Thanks to all the people who helped Gerry's friends in their travels but its time for them to move on to greener pastures. Gerry will let you all know when he has found a new pad for them
A quick find for my first cache as a north islander.
The hardest part was telling the difference between the trash and the cache. Not a very pleasant area.

Disabling to find a more suitable location as it appears that this spot is being used as a dumping ground by locals
Took a little while to find, but reasonably quickly once GPS settled down. A nice little spot...it's a shame the locals use it as their dumping ground though. TFTC Cheers!
[Found it. Log book was a little damp.] Was magnetic South rather than West from stump? [Lots of animals! TFTC]
hardly think this is kid friendly... a bit of a tip really, literally. maybe i had the wrong coords?
Decided Arama ( four and a half) should join us on the jungle quest for Gerry the Giraffe. Wet day and the steamy jungle showed signs of slashing by previous visitors. Arama and Bcj97 decided I should put my hands into the likely spots just in case any snakes or tarantulas had escaped the container. Bit of a search and we think Southish rather than Westish from stumps was more likely. Arama decided that the animals were enjoying the party so popped a mother lion in to keep control of the lion cub that was misbehaving.Signed log (including Arama)and replaced as found. TFTC Incidentally I believe the park was previously the site of a woodwork and cooking manual training centre that I used to come to from Thorndon School back in the late 50's. We came on the train and walked up the driveway. Boys did woodwork - girls did cooking - times have changed.
Pleased to find this one after 2 visits before it was shifted, that were without a find. Took a bit of a search, but was found in good condition. SL -TB TFTC
Nice to see this one come back up Scoop. Added a few more clues as the cache was easily seen.
A quick revisit armed with the latest notes to find this one. Cache container broken as previously noted, but contents only mildly damp, not wet at this stage. A plastic bag covering is providing some protection.
Great to see the owner is aware and will sort out on return from hols.

Cache owner is currently overseas on holiday, but regard the cache as disabled for the time being.
Arrived at GZ to find the target bush completely chopped down, and just a broken Sistema clip in the hole. Didn't have the most recent logs with us, so didn't know it had been rehidden by someone nearby.
Suggest the owner needs to update the cache description, hints and coords for the new location.
Suggest the owner needs to update the cache description, hints and coords for the new location.
Cache description, hints and coords in need of an update to reflect new hide.
Found a bit of the lid - one of the blue clips with sistema on them in the remains of the bush, so we thought the cache had been destroyed, however managed to find it nearby. Found with mumandme and angelic_kiwi TFTC
Sad to see this one damaged. I covered it with the plastic bag as best I could so hopefully it's still waterproof.
As per previous log (which we didn't see until after we had found the cache) vegetation has been removed. Decided to have a hunt around the area and sure enough, found the cache. Looks like the area is being used as a rubbish tip by some.
Unfortunately the cache has been whacked by a giant weed wacker and the lid is broken, we rehid the cache behind the nearby tree as gz is now very exposed. Found with Biggles while on a Wellington cache run. TFTC.
[Find number 22 on a day caching in the capital with Kiwi Explorer. Unfortunately, someone has completely sliced up the vegetation concealing this cache, leaving it totally exposed and somewhat damaged. We moved the cache a bit so that it wasn't in full view] Moved the cache 4 - 5 m to the left of the original spot (looking up the hill) behind a tree.
Easy find although muddy area. A great idea for a cache. Contents damp and need a good night in the airing cupboard. It is sad that folk thow so much rubbish over their fences into reserve areas had to keep an eye on where the kids went.
Had no luck on this one. Couldn't get any GPS near the spot, area was very muddy and slippery. Searched for a while but no luck - will try again another time
Swapped GC's after we worked out how to get to this park! Hint was necessary too. TFTC
Wanted to locate this for next time my gradson is in town. A lot of water has come down in last few weeks so decided not to spend too much time poking around in the muddy undergrowth. Will know where to come next time.
A quick find with nzcoozer, as it was plainly visible. We hid it better when we left. TFTC

I walked right past this one and up the hill whilst Moneydork proceded to find the cache. D'oh! Cheers Gav [2489]
Discovering the Wellington suburbs, another nice little park. Disappointed that Gerry wasn't at home, we were looking forward to meeting him. Tuis were singing loudly while we signed the logbook. Out Geocoin , In Travel Slug.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
[Easy find on an afternoon walk - almost too easy as the cache was sitting right up in the middle of its host plant] (Hedychium gardnerianum or Kahili ginger, a noxious weed that the Regional Council would probably like to dispose of) [and it was visible from some distance away. I have concealed it a bit better now. I had been going to let George the howling monkey join the other animals but unfortunately he's just too big so he'll have to find a home somewhere else... Animals all dry after the recent heavy rain and looking very comfortable. TNLN, TFTC!]
Will drop Radio Tiki GC in Gerry's cache when I put it back this afternoon. If it doesn't move will grab next time I go further afield
#41 - found it! Seems like a lot of the bush has been cut back but it's still hidden.

Checked cache and is in place. Container seals properly if closely correctly--animals had largely dried out when visited at 2.30pm.
Great idea for a cache. Unfortunately box is not perfectly sealed, so most of the animals are damp - I suggest the owner should take them home, give them a wash and blow-dry and put them back into a water tight container... TFTC!

This was my second find today. Couldnt find the GC looked all though the cache. Great amount of cuties locked in a small space. Bit tight for them. TFTC TNLNSL
Quick though somewhat muddy find, cache was quite exposed, but covered it up on leaving.

Thought Gerry might appreciate this
The giraffe test ....
1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?
Stop and think about it and decide on your answer before you scroll down.
The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.
2 How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?
Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator?
Wrong Answer.
Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.
3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals
attend.... except one. Which animal does not attend?
Correct Answer: The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there.? This tests your memory. Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show
your true abilities.
4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and you do not have a boat. How do you manage it?
Correct Answer:? You jump into the river and swim across. Have you not been listening? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.
According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all questions wrong, but many preschoolers got several correct answers. Anderson Consulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four-year-old.

Nice find, waandering dew can be useful sometimes!!
Young muggles seemed to already know about it and telling each other ' you can play but not take' - not so bad and probably in keeping with the game plan for this cache.

I tryed to approach this spot from above which was a bit frustrating. Not to difficult to find the object of interest. Is it a trifid?
[Easy find thank you. Dropped off Treasure Hunt Beetle TB.] BTW a bit of useless info - we believe the faux banana is a wild ginger plant, which over our way (Hutt) is a noxious weed.
Bit of a "spooky"spot!!!
