Day 2: fitzy_1965 and I headed to the Lake Illawarra area to do some caching with friends for the Canberra long weekend. We signed our group as SHI (ShellHarbour Invasion) which consisted of Kittykatch, Joolay, contesta, ispoeda, Tankengine, dty73, fitzy_1965 and myself or if most had already found we signed our own names. It was a great few days away and lots of caches found. Thanks to the CO's for placement.
Long weekend with Contesta, Kittykatch, Joolay, DTY73, Tankengine, fitzy_1965, and MinnieK with the main goal to finish the SES series. Signing as SHI - Shellharbour Invasion. Nothing like a bit of bush bashing... TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Find # 1222726/5/2024 10:38DAY 2Caching adventures continue and trying to tick off as many on the solved pile as I can. Headed across to the coast for the long weekend to meet up with a few other CBR cachers. The main target is the SES series, having worked on these puzzles last year and gradually made the solves. Some with help and others straightforward. Either way it was an enjoyable series, generally. Now its time to collect. And of course with so many others to choose from in this area, its a busy weekend.Always shenanigans in a group as you never quite know what might happen but its guaranteed to be fun! The group consists of Joolay, KittyKatch, isopeda, minniek, fitzy_65, dty73, and Tankengine. Signing as SHIAll caches located, retrieved, signed, and replaced. Thanks BlacknWhite for Shiftwork
Chooo ooo [Found] on a quick trip down to Shell Harbour with dty73! Found with a bunch of other Canberra cachers! Signed SHI (Shell Harbour Invaders)Thanks BlacknWhite!
Tankengine and I drove down from Canberra leaving at 6:30am Saturday morning and joined our friends (Kittykatch, Joolay, contesta, Isopeada, minniek and fitzy_1965) and we had become part of the Shellharbour Invasion Team (SHI). We could only stay one night, so up early Sunday for a quick bite to eat and more caching before we had to leave everyone to head home again. We had a fun time caching, logging many finds and a couple DNFs, enjoyed a lovely dinner at the very busy club at the great event on Saturday night and most of all hanging out with great friends. This cache: A quick find. Log a bit damp. But ok to write on. Tftc!!!
Beautiful area nice glimpses of views.Looking forward to a warmer weekend enjoying the lovely Wollongong area with Kittykatch, contesta, ispoeda, Tankengine, dty73, fitzy_1965 and minniek. Signing as SHI for Shell Harbour Invaders. Thanks for getting me out and about BlacknWhite
This was an easy enough solve however we took the LONG way around to find the cache. After signing duties, I saw a quicker way out but a dog came down barking at us so we had to retreat the way we had come.
Easy enough to work out, but took a while ensuring I had the correct coordinates, as very overgrown and no obvious route to the GZ. Anyway tftc
Out on a Lake Illawarra SES clean up mission today. Lots of great Rats caches to collect on a perfect summers day. All cache were in place and in good condition. Made a quick find here.

Out caching with Brewmaker on a day dedicated to the art of geocaching. Solved this puzzle quite some time ago.
We thought we found an odd one, but expanding my search, had CIH some 10m westward

A day out with Everest High to do a loop around Lake Illaware to find the SES caches from The Rats. When close to our route, we also picked up a few other caches.
It was a great day out; very hot but the cold sea breeze made the drive very pleasant.
Unfortunately the area around the lake is also overgrown with Lantana, our least favourite weed. It even made us stop getting closer to some of the caches. It did spoil the fun somewhat.
Why put a cache out in the middle of lantana? Doesn't this area have any nice hiding places?

What a nice view the houses along this road have! Didn’t have much view from the top though. But the birds in the lovely big trees here were singing happily. Lovely spot!
Good coords here led us straight to the cache. All good and dry. Signed the log and replaced as found.
Thank you for the cache and beaut puzzle too.

After dropping my wife off with her friends for a catch up, time to head out and pick up a couple of local hides. Such a beautiful if not a little windy day, and I enjoyed doing lots of walking in mostly deserted locations.
Certainly driven around this hill plenary of times, but never been up here. But the vista from here would be awesome, if not for the trees! Solved the night before, and parked up and took the walk over to the area of the GZ. Nice big container that looks to be pretty new considering the age of the hide! Signed log, and bashed my way back to the mobile!

OCW GGCoconut and HJBanana. On this beautiful spring day, we have decided to journey south and enjoy hunting down some caches in the fresh air and sunshine around Shellharbour. I've never been to this location before and would not have known it was here if not for the cache. Enjoyed the views on the drive up before parking the car. With not a soul about, we leisurely made our way over towards GZ. Here, I descended a little deeper than expected until I noticed a likely hiding spot. Extracting the cache, I made my way back out and we sat on the lovely soft green grass examining the contents - as noted in previous logs, it is well stocked! After signing the log, I then returned it to where I had found it and we made our way back to the geo-mobile, ready for the next adventure. TFTC!
Visiting the area from Maitland on a wet long weekend of geocaching. Quick and easy find. TFTC
Woof! Took my son while the ladies shopped. We got there in the end after many wrong turns, lots of prickles and a red herring cache. I've never seen so much swag. Left a bracelet, took some brooches. Trackable is definitely not in there. Tftc and the great adventure.
Found it with my dad! Thanks for the good hide and happy with my moshi monster haha
TFTC. I spent MANY days as a child having adventures in the bush on My Warrigal.
Find 203 for the tribe.
Out doing what we love this valentines day! We brought geodog to this dog park which we had never visited before and wouldn't have known about apart from Geocaching. We took geodog for a walk around the hill and there are views in every direction. Not many dogs to speak of though today.
Cache was located after negotiating a ton of weeds nearby, being guarded by a small lizard. Excellent collection of swag in the cache which the geokids enjoyed playing swaps with.
We dropped off Pierre the Primate (trackable) for his next adventure here who is a trackable who has achieved everything he set out to do - baguettes under the Eiffel tower!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache and for introducing us to this dog area.

Having this puzzle and an SES series one solved, I decided today was the day to go caching. Being familiar with the area I was pretty confident it wouldn't take long.
There seems to be a bit of work happening at GZ. After a bit of a quick bush bash we arrived at GZ. Sadly this area now appears to be frequented by drugs users, made evident by several syringes and bongs, even safer was an empty cache sitting out in the open.

While over from Tassie to attend the Gong OzGeo Muster 2019 myself and Goose of GooseandEgg we managed to polish off few series and grab some other random caches in our five days on the big island.
We flew out on Thursday night and arrived back in the apple isle late on Tuesday night, thanks for all the caches.
We normally try and get some old caches or D/T's we are missing but this time it was more about a couple of series and catching up with a few fellow cachers.

Working my way around the lake doing the SES with stainless steel rat, Tassie Trekkers and whitewebbs, I'd solved this puzzle so we made the small detour to grab this one on the way. After a short walk we found the cache easily enough.
Thanks for the puzzle BlacknWhite

Arrived in Sydney from New Zealand Feilding on the 5th July and early next morning headed straight to do some caching in the Mega area and happy to finally get the opportunity to collect some light house puzzle caches. a great series enjoyed by so many fellow geocaches great to have a trail and enjoy a Mega close by. Thank you for taking the time to place so many variety of caches we know how many hours it takes to put out a geoart. You chose a lovely area to explore well done. A nice quick find here today cache was all good placed back where we found it. all set for the next fellow geocacher to find. worked this one out late one night before travelling over for the Mega. Its nice to be able to work out a easy puzzle from time to time. thank you for that.
Found while out caching with a group of cachers today including Maccamob and pprass. An easy puzzle and find.
Staying at Cataract Park for the OZ Geomuster with whitewebbs, gooseandegg and stainless-steel-rat we found these caches and this was one we found.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We eventually came up with an acronym of DAMNP for the group. We mostly concentrated on park and grab caches, but this puzzle came up too. Nice spot, easy puzzle.

Found today with injeanious, we are still a little nervous caching in Australia especially as there was a very large spider on the previous cache we found, so it took us a while to get our confidence up to search properly. Tftc!
After a long but great day yesterday, today's plan was to be a bit more relaxed. We still wanted to grab a few caches and see plenty while we were here in this great area. We set off early with the plan of tackling a bit of this series.
With the puzzle sorted out a little while ago on a puzzle solving mission, today was the day to collect. We met a lovely older man that was enjoying a walk before I went in to find this one. There was a bit of rubbish around and with a jumpy GPSr, it took a little while to finally come up with this hide.
**Thanks to BlacknWhite for hiding this cache for us to find and enjoy**

We headed down for this one. I was a little concerned that there was tiny wee snake under there all nice and sleepy, but it turned out to be a centipede. I didn't get the hint, but it was an easy enough find. Tftc from team Jeje.
No luck for me today.
I was searching in the wrong place. I had made a mistake when entering the solved coordinates. Doh! Will have to come back some other time.

I managed to get a few days off work to head up to the Wollongong Mega and to make a relaxing time of it by spending a few days around the area. Lot's of great caches, great lab caches and awesome views across Wollongong made for a very enjoyable few days and I hadn't been in this area since I was a small kid so couldn't remember anything.
After some morning lab cache adventures I headed over hear to the coast for some puzzles I had solved in case I had some spare time. Which I did thanks to my extra days off.
These were all relativity easy finds after having some problems solving the puzzles. Only one DNF today but some nice walks out in the bush.
Thanks BlacknWhite for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Today I am on an OZGM2019 mega area tour doing caches around Wilton in the hills and then onto the coastal areas as far down as Blackbutt. A good day which included some unloved caches, lab caches, two event caches, and a number of retro caches such as this one.
I went down the wrong trail a few times and resisted bush bashing (which is now often required when finding older caches) but a process of elimination got me to where I needed to be and sure enough another classic retro hide. We really did hide these better in the old days. TFTC and puzzle, BlacknWhite. Lovely little trails thru this little patch of woods.

Down to the Mega early and eager to get started on ticking off all the must do items, including the SES series. I have been working on this series for a long time on and off knowing that one day I’ll be down this way. I am so excited to finally get it finished!

All caches were found sometime between 5:49am Friday 2nd and 6:28pm Sunday 4th November.
I’ve been invited to attend a special event in Wollongong on the Saturday, well why not make it a whole weekend away with some caching to go along with it. About a month ago I started looking at caches I could find along the way and noticed that if things go to plan I could make my #1000. This didn’t end up happening. I found out when I approached the GZ’s of a few of the caches I had chosen didn’t have parking space to stop and/or were difficult to find which lead some caches into DNF’s. I did however love finding all the caches I did find and to end on an even happier note the last cache I found was a FTF (GA13111)!!! There were lots of great camos and styles of hides that I hadn’t come across before and new styles for common hides that provided me with plenty of fun and ideas for new caches. Most of the caches I found were in great condition but for the rest of them, the maintenance required is log books/sheets and/or containers need replacing, camo needs replacing, D/T and coordinates need correcting. On some of the smaller logs I signed as 2/11 JM, 3/11 JM and 4/11 JM. TB visit on all found caches over the whole weekend. I would like to thank all CO’s for the caches I found, the locations I visited and for the fun it provided me over the whole weekend!
Weekend totals:
45 Finds (41 Groundspeak and 4 GCA)
4 DNF’s and a lot of drive-bys
Cache Types: 7 (Trad, Virtual, Mystery, WherIGo, Trig-Point, Earth and Multi)
This one was next on the list. A puzzle that I could solve! Once I was at GZ, a quick find was made. TFTC and bringing me to this location.
P.S. Sorry about the generic log.
P.S.S. All Caches found have been logged in order and backtracked to the correct day.

I had worked out this simple puzzle a few weeks ago awaiting my time to travel south again.
Today was the day and I used the car GPSr including my Garmin hand held GPSr in combo to steer me to close to GZ.
A short walk following the pointer took me into some wet grass (ugh!) I gotta work in these wet socks. Anyway didn't take long to locate the cache and do the book work. TFTC BlacknWhite.
Nice easy one and a pleasant place that I haven't visited before. BTW I changed into my working boots and the day went well

Solved: ????. Solved easily enough.
**The Cache**
Guess what, I'm back !! How long has it been since I was last here, too long!! I've redeemed myself of the DNF, yipee!!! How much has this placed changed, it's not like it was back then. One thing I know for sure, I don't know how on earth I managed to miss GZ last time , it may well have been the silly gps I was using. I have upgraded since then and have to say my caching skills have improved dramatically. Anyway, SL and returned cache to its hide'y hole.
**The Day**
Looks like it's a *Rats* day out today with all the caches found belonging to *The Rats*. OCW *Little Kitten* and *DustyJapserJet*. I finally completed solving the SES series of caches Yippee !! It has been a challenge but I got there in the end. With that finally done I was keen to head out and complete the series by ticking off the finds. Today was the day to undertake that task. I had hoped to find them all but we didn't leave home until lunch time and various things held up the progress getting from one cache to another, still I have made more than a start.

This took longer to navigate my way to GZ, than to solve the puzzle. But a great cache as a reward. TFTC BlacknWhite.
After doing some shiftwork and having the coords stashed away for some time it was finally time to come and seek out this cache!
Parked at the top of the street and walked my way to GZ.
Had a short little bush bash before reaching the coords which were thankfully very accurate for me today and led me straight to the cache.
Thanks BlacknWhite again, really loving your caches

Well what better way to spend my birthday than being out and about with my besty, Happy Uke. And so off we went to the Wollongong region to bring some no-good dirty caches to justice.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Finalf29 and I made a trip down to the gong to celebrate his B'day, distribute Chrissy presents to family, see my sister's new house and... cache of course. We had a great day, but with all our commitments and such high humidity, we were very lucky to find nine.
This was our fifth for the day. I had solved this a while ago. Found a trail in and soon had the cache. Great spot, but the mozzies were AWFUL! They followed us back to the car, so didn't linger. Thanks

I took the long way round and avoided all of those horrible prickly stick things

Found the right route in to this cache (well, after investigating the wrong way first), so it was not difficult to get to GZ. Then the cache was spotted quickly, name was added to the log and all was replaced as found. Thank you to BlacknWhite for another easy to solve puzzle and the cache as well.
Puzzle directed my partner deep into "farmers friends" prickles.
After 5-10 minutes of watching her tip toe through razor like prickles, I decided to yell out "yeah, let's call this one in come back with more appropriate clothing". - she darted a quick glance toward me to suggest "oh great! ... now you say that" as she begun to backtrack the "path" and pick out the prickles.
Hopefully we went the right direction...
Thanks anyway,
We'll be back.

For a change, a puzzle I could solve with not too much hard work. I like these sorts of puzzles. We drove to an area close by to GZ and then came for a short walk down to the cache.
The log was signed, and then it was back up the hill again. Thanks very much,
Domsky

This puzzle has sat solved for nearly 2 yrs just waiting for an opportunity to find it. This morning I had to be at Warilla for an early meeting so left 15 mins earlier to detour to find this one. Never been up here before - great views! Followed the GPS until 30+mts to go then looked at the terrain & the way I was dressed & thought there must be a better way. And there was ! Love a puzzle that doesn't give you a headache ! SL TFTC BlacknWhite !
Plans were set in place with fitzy_1965 for a weekend caching mission around the Illawarra region We had a great time nabbing a whole bunch of caches with the only disappointment being the high number of DNF's due to missing containers
Had this presolved for the trip-had the answer at my fingertips in a jiffy! And it was another quick and easy find for us up here!
Thanks for the puzzle & hide, BlacknWhite

A weekend away was hatched with Rapidlywild to head down to the Wollongong area to collect a few smileys. After getting an early mark from work we packed the car and headed down the highway and through the meandering hills to the coastline, collecting a few caches along the way. We did the obligatory stop at the Robertson Pie Shop for dinner, arriving just before closing time. After a late night exploring around the town we hit the hotel for a few hours of shut eye before heading out for a big day collecting the SES series and others we had solved when preparing for this weekend.
Thanks to the cache owners for the cache placements and bringing us to the Wollongong area. The variety of puzzles on offer was enjoyable, some of the puzzles we have seen something similar before and some were quite challenging. Thanks for the challenge.

Plans were in place for sometime to attack the SES Puzzles with FurfacesLL and the Queens Birthday weekend was decided on for collecting them. We started working our way thorough the puzzles together, some were easier than others, and eventually we had them all solved. We took off after work friday and was home Sunday night.
We had a very muddy weekend but enjoyable all the least. Thanks to the CO's for the placements.
Solve: No issues solving this one, its been on the solved list for quite sometime now
Thanks for the puzzle and the placement BlacknWhite
