Just had a lovely brunch date with kawienaila in cairns. We had a TB on us so we thought lets find a geocahce to put it in. TFTF Logs are littlw moist not terrible can still write on it! Happy caching everyone
Found it. I thought that it may have been washed away after the floods and its been awhile since its last found but its still there.
Northern escape Day 3On a longweekend trip from Mackay to Cooktown and back.Crazy, I know.Pulled up and a quick find was made.It would seem circle is not the only work done on this road.SL TFTC
I found this coming back from the lagoon in Cairns it was a cool find and the boat dock is loaded with mullits so if you want like bait bring you cast net. TFTC
We were on our way back to Cairns from chasing waterfalls to the south and it was the wish of one of the group to see a crocodile in the wild at some point during the trip.
As such, a slight detour down this road was made for them to take a look and hope.
Unfortunately for them, there were none to be found, but very fortunately for me, we ended up right next to a cache I had on my to-do list!
This traditional fills in a Jasmer hole for me - the most recent one, actually - and means that my grid is now clear from 2008 onwards.
With a short wander around and in all that was required to reach gz, I quickly spotted the cache and signed the log within before the rest of the crew drove up to collect me right on time!
Excellent result for me - and I think a lack of crocodiles was ultimately in our best interests!
Thanks to WhatsAMap for placing this one here all those years ago!

Headed north with Crew 153 and Fangsoki, chasing old caches, celebrating life. This was on our list and was an easy find today for us.
Thanks WhatsAMap for entertaining me at this location.

Pprime and Fangsoki arranged a trip to the Torres Straits to celebrate my upcoming 75th birthday, We stopped in Cairns for a day of finding older caches on the way home.
Fangsoki had found this one last October and he drove us out to fond it. It was Pprime who headed in to the bushes to search while I stood outside peering into the trees and offering suggestions and directions until I pointed to one spot which appeared to be the right spot.

1MinnieMoo and I raced to this one this next (see what I did there? )
We pulled up where we thought GZ was - but alas it wasn't 1MinnieMoo adjusted her position and we soon brought the prize to light. It was in good condition. We signed the log and replaced the cache as found.
A great little hide. This cache is currently the 915th oldest active geocache in Queensland. TFTC WhatsAMap

16/10/21 Find #5054
Fangsoki and I were doing the rounds of Cairns today, collecting predominately older caches. This one fit the bill, so we made our way here, aware there were to be drag races here tonight, but hoping it won’t have become too busy here just yet.
Parking the car, we got out and saw what we thought was the hide, only to realise it actually wasn’t. Having spied the much more likely spot, I then dashed around and managed to carefully extract it from its home - gee it’s snug through the opening!
Opening the cache it was nice to see an original logbook still in play.
With duties done we exited promptly. The area was just about to get busier.
Thanks for the cache WhatsAMap.

Wasn't too hard to find. Abit spooky in the dark. Especially high tide. Remember croc safety
Awesome hiding place.
Heads up. Bring the bug spray. Mozzie are hungry out here.

Quick find this morning, was going to leave a trackable but a muggle started rousing the dogs over the road so I left. Thanks for the cache.

Nice hiding spot - nice and easy for the geokids to locate and enjoy - have to use a lot of stealth though to get it!!

I was a little nervous about getting muggled but I was safe. Regretting looking at the clue because the clue made it too easy.
Never explored this way before so continued on from GZ and was excited to find what looks like a popular boat ramp down the end of the road. Very interesting TFTC great spot .
Quick find whilst dodging dengue mosquitoes! Generous size container. TFTC : )

Found this one today with my geodad. He made a quick find as soon as we got to the gz. Said he knew where the cache would be the minute we stopped the car. Second find like this one now. TFTC
I have been meaning to do this one for quite some time. Last one for the day with the kids. Clever hide.

Another day in Cairns, on our travels around Australia.
Watched a young muggle test out his skills at the circle work, gave him a 6 out of 10.
Cache was partly exposed, but added extra camo when returned.
Thanks for the cache, WhatsAMap.

It's not hard to see where the name comes from as you approach this area. I was lucky enough to be up here in Cairns for a 3-day caching mini-holiday when I just had to pick this one off the map.
Approaching the GZ we could hear the noise. Glad it's not in heavy residential. Needless to day, we had the obligatory muggle wander past at naught miles per hour gawking at us. Eventually.... he made it passed and was further distracted by - nothing in particular.
This allowed us to get on with the business of caching business [*D].
Eventually got on top of things and signed the log.
TFTC WhatsAMap Cache and container all in good order

Another caching day in Cairns but we are hoping that it will be a very special day in that we achieve our 4000th cache. Interesting location and clever name for the cache. Had to really dig to find the cache but eventually hit pay dirt.

Decided today not taking kids hunting with me anymore LOL miss 8 had a fit because she scratched her leg, the way she hobble around you would think a croc had just taken half of it!!! LOL Just got to from what the co ordinates said on top of if when miss 6 starts hopping around like crazy she had managed to stand in the middle of an ants nest ... that one needed medical attention oh well next time!!!!
