This one is having a rest for a while, let mother nature recover for a while.
Thankyou to all who had a go and liked this cache.

Found by Mary & David at 1250. Loved this one with the trees and the water. The locals have great facilities on hand. We're not Simpsons fans, so many of the references are lost on us. TNLN. Our thanks yet again to homerjay73.

Found 11.45am
Ended up walking a bit further than we needed to on this one, all the way cursing as to why the cache was a micro !!! however, once a GZ it all became clear. A great hide although the camo is looking a bit obvious now.

Found as part of our Mernda/Doreen day trip. Nice camo, although it could probably do with some repair. Thanks for the cache

Cammo starting to wear a little - thought I'd found a gold nugget.
Many thanks.

09-Aug-08
It's interesting to see all the development that is taking place here: another 'burb starts to appear. As a consequence it's a bit of a roundabout route to make this a near drive-by as the easiest access point has now been blocked off. The camo is a little bit the worse for wear which made this a slightly easier find than it might have been. Thanks for the cache, homerjay73.

Found 10.20am pon 12/7/08.
A little muddy but nothing we couldn't handle!
Found cache straight away and we were off!
Thanks HJ!

Number 7 of 25 finds in our "Epping and beyond" day out. Found at 10.45am. A creative hide, but will need a new coat of paint soon, homerjay! Many thanks once again.

05-Jul-08
Geoson organised a caching expedition for us today. This was number 1 of 10 caches we found.

Interesting new housing development. Nice camo. TNLN thanks homerjay73.

Had to hoof it in a short distance to this one but no matter. Once at gz the cache was quickly found. The covering is wearing but hanging in there. Nice spot too thanks homerjay73.

Nice lake, nice camo (if properly covered). Is now. TFTC.

Thought I'd knock this one over on a Sunday arvo, so off I set with the midgets and geodog. It was a nice easy find and the hide is showing signs of disrepair.

Found 200803211804 Smile. Everytiime I travel through this area there is more and more development. With not much happening on a Good Friday evening the cache was found easily Smile

Cheers Homerjay

P.S. I suppose I'd see a school bus were I here on a weekday

The GPS got us close enough to notice the difference and find the hide.

Found by Bob at 1230

A nice quick one - but a nice hide nonetheless Smile. There are a surprising number of these little pockets of suburbia springing up around here.

Thanks again Homerjay73

This is another homerjay73 cache. One of 30 caches found today in company with Muzza and Kiwideb on another great day out. The weather was perfect, the company excellent, the caching fantastic; although I am still trying to work out the connection between the names and these caches[?]. Thanks for the cacheCool

Another well hidden cache. Thanks for all your caches today and all the work you have put into them. They have been amazing. On a caching day with Muzza and Barcoder the second last cache of 30 today. My thanks to homerjay73 for the cache.

21-Feb-08
First thing I put my hand on: the cache. Quite a contrast to GC19E6D "DUFF MAN!!" that I spent so long looking for yesterday and didn't find; I don't think like homerjay73 it seems.

Thanks for the clever camouflage!

17-Feb-08
Nice hide - if we didn't see the mound of rocks around it, I doubt we would have looked here.

This was cache # 6 of 20 today. I took the shortest approach and was lucky enough to have the cache in my hands almost immediately. My thanks to homerjay73 for the well concealed cache.

Find #8 of 8 on a northern excursion with pinguone.

This nicely hidden cache was retrieved at 17:30.

Thanks homerjay73.

Found with ssmc4 on our way back home after completing a small Homerjay circuit of the area.
Thanks for the afternoon's entertainment Homerjay.

Another find for The Rebel Alliance. L.L.T.R.A
Thanks homerjay 73 for the cache.

Cache # 16 of 29 in company with acts2youthgroup in our 'clean up the northern suburbs' day. We found this one at 1330. A nice piece of work. The label on the cache indicated that the cache was intended to be called 'Whistler's Rock', which would have been a better name than a random Simpsons character. I made no exchange. Thanks to homerjay73 for the cache, Cheers, dak.

01-Feb-08
This was cache # 13 of 24 for the day in the company of dak's Emu mob on our northern suburbs Assault, the cache was found at 1330. Looks like a lot of work going on in the area we had no trouble finding this unusual cache. My thanks to homerjay73 for the cache.

On the way to Alexandra for some maintenance at the parents place, Uncle Jiffy and I stopped past here.
We were both a little perturbed at the readings near GZ. He went one way while I stayed still, not seeing anything at all likely near my predicted GZ. After a while Uncle Jiffy followed his GPS back to where I was and suggested a location to check.
I didn't expect much success as I thought what I saw wasn't a likely place, but upon checking the cache was revealed.
Quite cunning and very well done.
It was almost, but not entirely perfect. Luckliy we stayed away from the most obvious decoy location not too far away.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks homeyjay73. There has been some great cache work here and you are to be congratulated. So much better than a small sistema chucked in the bushes.

Another interesting cache idea. Fortunately we had done another cache made from similar material last week, and so when I thought lightening could not strike twice, it did!!!
Logged at 1545 hrs. TNLN. This was the last cache in our nostalgic tour of Mernda. My how it has changed up here in 15 years. Thanks for the cache homerjay73.

With C@W on a mission and some geocaching. A short walk to GZ and while standing waiting for the GPSr to make up its mind and settle down about where it was I spyed an item that warranted investigation, haha bingo. Well done on a very nice hide. Well constructed and implemented. Thanks.

Hello all! Thanks for all the good feedback re my hide techniques. I only have one request. PUT THEM BACK AS YOU FIND THEM!!!! I have been for a visit to all my caches and found that some people have not! I put some time and effort into my caches so please help me out and re-stash

Found at 1400. Once again I arrived at GZ not entirely sure what to expect, based on Homer's previous caches, but after a short the cache showed itself. Once again, clever application of the camo. Nice work.

I was so proud of how close I had parked but then realised I had a fence to contend with. Very good coordinates placed me right on top of the cache with a came job I have seen used before, although this was one of the better ones.

Thanks, the new estate will look good in a few years.

Nice area to put a cache, interesting camo job. We did feel a bit bad walking so close to a revegetation area.
TFTC, have been falling in the shadow of Biggles Bear this morning.

20-Jan-08
Found 10:05, after spending some time giving the near by red herring a thorough going over Wink

TNLN, CSI=3, thanks homerjay73.

18-Jan-08
Didn't take too long to spot the devious hide thankfully. We didn't jump any fences at first but after forgetting to bring the pen to GZ I jumped it there and back on the way to and from the car. Quicker than walking around!
This area should look really good eventually but now still looks like fresh earth works in the main. Good spot for a cache though so thanks for that.

18-Jan-08
There are certainly moving a bit of dirt and water around here. Most of the roads don't appear on my maps.
This one did, and a short walk (around the fence, had us at GZ. A neat hide.
Thanks, Robmc.

9.15am
Found by Roma and Max.
Having read previous finders logs we approached this hide with anticipation and some apprehension, realizing we were going to be looking for some very clever camouflage.
We were not disappointed, this method was unusual and very professionally executed.
However good numbers and a faint geo trail did assist us in our search.
We TNLN & SL. TFTC homerjay73, we are sure you will continue to challenge us with your obvious hiding talents.
Romax.

Finally found another one of Homers fantastic camo jobs!!

I had almost given up and my partner for the day Adam had already retreated to the car.

Well done HomerJ

Found at 4.55pm GAFF1. Last cache for the day and by now we had worked out homerjay73's tricks and consequently this well camoe'd cache was found straight away. Thanks for todays fun homerjay73.

13-Jan-08
Found at 1:10pm after a short search. Nice camo. Should be a nice area when there has been time for the plants to grow etc.
TNLN
thanks homerjay73

We came here after doing a nearby cache where we had seen the woodlands and now we've seen the waters. It all makes sense now. Looks like another great estate coming together with plenty of parks for the residents. The gpsr led us directly to the cache for a nice easy and enjoyable find. Seems like disco stu may have had a change of name since the cache was first thought out
Thanks homerjay73

12-Jan-08
Nice cache. Close to home.

12-Jan-08
We've been in the vicinity recently more often hunting down caches than visiting Liz' cousins who have been farming the valley a lot longer than most of the houses that have been pushing them out. Found this one around 6:45pm and the wetlands look a tad stressed. Appreciated the cover provided for the container but hope that the landscapers don't get confused. TNLN Thanx HJ73

07-Jan-08
I had read some good things about the caches homerjay was putting out and this little hide got things off to a good start. After Oenze and I made the find we gazed across at the lakeside developments and wondered how they will keep water in these lakes once the locals move in. Nice and quiet at the moment here though. TFTC.

Find # 2142 and 3rd of the day at 11:40am. Accompanied by Feathertop on another day out caching. Easy find loved the camo job, TNLN, Signed Log, Thanx Homerjay73....Big Grin

Just arrived home from our morning caching and there was an email for a FTF, Left Luck Dog in the cool house and headed out for a FTF hunt. A pretty quick find, Although the log book said Whistlers Rock not Disco Stu. But the coordinates were spot on so I Hope it was just a mistake, Otherwise I have been FTF Whisters Rock,Mmm, Mind you I am sure its too close for the Ump to publish it at its current position.

Anyway its a great cache and a nice spot, Great container.

It was also our 600Th GC and GCA find.

Thanks

Luck Dogs Crew

Pickupfamily Dad and kids Pickup Dragon and Pickup Tiger found at 1340hrs, missed the FTF but just over half an hour it seems. We also found Whistlers Rock but it seems to match half the hint at least, we don't get the relevance of the second half. A relatively easy find with the co-ords spot on. Thanks homerjay73.
