Found this one on an overcast Dec evening, and seeing as the GPSr was sending us this way and that, GZ was found on clue alone! (Thankfully dad was a horticulturalist!)
Love this park too, and another one we drive past several times a week, but rarely get the time to stop in, although we've had some nice picnics there.
Am retro-logging this one, so can't remember what we swapped, but we did, and we signed the log.

Found by Mary & David at 1445. We've done a couple of other caches in this park before, so we were glad of an excuse to return. Glad to see the trees looking pretty healthy too. No trouble getting the cache unobserved. Our thanks again to feathertop.
Enjoyed the find. Luckily some clouds came over and cleared out the park of muggles. Left an egg, took a dino.
This was our last cache of the day before heading off for tea and here we some of the largest cannons we have seen. In our line of work we have fired projectiles of this diameter but we are sure that these would make a lot more noise and cause a lot more damage. Once the information was collected we headed off through the deserted park for a nice easy find.

We found it at 1:20pm 20/4/08. We took the opal and we left a glass star. We had fun finding it because it was in a great spot. Thanks for the cache.
Finally! This one has taken me more tries than I care to admit -- on previous occasions I had to retire un-smileyed because I kept feeling too conspicuous after not-very-long (which is also why I had to give up on nearby Sam Merrifield earlier tonight). Anyway, the caching radar was fully functioning this time, helped by the lateness, darkness and quietness of the hour, and so the cache was soon in hand. Yay! TNLN; thanks feathertop.
Some stealth required, but it's a nice place to sit once you have the cache in hand.

Left a new logbook as the other one was not usable. Future finders may wish to bring a pen as the pencil is beginning to rot too.
Well hidden in a densly visited area.
Congratulations to the cache owner.
We added 2 items
an "under-the -sun " geocoin (just fitted)
common red and amber opal from Kalgoorlie.
Removed 2 rubber dinosaurs and a baggae lock
*****NOTE TO CACHE OWNER******
Cache cavity was facing playground and seat in park at the location. Moved the cache to the west side of the location
into another cavity about 2 feet from the original in the same landmark feature.
Please get a slightly larger container and also include a geocaching note as water has destroyed the original.
Note pad and pencil in dry state so dryed off inside the container and replaced it. Just as easy to find but less exposure to muggles and at ground level to boot.

Found at 5:45pm on the way home from Essendon VW after picking up the new Golf TDI. Looking forward to some caching trips to try it out. Found the cache reasonably easily today, after getting the clues earlier when GZ was surrounded by muggles. Log book was soaking wet and difficult to write on. Coming back to this park has inspired me to find a new spot to reactivate my Dig Tree Knot! cache which was pruned and woodchipped some time ago.

Found at 3.50pm GAFF1. We had a huge overshoot and as we were passing the structure we thought - why not hide it there?
"There" turned out to be the right spot and after fishing out the container it felt quite heavy and p-pprass was starting to get excited about what the contents could be - turned out to be water! The container was completely saturated and even the log book - with a double lot of zip bags was completely wet. We think that part of the zip lock bag must have been protruding from the lid which let in water.

I had found the clues of this one earlier today while on a morning bike ride. I couldn't have a proper look then due to some nearby muggles but, on the way home, the area was muggle-free and I was able find the stash at 11:05 after a short search.

Had to do one cache today and this was it. The canons were worth seeing and the maths was easy. At gz though there were a pair of muggles sitting in full view! Fortunately they soon left and the cache was an easy find. As reported by previous finders the cache was very damp and the log in some trouble. I tried to dry it but it was too wet so I replaced it with a small one I happened to have. I also double-bagged it so hopefully that will work. These hiding places are a bit notorious for water. Thanks Feathertop for the cache and showimg me those cannons. I still have the old cache.
"Bang, bang" - a two-cannon salute for a successful find!
Found at 20:30 today, after failing to find it yesterday... lots of people around - a warm night for fish'n'chips in the beautiful Queen's Park!
Very happy to see that Alansee had replaced the previously waterlogged book (earlier today, apparently!) - nice and dry, and I made sure to reseal the double bags. The geocache instructions remain waterlogged, and should probably be replaced if any future searchers have a spare (laminated) copy.
Took nothing, left a Smiggle clip - mini container very full now!
Beware of those creepy crawlies!

We found our 10th Feathertop cache at 11:45am as the 2nd of 10 on our Twas the Day After Christmas Caching Tour with Cold Freeze. It took a little bit of searching in the few nooks and crannies available before we made the find. On our last caching visit to this park for the Dig Tree Knot cache, we had to report that the cache had been eaten by critters. Unfortunately, same again here although it is not a hungry critter but rather the recent rains that has drowned this one and the log book has taken a soaking too. Thanks for the cache from D B-A.

Cache # 4 of 8 cache finds for the day for the day in the company of dak's Emu Mob. We soon had the numbers crunched and were on our way to GZ where after we did a couple of circles the cache was in hand. #3 of 3 finds for the day, in company with acts2youthgroup. It was a hot day, and there were plenty of people enjoying the facilities of the park. We gathered the required information, did the maths, and headed to GZ. We made a couple of circuits before lighting upon the cache. I made no exchange. Thanks to feathertop for the cache. Cheers, dak.
Boy I made a mess of this one. I was out with my cousin and his girlfriend when he asked about caching. We happened to be driving past the cannons on the way to dinner at the time, and I pointed to them and noted that they looked familiar. On the way back we stopped in, did the math, then couldn't find the blasted thing. I enlisted the help of a previous finder who pointed out the obvious to me. How very humbling!
Lovely park though, while waiting for a return call we strolled around to look at the ducks.

This makes for a bit of an extreme pre-work diversion for me (coming from Mitcham to Hawthorn), but I wanted to complete the newly replaced "Legends" cache and this one's not all that far from it, so the lure of 2 caches was enough . I'd just arrived at GZ and done one quick circuit of the probable hiding spot, when BigglesBear cruised in for a 3-point landing and joined the search. A couple of minutes later and we were signing the log, after which I had to make a hasty exit and scuttle off to work (and I really wasn't all that late ).

Found 10:45, I had arrived much earlier and done a preliminary search of GZ, but had retreated to the car to wait out a large group congregated in the vicinity. We must spend more overnight stays there, as this was the third new cache we have been able to search for since we arrived!
This park has had a checkered history for us with one found previously, and another had been muggled just prior to our search, neither here any more, and now a third successful find. We were fortunate tonight to have the search area virtually to ourselves, which made for a quick find.
We signed the log and made no exchange.
Thank you feathertop, for placing this cache when you did.
