Got lost in the jungle... ha, so did not find it.

29-Dec-09
it took us awhile to find the entrance by memory.. but finally we prevailed and enjoyed our ferngully rampage through the jungles !
FYI ... lost pond does not look anything like how it did when i was a kid Sad and it was SOOOOO green water ! watch out for thorny plants and sharp rocks. oh and don't freak out when coconuts and plant foliage falls to the ground... cause unlike us we ran to the closest person to us even those armed with a knife ! (me highly embarrassed! )

Ok so Sher_Bear, Vio, and I all think we know where the trail head is that lead us to the pond is, but we can’t seem to find it. 671stargazer and sannnROX all bust out their GPS and say the trail head is way back. We’re sure it’s still ahead between the two trees on the beach. Rocket is just strolling around.

After getting lost a few times, we find the markers that lead us to the pond. I remember coming here when I was younger, but things have changed, like the water receding, the trees overgrown, and the pond being cleaner less green more clearer.

We find the cache and then head back quickly to swim at shark's hole.

This was my very first visit to Lost Pond. Interesting place but I wouldn't swim in it. Yay for Sharks Hole! We get to GZ and Stargazer does it again! Way to go Stella! =)

We're HEEEERREE!!! This was our destination and find number 5 in The Team Duck Hunters' "Lost Pond Is Found Again Tour 2009." We'd just come from the Latte Stones and we're (okay, okay I was) a little winded from trudging through the sand. I sit down (read: practically pass out) in the shade under a tree to catch my breath and everyone else joins me to rest a little before we go hiking into the Pond area. We brought snacks and water so we just needed to rest a little before continuing. Based on experience from our Pagat hike last month, after we swim, its all down hill from there. And we'll be tired on the way back out, so we MADE SURE we found this one before we start to swim out in Shark's Hole. (Brought my snorkel and err thang Big Grin).

The last time I'd been out here to Lost Pond was back in 2003 (but my dad and I came to Shark's Hole in 2005) so I was a little lost on where to go. We missed the trailhead posted here on the site by about .2 miles, and were too tired to go back, so luckily Purple had been here just earlier this year and led the way through another trail. When we get on the trail its a little easier because hikers before had marked the trail with pink flags *looking to the sky* THANK YOU, baby Jeesus!!

The trail is fairly simple and super rocky *one little piece of advise: TABBIES and LIMESTONE rocks do not a fine hiking adventure make* We're almost there and can already see the water's edge through the trees when something falls in the distance...all I see it iJosh rushing towards us because it caught him off guard! I got a little sliced from secate when I was trying to keep it from slicing my sister! But oh well, what's a hike in the jAngle without a battle wound!

We get to the water's edge and it is exactly the way I remember it back in 2003. Totally cool place, but I wouldn't swim in it now. I remind everyone of where the hint is for the cache and in no time at all stargazer says BINGO!

We go through all the cool swag, but don't take anything. We leave of course a rubber duckie!
I also grabbed Jeremy's Guam to Bangor Coin to try to help it on its journey.
Thanks for the cache! and what an amazing day today to pull off such an adventure!

DO NOT WEAR TABBIES TO THIS CACHE. OMG! Hahaha! I know I know. "Why were you wearing tabbies anyway?" I didn't know, K?! LOL! Load up on the mosquito repellent spray too. This was our fifth cache to find this day, it was mid-day, and we were exhausted but were adamant in completing this mission. AND I have never been to The Lost Pond so I was still excited beyond the deep breathes, pouring sweat, small cuts from those thorny plants, and red eyes from all the Off spray that I was inhaling from the rest of the group. Haha. I have to admit that the pond was indeed lost for awhile until we found the markers leading the way. As tempted as we were to jump into the pond :s we didn't. We doubled back out to the water where we took a cool dip into the Shark's Hole. What an outstanding day! I hope you enjoy this hike as much as we did. With lots of friends and family is a lot more fun. TFTC!

Found it 30 years ago as a kid living in military housing. We use to take the hike to the back of housing and then follow the trail. There us to be a rope on atree we wouls swing from. Back then we called i tthe fresh water pond. So cleab you could see the rocks in the water. What a great memory?

Man this was a tough walk. I took my oldest two of 6 and 9 years and my wife optioned out after "Latte Stones" and took my 3 year old back to the car to wait. Good thing too, it was blazing hot and a long walk. Not to bad as far as terrain goes but enough to make you tired. This was my third trip here but my first looking for a cache. My GPS put me way off due to the jungle but I used the clue and found the cache. Like all the other logs state, it's damp inside but the log is still in good shape. the container should probably be switched out for something a little more airtight. Found this morning while caching in the area with Jimp59 and Ungkulu. The cache was a bit damp, but no more water standing inside. I checked the swag. It was all ok today.
This was a nice hike down the beach / coral rock. The tide was up a bit, so we did the overland route a few times.
Thanks Jebest for putting a cache here. This is another part og Guam that I would have never seen if it were not for Geocaching.

Finally got to this one today!
It's a long walk, but a great few beaches!
There were A LOT of skeeters but I actually didn't get ANY bites!
After 34 years on island, this is my first time to the "Lost Pond". Even during my teen years, when others would go, I just never went along.
So thanks for finally making me get there!

The cache container is is NOT waterproof and needs to be changed. There was a good 1/2 inch of water in the cache. The log was in a ziplock, damp but write-able. I took out some swag that was pretty well dead, but couldn't take much time to dry the cache, cuz of the skeeters.

Mrs. Blygoat and I decided to take a hike today and did this one along with Latte Stones. We went after work which made for a comfortable hike...not too hot. I remember swimming in this pond many years ago and I don't remember it being so green and murky. It was nice to be back after so many years! For those who have problems finding the trailhead to the pond, here are the coordinates: N13 33.461 E144 48.986. TFTC-SL

I, Wandahfoh aka Mrs.Blygoat back in the day found the Lost Pond with Blygoat. Recording this cache finally but didn't think I needed to because I thought I would always be Mrs.Blygoat, hahaha, NOT!

So, this was fun again to come back and find this place...although we didn't do any swimming today because the green water kind of scared me. The cache was in good condition and lots of goodies inside.
