Left the good geowife up on Parnell Street shopping while I came for a walk this and one other cache.

This was a great little park (another one in Auckland that I have found) and a great place for a cache. Found it within a few minutes, signed the log and returned it to it's hiding spot and started the walk back to the shopping.

Took coin for a trip to Australia, left nothing & TFTC.

Cheers,

3.00pm. Must be loosing our nack!! Thought we would knock this one off on our way to visit friends in Parnell this afternoon but ran out of time before we had located it. Our GPS took us out onto some clear grass area similar to the earlier log. Could identify nothing with the hint info. Oh well, another time.

What a timing. We just had returned home from the long tour Whatipu/Pararaha Gorge and this cache listing jumped into our mailbox. 3.2km from home + car and shoes still warm: Off we went.
Rala soon found out that this place bore a special memory. In the small round place around the fountain she and the students and staff from Carlson School had had a picnic the day before one of her beloved students died. Together, we stood there for some minutes and talked about that memory of having spent a beautiful and special last day in the life of a child.
The cache was found pretty quick when we ignored the fact that our GPS was pointing into the middle of the open and flat grass area. The hint was useless in the dark, so cacher instinct had to do the job. Afterwards we looked up and saw the thing that the hint referred to. Nice place.
