Seems like this one has definitely been muggled, was not able to find, even with 3 other friends
Out with some Muggle friends, Line_Moh and VibhaHB for a day of exploring the area, the caches and the waves, for sure. This one was our second hunting of the day, unfortunately, we couldn't find this one, by the previous log it seems to have gone. Had no container to replace this one as the climbing up or track to the summit really worth it. Thanks for bringing us here.

Took the long way up. Looked in all the obvious places. Quite a few wasp nests attached to the fence posts. Great views though. I’ll have to come back another time.
Day 2 in NZ for me, and while the geowife and the kids sat on the beach I ran across to this cache, ignoring the others along the way. I'm on a schedule and this was a target cache for me.
This was a nice quick find after I slightly expanded my search. Phone had me in open space initially! TNLN TFTC

It is a beautiful day to combine waking with geocaching. Amazing views and sometimes very steep hills for 2 girls from Holland. TFTC

Hello
Originally, I wanted to write a log here for each cache, but now it has become so many that I believe with loud impressions and the overpowering of this country and these dear people that this log says everything.
It was a wonderful time on these two dream islands with these great people that we did not want to go home.
We have come to know, appreciate and love this country.
And if I could choose a place where I want to die then it would be New Zealand.
Thanks Regards Ranger 70

I came up here a couple of times today to look for this cache but it didn't appear to be at GZ. I walked up the safe way and tried coming down the shorter way and found this very slippery underfoot as the ground is so dry so I only did this once.
Went for a Sunday stroll and collected a few caches. Nice weather and another fantastic view point. TFTC
I was so happy today! The weather was quite nice (sunny and windy) and I was so lucky that I found Te Arai. I'm sure that I'll never find it without our great hobby. And it was fantastic!!! Such a lovely beachside and.... no one was there! Unbelievable for a German. In Central or Southern Europe such a beach would be crowed with people and the coast spoiled with hotels, streets and other bullshit. And I walked around to pick up all this lovely caches and enjoyed every moment.
Thank you so much for showing me this great place and for the caches. It was a pleasure!

Out and about today collecting caches placed in the vicinity of North Auckland. After my walk up the beach I determined to find the caches around the point before leaving for home today. I came down the steep and slippery grass trail to access this hide. It was careful going and I was very glad to be wearing hiking boots. At GZ I again took in the views. Missed the hide on the first pass but got there on the second. Climbed down to the beach from here to access the cache further along that way. Cheers for the little adventure!
Vistra and I decided to spend the day grabbing some caches in Mangawhai and getting some on route up north.
We decided to tackle this from the top, down a really steep hill and a quick easy find once we got there. Im not sure i would have liked to attempt it from the sea side, bit steep and cliff like for my liking, but made it safely the way we went. An amazing view from this point with a rainbow stretching over the forest and the water.

I teamed up with yorkshirekiwi83 for a day of caching around the Mangawhai/Te Arai Point area. After walking up the beach to locate the caches North of the car park, we then wandered around the reserve at the South end of the beach, finding the caches around there. Made our way down the steep slippery slope to GZ and quickly found the cache following the hint. The view down the beach was lovely - complete with a rainbow over the beach. TFTC!

Didn't really read the description until walking up to this cache so didn't know about the beach access - we saw the track leading up the slope while approaching the end of the beach and from the name of the cache knew we had to get to higher ground. What a great view on this sunny morning! Clear and bright blue water. Co-ords not quite right here but might have been my GPSr. Hint had us making the find though. Thanks so much for beinging us to this spot Glyn. A great morning of caching in the area.
Not sure if looking in wrong place, or has been removed as grass looked freshly cut,
but couldnt seem to see the cache anywhere, will have to come back and try again

Took a little tenacity before finding this one...probably because no-one has been here for over 12 months.
Well worth the walk on a glorious day like today.

Had tried to get around to this one via the rocks below but gave up on that idea after a while. Much easier if a bit more of a climb from above. Took a while to locate the cache after trying a bit too low on the posts. Stood and admired the view after signing. Certainly a magic spot and surprised to be the first visitor this year. Easily earns a fav point from me despite me blowing like an old truck after getting back to the top of the hill. TFTC
Great spot. Enjoyed the views from here. Cache all good. Went in to lookout on one track then popped out heading along another wee track. Makes things interesting. Will be back as just sooooo pretty.
I came in from the southern beach (Forestry) to do this cache. Great day for a walk. For me there was only one option to do this cache and that was to pick up the others on the way. Though getting down and back up again on slippery grass was interesting.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
What a leg burner on the way back from this cache. Not to difficult to find, but really big drop of not to far from the fence.
A favourite from Mr P as it was too wet for him to climb from the beach and we happened upon the narrow track from the headland, only to find at GZ there was actually a nice wide path... oh dear but all good fun. t4tc
I approached this from the top trail and made an easy find. I used to come here all the time 40 years ago as a teenager for the surfing. We would leave on a Friday after work and drive through the forestry roads and camp for the weekend. I had an old 4wd in those days, so avoiding the workers and sneaking in was no worries. Now, up the hill again! Thanks.

Came down the green path from WOW and then followed a goat-track to get down to the next level on the topo chart, popping out on another greenway right at the Forestry Lookout. The GPS has been spot on at every other cache but this time had me poking around the wrong end, which also gave opportunity to inspect the "trail" down the rocks to the beach below. There was an obvious route people must use, which looked not too scary in dry weather- though going up is always easier than down , plus I had that 1 last cache to grab - "On The Way" before heading back to the beach.
Waited for some muggles to pass, then found cache easily & finished formalities quickly as a decent set rolled through which had the mermaid's tail flapping in anticipation LOL! TFTC!

Reaching GZ, I was a little bit wary of reaching the cache, even though the cache hint said it was safe! Lycurgon had no such worries as he search on the seaward side, while I peered over and pointed at likely spots. Pretty soon the cache was in hand and it was perfectly safe! TFTC.
We approached from the north, coming down the path to GZ. Going around the fence to the seaward side and working my way along soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.
We didn't know exactly what was the easy or the hard way. So we start walking on the rocks and wanted to see if we could get up somehow. But nothing seems to do...so went back and found a path. A nice challenge, but not too difficult just exhausting hihi.
Went back the easy way to our campervan.

Sent the boys of to this one, while the girls of the team tried to find the one closest to the car park. Success with this cache and it also qualifies us for Lostcourse's "A Timely Challenge" cache as this one was last found 14 months ago on the 27.10.10. Thanks for the fun and the amazing views.
Was hoping to take the jandal challenge when I was looking at this the day before but given the drizzle sanity prevailed and I took the path up the hill in sensible shoes. Met a couple of people on the way down but no one around at the lookout - I bet not too many people even know it's here. Amazing views even with the grey skies - and a nice cache to find at the end as well. TFTC
Approached this cache from North side, so took the easiest way to the cache. We forwarded our journey to South beach so, took the hard way down. It was fun, we all had sandals and the kid (3 y.o.)was sometimes a bit afraid. Thanks for adventure and greetings from Latvia!
Love this area - sunny, clear Sunday afternoon and the beach was almost empty. Thanks for placing the cache here and giving us an excuse to come back.
Think I found a third way to get to this one but I wouldn't recomend it! Enjoyed the views from this spot. TFTC
What a great spot ! We've been to this beach a number of times and never knew this trail existed. Found the cache easily enough once I found the path from the beach. Went home over the top and would definitely recommend the beach approach. Watch out for the gorse. Still have prickles in my finger !

Nice climb, never would have found this spot otherwise. My wife left her jandles behind so did it bare foot, haha. Thanks for the great experience
An interesting walk across the headland with awesome views.

The hardest part of this adventure was finding an easy access to GZ as the tracks are so overgrown. We decided on the hardest but safest route for this one but by the time we arrived at GZ we were soaked through from the waist down. Easy find of the cache (all nice and dry, not like us!). After commencing on our return journey, we discovered we had lost the GPS , backtracked towards the cache and luckily found it on the way. Thanks for the challenge & T4TC.
Nice walk over the top then a bit of a scramble down the other side to the cache. Lovely spot.

We couldn't find this one unfortunately. It was only a week since it was last found so maybe we were just having an off day!
Glad we came up though as while we were admiring the views, Mrs Adnshe noticed some rays in the shallow water below. Cool!

continued on over the hill from Te Arai caches.Someone had cut us a trail down from the grassy hill lookout and killed the gorse at the cache site. Fabulous day and great views of Pakiri. Tempted to go on to next ' Forestry' cache but hungry and thirsty and still had to walk back to Black Swamp carpark.
quite a tough little tramp to this one coming over the top
nice little spot, could do with some TLC to tidy up the gorse (ouch)
suggest closed in shoes to get to this one!
wave (being closer to the ground) found this one easiliy

2579. We took the direct route - with plenty of potential danger! But we were safe! The cache was sitting out in the open and as David said the lid was off but the contents are safe.
Thanks

2.40pm. Found with Sallies who are with us on a trip round the North. The ladies waited on the sand while we took the direct route. We managed O.K. even though we had left our jandals at home. The lid was off the container but the contents were dry and intact. Picked up the TB. Good to get here at last Glyn. Thank you. David and Noeline.
14:19 Followed in the footsteps of kayaknkiwi. About 150 metre walk through the tall grass. Fantastic view of the beach and the surfers today. Sat under a nearby tree and wrote this to log to cool off. Thanks for the cache Glyn

Was in the area with a friend who was keen to know what caching was all about, so we headed off to tackle some caches in the area. Walked from Te Arai Point Car park. Wow what a view and walk we had on this one. After reaching the first entrance of GZ, could see foot prints from the people before so off I went, hmmm would we say some bush bashing.... I felt like I was going in circles as I follow them. Decided to walk up the hill a bit and then we saw more foot prints from people before us. So off we went, with grass up to my hips, interesting!! It was an adventure shall I say a lot of laughs along the way. Is there a thing - grass surfing.. I say no more!! What a magical view. Thanks heaps for bringing us to this spot. TNLN. TFTC.

Easy find. Working out how to get to GZ from the beach after finding "Forestry" was the hard part, no problems once we engaged mountain goat mode.

#917. Walked from Te Arai Point Car park. There's a nice walk over the headland of about 700 metres and that way you get to look out from the highest point. You can see for miles North and South. There's also a track from the highest point down to this cache, which you can then follow on down to the beach. Took Geocoin. TFTC.
Day off today so a low muggle time and time to clear some 80kms list outstanding.
Great views. Took the short route up the hill. Quick find.
Thanks Glyn

I found it from top to bottom. Bit of a gorse/cutty grass bash. Enough to make me stay 'til I found it... anything else exciting. (Left bike at the top) Could be a bit of a project for the council sometime soon. Thanks for bringing me (but not my pregnant wife) to this legendary spot. TNLNSL
After some time fishing down below on the rocks and with no bites I left the rest of the team there and went on a bit of a cache-hunt. Did it from bottom up, not to bad - quick find. Then further up along the way BBPM came( I must agree with the gorse and cutty grass)to the main walkway and off to Te Aria Reserve cache.
Nice view from here, and further along the main walkway as well - see pic's
