Logs
A bit of a heart starter before the main event at the falls.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the ninth day of Augustus Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was so hot. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. I found this cache on a trip from Adelaide to the top end with Freddo for a few weeks. We scrambled up the hill for a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Kerr NT for the cache.
What else to do at camp than go find the caches! Not a regular size but a small one instead this one. Tftc!
After camping at Robin Falls last night, I got the blood pumping climbing up the sign this cache. Great view. Tftc
Travelling with richlink on a trip from Perth to Darwin and return through the centre to SA and home again. We are in Darwin for a few days before heading south again.
Today, we drove to Adelaide River, enjoying the scenery, history, and, of course, the caches along the way. Thanks Kerr NT

Travelling with iluvtrekking and a return visit after eleven years. Today we are caching down to Adelaide River and surrounds. Certainly not a regular now, a small vitamin container but we found it. Thanks for the hide.
We are camped close by so decided to grab this one. Found it, although this container won't hold much ammo. Lovely falls and was great to have a swim.
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
After finding up on the hill we naturally followed the road down to Robin falls. This cache had also had a recent fire through. We climbed up and made a quick find though the cache isn’t quite what was originally hidden anymore. I saw a little bush mousie as I approached the hide. Easily spotted due to not much Grass Cover. Cache 9900 on 25 Mar 2023.
Greetings from the ACT! TikvaNZ and I are finally in Darwin after our initial plan to travel to Darwin in August 2020 was thwarted by COVID 19 travel coming to a grinding halt! Just here for the weekend, so focusing on different types, counties and a few different DT combinations!
After visiting Robin falls, we could not resist stopping for this one. TikvaNZ made the find, he is so quick up these hills, even on a stupidly hot day!
Thanks Kerr NT for the cache and the fun!

AngelG27 and I are finally in Darwin from Canberra for the weekend. This trip was originally booked for August 2020, so we are finally using up our travel credits. Today's focus was counties from Darwin to Katherine with some interesting short walks thrown in. After a walk to the falls, we did another uphill scramble to grab this one. Easily found. TFTC.

After making our way along the Trail to the waterfall and up, we walked back to the car which was parked just immediately below GZ. It was a steep rocky and a little slippery walk to the top where, after a short search we located the replacement Hide.
Thanks to previous finders for the replacement here.

Arrived here with ilook4geo and pprass and the rocky hill was successfully scaled. A good look around revealed nothing, so a decision was made to keep the cache alive and a pill bottle with log was placed in a hiding spot. All names were added to the log and then a careful descent of the hill was made. Thank you to KerrNT for putting this cache into play.
Continued our caching morning with pprass and goingplaces2. Quite a rocky walk up the hill but a cache was the reward. Log was signed and all was replaced. TFTC.
Found at 10:19:00 AM(t) GAFF? in the company of goingplaces2 and ilook4geo.
Well as we were passing by and this cache was just 54 metres up there, we parked our vans and Alan and I went scooting up and were at GZ within a few minutes - but then the wheels fell off We looked and looked and wondered how on earth a regular container up here could go missing - who comes up here other than cachers?
Well we weren't going to go into all of this effort without a find, so we helped out the CO (are they still active?) and replaced the cache with a small plastic pill box.
Thanks Kerr NT.

A few hidey holes to choose from but no tell-tale cairns or signs of a definite GZ. If its there, its elusive!
Gave it a crack in my thongs. Got to GZ, had a good look. Saw the neatly stacked rocks but no cache.

After tackling the Robin Falls cache, this was a little easier. Just a short clamber up the hill and cache was located. TFTC
After our Parisian trip in the first week of the Easter holidays, we (i and my husband Voske1967) went for 3 weeks to the other side of the world to enjoy the friendly atmosphere, food, landscapes and culture of Australia. Of course, geocaches were also searched for and found in Perth, Monkey Mia, Denham, Newman, Port Hedland, Darwin, ... . This trip downunder will stay with us for a long time! It was pretty hot in Australia for the autumn season
Continuing our travels South then West today and we decided to stay here the night. I went for the walk up and grab the cache before walking to the water and having a quick swim. They are currently burning off so we smell smoke most of the night I imagine. Beautiful views. TFTC

We are on the move again after a week caching around Katherine as we continue our meandering across northern Australia after attending the Red Centre Experience over Easter.
With a friendly, but often impatient muggle for a husband, I planned to stop at occasional caches where it was safe to pull over when towing a van. This was #8 on a very exciting day having just logged my first 5/5. Was it tiredness, lack of adrenalin or anti climax? but I felt this one harder than the previous one. No worries I found it, stamped log and returned it to its hidey hole. Luckily I then managed to find an easier way down. Thanks again for these wonderful caches KerrNT.

TFTC, we did feel like mountain goats though, but worth the climb the view was amazing!
Out and about from Adelaide River we took the tourist route to visit many new and interesting places. We picked this one up on the way. cache in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

#622 for us and another on our NT trip. First the generic bit...We went from Darwin via Ubirr and Jabiru through Kakadu to Cooinda, Pine Creek, Katherine and as far south as Mataranka before heading back via Edith Falls and Litchfield for a final day in Darwin before catching the 2 am flight home to chilly Victoria. What a trip and some magnificent sights, some of which we'd never have seen without a cache or two to lure us in. Great to see so many large caches and thanks to the hiders and maintainers for sharing your home with us !
The sign said "scenic route", so of course, we took it. This was the only cache we did along the way though. A scramble up the hill in thongs was not the wisest I guess, but I made it. The recent burnoff had cleared the way, but not damaged the cache or its contents. We'd thought about staying nearby, but in the end, we ran out of time.
Thanks for the reason to stop and for the smiley !

a great morning out at Robin Falls. took the mountain goat path up the hill and made a quick find. had a small stumble on the way down....with accompanying 'war wound' (small scratch on the hand!)...but a great spot! tftc
Travelling south towards Pine Creek on our second trip around Australia.
Not knowing whether we could turn the caravan around further down the road, we settled on only doing this cache.
With a short but step walk, the cache was found where expected.
Thanks for the cache, Kerr NT.

We picked this one up after completing robin Falls so the trek up the hill in 38 Deg C felt a little harder than it should be. We found the cache easily enough and then completed the signing duties before re hiding. We carefully made our way down as the grass and rocks made a slippery combination. TFTC

I had returned to Robin Falls for both a good nights sleep, and three cache finds in the morning
So bright and early I set off for this cache first
There was not too much long grass and by following roo trails I was at the top in no time.
Hooray !!
First find of the day at 7:30 am
I had packed the backpack with plenty of wet stuff, so from here the trek continued up the hill to find the "Up On The Hill" cache
This cache is still in great nick and safe in its snug fitting hidey hole [^]

Hard climb for an old fellow but well worth it. I have a few cuts now as evidence of climbing this hill. Left a trackable for good measure. Ilparpajim

It was a hot day to be climbing hills around Adelaide River. GPS was all over the place but we eventually found it. T4TC.
Having opted out at the falls, I was pleased to be able to make the short scramble to this one, thanks KerrNT.
A nice easy wander up to this one. Lots of people camping here at the moment, has anyone gone to the Darwing show or are they all out here camping? SL TFTC
Great hide in a great location. I wish I had more time look at the falls and other cache.
Heading south after the V8's grabbing some caches along the way.

Sorry for the delay in logging this - found while on a trip to NT from SA to visit Racing Stripes (and then heading over to WA). The climb to the cache was a lot easier than the logs led us to believe, and we ended up having more trouble with the GPSr making up its mind. Found it eventually in an expected spot. TFTC
Ammo Boxes are the way to go! Nice (puff puff) climb! Beware of loose rocks! nearly went base over apex on the way down. Thanks FTF. [^] [^]
Found while on holiday from NZ. We walked to falls first then scrambled up to this cache. A good size, and neatly hidden, thanks.
WanderingAus wandered by on day 72 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, heading through Adelaide River with the WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO), with the aim of finding a few caches near there and picking up any travellers I came across. I only had a limited amount of time, as we needed to be back in time to have dinner at Stokes Hill Wharf before the monthly Top End Mustangs line dancing at the wharf.
Before tackling this one we went to the end of the track and I made an attempt on GC22GD8 Robin Falls by gibbo003. After reaching almost to the top of the rocks overlooking the falls I had coursed to and fro looking in the spots where I would have placed a cache, then decided to finally read the cache description.
It was at that point that I realised I'd been attempting a 5/5 cache, in the middle of a 32 degrees plus temperature and 50% plus humidity day. It was also at that point that I realised I'd forgotten a couple of things:
1. I'm not as young as I was when I joined the Army 43 years ago.
2. At age 31 I could already "Bust a poofer valve" on a forced run up Heartbreak Hill at Canungra.
3. With only one lung I have only half the climbing power that I had when I was young.
After a bit of a rest I decided to abandon that hunt, because I figured I'd need at least another ten or fifteen minutes to get to the top, which would add another ten or fifteen minutes to get back down again. It took a while to get back down to creek level, then I made my way back to the geoPajero.
On the way out, in accordance with my earlier plan, I hunted down this one. As I stepped out of the geoPajero I looked up and immediately thought "Bugger, it's probably up there", and that proved to be correct. I could probably have found it without even using the gpsr, but I carried it anyway, and huffed and puffed my way up there to make an extremely quick and easy find.
My find No 3836, LCC, TNLNSL, dropped The Honeymoon Mapamundi (ref = TB35YYZ) and Sieben Meilen Stiefel (ref = TB3MRMT) (aka Seven League Boots), also dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC and my WanderingAus GeoMobile TB in for a visit before grabbing them back again.
Licence to Cache (ref = TB2646J) was still not in the cache. On 4 April 2009 LUNATIC_200 posted a note for it "This one may have gone MIA as I was unable to find it in Rockin Robin this afternoon "
It needs to be reported as missing.

We found after a nice walk in the warm weather. Nice views though. One hill climb was enough for us but so we didn't attempt the other 2 caches in the area.
A great location, got here early but the flys and the heat still beat us - thanks Kerr NT TNLN
So much easier with the previously-mentioned hiking pole.
Thanks, too, to WD for the stone masonry - I'm sure that after my puffing up the hill there would have been no strength to wrestle with slabs of stone!

On our way out from Robin Falls we pulled up to grab this one too. The likely GZ was spotted from the road and a quick slog up the hill for Mr WD followed. The cache container was quickly spotted but the large slab of rock used to conceal it took a little longer to remove. Cache was quickly signed and then a few minutes spent rearranging the rocks to make it a little easier for others to access. TFTC Kerr NT

We had been working near the Daly River road and were on our way home. The Falls is always a nice spot to drop in, and spend a bit of time. The river always looks good. Been past GZ before but not actually to the spot. A short walk corrected that.
Thanks, Robmc.
