In full support of the new dune restoration project, I am archiving this cache, as access to the beacon (where the intermediate waypoint was displayed) is in the restricted area now.
The hide will rise again as a traditional cache though, retaining the explanation of the beacon system, and using the same ammo box and hide.
Look out for GC3A4AZ once it is published.

The cache appears to be in an area closed off as the dunes are being replanted so I decided not to step in the planting area. Could the owner check if the cache is in the planting area and move it if needed?
The note from jimboeri says there is a new dune restoration planting area at the final, so the cache is disabled until we can check out the spot and confirm the situation.
It appears this cache is in an area that is being replanted and there are some notices around asking people to stay to well defined tracks, so I didn't go looking for it an suggest others don't too. Maybe the owner could relocate somewhere close but less delicate?
took a little bit of looking and hiding now that they have replanted the dunes
A perfect excuse for a walk along the beach on a fine sunday morning before picking up my wife from auckland airport, hope I'm not late! pretty straightforward for a multi which was nice... Tnln tftc. Centuryson from Australia
Excellent multi - I think kids would like this one too, especially with the old gun emplacement en route! TFTC!
Got the clues mixed up and was looking for a box for WP1...LOL. After five minutes re-read the clues and we were back on track. TFTC.
We had a small issue with transposed numbers initially, but luckily we quickly woke up to the error of our ways...
We do enjoy multis, so thank you Radionut50... nice cache too.

Good cache! Hard to pretend to be having a sunny lie down when it's cloudy haha. Great two parter. Thanks for the cache. Still in great condition. Been a month since it's last logged visitor, probably due to winter. TNLN TFTC
Halfway there, got the details for the final location, going to back without kids to finish it.
Had fun just getting to the start, Playing field under water but had our gummies.
Wet and wild walk alond the beach, Love walking here, TFTC

Sloshed our way there in our gumboots. Some of the field was under water. Noticed lots of dead birds washed up on the shore.
Nice walk along the beach to this one.
4 of us looking but my eyes were looking at the correct tree.
Off for a coffee in Raglan now.

It took a while to find the label and bit of scrambling around at the final but it was an ideal day for a walk along the beach.
Another visit to the beach, a nice spot today and we enjoyed the short walk. The surf is pounding in the distance. TFTC.
My first cache in NZ. Enjoyed the well hidden first clue. Took TB, left pony geocoin. TFTC!
as per previous logs - found first easily then gps (smartphone) wouldnt accept new coords so went looking and found after short hunt
First part was easy, but without a GPS or internet access the co-ordinates weren't much use. Used brute force by checking every pohutukawa tree south-west from the gun emplacement. Collected up bottles and cans on the way as cover for our fossicking (cache in, trash out). Decided to give up after one last tree, and there it was. Well-hidden, was lucky to spot it. Great cache container. TFTC.
In Raglan today for the open day at Te Uku windfarm. Parked at Kopua domain, so after the windfarm trip we had to come and get this cache. WP1 located easily enough (the hint was a big help) and then wandered along the beach to GZ. Located the cache easily - nice to see this kind of container again. Signed the logbook while hubby and kids had a swim (in their undies as we hadn't anticipated it being warm enough for swimming at this time of year and didn't have togs with us!).
Left a TB marble. Took nothing.
TFTC - most enjoyable.

Completed the first part of this over a year ago, but with earthie on crutches, we decided not to go on to the final. Made the easy find today on a beautiful day to be at the beach. Thanks very much radionut50
Stayn at Camp saw people walkin their dogs along beach so decided this was a good spot to drop off TB - cheerz Jumboz
Awesome to find something a bit bigger! Our second find and the kids came home with a few bits of "treasure"!
For an overnight in Raglan. Parked on a POP at the other end of Raglan. Took the doggies and went for a long walk to this part of Raglan. Beautiful walk along the beach. I love these kind of multi's thanks.
Great cache!! Was staying at the campsite so was a really quick walk. A few young muggles around where the cache was but manged to hide from them.
We were staying at the adjacent camping ground and collected the information OK. A very large school camp was swimming at the beach close to GZ so we waited until the evening to claim this one and enjoyed a brilliant sunset. Thanks radionut50, we found the theme very interesting, and spotted all 3 triangles - this was an interesting and enjoyable short multi - recommended!
Grabbed this one whilst we were staying at the nearby campsite. The tree next door to the cache tree has been trimmed but happy to say everything was in order. Took rat tb. Tftc.
Nice wee walk to this one, managed to loose my stylus in the sand. Bugger!....... Thanks for the cache
Nice walk along the beach, Mrs MCC managed to leave an imprint of one of the triangles on her head, but found the WP fine and the final easy

Nicely done multi-cache. Liked the old WWII bunker too, on a bit on a funny angle now. Soon had the cache. SL TFTC
Beautiful spot to visit after we went to the lovely creative market in Raglan. TFTC!
After not knowing the right bible psalm we went for plan B and this one worked out well. Nice beach and cool cache. GI Joe will love it in there.

There were a lot of people on the beach - right where we didn't want them to be. However, they were busy swimming and playing and didn't seem to take any notice of us. TFTC
Found with Subcide & neoGeneva. TFTC

Bit worried this one might get muggled at some point, but was still there in new years day.
This was a somewhat damp expedition but it was a nice warm, although a little drizzly, day. WP1 found quickly and onto the final. SL, TFTC

Should have done this yesterday when the weather was fine. Instead got wet, sandy and wind blown, but got the cache.
Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 840. Thanks.
On a beautiful sunny day we drove to Raglan. The cache was easy to find. A nice small walk at the beach.
Thanks for the cache and greetings from Oldenburg, Germany.

loved the tour. Once we knew how the guides worked we kept noticing the other two and felt "in the know". I'm sure we'd seen the gun emplacement on past visits and not really cottoned on to what it was. Lots of muggles around the final & there has been tree felling/clearing which makes it very exposed on 3 sides but GZ seems safe. TFTC - great container.

Another find today on a Raglan visit
Having not been here before was very entertaining.
WP1 was nice and easy and Final spot on.
TNLNSL TFTC.
Stood back and lined up all the markers.
Great how that all works.
Lot of strolling muggles

Took a while to find this one. Our gps off by about 15 metres but additional clues were a fabulous help. Friendly people in camping ground.
Second visit following last visit in January, Left McBobby Bean No1 TB and South Africa Geo Coin. TFTC the ammo box is looking good.
The cache rises like a phoenix! A call from the nearby motor-camp manager says the ammo box that went missing way back in August last year is sitting in his office!
Collected the box today, and swapped it back in place of the plastic replacement. Left the ‘new’ (post August} log book in place. Found a lost jeep TB, and one cacher log in the book that is not on line.
After Kasper58’s log, checked out the intermediate label, and it is in place and in good condition.
Have updated the hint to make finding the label easier.

Was a bit tricky as the label had gone. Just a yellow spot screwed to the frame. After a wee wonder we found it.

Just landed back in NZ, went to find this cache and drop off Scooby the snappy TB... Good luck on your journey!
Woops, it was the Gingerbread man we dropped off. Will remove Scooby asap. Sorry!
[Our first cache in Raglan! CoconutFoo and I brought a travel bug all the way from California to be by the water here. I enjoyed the background story on the beacons. I think that's pretty clever.]
[Spoiler: comment on hint #1:] Regarding the hint though, I think the corner the label is on is more like the NW corner than the NE corner. We spent a lot of time looking for the label on what we thought was the NE corner and almost gave up. Found it on the next corner almost instantly.

Our first Raglan find. What a view! Dropped off the froggy TB. Thanks for the cache.
Loved this one, were staying right next door so great to get our 1st Raglan find done. TFTC
In Raglan for a wedding the previous day. Nice stroll before breakfast to do this cache. A part of the area we wouldnt have gone to without the cache as a good excuse. TNLN TFTC
Nice find on a beautiful Raglan day. Not too hard to find.

While staying in Raglan, we did some of the local caches.
Last cache for the day before dinner. Nice walk around the area. Not too many people around, so finding the WP and the cache wasn't too difficult, except for some muggles having dinner right at the other side of the fence.
The cache seems to be a bit too big for its hidey hole, Rala had to really squeeze it in. Hopefully it stays and hopefully the campers weren't too curious...

An easy find for our first cache in NZ as the box was not covered and easily visible as we approached the tree. We have spent Christmas and New Year with our Daughter her Husband and our latest grandchild who live in Ragland. We spent a few days in Ragland last year so we have now experienced both winter an summer in Raglan. Summer is much better and we are not looking forward to returning to February in Scotland after all this glorious sunshine. TFTC, TNLN other than the Castle Man Geocoin.

Knocked this one off again! Yep, was one of the last to complete the previous version. On high muggle alert at GZ this time of year. TFTC
Having found the previous version of this cache muggled in a makeshift bivouac we were hoping we'd find this one in one piece. Luckily yes! Nice walk (in the hot hot sand) to GZ. - rattlesnake eggs, + puss in boots. TFTC
Had found the earlier version of this one whilst staying at the Motor Camp, and here we were again, staying there again. Nice flat stroll to the cache as legs rather knackered after our tramp up Karori. TFTC
A great walk from town - not too far and a good reward. We struggled with point 1 and resorted to the hint - did not expect it to be so well hidden!
The wind removed all our footsteps and was appreciated by distant wind surfers.
Thanks Jacqueline and Peter #2156

Nice multi. We must have been close on the heels of GuanoGerbil today. Our first visit to Raglan today, a very blustery day, but it looks a lovely place.

Yes cache still there safe & sound. Easy find thanks. The kids love this bit of beach and especially playing at the old WW2 shelter. Dropped off some magnets so the next cacher can see what happens when you play with them in the black sand.
THE FREEZER MICE STRIKE AGAIN.
Not too much trouble finding this one although think some muggle camper saw us take it. Cache replaced with much stealth so hope it's okay. Have removed GC to carry on its merry way just in case.
Left nothing.

Finally found an excuse to return to Raglan. Last time I tried was when the pine tree was little more than a pile of sawdust.
Thanks for replacing the cache, radionut50. TNLN, but enjoyed crossing this one off.

Yes - the pine trees have been removed, and the stash with it - or maybe the clearing exposed the box and a muggle made off with it. So - a new box is in place, this time a 2litre Systema. It is around 3 metres North of the original spot. The hint (and cache description) have been updated.
Oops, only found pine trees in pieces today! Maybe had to be cut down after the storms we had recently. Had a scratch around but found no cache.
Oh dear - looks like tree-felling may have gobbled up the cache. It will be a little while before I can get to Raglan for a look, so this one will have to be disabled.
After a morning of claybird shooting at Whatawhata, decided Raglan was the place for lunch. Tide was out and revealed a mini bank of pipi shells. Cache easily found.
Left Jeep.
Left Jeep.
As Butterfly_Lady found the box today it is clearly still in place. The wording in the log of ccoutts makes me think they may have been looking in the wrong place for the final.
Oh darn - maybe the box has gone. Will check this out, but it will be a week or 2 before I can get there.
Got the 1st waypoint, then arrived at gz. Sifted around in the undergrowth for 10min, but no luck. Looked in all the obvious places, but either its really well camo'd or the gardener has visited. There were signs of recent pruning, maybe you want to check up on it radionut50.
Interesting learning about the beacon system though! Thanks.

Quick find, we enjoyed our stroll along the beach. There were a few muggles near GZ, but they were far enough away to be of no concern.

3.20pm Thanks for another pleasant walk. The cache was very exposed so we covered it with sand and leaves. (But we didn't bury it!) - Toy truck. + Electrical pliers. Thankyou. David and Noeline
Nice find today but was grumpy at the amount of rubbish here and that is one of the reasons I have always hated Raglan. Nil in or out
Another trip to the beach for a swim, the kids found the cache very easy. It was late evening so muggles must have been in bed.The ammo cases are a good containers. Noted that the WW2 gun enplacement has consolidated a lot more over the years
