Well, now we can claim to have walked to the highest point on the island. Found by Ronice, signed as VIIPERS. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
A group of geocaching friends consisting of Val (cybergran V), Ian (half of the team Riddell) Ian (icybeetas) Pam (weirdobiker) Evelyn (SciFiRulz), Ronice (Ronice88) and Sylvia (half of team Riddell) are touring Norfolk Island with the aim of finding every cache here. This was a quick find of a cache in good condition and the log signed as Viipers to save space. Thank you richlink for placing and maintaining it as this cache enhanced our visit to this beautiful island.
A group of caching friends are visiting from the mainland and enjoying the scenery while caching. The log was signed as team (viipers) who include cybergran V, SciFiRulz, Riddell, Ronice88, icybeetas and myself. Made it to the top and the views are spectacular, as is the rest of the island. We didn't have long to soak up the view as we had to scoot back for an event at Emily Bay.
Once again, Astro says HI!Found on a two week holiday on Norfolk Island stunning vistas everywhere I look, unfortunately the camera doesnt do it justice!Hard to look for caches when the scenery is so stunningGreat piece of history Thank you richlink for placing this game piece here, showcasing this lovely area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
We met a man carrying his radio equipment. He had been up the top and contacted people in New Zealand and Queensland. He was ex RAAF. This story added to our enjoyment. Tftc
Beautiful day for a walk and found with David343. So many viewpoints and happy to collect some caches on the way. TFTC
Worth the climb and the view is beautiful. So much history to learn. TFTC. Found with 2MuchMum.
An interesting rusty apparatus, but it took us a while to find the cache in it. Of course it was just out of our line of vision. Good spotting by @CaitlinTW. Thanks for the cache
Found after a bit of a hard slog, for an old unfit fella like me. I love WW2 history. No pen so photo proof. CheersBundy
End of the line. Do I need radar to return, no. I'll go back via the tyre tracks. Fav point TFTC endeavour3
My buddies: bella at waggy Norfolk is gorgeous! This cache, the walk to the cache and gz is darn cool!! FP worthy Thank you richlink, for creating, placing and maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.Follow my story on Instagram @AlphaDeltaIndigo
Up early with ADI, Crash and Haveryt to see a sun rise on the top of Mt Pitt and watch the island walk up. Plenty of roosters letting us know the sun was up, photos down and now to find the caches along this stretch with ADIGreat views and interesting history from Mt Bates. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Always enjoy finding a techno-relic. Looks like the antenna rotator. Found with MummyPenny. Thanks richlink.
We spent a fun and productive week geocaching on Norfolk Island, as well as seeing the spectacular views. We also did several tours and other activities on offer, which highlighted different aspects of the island life and history. Thanks for this cache.
#14423 10:00And this cache completed the mini Power Trail on Norfolk Island. The views are not as spectacular as on Mount Pitt. The trees might have grown after the radar station was dismantled. But certainly some interesting history here as shown on the informative plaques.TFTC richlink.
Spent a fun week with the geocaching Norfolk group finding many caches. Thanks to rich link for the cache.
A lovely walk up the hill through the forest. Signed as G8. With C8, MA EH ID ZAU 4R T0061. TFTC
Found while out caching with ilook4geo and Geologic2 during a full on caching week of adventure. No problem here. Thanks go to richlink for placing this cache.
A cool piece of history and the perfect place for a cache, but the view is great too.
Having an awesome time geocaching on NI with friends. My first time on an organised Geotravel holiday. TFTC richlink

Great hiding spot! Thanks for placing this cache. This was a special day for me, reaching my 1,000th cache at the lookout - a perfect spot.
#7574 NI Day 3With our afternoon Convict Settlement Tour finishing a little earlier than expected, harveyt2079 and myself looked for some suitable caching targets to take advantage of the remaining daylight. We chose the Botanic Gardens AL. After finding the bunus and still plenty of daylight to spare, we headed uphill towards Mt Pitt. With only 15 minutes before sundown, we rushed to grab the furthest cache. The sunset was very overcast compared to what we witnessed yesterday, but definitely keen to return for a sunrise perhaps.TFTC richlink
Finally we have reached Mt Bates. The view isn't as good as at Mt Pitt, or maybe it is but I'm rather vertically challenged and even being naughty and standing on the seat I couldn't see much.We walked from Mt Pitt and it was steep we thought on this first day here on Norfolk Island. Little did we know this is an easy walk. It is lovely to be able to walk in this important National Park. There were lots of birds calling but they were very hard to spot. Plenty of black and white butterflies seemed to be following us along the track. TFTC # 6017
Wow some more history, that I would not have know about if not for this cache. The location of the sectret GZ is incredible. Thanks for not placing a nano here. Nice big cache. Interesting history. The views however are being reclaimed by nature. While this is higher than Mt Pitt, the views are better from there. Interesting to see the big hole dug out for the transmitter hut.
Fabulous spot for a hide that you would easily walk right past if you were not looking for this beauty. Nice cache
Day 6 of my Norfolk Island adventure. I can understand why people want to live here . Its a little bit of paradise. I saved the hardest terrain caches in my opinion till last. But all come with a stunning view. Some logs signed as N2OThis is my 12132find.Thankyou richlink for placing and maintaining this cache
After a wonderful first day on Norfolk Island with my extended family, I ventured along the track from Mt Pitt to Mt Bates with a few of them. My niece and nephew helped me hunt for some caches, and after they declared this one to be absent, I crawled in and showed them how it's done. In all seriousness, it was lovely to have some company and this place is amazing. Everywhere I look there is something beautiful. And the birdsong is incredible. Thanks, richlink.
Another beautiful view on a beautiful island. After admiring it, we descended to GZ where the cache was quickly found.
I was a little hesitant to check the GZ but got the cache in the end. Enjoyed the short walk to the summit, thank you
Over with IolantheK from Brisbane celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary [^]Todays cache collection is brought to you from the middle!!Today is the final stretch, after church at St Barnabas we headed up Mt Pitt to do the "Norfolk Island Power Trail Counting down 1 of 9 Nice easy find, cache is dry and in good condition [^]TFTC richlink
T-Tech and I are visiting Norfolk Island for our 40th anniversary. We arrived from Brisbane and are staying for 2 weeks at Endeavour Lodge, and plan to get some R&R, see all of the sites, learn the history, and gather every cache here so we can claim the Se Dun Challenge This morning we attended church at St Barnabas, then wandered around the Botanic Garden. After that we drove up Mt Pitt and walked the Summit Track to Mt Bates. Our last 9 caches on the Island were gathered as we walked back and drove back down Mt Pitt Road.T-Tech was interested in the history up here. He made a quick find. TFTC, richlink.
Found with the Canberra group of Joolay, Contesta, Strange Trousers and iPlod on day 6 if our Norfolk Island adventure. Last cache on the island to collect. Tftc
# 8984 Norfolk day 6 with the "Dem CBR" team of myself, iplod65, barb2e, Joolay and contesta.Today we tackled our last 3 geocaches on Norfolk with a walk over the summits of Mt Pitt and Mt Bates along the summit track. We quickly gathered these in on probably the best day weatherwise so far. All quick finds. Thanks richlink for the Traditional Cache
Find # 10502Day 6 in Norfolk, here for a week of caching fun with geofriends Joolay, barb2e, StrangeTrousers, and iPlod. Zoom zoom zooming around in Kermit (green not red) Logging as DEMCBR.Woohoo! Thanks so much for the many caches richlink and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light
Last cache to qualify for the challenge. Lovely spot. How exciting to be at Norfolk finally. This has been the plan for so long. Lovely to be here with Contesta, barb2e, Strangetrousers and IPlod65, signing as DEM CBRThanks for getting me out and about richlink
On holiday in Norfolk Island with StrangeTrousers. Beautiful Island. TFTC signed as DEM CBR
My wife and I spent a wonderful week on the Island - the first time for me (but hopefully not the last) and the second for her. Such a delightful place! I took my GPSr, with the traditionals downloaded (I don't really make the time to do puzzles or multis) and figured I would find a few as we went around the place. I never had any intention of finding all 41 of them, but somewhere around day 5 I realised it was actually feasible.
In the end it was a close call - one quite tough-to-get-to cache (Bird Island) I had to visit twice after not reading the description before my first visit and discovering it is really a multi and then stuffing up the calculations so I had an almost blind search for the cache; another (St Barnabas) was out of its hidey hole so took three visits before I found it among some fallen leaves nearby). But I got there and managed to claim them all.
In the interests of saving the limited data on my phone, I only look placeholder drafts during the week and am completing them back home, a month later. So with all due apologies, they are going to be pretty generic for the most part. But I will add comments about those that I particularly remember. No matter how detailed the final logs, I want to say a big thanks to those who have placed the caches and those who continue to maintain them. I had great fun finding them and they really helped make sure I saw as much of the Island as possible. So - a big and sincere TFTC

Found as part of a lovely walk but sometimes tough walk that ended up taking me down to Bird Rock. As I look at the online logs now it's nice to see a photo of the log book with my signature in it, taken by someone else who obviously wasn't far behind me!

A lovely walk up to this spot with some lovely trees and a tiny bird that followed us all the way. Finally found this after a bit of a search. Sorry we lost the pen on the way but will send a photo of the logbook. Tftc Saw TB, but left it for another cacher to move along.
Having traversed a good stretch of the Bridle Track, Mrs. Gunnie and I made our way to the top of Mt Pitt, then wandered over here. All nice and quiet on the path, but there was a couple overhead GZ when I arrived here, so while I was able to nip in and quickly secure the find, I had to pause after signing the log before dropping it back.
A nicely placed container in a great spot.
Cheers richlink.

After a visit to the Botanical Gardens our adventure continued with a trip up to Mount Pitt and Bates stopping on the way to pick up this trail of caches. Enjoyed reading the descriptions of each of the caches which we found very interesting. TFTC
Another interesting cache in this area, not much left of the old radar. Found quickly, TFTC.
Watch your head at this one. I scored myself right on the temple.
Otherwise, this is an interesting tale. Thanks for the information.

Issac Bruce found this one whilst showing us around his Norfolk Island. Mel and Em are visiting from NZ for Christmas ️
I was a little worried as I crossed the barrier to find this cache and while I was there I heard some noises and thought that I might be sprung by muggles, but no, there was no one else on the trail to disturb me. Interestingly, the nearby top of Mt Bates is supposedly the highest point on Norfolk Island, but it is only 1m higher than Mt Pitt and there is very little view from here. Plus the supposed 500m walk is a bit further than stated IMO - I measured closer to 1.5km for the return walk & there was not a lot of detouring for the caches along the way. TFTC & the excuse to do one of the walks in the NP.
What a lovely view. And the perfect place for a radio direction and range RADAR installation. Good work RNZAF.
TFTC,
Day 5 on the Island and we needed to make it an easy day after walking the Bridel track to the Cook Monument yesterday.
After a reasonable walk, it is amazing to come across this location.
Added a favourite and visited trackables.

TFTC. It’s strange that this cache does not come up on Cachly - oh well.
Thanks for bringing me here.

On the 15 Day of October 2022 I was transported from the Mainland to Norfolk Island to serve 7 days in detention. On arrival at NI, I was transported by the Bounti bus to my prison quarters at Ocean Breeze Cottages.
The convicts had now reached the top. Unfortunately this did not assist with any plans for escape.

What a great hike up from Palm Grove, took some great pics. Love the history on the signs and the birds flitting around us at the top.

I checked on the cache today and the container is no longer waterproof. I replaced the container & logbook , and dropped off a Trackable.

Time to head to Norfolk Island to celabrate our 70th birthdays. When we were here before we were not geocachers, this visit will be spent gathering geocaches and revisiting our favourite places. Our appologies for the generic logs it does not take away the enjoyment we have found in the fantastic places athey have been placed and all the different styles of caches that we are enjoying,

After the event and dropping off mum and Oliver for their high tea, we hit the mountain slopes again, to finish off the remaining caches on Norfolk - sort of bittersweet really....
A quick find amongst the wreckage, all nice and dry tucked away from the elements.. we added a TB. TFTC!

Found this morning while on our mission to finish all the caches on Norfolk Island, after dropping Mum and Oliver back at our accomodation so they could go to high tea, we headed off towards the hills to finish it off. I can't really tell whether I'm happy that we're done or sad that there is nothing left for us to do...
After walking the summit track for a while, we eventually arrived here. Once we stopped we quickly spotted what GZ was, and once Dad walked into the bush a bit, he quickly found the cache in its hide... Really cool spot with an amazing lookout nearby!

It was an afternoon of caching after a relaxing morning. Decided to do the trail of caches up to the top of Mt Pitt. Stop and go as we found the caches along the way, signing the log books. Thanks endeavour3 for putting these caches out - an enjoyable time was had. TFTC endeavour3
Spending some of the afternoon caching up to Mt Pitt and thinking we might have to dodge showers but none eventuated until we were heading back to our accommodation.
Saw a variation in the vegetation as we ascended and kept a lookout for bird life but not a lot spotted.
Thanks for the cache.
