01-Nov-10
No wonder I couldn't find it! The co-ordinates were in the GPS from a previous attempt to visit. This will be another day job Smile

24-Jul-10
I will replace this one soon

27-Jun-10
its gone to geocache heavan, area has been pruned and tidied up

12-May-10
I worked at the Repat Hospital Heidelberg for a few years where Vivian Bullwinkell was the matron for a while (long before me.) Despite the location I was able to have a good look for the cache with no success. There are distinct signs of some major trimming here.

20-Dec-09
Found on a caching day out with demolineux and our new grandson.
The log had to be handled very delicately to prevent disintegration. Maybe a replacement??? Needed two attempts to recover. Muggles everywhere. SL

20-Dec-09
Found this one with a slight bit of trouble! Very high muggle traffic area. Had to lie in wait while two girl muggles sat right THERE and ate icecreams! Eventually made it though.
TNLN, TFTC.

21-Nov-09
An easy find for the day, this will make it 15 for the day so far. The wife & kids stayed in the car while i attempted this one. A few muggles around. Just read the clue, it worked for me. I stood reading the plaque, & bent & stretched my legs & oh there it is! TFTC

03-Nov-09
My first cache on the 3rd day of my expedition to SA. I was not expecting to be caching in Kapunda, but circumstances dictated otherwise (it's a long story told in my previous log, so I won't reiterate it all here!). Fortunately it was an easy find, but I still took my camera as a decoy to explain my presence - and I may just waymark the war memorial as a result. TFTC.

02-Nov-09
Almost didn't attempt because of muggles...but decided to give it a go. Was looking at the plaques on the big stone, deciding how to be stealthy about searching, when I spied the cache container. Find #12 of 23 on my semi-big day off work geocaching. Cheers & TFTC!

31-Oct-09
The Noodler grabbed it. Signed log book. was replacing cache when a lady came out of shop and asked if we had lost our car keys as she had found some. We thanked her and assured her it wasn't us!

29-Oct-09
Easy find, just before dark.

18-Oct-09
It has taken a couple of go's to get this one but today we can finally put in a log.
Thanks

I finally get to cross this one off my list! There was not a muggle in sight tonight, and this was found in about 3 seconds (after O'cholio told me it was missing!).
I have absolutely no idea how we could possibly have missed this cache last time!
Thanks PG Smile

18-Oct-09
Was our last cache for the night. A few people in our group had looked for this one before and couldn't find it. We found it really quickly and those who couldn't find it before were happy. TFTC. Razz

05-Oct-09
Found at 13:45.
Bought lunch nearby, ate it on the bench across the road, then realised there was a cache very close by.

03-Oct-09
Found this cache while the penguins were filling up the car. 30th of 55 finds today in the company of the penguins. TFTC

nice find for geo son jordie tftc.sl. netdrifter

19-Sep-09
The old doing up your shoe laces trick works a treat here, also with the little members of the clan standing around the cache was soon in our hands.
Once again I got caught without a replacement log on hand, this cache needs a new one.
We were lucky to find a spot to put our mark so all was well.

TFTC SL

Holy smokin Catfish Wacka Ma Dooza!!!

In Kapunda for some caching fun
Before home to see the Crows get done Sad
Was like Rundle Mall
There's some folk festival
That's 5 out of 10 on this run

12-Sep-09
Having met Postie Girl on Wednesday night, we were wondering when we might discover our first PG cache. Today Ali Twirby was performing at the Kapunda Celtic Festival and we quickly discovered that PG had some caches in town. So before the performance Teeny Twirby (Kiera) and Scott set off to find our first PG cache. On arriving at the GZ Kiera quickly had the cache in hand SL TNLN. TFTC Postie Girl.

Find 11 for today.

I felt awful looking as a lady in the RSL was eagle eyeing us like we werent allowed to be there, so we became tourists taking photos of the kids with the statue, then sitting down for a break......I was relieved to go.

Everywhere we went around here we had a police car behind us, I was so worried lol

The tidiness of the area had me worried the cache might have been muggled, but another look proved it is still safely hidden. This town certainly has many war memorials!

Thank you for the cache.

10-May-09
Took a bit of searching, and Freddo says the area has been tidied up and trimmed back since his visit. Was a bit worried the cache had been cleaned away, but it was still there. The logsheet is starting to look a bit worse for wear though.

Thanks Postiegirl!

Couldn't find any mooses (or is it meece?) or squirrels, but we did find a cache.

02-Apr-09
We really enjoy these memorials and as we were staying in town tonight we took the advantage of going down late evening to grab this cache. This worked well as there were relatively few people around and the cache was an easy find. It's great to see our war heroines getting the recognition they deserve
Thanks pg06 for the cache.

Can't believe I overlooked the cache and nearly gave up. Was going to phone a friend, but went for one more look and there it was, right where the clue said it was. TFTC.

15-Nov-08
A tricky move getting this while muggles drove around staring at the strange person standing on the corner looking inconspicuous. I didn't realise Vivian Bullwinkel actually came from Kapunda, but it makes sense when seeing the monument to the nurses at the 'Lest We Forget' cache. TFTC.

Saturday, 2:30pm: Let's go to Clare for the weekend!
Saturday, 3:00pm: Leave town
Sunday, 7:00pm: Home!
Somewhere in the middle: 35 caches!

It was cooler in the shade by the car anyway.

12-Oct-08
So straight forward that Anja hadn't even had the chance to leave the car

We stopped and planned our trip home, as there was some much needed shade and fresh air. We even resisted the temptation to get a nice cold beverage from the building next door

TNLNSL

11-Oct-08
Easy find, but tricky with all the muggles around especially right next to the bottle shop! TNLNSL TFTC

13-Sep-08
found just on dusk, wasn't on today's agenda but got side tracked and ended up in Freeling and Kapunda was then on the way home.... unfortunately that (almost dark) meant the site was not investigated as thoroughly as it should have been.... oh, well.... an excuse to venture this way again some time Smile TNLNSL

cheers 4 da cache!

Find# 289
Took: Nothing / Left: Nothing
Just a pity that this memorial is adjacent to the bottle shop of the hotel. At least the memorial and its surrounds are well maintained by the council. TFTC postiegirl06.

Had wanted to do this on the way back from CCC Event but didn't have the sheet with coords!! This time on the way back form the Riverland, a little night caching was in order Big GrinHope your seeking was muggle free. Mine wasn't and they must have thought that wierd lady with the wet shoes, taking photsos a of memorials at night...but then again they were in a the bottle-o!

There are times when you go on a caching run and when you get to logging them all, there's always one where you can't come up with anything to say. Well, for me today, it's this cache. TFTC

18-Jul-08
What a busy place with the comings and goings. I enjoyed finding out just what the cache name meant when I arrived at GZ. I'm amazed the cache has lasted with the bold hide.

Thanks again postiegirl.

Fortunately I was here early in the morning before the area got busy so it wasa quick find here as well[^]

This was fun at 11pm! Mabar staged a coughing fit to explain the need to stop the car and get out just there, with mrs m needing to assist by offering a drink of water. (The pedestrian passing by seemed to swallow that anyway!) SL TFTC

After dinner at the pub we all walked along the main street to collect this cache. Mrs S was slightly distracted taking a phone call from England to announce the arrival of a new niece, then passing on the news to our daughter in Bangkok.

Have read quite a bit about the cache namesake and was impressed by her activities.
thanks postiegirl

Had to resort to the hint and even then I thought “No way!†But it was “Yes, WAY [^]â€. Signed the log with The Stanleys and went off in search of Harry Potter. After an enormous counter meal at the local, the walk was a life saver. I was fit to burst Big Grin
