Puzzle was solved in preparing of our trip. Glad we could make it today to GZ and found the little one after short search. Cachtitel is a,perfekt Match for the location. Tftc

21-Aug-24
Out for a bike ride today, came back here after cycling up the valley this afternoon. Nice and quiet now all the muggles have gone and a quick find once I looked at the revised coords, TFTC

06-Mar-24
I was having a bit of a walk around town trying to complete a couple of AdLabs and I stumbles over this one so I just had ro sign it off seeing that I had solved it quite a few years ago. I couldn't find it then I read the cache page again. I theb added the adjustments to my final coords and there it was.Cheers for the cache, Kiwi_Explorer.

15-Mar-23
Puzzle was easier than expected, no need to overthink this one Smile
Found it quite quickly at gz, thanks! I wonder if the off-placement is actually still necessary. But oh well, this works fine too Smile

13-Feb-23
And there was even music playing while I looked - rehearsal next door I suspect.

01-Oct-22
I was coming to this area, so I solved the puzzle last night. At first the puzzle looked like a complex calculation, but it turned out to be quite simple.

At GZ, I saw one really big place that fit the hint, but I didn't want to cross the fence, so I looked around and found a smaller thing that also fit the hint. TFTC.

05-Sep-22
Found on an evening walk tftpc

21-Apr-22
Phew. We found one! In the pouring rain we'd already revisited another puzzle hide we just can't spot, and a field puzzle cache we couldn't crack with our soggy brains. So this was a welcome quick p&g dash in the wet to keep the streak going. I haven't read music since primary school so couldn't remember a thing for the puzzle, but thankfully there's a thing called Google. TFTC

09-Mar-22
Today was a day for a buzz over the hill on bumblebee to collect some of the 1/2 century of puzzles I solved over the 2021 lockdown. I had an ambitious list of 26 compiled but only got to 10 of them. This was the forth one up. Another subject that this time I knew something about. That didn’t help but something else did. Fortunately it was quiet at GZ and an easy find was had. The container was full of water and that made the paper unusable so I added a piece of waterproof stuff.

25-Dec-21
The subject matter is not one I am strong on but I was able to apply logic to get me across the line. The final location wasn't far from our accommodation so I incorporated it into a late afternoon walk. I was pleased to find it was all quiet at ground zero and I made a quick discovery of the treasure.

27-Apr-21
Solved prior to our trip to Nelson. Didn’t think I’d have time to grab this one but an evening stroll after dinner on our last night, the cache was soon in hand and log signed. Tftc

26-Dec-20
GPS was on a bit of a wander so used my geo-sense and found the cache! T4tc

12-Nov-20
I think I solved this one during lockdown, after two DNFs earlier I came over here and made an immediately find. Thanks!
Sitting, relaxing, signed and replaced. Good spot for the final and now it all makes sense.

13-Jul-20
Been in the South Island visiting the grown up kids who are on Uni holidays. Travelling home and staying in Nelson for a couple of days. Enjoyed walking round the centre of town collecting some caches. Solved this quite easily as had seen one similar, cache itself was a quick find. Fortunately no bum notes for us just bums on seat. TFTC

08-May-20
Not much caching action these past weeks so I thought I’d do some proxy caching by checking this one one whilst out with the dog.

A good look but only hit bum notes.

30-May-19
Solved this about a month ago. Saved until I needed some caches for finds of the day. Quiet here today on a rainy day. TFTC

09-May-19
#6881. I solved this puzzle last night. Recognised what I needed to do immediately as I solved a similar puzzle several years back. I was over in Nelson for a day trip to help out at a training course at the polytech. The course was a bit more intensive than I expected so didn't get much free time. However I nipped out at lunch time to grab this one. Nice quick find. Signed and replaced the cache as found. Unfortunately by the time the afternoon tea break had arrived it was raining steadily outside and so this was the only cache I could fit in this trip. Will be back another time to do the interesting multi caches near the polytech. Thanks Kiwi_Explorer for the cache.

19-Apr-19
Nice music. Lovely to dance (Waltz)

04-Feb-19
Coming back to here for the 2nd time after reassuring everything was right with the coords. Spent a bit of time looking in obvious spots but nothing... Then we tried some other spots and spotted the beauty. Very happy to tick this one off the list of mystery caches. Now for the next one...

24-Jan-19
In town on a wee family summers holiday visiting family. Grew up in Richmond - gosh the years have changed it! Heading back to Richmond after a wee family walk up to the Centre of NZ - a random detour to this GZ to make a quick find and sign - just because. Cheers!

06-Jan-19
Last of the day. We were heading for some refreshments when I noticed this spot was construction-free. So we popped in to grab this cache that I had solved maybe 2 years back. Good time too. There was little human activity, and after getting the updated coords from the cache page it was a simple find. TFTC Kiwi Explorer.

Another warm day so Jo and I planned a trip across the hill, just for a bit of therapy and a change of scene really. Jo hasn’t had a lot of time off over the holiday period.
So we set some goals.
Lunch at Devilles, a swim at Rabbit Island, and a pint at the free house before heading home. Some of those are usual haunts, others not, but the weather dictates these things. Those were all achieved and a few caches along the way. Cachewise the goals were walking to the centre of NZ; then Best, Rough and Rabbit Island. A few others in the vicinity. Anything park and grab or within short walking distance. Didn’t pack the bikes, they will be coming another day.
Thanks to the Nelson COs. We haven’t been here much in 2018. Will aim to get over more in 2019. Had fun and all caches in good shape.

23-Aug-18
I was passing today so I thoght I would grab it as there were hardly anyone around .Thanks for this cache Kiwi_Explorer

23-Jul-18
It's good to finally get this one ticked off. Solved over 2 years ago, we checked every time we passed by to see if access was available. When finally the drapes came down a couple of months ago, the cache had disappeared - no surprise really due to what had been happening on site. CO soon had another one in place and today we finally put a yellow face on the map. tftc

22-Jul-18
Solved this ages ago. Been waiting for the barrier to come down. Quick find

12-Jul-18
I have waited a long time for this,. I had solved the puzzle about 2 years ago. I was geocaching in the area 6 months ago in the area, so I couldn't find it there either. Today was a day in Nelson to try & find a few caches while I had a bit of time. Find #466

06-Jul-18
I solved this a long time ago but at that time I did not get into town to find it, then of course the GZ was fenced off for such a long time.
I went past the other day and noticed that it was time to come and have a look to see if it had survived the goings on of recent months.
A brand new sparkling log book was what we found, maybe the original did not survive the alterations or maybe the CO also wondered if it had survived and popped a new log into it. Either way we are happy to have turned this one into a smilie, thank you Kiwi_Explorer

28-Apr-18
Nine days to do some caching for the price of four leave days - who could complain about that! I found a quirky place to stay near Motueka, and decided to base myself there to cache in the wider area. I had a few on my hit list, and ended up finding a great variety of different caches on the trip.
Day eight. When we realised we were going to be nearby, we set a geocaching date with kutukuSI for the day to tackle some of the Nelson caches we both wanted to find. Thanks foe the permission to log this one, fun puzzle and most appropriate location! TFTC!!

28-Apr-18
Caching with Hinemoana and this was to be my last cache of the day.
As with the previous finder, we had solved the puzzle and could see the cache location but there was a protective screen and we couldn't access the actual cache.
Logged with permission for the C.O, many thanks.

15-Jan-18
Our last day in Nelson and we were keen to locate this one as we had come all of this way. Were surprised to see that it is still cordoned off after more than a year for construction. We were able to look through the protective barrier and identify where the cache was located. Have liaised with and am logging with the permission of the CO.

28-Feb-17
I am so sad! We solved this puzzle in November, back home in Winnipeg, in the hopes of logging some caches here in Nelson! We biked downtown today, then walked to the Cache location, only to find that it is cordoned off and we couldn't even look for it!!!

08-Jan-17
Damn, solved this in Auckland before a planned trip to Nelson but couldn't collect it because GZ is now cordoned off for construction

28-Aug-16
Very pleasant early morning walk and a very appropriate site for a cache. Thanks for the puzzle and thanks for the cache.

22-Aug-16
Away for a 3 days caching around Nelson with rebel98, supernanny and gorby.

After a late night looking for caches, after a quiet debrief, and a few drinks it was time for bed. So in the morning I was not suprised to hear, as I arrived for breakfast, that supernanny had stayed up late with gorby solving a few puzzles into the wee hours Big Grin

I have solved the puzzle, overthought it, made it more complicated than it needed to be, then it all fell into place, and I was very pleased with myself when the geochecker said I was successful! Thanks for the puzzle & hide, and to the others for suggesting we find it whilst in town.

22-Aug-16
Just about midnight *the brain kicks in*, I had been out all day, and I mean **ALL** day caching with rustynz and Rebel98 and supernanny. But at midnight, we're back at the YH in Nelson, I'm having a coffee, supernanny a cup of tea then I mention this puzzle to her, since I know she's musically inclined. I thought I was too, but my music scales are very rusty and when I suggested doing this cache solve it proved that supernanny was right! I wanted her to solve this one, she is mad on traditional caches and doesn't spend any time on mystery caches. So I have tried to put that right. She was **so** stoked to have solved this, geochecker confirmed her results and at 1am we decided we better get some sleep before out last day in Nelson. Thanks Kiwi Explorer for the nice little puzzle, it was fun!

22-Aug-16
Log later.

22-Aug-16
After a long day geocaching , and a long night at the YHA chatting , the talk turned to Mystery caches .
Gorby mentioned to me there was one in town here , that I should look at ; as it might be easyish , and I am into music !
After a few false starts , the light dawned ! And Geochecker congratulated me !!!!
So it was a real thrill for me ; and the next day we got the final !!!!! Not far from our hostel !!!
Favourite !!!!
Thanks Kiwi Explorer !

25 March 2016 14:09. A quick stop and grab, much appreciated! The lid to the container is loose, but hopefully the location will continue to keep the log dry. TFTC

20-Mar-16
This was my first official cache in this beautiful country! My wife and I came to New Zealand to celebrate our honeymoon; arriving just this morning, Nelson was our first of three stops. Suffering from the jet lag, we decided to do an early dinner and pack it in early tonight. After dinner at Ford's, we stopped to pick this cache up quickly before heading back to our bed and breakfast. The church bells rang in the distance as I signed - how thematically appropriate! Smile thanks for the fun puzzle.

18-Mar-16
Found my first mystery in Nelson! Tftc!

15-Nov-15
On our fourteenth day in New Zealand we drove from Greymouth to Nelson. Weather was again grey and wet, not our favourit for Geocaching Wink)
Mystery was solved back home and here we could FP straight to GZ. Found the box easily.
TFTC and greetings from Switzerland

November in Europe, the dark month, neighter autumn nor winter: short days, rain, fog. Everywhere unlucky people.
But now we are in NZ. Early sunrise, mighty green and flowers everywhere. Happy cows and sheeps also. We delight look forward to such lovely challenge. Thank you NZ. Greetings from Germany, from the mountains of Harz. TFTC

17-Sep-15
I never knew how to go about solving this one but recently bought a book that has become my puzzle solving bible. This gave the help I needed to make a start. Short walk in my lunch break today to complete the mission. Thanks Kiwi_Explorer for making me learn a little about reading music

[green] Suddenly I find this weekend is free, So capperz and I set off to the Pi Day event in Nelson. And to grab a few puzzles. Gotta get them souvenirs! And, since we are out there anyway, grab a few dozen caches along the way.
Spent the night in Grampions Reserve, and now sort-of heading over to the event. That is still over an hour away, so we are filling in time. A bit more walking than expected - a road was closed off for a trolley derby.
I had solved this, and wasn't too surprised at the final location- I always said this final deserved a cache, although I was thinking of one with a historical theme.

14-Mar-15
weekend trip to Nelson to attend the event then cache our way back to Blenheim via Brightwater, Wakefield and 88 Valley Road was hatched earlier in the week and with Pi Day kindly offering up not one, but two shiny souvenirs, it was agreed that we would head over the hill, again!
Saturday morning to the Event, sleep in the car Saturday night (for me, the Seagnoid would take his bivvy tent and sleeping bag) then a long and slow trip back to bag as many caches as possible. Somehow though, this was lost in communication and the Seagnoid kindly volunteered himself to be Joe le taxi on Saturday night so the whole thing was brought forward 24 hours. My G P S has packed a sad and won't work anymore so I was on borrowed equipment and hastily loaded a G S A K list of potential finds, and some solved puzzles, and off we set at about 5:30 from sunny Blenheim. Grabbed caches before it got too dark to keep going, and managed 6 by torch light which helps towards one of my missing M G S C attributes, yay, just the Events to go now to qualify. At last it's Pi day. Wake up after an uncomfortable and too warm, then warm enough, then too cold night.
Found some caches nearby and saw the solved final to this wasn't far away. There was a trolley derby going on down a closed off road so we walked the several hundred metres to/from G Z to make the find.
Nice hide and accurate coordinates

I don't often do puzzle caches so was pleased to work this one out then collect it on one of our evening walks. TFTC

23-Dec-14
very similar to a cache I did a few years ago. You made it a lot easier than I did! Thanks.

12-Dec-14
In Nelson for the weekend and decided to pick up some caches today that would help us towards our GIO Licence.

Had solved this puzzle a while ago and so was happy to pick up the cache quickly today.

Linea, being the most musically talented of our us, solved this over breakfast. After a stroll around town on some borrowed bikes, we drove by GZ and picked it up.
Mums (snack): Local craft beer.

Our first evening in Nelson we spent in a nearby restaurant eating the best pizza in New Zealand and solving a puzzle cache. Sucess! TFTC!

Ah. I see (with hindsight and GoogleMaps) why we DNF'd it...for some reason the corrected co-ords didn't load. We were searching the dummy co-ords area! doh.
(believe it or not this actually happened a couple times!)

24-Oct-14
The answer to this puzzle came very quickly to me that was fortunate as I could have been waltzing around the answer for ages!
Took a trip to GZ today and found the cache all in order (although we did struggle to get the log book out). Great puzzle and lovely spot to improve my waltz. TFTC Smile

28-Aug-14
Stopped by today to put in a new log and waterproof bag. The old pencil was broken and we did not have a spare, so future visitors, please ensure you have your own pen(cil).

16-Aug-14
Not having a musical bone in my body I was pleased to quickly note a pattern in the tune which pointed to a logical destination.

Not having a whole lot of activity at the moment, the GZ was nicely quiet. But the find was a lot more tricky. It seems the cache was not quite in the place it was meant to be - although close by.

Sadly the log was soaking wet and so unsignable, probable due to its hiding place. Miss N placed the container where the hints suggested it should be and we'll check on the cache in the week to give it some log-love and a nice new ziplock bag.

03-Aug-14
I worked out the puzzle fine, but couldn't find it anywhere.

06-Feb-14
tftc. great puzzle.

Very nice puzzle that was interesting and different but didn't take long to figure out. Quick find once at GZ.

01-Jan-13
Finally managed to solve this puzzle last night with the help of a friend, whilst counting down the minutes to New Year. Nice easy find and a pleasing first cache find for 2013!!! Happy New Year and happy caching!!!!

04-Nov-12
In Nelson, for Biggles Over the Rainbow, Series - ORANGE - event. So couldn't let the chance pass to 'knock off' a few puzzles already 'sorted', and a few multies that needed the time. And this was one of them - now all done and dusted. TNLN. TFTC.

24-Oct-12
Probably my first mystery cache. Thanks for the cache.
#140

13-May-12
Caching with Holymu for fun and to accumulate some challenge requirements. Were wondering where all the muggles had gone. Solved the puzzle some time ago and it popped up on the GPS when in the neighbourhood. TFTC

13-May-12
Had been to Founder's to do the whereigo with Hazedarus and decided it was time to deal with some of these solved puzzles on the way home. Spent a few minutes sitting and soaking up some of the meager sun before moving on to our next target. It was a muggle free area today which made it easier to retrieve and sign the log. TFTC.

16-Apr-12
Had been sitting on this one for a while just waiting for a muggle free time - what a busy little area this is. Enjoyed the puzzle and the cache.

11-Feb-12
Had fun with the puzzle. Melodious on the ears, or rather the stuff between them. Pleasant hide followed by a refreshing ice block from the nearby dairy. NINO. (Almost left a pathtag but feared it would be impossible to extract.) TFTC

01-Jan-12
Didn't take too long to solve and no one around GZ tonight

04-Dec-11
Came back around dawn for a quick find here. Seriously must have touched the cache last night! Thanks for the nice easy puzzle, and the appropriate hide. TFTC!!! Big Grin

03-Dec-11
Lots of drunk, and aggressive, teens around - spent a little while checking this area out (as it turned out, got very close to the cache, maybe even touched it, but then got distracted and searched elsewhere, even in the... well, where I wasn't supposed to go...) groped around a bit, but no cache... until...

14-Nov-11
Solved the puzzle a long time ago and made a quick find this evening while staying in Nelson. A very appropriate spot for the final! Signed log, TFTC.

09-Oct-11
Decided to make this one a night time find and very pleased to have done so, as the area was deserted. Would not like to attempt this with high muggle activity. After a false start, worked out the puzzle method quickly, then after a grope in the dark the cache was in hand, then off to dinner down the street. My last cache in Nelson this trip. Thanks for the hunt Kiwi Explorer.

19-Jul-11
Enjoyed the puzzle Thanks LGM

30-May-11
Had to enlist the help of a musical friend to solve this. It was a 1 for him and probably a 4 for me. TFTC

Great puzzle and location for the final. Thanks for bring us here to the informative display panels. TFTC

23-Apr-11
A nice puzzle, and a nice loaction for the cache, the last of the day. I spent a summer in Nelson many moons ago and obviosly didn't do much exploring. Caching is now rectifying that! Thanks.

17-Apr-11
Plenty of muggle around here early this morning, so I had to be patient, all good in the end TFTC

05-Mar-11
I had solved this one a couple of years ago - one of the first out of town puzzles I ever looked at because an interest in music. Finally got an opportunity to stop by GZ for a nice easy retrieve.

23-Jan-11
Hadn't solved this but when it popped up on the gps we kind of put 2 and 2 together and ended up with a quick step to the cache in the drizzle - signed log thanks for the cache and bringing me to somewhere I didnt know existed till today - must drive round with my eyes closed lol thanks for the cache Smile

23-Jan-11
When this was published i had my suspicions where it would end up. When the cache popped up on the GPS the navigator got me to pull over and we played on a hunch and came up with the cache. TFTC Smile

We are not very musical, but we could read the co-ordinates in the Walz in F Major. Liked the location of the final, which we walzed in to today to make our 450th puzzle find. Many thanks.

08-Jan-11
Found. Log to follow as time and laptop battery permit.

20-Nov-10
Despite a complete lack of knowledge of the subject matter, was able to deduce some co-ords.
As we have just a few days left in Nelson, we're keen to find as many (solved) puzzle caches as possible, so even though the rain had started, we braved saturation and picked up another smiley.
TFTC.

#1761 (13/19 on day 7 in Nelson). It was raining quite steadily so we decided to head back to the unit for an early tea, and hopefully some evening caching of the rain went away. Quick find by Troodles, and we sheltered under a verandah to sign the log.

25-Oct-10
Found with moneydork and rediguna

My GPS took me several metres away from GZ on the first visit, this had me scratching my head as the hint seemed ok. I returned a couple of hours later and hey presto, spot on. TFTC
