After a plod from Niddrie Quarry, (Earthcache and traditional caches there) this was to be the last of the day before hopping back on the Bus for home. Found WP1 without fuss and worked out the answer to the question to determine the final co-ordinates. A brief walk following the 'green' Wall to what I assumed was GZ. Read the clue, read the logs, stood back, looked. Then 30 minutes ensued where I just could not find the cache! Looked high up too (unwisely ignoring the clue but you never know) and hoped I would not get arrested or meanced by a low flying aircraft (gosh they are LOW). Mind you, no surprises in me not finding the cache. Anyway, back to WP1 to re-check my eyesight had not failed me. Nope, got that OK I reckon. Back to GZ, a bit of rattling around, nothing. Alas a DNF! I will watch upcoming logs and see if wiser Cachers can find this one, and if so, hop on the 903/475 Bus combination and try again!
After the Quiet Plodder's DNF log, I visited GZ, to find the cache missing. That's a few times now, so I think it's time for this one to come to an end. Sorry for those who tried recently, I'll leave this area cache free for a while now, in case someone else wants to hide one nearby.
went on my first ever geocache today with the kids. Couldn't find it and judging by previous comments, not so sure it's still there...will go for another look soon.
Went back on 13/2 and found a small magnet, but I'm afraid the rest is gone...

Found the clue, couldn't find the cache. Lots of empty cans here, though, I wonder if its been muggled?
6.25pm. Out and about with 80degrees, rewarding ourselves after a boring day doing houshold chores. This looks like the local spot for the lads to have a drink. Easy find, needed a replacement writing sheet and maybe a complete new case, Mr 80 came to the rescuel.

Found at 6.25pm while out and about with xambo4u. Had looked at this carefully so drove straight up the correct street for the clue. Walked the short distance to GZ and found the cache but no sign of the logbook and looks like muggles have been hanging around. Left a sheet of rainwrite as a temporary log - SL TFTC
Found the cache easy enough, only to find it empty?
No log sheet, no cache note, nothing, just the "appropriate container, with its markings intact.

Very Good Find,
I think you stumped my Grandfather and dad and me. I was wondering cause I never saw the sticker. As I was about to leave saw a magnet that had come out stuck to place of hiding. pulled it off had no idea then flipped over and saw sticker.
Best cache I've ever found.

Excellent container and a lovely little path. Had to wait for a muggle walking past to disappear before grabbing this one, but the 3yo swinging on the fence gave me an semi-inconspicuous reason to be there. Could not log as the container was completely empty Didn't have anything on me that would act as a temp log even.
v93 found it while having my car serviced nearby. TNLN. Did not log as there was no logbook. It occured to me later that the backside of the foil is the logbook. Nice hide. TFTC.
I visitd this one earlier in the day to get the information and scope out the final hide. Unfortunately a local muggle was mowing the lawn at the time, so I had to leave.
I returned later with my nephew and found the cache easily. Thanks

Well the girls were having quality time with some retail therapy so I headed off for some quality time caching.
This was a great start, a lovely little multi making us aware of a feature that like so many, we had driven past so frequently and not been aware of.
Owning a similar hide I soon had the prize in hand and did my best to make a mark in the soggy log sheet. Perhaps a fresh one and a plastic bag.
Our thanks to pwags for another great addition to the cache pool.
Cheers

Perhaps another name could be the white (elephant) wall depending on how you do the cost/benefit analysis like so many green projects where spending the hard earned taxes of the Australian taxpayer is the objective rather than a return on the investment. Who, me, a cynic and sceptic.

Offline for a short time for maintenance. Many thanks to ssmc4 for the report - yes, I agree, that counts as a find!
After battling the Nuvi, which insisted on taking me to this cache on the wrong side of the green wall, I finally got to the desired location where I could collect the necessary clue. Upon reaching the GZ I found the cache container OK, but unfortunately there was no log book inside it .
A pile of alcoholic beverage cans were located in close proximity so I put 2 & 2 together and came up with 15 (as I'm sure those drinkers did after consuming around 8 or 9 cans!).
I was then faced with a dilemma - should I claim a smiley even though I found the cache but did not physically sign the log book, or should I stick to the high moral geocaching ground and come back another day? I then referred to the EuDes Caching Manual, (Section 8, Subsection 8.2.3, Paragraph 4) and decided that this was a legitimate find.
I never would have noticed the solar panels without this cache, so many thanks to pwags for creating this interesting cache to let people know. There should be more of it , I say! (both solar panels AND geocaches).

When we arrived at the listed co-ordinates it was still raining.
As the bf parked the car, I collected the numbers in the dry and quickly did the sums.
Grabbing our umbrella we made the short walk to the cache.
Love the cache, its different and an easy find.
Thanks pwags for the cache.

We were keen to do this cache when we first saw this listed as it seemed like a very interesting concept. Our last time in this area it as off line so we were happy to see it come back on and we decided today was the day to come and grab it. We pulled up at wpt1 and collected the required information and as we headed off towards gz we had to agree that the reflective surfaces on the panels definitely help to make them more aesthetic for the residents. Once at gz the GPSr pointed us directly to the cache location and with no one around it was a nice easy find
Thanks pwags for the cache and for the information

Nice clever hide.
I did like the information you provided on the solar panels. From the other side of the Freeway I never appreciated that was what they were.
Found with no problems - It seemed that something didn't belong.

Almost a find.
Found WP1 then GZ easily. In fact, GZ was lying in the grass nearby in two pieces. Confirmed by the owner's sticker on the remains of the cunning container. Couldn't find the remains of the log book/sheet.
Sorry pwags, but she's gone. Muggled. Kaput. [xx(]

VERY clever hide! Really handy, just rode in on my bike straight off the path. Enjoyed it
Lovely idea. But the wall is yellow on the other freeway side.
I pointed out this structure on the way back to the airport after my visit to VSSEC with a whole lot of budding Mars walkers (and yes I said it was called the Green Wall even though it was Yellow). They pointed out to me that the angle of the solar cells was not optimal. Much geeky bus discussion was had but all agreed that to calculate the best angle of tilt in the winter, take your latitude, multiply by 0.9, and add 29 degrees. The result is the angle from the horizontal at which the panel should be tilted. You should really move it throughout the year but if you can't, the winter angle is the best spot to leave it.
All agreed that the engineer who designed this would have thought the angle here was crap wit a capital C. However, they probably got to go to a fancy cocktail function with free drinks, so it was not all that bad. They could in the end live with the crap angle, and even brag about it every time they drove past.
Clear skies (required), yeah, TeamAstro. [^]
Oh.... as a foot note, I should point out that both maccamob and I visited this and had to hang around while a Telstra guy ate his food and read the paper. Luckily his face was buried deep in his paper. The magnet is not sticking to the structure and the whole thing is just "there". Some maintenance is definitely required.
Nice.. cache had one of the magnets dislodged so could do with a touch up when next checked but not worthy of maint flag.
Thanks Peter!
Thanks Peter!
found 13:20 Saturday. Search took longer because I calculated the offset wrong, and was looking 15 metres away. Nice hide, thanks TNLN

What do you do when you're car's getting serviced in Keilor. Throw the bike in, look up GSAK, and away you go. This was a fun multi with a very clever hide. Thanks for the info and the effort setting this up. SL

Unfortunately we found this cache smashed near where it was suppose to be. Maintenance is needed ...
Would have been a pretty clever hide otherwise.

Found by Mary & David at 1405. We thought the description referred to the colour of the wall, then realised the double meaning. Loved the choice of container too. The freeway walls out this way (and in the eastern suburbs) are much nicer that the ones we have out Werribee way, which seem to be made of surplus packing cases and pallets. Our thanks once more to pwags.
Found at 1.50pm GAFF1. We are a bit lazy, so we dove around after TomTom wanted us to stop on the freeway - twice! Nice hide. Thanks pwags
This cache and a couple of others nearby have been on my save-for-when-I'm-in-desperate-need-for-a-cache-fix list. I wasn't totally in need of a fix today, but I'd just received my new GPSr toy and it needed to be tested out. Apparently it works! Mind you, a new toy doesn't mean you're going to look in the right place first time. I got there eventually; nice one! I was surprised to see red tag's name on the line above on the log sheet: fancy not quite meeting you in a place like this and a day like today! (Hi!) Thanks for the cache, pwags.

It was good to have the opportunity to visit here today as I had heard positive comments about this cache. I was also sick of TomTom "pinging" a warning every time I drove past! I grabbed the info and made my way to GZ through a beautiful arch of blossoms. Once there the clever hide was found quickly much to my relief.

First of eight cache finds for the day, i found this one at 09:40 after dropping my brother of at the airport. No trouble on gathering the numbers and off to GZ where the cache was soon in hand. Great effort on this one. Thanks pwags for the cache.
Lots of green here! The easy maths was done and the way to gz obvious. Once there the neat hide was found without any problems - well done and thanks pwags.
This one has been zooming by on the "radar" at 100 km/h for quite a while now and I figured it was finally time to knock it over. Once at WP1, I calculated the final location and proceeded to GZ where the very sneaky hide presented itself quite quickly at 17:25.
TNLNSL, although a couple of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks pwags.

After a few false starts the cache has finally been found.
We went after this some time back but one of the team is poor at math.
We did find another green wall in the side street before noticing the obvious mistake and recalculating the correct co-ords.
Thanks for the adventure (even though not intended!)
and the cache.

Went out for an after wrok cache with the newbie Blacktop Cruiser. We got to waypoint one just fine and got the info for the find. Initially i was getting a reading that just didn't seem right, then realized I needed to brush ip on my 1st grade math. After the correction, we headed for the cache. The coords were spot on, and the find and grab were made after waiting for some muggles to clear the area.

Deja vu? A really great hide and I liked this one even more than the "similar one"...
I quite enjoyed this multi - probably mostly due to the interesting bike track!! The GPS was having trouble keeping up with us, but as it happened we had to stop at the right spot anyway - and found the cache as soon as we started looking.
The way this one was hidden reminded me of a homerjay73 cache - not surprising as we had been finding them all morning.
Thanks for an interesting cache.

The final cache on my way to Bunnings in Sunshine (actually it's nowhere near on my way, but hey, that's what I told the missus).
I was parked very close to GZ, so when I'd collected the clues, it was nice to stroll back to the car and collect the cache. It was a very cleverly constructed cache too. Nice to see effort going into creating cache containers rather than the simplicity of a key hider (unpainted).
I was quite amazed by the fact that the glass panels are solar panels, so this was a worthwhile cache from two perspectives. Informational and cunning.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks pwags. If all your caches are like the ones I've found today, you'll be high on my hit list.

Oh my - what interesting information one picks up by being a geocacher - I wonder how many metres of freeway we'd need to power the whole of Melbourne . I can't help but think that, while it's green in one sense, that wall is quite an eysore in another - and that many colours other than green would make it less so! Anyway, after picking up the required info, I headed to GZ and, after missing the cache on my first pass, spent a few minutes examining nearby objects before returning and wondering how I could have been so blind the first time .
TNLN, but did take the TB

Drove all the way from Bendigo to get this FTF - not really. Happened to be passing on way to a dinner and it poped up on my Geocache Radar as still not found, so with a bit of time to spare (and a sister living nearby) thought we'd have a bash. Found the information at the first waypoint without any problems but I'm not sure your formula is 100%. Anyway, with a little bit of trial and error Geocache Sister quickly located the treasure - a neat hide. Found that our calculated GZ was spot on with a satellite error of 8m (only had complete coverage from three Sats). Well done pwags.
