This cache is being archived. This is a great area for a cache and options will be explored for a new cache when wind farm construction is completed.

Looks like this cache has been interfered with. Due to ongoing problems at the site, the cache is disabled for the time being.

had some trouble with this one.Found what appeared to be the site - a hole in the ground, about the right size for the container, & under a rock, but there was nothing in it.It may have been the old site, not sure? watched like hawks by people working in area!

What a great cache. Superb hide.
Had a chat with a security guard and took some pics.
Was able to be seen by guard but he was busy.

Have been meaning to visit this cache for some time and decided to do it today in combination with the Pahiatua cache. Found without a problem. Interesting turbines - two bladed in comparison to the normal three bladed variety. Thanks for the cache edvern!

Spent about 10mins looking but nothing found before the pesky security guard came down to the gate for a nosey. Looks like it's a 24/7 guard so think I'll leave this one till construction is finished.

Update: Uh-oh! seems I had both the old and new waypoints loaded and was searching with the old one no doubt Red Face

Cache moved about 10m to, hopefully, a more secure and secluded spot. All this was done just metres from a security guard dozing in her car at the entrance to the wind farm!

Nice Cache. An awful lot of muggles around so took awhile.

Found on our way to the Orienteering National Champs. No view today as it was really foggy. Eerie noises as we could hear but not see the wind turbines. TFTC

I am disappointed that a worker has caused problems. The cache was placed on public property well outside the gate, near a sign saying "public road". It might be advisable not to park too near the entrance to the windfarm when visiting this cache in working hours.

Found it, but was chased off my a worker who claimed the GZ was on private property and he became quite indigant, so I concealed it without signing and he escorted me away from the area.

On the way to the Wairarapa so we did the windy gravel road thing once on top of the Track. Surprised to a) find some guy working on the road, and b) find others at GZ who were engaged in cacher-like acts of looking and searching. And yes they were cachers too. So we managed a sort of 'joint find' on this one. Good to meet fellow Manawatu cachers team boxerpat, although it was pre-morning coffee and I was very slack about introductions Red Face.

Found with team cacher Sweet P

0paco0, Red and the Cache-Dogs found it.

Wow, that was a very speedy FTF - well done! [:o)]

Interesting factoid: there is only one turbine going, because all 5 of them would make too much noise to stay under the Db limit. Makes you wonder how they will ever be able to run 97! Twisted

Beautiful views all around from up here.

FTF at 8.14am
It's a great view of Palmy from up here. Not much wind either. A good opportunity for a close up look at the turbines.
I had a good idea of where the cache was, having been up here on Sunday.

I expect that this will rank as a regional FFTF, i.e. fastest first to find.

The notification of publication email was sent to me at 07:39 am, Friday 22 February and nzcoozer's log indicates FTF cache at 08:14 am. That makes it 34 minutes from time of publication to GZ. Wow! I reckon that even the Auckland mob would be impressed with that.

Congrats on a Formula 1 style FTF nzcoozer. I'm astonished and jet lagged!
