Out for a bit of R&R with monica_is _eivl and mrx2 fun had by all caches found. Great area. TFTC
With a forecasted top of 25 degrees, today was the perfect opportunity to grab some geocaches. Once again I found myself in the company of Na'wal, as we both had the day off work. So it was time to hit the highway for some geocaching fun in the sun. With a plethora of wildlife spotted, it turned out to be a very successful day. It was great to ditch the wheels and get back out on the tracks and stretch the legs.
This one took longer than we expected, but Na'wal eventually spotted the hide. Unfortunately the container has a hole in it, which needs some TLC.TFTC Highrod

What a fantastic sunny day to be out caching. DAB and I set off early to target a few select caches. We had a great day out, enjoying the bushland out in the north west. It always good to get off the main roads in the 4WD and walk in the bush.
This cache was a bit tricky to find but we soon discovered why as the cache had rolled down the hill a bit. The container is damaged and needs replacing. It was nice to have the trickling water here.
**Many thanks to highrod for this cache placement for us to find and enjoy**

Camping in the park and getting the caches while here. Found the container in poor condition allowing the log and contents to get wet. TFTC
Accidently logged this as found, when instead I should have logged the other caches. Oops. Will come back for this one however, as our visit to the area was rudely interrupted by car dramas.
Found the container and contents strewn about. Everything was dry so we signed the log and rehid the cache in what seemed like a good spot as close to GZ as our GPS indicated.

Be organised. Begin in one place and work your way around. Be thorough Look in every nook and cranny. I did all those excellent things. I was almost back at the starting point when I found it. Oh well. That’s life. A beautiful area so thanks for placing a cache for me to discover it. TFTC and the hunt highrod
Out today to explore Langhi Ghiran with kenare and kenbryl. We found your cache before it started to rain. Cigc. Tftc
Kenbryl, Sean.75 and I headed this way for a few caches and to explore. Thanks for highlighting this pretty area with your placement. Cigc tftc
Kenare spied this cache and made the grab. Unfortunately we left the pen in the georig so we had to do a quick run back down!! Oops!! Lol! Tftc
Found it! We randomly camped here and found there were caches, couldn't find 'no dogs allowed' but after a bit of a search found this one =)

Found with Beaker on a caching and camping adventure in and around Ararat... Beautiful spot, great place to spend a night... Thanks
The hint helped a lot as the GPS was pointing us elsewhere today. Thanks Highrod, found with The Tritonz and ThePacman.
McLookers, TheTritonz and I were hiking to some of the granite peaks around Langi Ghiran today. In between the higher climbs we made our way to some of these interesting features in the area.
We parked and went off to GZ. Nearby muggles must have been wondering about our strange quick visit to the campsite.
Mmmmm BBQ and burnt offerings... I actually felt like just staying there and having a BBQ of our own right at this peaceful spot. Who doesn't enjoy a good campfire and a smoky BBQ?!
Thanks, Highrod.

Don't feel at all guilty about claiming this cache as I beat Pa to it. It was only a short walk from the campsite, TFTC TNLN SL

I was after a challenging looking cache grab for something different. I had been eyeing off this area for some time as the walk to the top looked to be interesting. (for those who know me will know that I am not much of a walker, for those who don't, I will admit I am a little unfit and have a little extra weight to carry. A worthy challenge was ahead).
After grabbing NO Dogs I made the short walk to this one first off I could not find the cache but after noting my 8m off GPSr reading on the last cache I adjusted and soon had the cache in hand. This was kind of a straight forward cache hide and it was only after talking to highrod the day after at an event we worked out that it was not meant to be in that spot. but in fact the first place I looked.
Now it was time to Climb the little hill.

Mrs FV has allowed me some quality time that is being used to get a few smilies.
I have logged the seven traditional caches in the Langi Ghiran Park (the seventh is just outside) plus multis GCBED3 & GCP3WP that have their final co-ords in the Park. I'm unfit (still have a good heart), don't train or exercise, receive the age pension and did it solo!
I think many folks have experienced a similar cooking achievement which has been less severe through to being ruined after catching fire. Only out here it is a total disaster coz there is no freezer, supermarket or take-away.
Fine day or two, wasn't slippery today but wasn't complacent and watched my step.

Decided to take a break from other things on a beautiful Spring afternoon, and head out to Langi Ghiran. So glad we made this decision - what a spectacular spot! There were a few tents at the camping grounds and lots of kids running around the various walking tracks, but they didn't seem to notice or care about where we were walking (or stopping). Took us a little while but we eventually had the cache in hand. Had a great time. TFTC.
Nice walk up towards the reservoir, but as the description suggests, it was slippery. TFTC

Together with my wife I went to Melbourne to visit our daughter. We took her on a road trip in camper van at among other Great Ocan Road and on to the Grampians National Park. I took the opportunity to log some caches during the trip and this was one of them. Here we had a walk after a trail. TFTC!

Here for a camping weekend with cadets and decided to go looking for a couple of caches along the way.
Found this one after a short hunt, signed the log and returned it to it's hiding place.
This is a great location and we'll be back with family next time.

Took the short detour on the way home to look for a couple here. This was the first and it was found quickly at 2:35pm as I watched that the muggles gathered in the camp ground were not following my progress.

YAY MY 300TH CACHE!!!
We set out to find my 300th cache. And it took 3 attempts to get it after 2 DNF's before this one. However I am glad this one was my 300th as it was a good cache in an awesome place that I will definatley be coming back to, to camp with the family. We also had fun dodging the Roos around here as we nearly skittled 3 mobs in on the way in and another two mobs on the way out. I dont know how our car didnt get damaged or roos damaged. There were several "brown pants" moments.
Thanks for a most memorable cache. A favorite point from me.

Just a quick stop by here to catch some nature, bit nearing forty degrees so won't be hiking much today! Tnln tftc
Embarassed myself a bit after finding and replacing the cache by slipping and falling into mud lol.
Our second find for the day on our first day looking. Good location near a great looking camp site.
The GPS was very jumpy here! It took so long to settle that I had wandered further upstream than needed and discovered a little resevior before doubling back. A great location, with quite adventurous terrian today with the rain and alot of water flowing past. The cache was still dry and in good condition.
Thanks Highrod

Whilst having a very enjoyable caching and camping weekend with Flyjabiru1, WRXRO and the cache owners, Highrod, we wandered up to find this one. We had a bit of a search and slip around and cache was located, much to the surprise of Highrod who hadn't actually hidden it in the place it was found.. So cache was then returned to actual GZ.... Gotta love cache creep.... And gotta love caching..... Woof woof. Thanks highrod
Took a while of moving back and forth with poor sat lock to locate this one, but found it in the end.
This was only a lunch break, but I have spent some time bushwalking & camping on this mountain before, and love it.

I've had fun hunting for and finding this cache, It never ceases to amaze me how the CO in the first instance comes up with the idea for placing a cache at this location. After signing the log and then replacing the cache, another find becons me. Thanks highrod for the cache.
Scrambled across the rocks and dodged the trickling water to grab this cache, noone about so no muggle interference.
A delightful spot for a cache - we really enjoyed the beauty of the area, water still running over the boulders. We returned after doing some of the other caches and had our lunch nearby. Thanks highrod
Camping here for the weekend so I thought I'd check cache condition. All safe and in good condition

I was up this way to pick up a multi cache, that I had ended up making a mistake on, so I couldn't pick it up, but I had no issues with this one. The cache was in perfect order and I only had minor run ins with spiders and prickles on the way in. Thanks highrod.

Very picturesque spot and awesome surrounds. The water was flowing just metres from the cache location and provided a very pleasant backdrop. Great to have this one as find No. 100 as have always been fascinated by this park. TFTC.

The GPS was playing silly buggers near GZ, but it had to be there where 'things' didn't belong. Cache container was safe and well sealed. It was securely re-hidden with a little less camouflage, but it would take a very persistent 'animal' to dislodge it. TFTC TN left a weroamin token.
GPS was erratic as weroamin stated but he found the booty regardless. It is a pity that the water was not running but I did hear the flow inside the pipe and wondered what that sound below was - soon found the source - a hole in the ground with some sort of valve in it for the water supply. The bush walk was enjoyable. TFTC.
An easy find, given that the rock was reasonably dry and the container was out and open with the contents spilled next to it. I don't think it had been muggled, as when everything was put back in, the container was reasonably full. It appeared that some small creature had probably dislodged it and it had bumped open. I replaced the cache in the position from whence I had judged it to have come and added to and reinforced its camouflage to make it more secure. Certainly a nice little camping spot with plenty of interesting old infrastructure to explore. (Especially that gurgling thing! I assume it has something to do with the reservoir?) Many thanks for introducing me to this location Highrod.
There was water flowing down the rock probably for the first time in a while. There were muggles not far away but the cache was easily found, retrieved, and replaced, thanks highrod. A nice spot.
There are a few in the area... found this one while we were there. We have camped here in the past but would never have known what was in the area. Only started caching a few days ago. Nice find - kids are always keen to see what's inside, signed log, TNLN.

Came in for the 3 caches on offer with the Dragonfreys today and had a great time climbing on the rocks around the cache. An interesting spot and I can see what is meant about the wet weather. TFTC.
Found with Razz'l'Dazz'n'Co on their quest for 100 today. The kids both big and small had fun with this one as they yearned for rocks to climb. I bet GZ is pretty exciting place to be after a heavy rainfall. Thanks for the fun.
Like with "No Dogs Allowed" I had some muggles help me with this one. This time, there was Mum (Rhonda), Dad (Hayden), and six kids all looking for the cache. I found it but kept quiet, and seconds later, one of the kids found it also. I think they all enjoyed the "treasure hunt". Thanks to highrod for the cache.

Deano described the road in here as the most "arse-numbing" I would ever experience and he wasn't far wrong. However I think the vibrations managed to shake a lot of the mud off. I enjoyed reading the story of your burnt offering, I once attempted a birthday cake which had a burnt shell. It was smothered in ice-cream and topping and presented as birthday pudding!

We came to this one from "no dogs allowed " and as we were walking through we were hoping that there weren't going to be any burnt offerings as there were signs of a recent bush fire through the area. Our fears were relieved when we came to the edge of the burnt area with still 40 metres to go. The cache was located after a short search

First find for the day on my way to the Grampians Picnic event.
I had been up here several times, so when Highrod mentioned the corrugated roads... I knew he wasn't kidding.
Nearly hit a roo on the way in, so drove very gingerly on the way out.

Would love to see the rockface with water coming down it, but I don't think that would be for some time.
Thanks to highrod.. cant wait to get back in the area.
