wellthat was quite a roadafter a long day in the hiking boots, we did not have the energy or the soles for another long walkso instead, we threw caution to the wind and tried to drive intesting in the very limits of where our little hatchback could take usluckilywe lucked outfound a decent-ish road that got us decent-ishly closeonly a few mushy bits of tracksome minor bits of wheel spinand one deceptively deep puddle that our suspension and lower backs will remember for a whilethis probably hits the limit of what we should do in our little hatchback that couldsothanks for the adventurewe lived our rally driver dreams todaywe are looking forward to some asphalt

Found while out getting the geo-subi muddy. TFTC.

I'd never heard of GeoDashing. Thanks for adding the link. This wee, now dry creek, obviously had a lot of water to cope with during last year's floods - there's hightide lines with leaf & branch litter in great swathes. I love ammo boxes & this cache is in perfect condition. Many thanks

What a drive, what a walk too. Cache safe well and all good. Thanks for the find.

Nice big cache in perfect condition after a nice little walk in the bush, lovely

15-Aug-21
Went for a ride on my ebike to this one as didn't want to take my car through the bush. Have been meaning to get for years but have just never got around to it. Ran out of excuses today and was glad I went out to find. Great to see a cache that has been around for many years in such good condition. I went back in time for a while enjoying reading all the previous logs and remembering a few of the names from back in the day!!! Thanks for the cache and the memory jog!

Hounds and I are thoroughly enjoying exploring a new area of the Whipstick. Thank you!

26-Jan-21
An enjoyable walk with catherinec19 on our ironbark caching trip has led us here. Definitely not the sort of road that we should be driving on considering we have a little Lancer but it was a wild ride nonetheless. TFTC we always love these containers they’re so classic and durable we are definitely gonna take inspo from this one

**Find #3398**

Out enjoying some caching in Bendigo today, And really enjoyed this cache. Love an ammo can in the bush. Giving this cache it's 2nd Favourite Point in 13 Years.

As this cache is outside the current Covid-19 #stayathome area around Melbourne, it's now back on the map.

06-Aug-20
Melbourne is currently in Level 4 lockdown
The rest of Victoria is Stage 3 -Stay At Home
If you found this cache within walking distance of your home, go ahead and log it.
This is within the bounds of legitimate exercise.
If you found this cache by driving to it, you're interpreting the rules to your own benefit, and not the community's. You should not be travelling to exercise, and interpreting caching as exercise is a long stretch anyway (pun intended).
The cache will be Enabled when the Stay At Home requirement is lifted.

24-May-20
Took a walk in from the road this track came off and we were so glad!!!
Once a GZ we couldn’t see the cache... we had an expectation it was off the ground.
Any rate found nicely on the ground, in good condition.

11-May-20
Re-enabled as Covid-19 restrictions are eased off.

28-Mar-20
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis.
Although exercise is ok, beaches, parks etc are gradually being closed, and we are being asked to stay home.
The possibility to transmit the virus by surface contact exists, so why take chances?
At the end of the day, geocaching is a game, and we are dealing with a serious Public Health issue.
We need to get our priorities in order.
I believe the responsible thing is to disable all my caches, until the crisis passes.
Thanks.

07-Feb-20
Really enjoyed this bash through the bush..... Track here is pretty narrow and my mirrors kept whacking the branches. Note to future cachers, if you;re having trouble doing a U-Turn there is an ideal location further along the road.

TFTC, loved the walk.

Friday 13th unlucky for some. [:o]
Not for me. I got to spend the day chasing caches with Cybergran V. [^]

We had no trouble accessing the cache on good wide, dry roads with a leisurely wander to GZ. Smile
The cache was in even better condition and the log book was signed and returned however.... [:o]

The gunshots being fired in the distance had me a little concerned but nowhere near as much as the other thing I discovered through attempting this cache. I have found something that has me worried. Worried for my welfare, my families welfare, for those who love me and enjoy my company.
They dont want to lose me.
They dont want me to dissapear never to be heard from again but it may be all too late because....... [xx(]

This Geodashing thing looks interesting. Cool

Thanks for placing and maintaining it to give dalerious the pleasure of finding it today.

12-Jan-19
After camping at Notley Campground overnight we made our way to Dashpoint first thing in the morning making our way through the narrow track. To say the dirt track doesn't look anything like your photo now, would be an understatement. The Landcruiser made its way through the dense vegetation adding some nice pinstripe decorations along the duco [;p] With nowhere to pullover anymore we just parked her on the track and hoped that the trail bike didn't come our way. The walk into GZ was fun as we weaved in and out of copious spider webs searching out the ammo can, which we found sitting on the ground covered with sticks and in good condition.
Thanks gmj3191 for the adventure here today, we had never heard of Geodashing before.

Found a big huntsman.....made the cache trickier than it should be! Lovely spot!

19-May-18
The ‘road’ was an interesting experience to GZ today, but the geoCruiser managed mostly with ease. Sad to say that the tree that the container was originally housed in has fallen over, so it is a much easier find at ground level now. SL at 2.30pm Left: Lucas’s Dino TB Will have to read up about Dashpoints at some stage. #5313 TFTC gmj3191 - now to get ourselves out of here again!

Our yearly tradition continues! Ever since my caching buddy CJ-Curry moved to New Zealand, we meet up once a year in Aus around Christmas time and blitz a whole bunch of caches. Easily found, not so easily retrieved for someone with a back injury. CJ fixed it for me. Some pretty rad swag in this one! TFTC

31-Dec-17
In what's fast become a tradition for SanguineDragonflye and I, we decided to go on a hunt around the Bendigo National Park area today. Sanguine found this one easily enough, but the task was left to me to extract the cache from its spot. Good to see ammo cans used as caches, there most certainly aren't enough out there. Cheers!

Thanks for the cache.
Lovely spring day, day out with the family geocaching!

Find No. 1849. Found at 1.29pm.

Went for a drive in the geoute over to Myers Flat area to grab a few caches. Took geodog Penny with us and FUF009 came along for the day as well.

Due to road conditions which we didn't like to chance driving over, we parked the ute and off we walked some 350m away. Didn't really bother us as it gave Penny another walk through the bush which she loves doing.

Found the cache out in the open and covered it up before we left. Now it's back to the ute for a cuppa and some lunch before moving onto the next one.

Found on a lovely morning caching this morning. Although the tracks were quite churned up by 4WDs and I was lucky to make it out without getting bogged!! Bit of excitement anyway Smile Thank you for the cache gmj3191 Smile

30-Jan-16
Decided walking from Skylark Tk was the safest option until I headed bush through a magnificent stand of white ironbark. No problem in finding the cache either. I need to look up this days point thing as it was a careful pick my way over the bush litter on the ground. A fav point for this one. TFTC gmj3191

28-Jan-16
I started to drive up the side track in my small 2WD Getz, but quickly decided to park and walk the remaining 400 or so metres. That was a good decision since recent heavy rain had left its mark on the well-worn road ahead. While my car would have struggled, the journey by foot was easy and the cache was quickly spotted. As others have noted, the container was on the ground (no longer supported). Thanks gmj3191 for hiding such a large container here with a nice, large log-book to match, and thanks for providing me with the opportunity to walk through this lovely area and breath in the fresh, bush air!

30-Dec-15
Found with youngnils after negotiating the track. The track was a little rough in patches. Thanks

Nice drive with BillGosse through the typical local bushland and an easy find after a short bush walk. Cache no longer supported but now on the ground. Thanks gmj3191.

Find # 1884 @ 1249 H

Being on holidays what a better way to spent a day than planning a caching day and to head north of Bendigo.
This ended up being a day of 42 finds, way over what I expected and almost 400ks travelled (a lot of back tracking and some getting lost in the bush, But the GPSr did say there was a road there!)

Once again my poor 2WD ute was expected to take on almost a 4WD road. I think the winter has had its way with this road in parts. but taking it easy I soon was close enough to leg it to GZ.

not reading the cache page before attempting this one I was surprised at the position of the cache. but taking the time to check the page I found it all good.

Suscoe's 33rd find of 36 for today as we headed out to the North West and North in the great company of our mate Bushfire.
This was to be a full day of wandering about clearing up many caches together.
We had a great time and enjoyed the terrific country side that we passed through.

A nice walk to Gz and there was the cache sitting quietly on the ground.
We were not sure where it should be so we left as found.
Thanks to gmj3191 for this cache, a really nice walk in the bush.

11-Aug-14
Woke up this morning to a very white, cold bleak outlook but I am sure it will improve later.
In Bendigo for a few days to add some smileys on as many mysteries, multi's and a few traditionals. Plus a few cache needed for my A to Z challenge.

The suscoe cachers and the ageing Bushfire have the full range of caching gear with the exception of the kayaks and the wheels to get us to most locations, carrying all the technical gear you could think of.

I love the type of bush in this area and the ability to see some distance through it. Also is your lucky you may find some orchids starting to bloom. Thanks for showing us this area as I don't get up this very often.

Thanks gmj3191 for placing the cache.

Found while our four-wheel-driving in the Whipstick with Aveen, TheQuantumQuark and Geokid. I am not sure why this is rated as Terrain 4stars, it was almost wheel chair accessible today. Was it supposed to be harder?
I like a challenge but geokid didnt mind making the easy find today and it was a great drive just navigating out here. Thanks for the fun

micheena - on our last dash before the New Year, but gps had us going on roads that haven't been used for quite a while. Sorry to the spiders, but we couldn,t turn around and had to bulldoze through. We nearly aborted when the gps had us going down, well I wouldn,t call it a track, but more a water made channel. As most dedicated cachers we soldiered on and final had the cache in hand. Great hide, it took me a bit to see it.

Second find for the day. Quite a bit of navigation in the 'rather wet' conditions, but my geodogs and geoniece enjoyed the adventure along the water with the many, many, many march flies acompanying us. Took bee and left car and finger puppet. TFTC Smile

19-Feb-11
I enjoyed the drive through the forest to get to GZ Smile
After the recent flooding rains and last nights downpour the area is a bit soggy at the moment Smile
The nice smooth track in the photo has some largish ruts in it now, especially near GZ.
A short stroll got me to GZ and on my first look I walked straight past the cache Red Face
When I turned around it was visible from 30 metes away !!
The cache is in excellent condition thanks to the container [^]
Good job you hid it above ground level, this area has had up to a foot of floodwaters washing across it Big Grin

Found with my mate Blacklegend17 (Marshy) during our 2 day Bendigo cache blitz. Back into night caching mode on this very cold night. We both nearly walked into the spider web of the fattest dam bush spider i've ever seen. Wouldn't want this one on your face. Found the 'well hidden' cache no problems.

07-May-10
35th cache on the second day of our caching run to Bendigo with my good mate Marty (Quasar3671). 66th for the trip so far. Into night caching mode for the second night in a row, so the torches were in use. The image of this spot looks tranquil in the day, try doing it at night. Very eerie. Not to mention the giant spider we almost walked into hanging at head height. Located pretty quickly after a short walk. Thanks for bringing us to this spot.

It make me so SMILE when I see it. I have been search for while - make me a fool hee.... No swap. SL. Thanks gmj3191 for organising the cache and hunt.

With the recent rain (and rain today), I thought it would be a great experience for my "L" plate daughter to drive the 4 wd to this cache....We loved it, the roads weren't as flooded as we expected but the Beautiful Angel coped with them well. Thanks for "hiding"..or should I say placing, this cache in such an isolated area. The Beautiful Angel found this one, whilst my eyes were on ground level. TFTC.

28-Feb-10
We had no idea what a dash point was so had to look it up We headed off to gz for what would have to be the easiest Bendigo cache that we have ever found, also the easiest terrain 4 that we have ever done. We agree that this is very unlikely to be muggled
Thanks gmj3191 for the cache

Had a few hours of daylight to kill after work, so went for a drive out the Whipstick. 4th of 4 for the arvo. Located this one 6.30pm. Took other half along and let her do all the work to which she did quite well. Was an easy find. Enjoyed trapesing around the Whipstick. Took nothing, left a soldier. Signed the log. Interesting to note that a prospecter/gold detector dude has happened across it and signed the log too. Good stuff!! TFTC.

Found this in a round a bout sort of way. We always seem to go about things the hard way. While half of us walked nearly 2 kms to it, the smart ones of us drove to within 100m and the youngest of all, CCno.3 found it after the others had ran right passed it without seeing it. An interesting way to hide a cache, I must say. Took the Crazy Cow TB and a screwdriver and left something, can't remember what. TFTC and the wander in the bush.

We found the spot where the car was parked quite easily, but had some trouble finding the cache and eventually ran out of light. We returned today and it was a quick find. A muggle cross country runner found the cache yesterday and signed the log book, and all looks OK. We took the ladybird and left a key ring.
