Had two goes at this one today...about an hour of searching before heading up the hill to retrieve Temptation, where I re-read the logs for this one and had an idea about something I hadn't tried. On the return, it took me all of 5 minutes to locate where I'm certain the cache is supposed to be, however it appears to be missing. Spent some time searching through the leaf litter and branches around its hiding spot but with no luck. A quick check with @Brewmaker who has adopted this one and he confirmed I was in the right place. Will come back here with a replacement container ASAP!

Found this one OCW GHHH and Everesthigh today. I actually thought the creek was rather lovely. The up hill on the way out was a struggle for me today as always. TFTC!

#9101 (3 of 4 today)

I am gradually catching up with my logging - am currently only a month and a bit behind. But that's still over 100 caches!

To be honest, while I still find searching for caches fun, I'm finding logging less so. But I have to log to get me stats and souvenirs, so...

Only a few Adventure Labs and my First2Finds have been written up in a timely manner - don't want people racing out when it's already been snaffled.

Nevertheless, I have kept up with my 2022 goal of 16 finds per caching day. In fact, for the most part my modus operandi has been to actually aim for 20. So far I've only failed on that a few times, and only by 1 find. Amazingly I'm on track for 19 finds per day, but somehow I expect that will eventually prove too hard as I have to travel a good distance if I want more than a cache a day.

Thanks to all the CO's who have made it possible to keep my goal in sight. Most of the finds have been Traditionals, but a few Puzzle series and the odd other cache type have been grabbed where possible.
Sorry the logs are very generic, but I'll never catch back up otherwise.
###END OF GENERIC ABJECT GROVELLING SECTION###
Another mini-millsto... erm, milestone coming up. Decided to hit the royal National Park for an older, bushwalking cache. Or two. And I can grab the one cache I need to set up that milestone on the way in.

Got that milestone, and another older cache in a set of four all up in the Shire.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
The milestone done, it was all downhill from there. Literally!
Of course, it will be the walk back up that'll get me.

Started the search and could spot nothing. Went around and around to no effect. this picturesque spot was indeed getting less tempting by the moment.
Then I expanded the search area and... there is the cache, mocking me!

Grabbed, signed and replaced as a bike rider stopped at the creek crossing for a drink. Had a short chat as he went his way and I went... up!

In the end, not as bad a walk back up as I'd feared. Back to the car and time for one more nearby.
A favourite for the age and the stunning area near GZ.

Hmm, no OOPR for us to find at our GPS GZ today, even spread out several metres.
There was a fallen tree/bush though, maybe underneath it ? Who knows.

Second time looking for the cache. First time we unsuccessfully searched for over an hour. This time I found it within minutes. Searching the ground won't help

The hint rocks are there, but not really near the cache. Co-ordinates are more accurate.

Unfortunatly we were unable to locate this one after about 1hr 20mins of looking. Plenty of muggles about. Will try again during the week hopefully.

On some exercise from Loftus Oval to Grays Point and back via Temptation Creek stopped for this one a nice quick find at GZ

With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache iahawk & spruce7

Nice quick one along a good track.

30-Nov-20
A sneaky hide! After coming up short here a couple of months ago I wanted to avenge a dnf here. At gz, there were a lot less muggles passing by which made me more comfortable to conduct a good search. After circling around for what felt like ages, I started getting thoughts about giving up and heading back to the car but I decided to continue on searching. A couple of minutes later I caught glimpse of the sneaky hide! No wonder I was struggling in my search as I was relying too much on the clue when it doesn’t really reflect the location of the cache. None the less, a good hide, thank you!

15-Nov-20
Spent a good hour or so searching for this one. Cache blindness got the better of us though. This is now on our radar for a redo!

A straightforward walk along a FT and then a track. We had read logs so had a good idea of what to look for. Accurate coords and we soon nailed it. TFTC

A pleasant walk / jog through the nasho. The creek is more of a collection of dried up rock pools in the current drought, but a nice spot nevertheless. Make sure to stay hydrated whilst grabbing this one.

Even in the extreme heat today I enjoyed the walk to GZ.

Down, down we went.

The Creek was dry today although I bet it’s pretty after heavy rain.

Took quite a while to spot the cache, it wasn’t what I expecting at all!

OCW the Bebes with a couple to clear up in this area. We headed down to GZ and let the gps settle. Got a location and started to search. We spent about 10mins and double checked. Yep, same location. The Bebes then shouted ‘found it’. Not what we were expecting but god we had CIH. Pretty damn close to the GZ we both had on our iPhones. Tftc

One of the few times I have been very lucky in finding it quickly. Phone GPS behaved itself for once which was very relieving. Had a great walk down the hill and back up from Greenhaven Road in Grays Point. TFTC. Awesome hiding spot. Forgot pen, took happy snap

28-Oct-18
Eventually found it. Clue was misleading I thought. I only found it by chance. Clue only makes sense in a Douglas Adams kind of way 'in a place where rocks aren't' kind of thing. Still, was good to find it. Today there were ambulances and a rescue helicopter searching all over the park. Word was that a kid had crashed his bike and got banged up pretty bad. It was another 600m further down the side trail where the cache is. Hope he's ok.

Out for a bush walk with geohubster and the three geokids at my request for mothers day. After stopping for lunch at Temptation I challenged geohubster and the two older geokids to bush bash the 200m to the cache whilst geotoddler and I followed the trail for the 1km around. Turns out it wasnt as relaxing as I imagine and geotoddler and I made it to GZ quick and easy and then started gettinh quite nervous when the rest of the family still hadnt appeared 15mins later. They were fine thankfully. Found the rock in the hint but couldnt find the cache. Search high and low, up down and round in probably a 15 m radius, was just about to call it quits and finally saw something I hadnt noticed before - rightbwhere the hint suggested. Decided to follow the trail back to loftus pval with a geotoddler snuggled up on my back snoring in my ear.TFTC!

Having a geowalk today! This was the second of a set of six planned (3F, 1DNF, 2 rained out).

After not finding it last time it was there now. Quick, easy one. TFTF

11-Jun-16
Dropped by again today when cycling past Temptation Creek with my muggle mate. Once again I saw the hints but no cache in sight, even after asking previous finders what to look for. I think it's time to replace it or archive it. Would prefer the former as this is a lovely place to visit and getting RNP NP&WS permission to place a cache is difficult I believe. I might even put a replacement container here if the CO isn't in the game anymore so this spot can remain in the game for other seekers.

11-Jun-16
Would you believe it? Went back later ready to put in replacement cache and log. Saw something on the tree I hadn't noticed before and looked around on the ground and there it was! The golden calf - or bison at least. Opened it up and log was in reasonably good condition but not many spaces left to sign.
I decided to replace with my bigger black bison and new log sheet, but put old log inside. Then hung it back where it was meant to be placed for future seekers.
So glad to tick this one off after a few failed attempts. It's a lovely place to relax by the creek which was flowing well after all the recent rain.
As I cycle through here every now and then I will keep an eye on it as the original COs don't seem to be active anymore.

We too found the out of place rocks but not log. Looked around for a bit. We did find a NPWS tracker which we thought was the cache. Might need to be checked out and potentially replaced.

08-Dec-15
Was here a couple of months back. Like previous logger, I too found the hint (rocks where they shouldn't be) but no log in sight. Thought I might have had cache blindness that day, so dismissed it as one not to be found that day. Has it gone missing? Will try again soon when back in the area on the geobike.

05-Dec-15
I found the hint, didn't find the container. Very tricky this stuff!

29-Aug-15
Trying find all the caches in my 5 klm radius, 2nd one to locate for the day, walked down the hill and then remembered you will have to walk back us this. Arrived at GZ and said it couldn't be hidden so close to the creek, re read the hint and looked around and thought I better check that out, after a short time saw something that I needed, opened it and said there is no log, then shook the container and out it came, signed and replaced, a great hiding place. Thanks to jahawk

17-Oct-14
Thought I'd do the 'Temptation double' today. Looking at the topography maps, I thought it might be easier to try an alternative route. So parked at S34° 3.214' E151° 4.449', hopped on my hybrid with semi-fatties and entered via the Anana Hill Management Trail. While the total elevation difference is less, I didn't figure on a few very steep 'instantaneous gradients' - must be more than 1 in 3 in parts. The effect of the storm from a few nights back was still evident. Happily, that also made some of the looser bits less loose, giving a bit more traction to the 1-7/8" tyres.
Arrived at GZ without any drama (miraculous considering some of the descents) then realised this was worse than looking for a needle in a haystack. So resorted to the hint. That helped. Massively. And cache was in hand in short order.
Now on to the 'other temptation'.
Thanks for the cache iahawk!

10-Oct-13
Walked back around the fire trails from Temptation to here. It was a nice walk to gz. On the way I passed a ranger who advised the trails were shut due to the heat. He allowed me to continue on and find the cache before I left the park. At gz I made a quick find and also replaced the rocks so the hint makes sense.

10-Aug-13
From Temptation my GPSr showed that I was only 209m from this cache, but if I had followed the arrow it would have been a rough & steep descent bush bashing all the way.. So I back tracked 400m, and took the firetrail down to this one. The hint is no longer valid, as I found the cache hanging off a nail in a tree. Thanks iahawk.

04-Aug-13
Found it.
I was tempted, so onto the mountain bike and approached from the eastern side. I hadn't ridden this track for ages and forgot the steepness of the grades (be careful of the loose surface and largish rocks when negotiating the descents to the creek).
Spent around 10 mins looking and was finally rewarded with a find. Co-ords are good. SL.

19-Apr-13
Came from Temptation cache. This was a very nice location but my hopes were dashed when I realised that it was Size 1 and in a bushland area. Saw many geocachers tracks but still couldn't find. I dont like the idea of my hand sticking into logs perfect for spiders to look for a mini cache.

15-Feb-13
A needle in a haystack. I was disappointed when mandalf told me we were searching for a size 1. Didn't find the needle in the end. GPS whirring around all over the place and no rocks around either. One of the previous logs suggested the camo has been disrupted too so we moved on.

great little cache, my gps was playing up but luckily i had time on my side, I rate it high leigh

09-Oct-12
This afternoon I packed the bike for a short loop around 4 or 5 caches I needed to do. I recently watched as this part of the park was closed for burning off and wondered just what I might find with all these caches but thankfully they all survived well.

In fact this one and its surrounds escaped the backburn. On arrival I was looking for something in the hint which I failed to do but I did find the cache! Thankfully- it could have been tricky. Now up the hill on the other side! TFTC!

What a beautiful day. Took me a while to find this little bugger. I do not even know how many times I passed the cache. Once you find it the hint make sence. My problem was that I was using a hint from nearby cache (Temptation). If you do not want to get scratch and damage any nature look up. There was just little water in the creek. Watch out for ants and mosquitos I have been bitten several times. Thank your for bringing me here.

I replaced the old logbook. The new one last for another year I guess if not saturated.

I had so many TBs and GC's to drop off I thought a nice walk to a cache by the creek would be a good place to drop them. I arrived at GZ and soon had to scratch my head numerous times. the GPS was pointing in a very strange spot. All I got for my trouble was a giant leech crawling up my shin and numerous babies copying mamma. I finally took out the pocket PC and in shock discovered this was a dreaded micro in the bush. Where am I supposed to leave my trackables now? The clue did not make sense, I ignored the GPS and widened my search and yep there was that tiny cache in the exact opposite direction where the GPS was pointing. Grumble, grumble a micro in the bush but hey look this is a very sneaky hide and I quite liked the way you've hidden this. Well done. The log scroll is chocka block full. It needs replacing. This is a very peaceful spot... now for the long walk uphill back to the car and another cache to find to unload some trackables. On the way in I spotted an echidna near the track and on the way out had a chat to a beautiful yellow tailed black cockatoo.

28-Aug-10
Normally I don't like micros in the bush, so I have avoided this one for too long.
I expected a film canister under a rock so was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be something different.
I grudgingly admit that this micro just passes the acceptability test!
Really enjoyed the walk on a sparkling winter's day.
Thanks guys.

Perfect day for caching. Nice walk back down the track, as we had been here before and failed to locate the little bugger. Once again the GPS was flitting around giving us only 10-15m accuracy. The young lad saw what may have meant to have been the rock out of place. After 30 mins of looking, the wife suggested triangulating either side of where the gps was pointing. This gave us GZ, but still couldn't locate it. My wife then asked what it would look like. About 30 seconds later she asked me 'What happens if I find it?' Well bugger me, she had! Her first find! After the recent rain the spot was a nice place to visit and splash about. Pen ran out halfway through writing the cache. So attached is a pic of the log in hand, with a glimpse of the cache container. (** warning possible spoiler **) Thanks for the hunt!

Slippery little sucker but I got it this time!!!
My GPS indicated consistently that the target was approx 4m west of where I actually found it... such are the vagueries of the technology , I'm sure. Rather than give up again, I widened and randomised my searching pattern and bingo!

The location of this one was excellent as it is just off one of my favourite running tracks. I have but one (poor) excuse for not finding it... my GPS batteries went flat just as I got close to GZ. Searched high and low, even used the hint (not much help here) c'est la vie.... I'll be back!!!!

It was perfect weather to do this hike, a bit overcast and cool. There were wild flowers blooming in many shapes and colours, and the birds and frogs were singing. We will be returning to this spot on a hot summers day to soak in the deep clear pools. I have riden my Mountain bike past here many times without a sideways glance upstream. Truly a beautiful place for a picnic and swim.

The Cache is cleverly hidden. However, the paper scroll is a bit damp from winter condensation. We aired it out in the remaining afternoon sunshine for about 10 mins.

Lovely day today for a walk in the park. Found the clue straight away but then scratched around for a while trying to find the cache. It then became so so obvious I also smacked myself in the head.
