Finally called in to do this one after being put off previously bybthe thought of a 500m walk in the rain. Cold today but dry so far. Kiwi Grandad and I recognised a few of the names on the plaque and knew the answer to one question without needing to read anything. A quick find after a shorter than expected walk. Good multi.
Thanks Annie & PB for the cache.

A significant site we were pleased to visit. Have seen it before on tellie. Interesting plaques. Easily sorted and found multi. PINO TFTC
Team_Gaters and I have planned a this trip over the last few months. We finally got to the business end of things and kicked off out West Coast raid. We had two days and a lot of boxes to tick. We started at 5am on Saturday morning and it took over 12 hours to get to Greymouth. We drove a lot, walked a lot and had a lot of laughs. We experienced 4 seasons and even contemplated aborting the mission as we were standing in icy cold weather freezing as the rain came pelting down in Arthurs Pass. We encountered matigouri, rosehips, blackberries, brambles, spainairds, baby gorse and old man gorse!!! Still finding parts of prickles in my skin! We also saw kea, weka, cave weta, tree weta, giant slugs, giant spiders in caves, west coasters, fat wood pidgeons, tui and a giant dragon fly. Had wet feet for nearly two days. Three FTFs and on of them was unpublished (first for me).
We double checked numbers and we had one a bit off as it was more than the suggested 500m. We reread everything and headed over to GZ. It should be there, hmm too far from GZ. TG made the find, clever hide. There were muggles getting their kite ready to pull out their fishing line. They were too busy to pay attention to us. The sea was wonderful.
Awesome weekend. TG and I joked that going back to work would be a bit of a let down, so to combat that we would keep one foot in a bucket of water and the other one on top of a pin cusion, that should ignite the memories.
Thanks for the cache.

Heading to Greymouth with TheWanglers on a caching weekend. Stopping along the way to pick up a few....nice to knock off another. Had solved the majority of this on the internet before leaving....at GZ just needed the couple dates. But the caculated GZ seemed to far away. Hmmmm. Quickly corrected and GZ looked better. A nearby kite fisher was no worries.....GPS pointed over there but a nearishby feature seemed the likely hidey spot, but nothing found. Went back to GZ. Ha ha ha. Nice wee hide. Signed and moved on. Aaaaaahhh the coast. Nice to have made it. More caches to be found though...onwards. Cheers.
Came here on the way to Hokitika today. I was in the area a few years ago as support crew for my son who was competing in the race but never got down to the beach so it's interesting to see where everything starts. No problems with the questions and the cache was a quick find. Signed log, TFTC
We bought sandwiches for lunch at Kumara, drove down here to eat them and noticed this cache. A neat well constructed multi.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Nice multi down by a quiet beach today.
There is an awesome stag with a great pair of antlers in the paddock nearby.

Found it after a couple of minutes, no problem really. A great spot, almost no-one else there on a sunny weekend afternoon.
Was support crew for a mate doing the longest day and we wandered down here to get a feel for the start pre event. Was a nervous lad that we left at the racecourse gate at 5am on Saturday morning and a happy chappy that we collected at 9:50pm at Sumner beach. Thanks for a great cache.
No idea what went wrong last time, maybe we did not dig deep enought. But this team 50% of the team checked the answers (again) while the other 50% found the cache and confirmed the calculation. Anyway, now another smiley for us.. TFTC

Did the workings quickly for this one as Mr Geckoh was aware of most of the answers already, having completed both the two day and one day events in the past. Calculations completed it was a short stroll to GZ and cache quickly located. Thanks for giving Mr Geckoh a reason to show us all the start of the Coast to Coast - he had a ball, the last time he was standing here it was for a photo with his Dad. TFTMC

Not sure what is wrong here. Checked our answers twice, visited a possible spot, although not nearly as far as suggested, but nothing there. Can the owners perhaps check information and calculations?
Pretty sure we had the correct answers, GPS was pointing to an object that matches the hint but no cache for us today. OK, it was very wet and we gave up after a very short period of time. But will be back (and add another cache to the watchlist!)
Naomi & Cliff. Just too much wind and rain to continue on. Even getting sandblasted. Have to find on our next visit now
Knowing the man, done the event a few times, able to answer all Q's with out the WP1, made it a whole lot easier than actually doing the event ! No nerves her today.
This was fun. We did know about the race and literally found this by accident, thanks to the cache. Thanks for the well designed challenge. We had a good laugh while looking for all the answers.
Finally re-found our own cache today.
All dried & cleaned with new log book.
Moving on a Cat TB that wants to go somewhere we are heading soon.

Hopefully one of the Coast to Coast competitors could move kitty closer to its destination.

Never knew this was where the race started - very interesting reading all about it. Replaced bag, added silicon stuff as previous bag was damp. Took GC, left a swappable item. Thanks for a really enjoyable multi. TFTC. (P.S. I think the year of the unveiling should read XDDX not XXDX, but I guess most people can figure it out )
We enjoyed doing this multi - Loved finding out about the history and facts about the event - Very Cool!!!! (Log book was soaking wet tho - may need maintenance please)
Found on the third trip down to the site, this time i took the info i needed to complete
Last cache before dinner. Stuffed up the calcs first time, rechecked, and then had an easy find at dark. Nice spot, and interesting monument. Cheers Gav [9537]
6160 A nice dedication cache to your Little Sis’ ... congrats on completing the race, well done. Many thanks for setting up the multi.

We soon answered the questions, and went off along to the cache which was quickly found. TFTC
An error on my part put the cache location 150m out to sea (wasnt obvious to start with). Time constraints meant we couldnt go back and correct it.
We'll be back
We'll be back
Have stood on this beach quite a few times waiting for Juddy to start us off. Magic spot, and today was just amazing, sea flat, no wind and sunny. Good on Little Sis`!! TFTC.
Nice small, simple Multi. sandflies had a feast on my feet and legs. TOOK Nothing but LEFT Cameo girl. TFTC
Nice wee multi, great day on the coast - staying st the Scout camp and out for a walk - TNLN SL TFTH

A nice quick multi at a place I've seen on TV but never visited. Well done to al those who compete! TNLN Thanks,
Lovely evening at the cache - saw the sun setting to the West. Took a little unicorn stamp and left a russian coin.
What a great race .. and an excellent excuse for a cache (not that we ever need an excuse!) Very cold and windy here today .. but the kids still enjoyed jumping between the starting points while the adults got the clues! Toddler B was guided in to "find" this cache ... a nice easy find (even for a 2 year old!) TFTC
We enjoyed the memorial and had no trouble with the clues. As Nelsonians nice to see the first value here. Sobad managed to get attacked by a tree then electric fence so left Mrs to complete the walk. Took geocoin. TFTC
2765. It was a beautiful morning to be out here. We enjoyed reading all the information and thinking about all those who have taken part in the race.
We left the Craze Comic Geocoin.
Thanks

Thanks for this one. The Joe of jojoes is on the plaque as one of the originals (he won it!). Back again for the 10th time this year. Jo is support crew, having been 3rd in the womens race 1993.
Have been here before but had not had time to find it.Easy find with 1st time cacher
Quickly got all the clues sorted out and had to wait for two muggles walking their dogs to vacate the GZ. Nice days for caching and this brings up our 200th find milestone. TFTC
I'm the 'little sis' of" little Sis' Race. Found 'my' cache with Annie and PB while on the coast for another adventure. Now have my own log in. An amazing race, if you want a challenge go for it!
Found this one on a very blustery afternoon, the sand was fair blowing around making it hard going. First visit after successfully completing two coast to coasts. TFTC
Awesome beach. Used to live in Sumner but never had the urge to cross the divide in anything but a car. Hats off to all who achieve this. Left "ancient" shield, took nothing.

I also got the awesome sunset view, even through a thin layer of cloud. 20th (and final) cache today on a mission to Hoki to pick up a new bath. Thought I'd cruise up the coast and camp up but just kept driving and ended up back in Nelson. Cheers.
Awesome views on sunset. Second time today i'd wished i'd had the surfcaster (although i didn't have much luck this time last week)
thank goodness the walk to the final wasn't that long; i only had my knee operation 3 days ago! Cabin fever was setting in and i needed to get out and about. Will be sore later on. 4th of 4 today. TFTC

Last cache on the coast this trip done in between down pours, now heading for the sun over the hill.
Thanks Bitsprayer

Yes, the cache is alive and well. The WP calcs were easy enough. I competed in the Coast-to-Coast and even got 9th place overall. Couldn't do it now though!! No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf(1168)
It certainly is back. Am and I decided to do a spontaneous drive down to do this one. Beautiful sunset. TFTC

Upon discussion with JemNZ, it does seem that this is gone. Should be replaced on Tuesday as we have to go past on the way to the airport in Hoki.

Yes a nice wee spot to stop for a cuppa and a cache. Thanks for showing us this spot, I have picked up the coin and will drop it into another cache. cheers
Number 6 for the day. A fairly quick find as the wind didn't encourage lingering! Think I saw a sign on that cafe at the junction that said it opened at 8, should only have to wait a couple of minutes for a coffee by the time I get back there. Loving this caching on the coast - thanks.
Had all the necessary info at home in my photo album from a previous visit to this place so manged to work out the co-ords before I left home - sweet!
Oops, seems I made an error though so had to re-visit the monument anyway. Quick find with the right co-ords.
Cache find number 2400 for me and a notable milestone as this was exactly how many caches there were in NZ when I started geocaching 18 months ago. There's now around 4000 so I will carry on caching
Well done to your little Sis, quite an achievement to complete this race I understand.
+ Best of British Geocoin (seemed appropriate)

How do they fit all those competitors on that small starting road. Nice wee cache, quick find fortunately as the wind was VERY cold.

Was that a road closed sign we saw? Drove on by anyway to find our last cache for the day. Calculations made cache was easy to found. Wonder if it will get muggled when there are crowds here for the race.

Stopped here for morning tea 4 days ago but I couldn’t find the multi-cache’s questions in my PDA. I discovered later that GSAK had ‘misfiled’ them under the cache’s true name, which was different from it’s ‘smart name’ in the gps. Easy find today once the final cords had been calculated. Thanks for the cache.
I realize that there are a few caches in town that I could go out and FTF, but, needing a break from a wet weekend spent mostly at work, I decided to go for a drive instead.
Managed to complete this one between deluges.
Fantastic cloud formations on a stormy evening.

A quick enough find on the way back from working in Hokitika. Did my maths wrong, and I can see where I have made an error, but found the cache on my way back to recheck. Quite a few cars here at 7pm, but the owners were spread far and wide. TNLN, TFTC.
