Beautiful charted surroundings make a beautiful site however no cache in sight after quite a look around. Fire may have gotten to it?... No evidence though can't be sure without knowing exactly.

A boxing day outing had us exploring this area. We're up here visiting from Canberra for the Christmas holidays so wherever we go, we're finding 1 cache. As the kids are young (and new to geocaching), we couldn't attempt most of the caches in this area, but this one was perfect while following the trail around. Thanks for placing this cache. It was the highlight of our walk today. Always fun to find something no matter how old you are!

22-Dec-13
Nice cache, not too hard to find.

Bring insect repellent! Lots of insect repellent! ALL THE INSECT REPELLENT!!! one member of our group counted over 52 mosquito bites.

Other than that, great spot, easy walk with nice views. Fun Smile TFTC

Found the cache with a few mates after doing the awesome Mt Tibrogargan climb! Saw lots of goannas on the track so BEWARE!

Also, bring a new pen for cache. The one there has run out so we couldn't sign the log. But we did leave a photo Smile TFTC

Found with the group who hit Tibro with a vengeance today. It was good to hit the track around the base after scaling the monster.

Thanks for the cache, curtdog.

After making the climb to the summit and enjoying the views with Dav81, Angela & Dave, dahumbug, Team LJCC and Pappa Smurf 12, it was time to attempt the easier flatter journey around the mountain. Approaching GZ and what timing, a group of muggles! A small greeting was exchanged and then we patiently waited as they toddled off further down the track. Once they were out of sight we headed down the geotrail and it wasn't long until we had the cache in hand.

Thanks for the cache curtdog Big Grin

We got a small group together and make the climb on Tibrogargan earlier this morning, the climb up wasn't so bad, if a little hairy at times! The views spectacular!!

The journey down wasn't so bad until we hit the vertical decent! I let the team surge ahead and I lagged back while helping a team mate down some of the trickier bits. I managed most of the way with no problems, but there was one specific section that had a section jutting out in the middle of the rock wall, that I came down on the wrong side of. It was only after I got part way down that I realised there were no more hand holds and my foot holds were not the best. I kept looking for a hold and eventually turned to put my back to the wall to see if I could find the answer. Nope. "Um, guys? I'm stuck!" A male voice from above called out and within seconds, the man jumped from rock to rock, in his singlet and shorts, barefoot, without using his hands, found a place near me and held his hand out for me. I put a hand on his shoulder and jumped down to the rock below me, finally happy to get off that spot! I thanked the man and he jumped back up the mountain, put on his thongs (flip flops) and bound back down the mountain.

Where we gripped the mountain and scaled down its side, this man jumped down like a mountain goat, in his thongs, almost jogging down the steep cliff face!! It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen!

We walked the last of the steep decline and started along the level track towards the cache.

The level walking track was so welcome after the up and downs of the mountain!!

We were approached by some older lady muggles who asked us if we were climbing today. A quick conversation while standing at the Geotrail to the cache, the muggles were satisfied with our answer and moved on. We stood about until we saw them turn a bend in the track and then until we couldn't hear them anymore, then we followed the geotrail down to GZ and located the cache.

It's nice to be on level ground again!!

This was our third cache found today (after our trek up Mt Tribrogargan). A walk on a lovely track on a pair of legs that was just starting to get the wobbles from said trek. Geotrack to the cache made for a quick find by Nyssa and log was signed by all who hadn't found it previously. A nice cache find! tftc, Team LJCC Smile

This was the second cache while walking the full Trachyte Circuit. Walk the circuit in a anti-clockwise direction, when we got to the junction we just had a quick 240m walk up the other trail signed log then headed back to the junction again to continue the circuit. TFTC

After a wet trip around Tib thought we'd give Cooee a go ... too wet after realising it was a bit of a climb. GeoLiz spotted likely spot whilst I followed GPS. Big cheesy grin as she sat on the spot.

Lots of nicknacks. Left blue hippo tb and took whisle tb. Lovely walk even in the wet.

31-Mar-13
Found with ayepeacee on our morning hike around tibro in the gorgeous weather. We live close by and are lucky enough to be around the mountains all the time. The walk today was bright, fresh and meditative. There were a few others around the base and we were sure some were climbing to the summit but we couldnt see anyone up there. We considered changing our plan to climb to the summit but we werent really prepared. We will have to return for that. We didnt have much luck as we forgot the GPSr and were stuck using the iphone, so the coords were only getting us about 18m near the cache, so ayepeacee let his caching instincts take over and it was a short hunt after all.

Thanks for the cache. It is in good condition. ^^

After no success with cookie monster (rock climbers in the way) and gorilla (phone couldn't seem to decide on a location) I at least had some luck with this easy find, a nice stroll after getting down from the top. Left sharky tb. TheoreticalJazz

Easy find on the way back from a disappointing search for Cookie Monster. Took nothing, left a frisbee that I had found in the bush, obviously tossed from the top of Tibrogargan many months or years ago. TFTC

21-Oct-12
Our mission today, for those that accepted it, was to seek, find and log 6 Gorillas. Yes 6. In a single hunt. Our journey commenced at approximately 08:00 from the carpark with Iolanthek, T-Tech, membsec, bedmaker, TassieGirl13 and teamdfl (collectively we were going to be known as the 'suckers' as we considered ourselves Surprised ... oooh, Team "Gorilla" I like the sound of that. Good call T-Tech.Cool)

So, after four Gorillas, including three 'up there', we returned to terra more firma. Heading along the track and we picked up the baby of the bunch. Exactly where we knew it would be as we approached GZ. Captured Gorilla number five [^][^][^][^][^] Now that was a WAY lot easier then the previous ones.

Thanks for placing this cache, curtdog. Found in good condition.
{Overall find #1531}

21-Oct-12
T-Tech and I headed north today to meet up with P`, teamdfl, both halves of membsec, Tassiegirl13 and Bedmaker for an expedition to seek out some gorillas and their neighbours Smile

After finding 'Gorilla' and 'Plantman' at the summit, and doing the research for the new Earthcache, we crawled our way back down the mountain then took the very leisurely wander along the trail to this cache. At GZ the geosense kicked in and it was a quick find. Those of us who hadn't got it signed the log and we headed off to make our last find here at Tibrogargan.

TFTC, curtdog.

21-Oct-12
Today Team "Gorilla" consisting of P` (our intrepid organiser), membsec, IolantheK, Tassiegirl13, bedmaker, TeamDFL and myself, met up to bag a bunch of caches on and around Mt Tibrogargan.

After successfully finding Gorilla and Plantman we carefully descended the mount and worked our way around in a southerly direction.
This cache was not far off the track and was found without difficulty. All that hadn't discovered this cache before signed onto the log and we were off to the next cache.

The cache is dry and in good condition.

TFTC curtdog Cool

P.S. Mt Tibrogargan offers some great views bother towards west ascending and at the top looking east all the way to the coast, breathtaking, well worth the walk/climb. Make sure you have heaps of water though, with the temperature above 30 degrees and the trip we did all up and back then around the mount over 5.5 hours I went through 4 litres of water Red Face.

21-Oct-12
Great day out with PPrime, TTech, IolantheK, Tassiegirl13, bedmaker and TeamDFL.
After the strenuous climb for the previous caches of the day this one presented us with a pleasant walk, under the trees and on a relatively even pathway [^]. Despite some slipping and sliding moving from the path to the bush the cache location was quickly spotted (using as much geo-sense as GPS Wink. Log signed by those of us who hadn't previously visited and quickly on our way to the final challenge of the mountain.

We had a great day in the park visiting Cookie Monster, Gorilla, Plantman Geocache # 24, Baby Gorilla and then thinking they where not very far away did Cooee and Wild Dog Views.

We parked at the suggested rock climbers car park and soon made it to Cookie Monster. Down with the back pack and up the face we when. It took us two goes as the we thought we where being smart trying for more of a traverse but ran out of options so it was the straight up approach. We got to the little landing (a great place to sign the log) and realised we still had a bit to go so off we went and got to the area with the strap but still no cache so up higher we went. At this point perched on the next ledge we started going through the logs and photos and realised we had over shot it but should have seen it. More and more searching and it was looking like a DNF so we came down a bit and put the GPSr down with in 10cm of it. Relieved and then estatic to make the find. The current location is a little bit lower than the cache page hint. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC. Umm Cookies, I Like Cookies, Cookies, Cookies, Cookies. Fav pt awarded

We followed the rough track from Cookie Monster to the climb for Gorilla around the base of the rock until it ran out and then bush bashed down to the main track. The track up was steep. The well worn track had its pros and cons as you could clearly see the foot holds but some are a little slippery but manageable. The track reminded us of some of the NZ cache we have done where they take you a kilometre through the vertical. Once at the top we could see where others had searched but we could not turn up the cache. We then heard some one call out who caught us searching. He was a regular rock climber and had done some caching and confirmed it had recently been muggled as the contents had been all over the place where we were searching which was disappointing but at least the climb and views were great. We asked if he had found or knew how to get to Plantman Geocahe # 24 but he had not found it.

After the disappoint at Gorilla our uncertainly about going after Plantman Geocache # 24 changed to must find. The cache description sounded a bit hairy and hence our previous uncertainty. We found that other track (infact we came back on a different one). We carefully headed down and then got to a point where we looked to be within 15m but a bit high so we dropped down. A search did not turn the cache and GPSr reading was effected by the over shadowing of the rock. We got back up on clear ground and let the GPSr settle some more and headed off in a slightly different area and then saw the hide in a place made for a cache. Great views of the valley and the cliff face. With the signing duties done and the cache re hidden going down the mountain felt a lot easier. TFTC. Fav Point awarded.

With the disappointment at Gorilla we thought we should at least grab Baby Gorilla as it was not too far away. We soon got to the likely spot even though the GPSr suggested it was further away and followed a likely cache trail. At about 12m to go we saw a likely hide and soon had the cache in hand and were signing the log. TFTC

Today I was out cycling around parts of the Glasshouse Mountains. Smile

After being to the top of 4 different mountains today I was not up for another and it was getting late in the day. So a little walk around the base of Tibro was about all I could handle.

The cache was a quick find and is in good condition and dry.

Wow that was an awesome day at Mt. Tibrogargan. We arrived at about 8am
and where very keen if the climb we wanted to do is wet or dry. It was dry
and so we had a great 5-pitch climb up the mountain.
On the way back to the car I found this geocache as a little bonus.
Thank you for that.

Embarrassed as all hell!! I set of with my wife and geobrat, we walked the trail and came to a point where we disagreed on the next direction! my wife and geobrat following the Iphone and me with the dodgy GPS.......
Well one hour later, scratched, scraped, frustrated and annoyed we caught up with each other, wife and geobrat beaming from ear to ear...... cache found! so they escorted me back, cache in good condition, a couple of toys and stickers left, log signed and I followed my geoaces back to the car. TFTC and embarrassment.
We have a team mascot, its my wife's first attempt at knitting, We have called it Geof Rog. We will take pics with it at every cache.

Found this one ok thanks to a handy geo-trail, after a challenging haul up the hill with the geotoddler in his pram. 630 - With all the rain around the area of late, there was no way it would be possible to climb to the top of Tibro today. There were a few cars in the car park, and we met a couple of muggles taking photos along the track and heard some more further along. With some light rain falling and a stream of water running along the track, we were glad we had our geothongs on as we made it to the cache at 1:54pm. Left If's Web Wound GC and took the Lost Scouts GC. Cache in good condition. Had a look at the lookout along the way, definitely worth the short detour from the main track. That was a lovely walk in the bush. 'Someone' wanted to walk the whole circuit so off we went Razz.
You gotta wonder what some people think when they get dressed to go bushwalking. We arrived back at the cars to find a young woman in her pretty sundress, her sandals and a H-U-G-E red floppy hat Surprised- like the ones that were worn in the late 70's/early 80's!! Cache was found easily, log signed and cache returned to it's hidey hole. Great to see a large cache container in the bush Big Grin. TFTC

Well we would suggest NOT!!!!!!!
What a poor parody of custome service & staff manners where in display here...

This establishment definitely on my 'NOT recommended' list
