Here on holidays from Australia, we found it but unfortunately we had no pen to sign. Thanks guys
100th find! Really nice view to look at after finding cache. As said before cache needs new log. TFTC!
#15,081. Parked for a short walk from Ridge Road in Tairua. Great view from the Gazebo Lookout. Fortunately, the GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.Favorite point added for the attractive location and well-hidden cache.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*---### LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!! ###On **May 3rd, 2025**, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in **Rotorua, New Zealand** with a special **Block Party** event. Well, such a nice point you rarely can find without the help of a carefully placed geocache. This is worth a favouritepoint. - T4TC!
This is a very subtly hidden spot and it is unusual for a public lookout to be in the form of a gazebo so it looks at a glance to be part of someone's back yard and had it not been for this cache we would never have found it. We noted that it is often a very high muggle location but were pleased to find we had timed our visit perfectly and had it all to ourselves. The cache was quickly grabbed and signed in case any muggles should turn up and then we took some time to take in the spectacular view. And what a perfect day to do so, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the whole area looked amazing. As we left we realised we had been watched by a friendly dog from the neighbouring property so we said hi and swore it to secrecy about that mysterious container we found. Thanks G-2 for bringing us to this hidden view of paradise.
Found within my famous trip around New Zealand. Thanks for nice cache ....................................................................... TB Koumesovo geopivo DDEV7M
Visiting from the UK. Staying just down the road for 2 nights. Walked up here before breakfast. Took a while to find the cache but eventually put my hand on it. Log is quite full so signed on a faded section. Used initials HE to save space. TFTC
TFTC beautiful view, lovely day. Dog enjoyed the provided dog water nearby. Very little room on log, probably needs a replacement soon. Dated only for space with a green pen.
Going to give a fav point despite not finding the cache after some de weeding. Thanks for bringing us to this great spot!
Accio 12:49:27A much anticipated holiday with T4mmmy all around the North Island of New Zealand - staying for a bit in nearby Pauanui, today we drove all the way around here to Tairua and had a lovely breakfast and a bit of a tour around. Including here. Quick find.what stunning views, such a lovely spot. Thanks G-2 for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #11665}*
What an epic little spot. Thank you for pointing me here. Wonderful views. Cache all good.
Not far from home so fun to visit. Enjoyed the views over the harbour. Easy find. TFTC
Found with stairman1. Our first day in New Zealand and our first cache. We are staying at the bottom of the hill so we decided to walk up here. Lucky for us the weather is cooler than home. It’s been 40 degrees.
We arrived at the seats and had a rest then headed down the stairs. Stairman1 found the cache easily. The container is very sad and in need of some TLC. Our names in log we enjoyed the views.TFTC Gave fav point.

Found with goldielover today. Our first in NZ this trip. What a great way to start. Walked up here from our bnb. It is a magical view from here and well worthy of another favourite point.
Cache took a little to find but all is well here.

Staying at sun lovers retreat so just a short walk for us. Needed a fingertip search. Logbook wet. TFTC
Just driving through on our way down but so happy we stopped in for this. Didn’t fill in the log as it’s looking a bit yucky. Incredible view and great hide. Thanks
I never realized the size of the habour here. Thanks for bring us up here. Found with Reny90
TaurusSix and I are in New Zealand for a three weeks holiday. We love New Zealand and have had lots of wonderful experiences here previously. This time we have decided to focus our attention on three destinations for one week each, all in the North Island. The Coromandel Peninsula, Waiheke Island and The Bay of Isles. We are very mindful of not focusing all our attention of the holiday on geocaching, however it will still play an important part. We are deliberately focusing on caches that involve some walking, great views, interesting attractions , history and general points of interest. And this will all happen in between exploring, swimming , walking, doing touristy things and relaxing .

Day 7 - wow day seven already just two more days here on the Coromandel Peninsula before moving on to our next destination. Today we decided to head to the Hot Beach to try a thermal spa on the beach. We knew high tide was around midday so got there about an hour early as advised. Well what a truly interesting and intriguing place . A beautiful long beach and people huddled in an approx twenty by twenty metre square digging away to strike hot water . It was really fascinating and we were lucky that when we started digging the family next to us said we are about to leave so have ours and it was the perfectly dug spa with beautiful hot water - thank you. We relaxed in the spa for a while then decided a nice long beach walk was the order of the day before collecting a nearby cache. On the way back we geocached as often as the traffic would permit and finished the day with a walk to the local waterfall in Pauanui which was spectacular. We collected 10 traditional geocaches for the day and had wonderful experiences.

This is our fourth cache find of the day on our way back from hot beach. We absolutely loved this location, what an amazing place and the type of place you would never know about if it was not for geocaching. It gets a favourite from us for the view and the quirkiness . Thanks for the cache G-2

Driving south decided to stop off in this town to grab a cache! What a great one to stop for. Beautiful location - had 2 friendly dog greeters! Thanks for bringing us here.
We're staying in Tairua for a few days break and today we traveled over to Pauanui to ride the cycleway and pick up caches. We picked this one up on the way back after a great day of caching and biking - a perfect finale walking up all of these stairs to earn the cache! Great spot, TFTC
Easy find after lots of steep steps. Dried the logout in the sun before signing. TFTC
Saw the gazebo at sunrise on TV and thought - we've got to go there! So delighted to find a cache at one of the most beautiful spots on the Peninsula.
Caching with team SEAC today. WE signed all logs as SEAC to save time and paper. Amazing views here and well worth the drive up the hill. Would love a house with a view like this!!. FAv for bringing me here. TFTC!
B4Dawn posted in our group chat of a trip down this way, a beautiful part of the country, to locate some of the local caches....some of us had found some but the majority were unfound by the group....
Thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches, with the majority in good condition and dry...
Off the bikes after a little break and refueling at the nearby shopping centre....transferred to the cars for the rest of the day......caching....
Signed in as "SEAC" to save logbook space.
TFTC.

I had made a call out to team SEAC to see if anyone wanted to wonder to Pauanui for day outing to grab some caches. Ended up with a swamp of us wanted to go! So on the day itself, we packed up the bikes, picnic food and embarked on this great journey! All logs were signed as "SEAC" to save space.
Always wondered what this was whenever I pass Tairua. So now I know! Approach GZ but didn't find it straight away. Thanks goodness for NurseDr as she did. TFTC

Took the easier option as we’d done a fair bit of walking today already and rain was threatening. Found the well hidden cache fairly quickly. Admitted the views and continued on our way. Signed as WW.
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.
Greetings from Dunedin!
Thanks for the cache, G_2

Wow, worth coming here for the view that’s for sure, though the view was very grey and moody today with low cloud and impending rain.
Nice quick find with PhilBirdBoys as we leave our Bookabach holiday home after a great few days. TFTC.
Wow what a view! Gazebo guarded by a friendly dog who lead us straight to the cache. Nice and easy once we were there. SL TFTC

On our way home after a Wedding Anniversary Road Trip. Did this one the hard way by walking up past the old cemetary, from the Tairua Bakery after buying lunch and an ice cream. By the time we got to GZ, the GPS batteries had gone flat. Luckily a search in the most likely spot, came up with the nicely camo'ed cache. Found a different route down as Mrs Jacksonz had spotted a Gazebo walkway sign on the main road. By the time we got back, we were so hot we needed another ice cream. Thanks for the adventure.
Traffic is very heavy so bridge is being manually controlled by lollipop men. We are heading south so parked up just past the bridge and walked up the steps and up the drive ways to finally find this gazebo and majestic views. Took some time to track down this elusive one. Finally tagged. /Cheers
Day 10 - Sunday 27 December - Tairua - up to Whenuakite and back and Pauanui power trail today. What will we find today?.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

Parked the car at the bottom of the hill across road (wwe are heading south). Cars north are traffic jammed for a kilometre or or, trying to cross the one lane bridge, so we only had the lane of south bound cars to watch for. Then up the steps. An odd place for a gazebo, but I like it, this gets a favourite. Took the dragon and I a little while to find, it was well hidden.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Great view.
Jude_E, NosyNel, Thedbees, GraciesGPSFun, Lis’s Crew and I are on the ‘Mega that wasn’t’ trip in Auckland the weekend. We’re collecting the ‘Tour’ caches, plus others, plus seeing the scenery, plus having a good old time -as usual . TFTC.

We drove here. Too hot to walk up even at 10am. Neat hide with a helpful hint. Fabulous view. Thanks G-2.
I have DNF'd this cache before so I was keen to come back today enjoy the spectacular view (it was night time last time I looked) and get my revenge. I had PAF after my last visit but it still took some searching even though the hint is very good. Not sure what I was more happy with my amazing panorama photo I took here or the find. Probably the find. Thanks G-2.
The climb was worth the reward! I was looking for a different type of attachment, very clever! TFTC
Lovely view from the gazebo. Didn’t find the cache though. The hint was pretty specific and widening the search didn’t seem to help.
used a bit of petrol on this one lol. because we were sore from long walk the day before. tried to drive to it....got the wrong walkway and ended up at cemetery. drove back up and found correct start...but Zombieland616 forgot pen. drive back up again. TFTC.
We also couldn't find the cache so we suspect it has gone. Thanks for bringing us up here.
Not the best day for caching. The view here is amazing. Great location. Knew I was in the right spot as someone had left their pen behind. Lol. Little bit of hunt till the doh moment. Tftc
Today's adventure would be to explore parts of Tairua on a beautiful sunny day.
First off it was a visit to a lookout. What a great place this is.
Cheers for the cache.

Find number 3908. I have been here before but the weather was not good so spent little time looking. Back today on a beautiful weather. The neighbour was enjoying a coffee on her deck. I crept around and quickly had my hands on the cache. Signed and returned it. Then it was to enjoy the sights and back to the car. Thank you for the placement.
It's raining and low cloud so not an ideal day to admire the view but need to find this cache for points on the space challenge. Slippery under foot too. Great camo thank you for placing this cache here. Will come back on a fine day.
Picking up the outstanding caches in Pauanui and across the bay. The climb up the stairs is worth it for the view. Luckily it was quiet here today so I could scramble round to pick this one up.
Thanks for placing and greetings from the .

I grew up spending my summers at Pauanui and trying to sneak over to the Tairua Pub via the ferry!. Magical view full of memories TFTC
I did it the hard way.... All the steps and also the steep road, uphill and down Hill.
At GZ had to search for a while, but afterall I found the little "box" . Good, clever way of hiding !

Team BOP have reunited and our two day journey up to the top of the Coromandel is well underway. This cache had given me a little grief in the past but today I have reinforcements and I see it's had maintenance since I was last here. Today I am quietly confident and still a little pleased not to have to climb all those steps. TNXPro made a quick find here then after a sneaky selfie we were back on the road. Cheers G-2, TFTC.
