With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... After five months of grief, it's time for another serious attack on our current caching license. We're heading east to target seven high difficulty caches, and anything else that catches our attention...
No luck with this one.

All the way from Norway, walking up here, and we just couldn't find it. Aaaargh!! But at least we had a beautiful view, so it was worth it all the same
Cache was lying on ground out in the open. Retrieved, signed and placed back according to clue.
A little tour around Gisborne took us to Kaiti and Wainui today. Back in town we strolled to the museum at the Tuharenu. Thanks for all the caches on the way.
Before leaving Gisborne and drive towards our next destination, we visit this cache.
Really nice location with nice views over the bay.
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Portugal.
#9942, Found it with DroidCachebox!
We visited this cache during our trip through out New Zealand!
With our rental car, we explored the north island for 12 days.
NZ is a beautiful country and we really enjoyed our time here.
We hope to return one day and explore a little bit more!
Day 5 - Gisborne to Rotorua
The day started in Gisborne, where we explored a little bit of the city and looked for some caches. After that we visited many places along the route to Rotorua, mainly along road trough the Waioeka gorge and in the coast.
Thanks for the cache.

We just had to laugh at the inscription on the Captain Cook statue. What was the sculptor thinking about..............everybody knows what captain cook looked like. Please see attached photo. TFTC
Setting off from Gisborne Gary at the motel suggested we came up here, tried the multi having found all the answers but not time to work out the complicated maths, so abandoned that and came here. Another amazing view. Soon found it, signed and returned. Took photos of the view and set off up SH35. TFTC
Under the watchful eye of Captain Cook while in league with The Anti Cosmic Overload, we searched and soon had the cache in hand. It was somewhat disappointing however to find out that Captain Cook had actually had a French makeover...
Just bought along my new Travel Bug (Captain Davy Jones) to visit Captain Cook
Thanks for bringing us up here, it took a bit of searching around to find the right spot. What a beautiful view at sunset, pink skies and panoramic visuals. Nice hide!! TFTC
Very windy, but worth it for the views.
Biggest challenge was getting the plastic bag out of the container!
Should have had tweezers with us. Tried not to push so far in again.
Thanks

Logged together with Pink Raccoon during our NZ trip. Continuing our journey along SH2 today but had time to drive up the hill for some pics. Discovered we were on the location Cook landed on the same date he landed, only 246 years later... Nice spot for a cache!
TFTC!

I went right past this cache on my first trip up the hill to get CANZ: Gisborne. (See my log at that page for an amusing, but long, story.) I got this one, too, when I returned the next morning. TFTC.
The road was busy today with challenge accepters, but we had the spot to ourselves and soon found the cache. Left the Cap'n with a telescope. We are amazed at the quantity of wood below, from our hotel we've seen a ship being loaded all day and all night.
A beautiful day in Gisborne a place I've never been here before but am in town for work, I was just here for one night and head home today - so pleased to be able to log a find in this part of the country.
It was a glorious day here today, and after a late lunch the team from work decided to head up here to kill a bit of time before we needed to be at the airport. I saw this as my only real chance to find a cache in the region, so jumped at the opportunity.
This was a pretty easy find, I've never cached with my phone before but didn't have caches for the area on my gps. I found the cache in the second place I looked. It was exposed and in the open, so I've tucked it away a bit better, but at the same GZ - I didn't move my feet from where they were planted. Too small to leave any TBs, but great to knock a cache over in this part of the world.

Couldn't spot the cache, nur visited the spot Amazing view. There were ships loading what looked like a whole wood.
On holiday from Tasmania Australia. Loving NZ - feels like home.
The tourist centre suggested I come up here and it was well worth it. Easy find - unlike a couple in town I tried and failed at. Thanks for my first cache out of Australia!

Found today while driving in the Riley car rally of Gisborne, visiting from Australia. TFTC
A great view from here. The cache was an easy find with no muggle issues. Wow, Princess Diana has been up here!

thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found today on our way from Tolaga Bay to Gisborne and Morere ... we enjoyed the wide variety of landscapes!
TFTC and greetings from Belgium.

Of course we had to visit this place before heading NE to the East Cape.
Maybe the statue is not depicting Cook himself, nevertheless the view is nice and we felt the historic grounds.

I had just the one muggle to deal with while I was here. While he was looking the other way, I found the cache without difficulty. I had to chuckle when I read the plaque.
First of three finds whilst staying with friends in Gizzy, whilst over from the UK. Quick find on an introduction to caching to a pair of young eyes!
In Gisborne for a wedding and had a half day to explore - and find caches!
A quick find.

Visiting from UK. Hired a sleeper car and travelling round the north island seeing the sights, visiting a few friends over here and hopefully picking up a few caches. Been up north and seen some wonderful sights, done some walking and learnt some information about the country and it's inhabitants. Came back to our friend in Auckland. Went to the Bunker Folk club at Devonport Monday night, excellent. Went up and down the Coromandal and across then down the gorge to Gisborne to stay with other friends from UK many years ago. Heading for Napier today, then to lake Taupo tomorrow. Grabbed a quick cache in Gisborne. The tale of the wrong statue was amusing and loved the pohutukawa tree Princess Diana planted. Would love to see them all in bloom but I fear we will have left NZ before they are fully out. A friendly muggle started talking to us about the flora of NZ and what to visit en route to Napier. Luckily his phone rang and he had to go. Retrieved the cache. TFTC
Awesome view from up here thanks to the Gisborne Geocachers for giving us a few ideas for caches I. Gisborne. Nice easy find and alerted me to the fact that my compass needed recalibrating which helped immensely for the rest of the caches on our trip to Gisborne short stop but we will be back thanks for the cache.
