Found but it is totally ruined by water. The bags were totally full as was the container. Couldn’t sign so took a picture. A beautiful spot to visit but be careful of the blackberry popping up everywhere. TFTC
Found today on a family walk can not sign as its all full off water needs cleaning and new paper sorry we didn't have anything
Quickly found but the box was very filled with water. We got rid of as much water as we could but attempting to sign the log was no use. We placed a small amount of paper that's water resistant. Not sure if it will last to see the next person. Thanks for the cache. P.s what a beautiful place!
Cache Nr: 5432
The cache was quickly found. But there was water in the box and the logbook is soaking wet.
Thanks for the hide Quiri

Didn't hold too much hopes of finding this after seeing a series of dnf logs....but turned up here and systematically searched the likely spots, and found within minutes. Cache was full of water....and contents were soaking wet. I drained it and did my best to dry it out, but junior was eager to get back to the car, and I didn't have a replacement cache with me. Hopefully the next finder can help out with a dry log! But cache is definately still there....a tad confused by the lonely hint though?
Given there are four DNF logs before ours, we didn't hold out how but we tried. Still a no go.
Found it with our 5yo and 2yo. T4TC. GPS unsettled. Haven't been to the springs yet.
Decided to come out here for a look and was surprised at how busy it was despite the rain. Got to the general area and said to 'The Mr'... oh we can't go down there it's all taped off... to which 'The Mr' replied... nah we'll be right! He talked me into it but I got part way down the we track and there were too many blackberry bushes for me so I turned back but not 'The Mr'... oh no he kept on going while I played lookout. To be fair he didn't have to look for too long because the GPS led him right to where he needed to be and the next minute he's holding the cache up in the air for me to see. Such a beautiful place to visit. Thanks for bringing us here
It probably is time to move the cache to a more accessible hiding area because the blackberry is really taking over.

Out to the blue springs for a look and obviously a cache. Hundreds of people here today so a little stealth required this time. Cache is all good and fine
Well after a pretty uneventful 1st and 2nd, today I hatched a plan to bring my family out to the Te Waihou Walkway. I knew the place would be heaving with tourists but I needed to get out of the house. Of course cars were parked all the way up the road but it didn't take long before we were on the track and headed this way. 20 meters out from gz and the challenge was clear so down we went. We didn't note any access restrictions, signage or barrier of any kind - we also didn't see a track down.... The hint made it pretty clear where we'd need to search but it wasn't easy. Growth - particularly the black berry - made this a risky endeavor but eventually the cache was in hand! Container and log are both in good condition - TNLNSL. Cheers Fat Fish TFTC
As per Alligatornz the area here is taped off and therefore I do not want to enter it, it might be worth the CO moving this to another suitable location.
"un attempted" - it might pay to re assess this cache location as the people who look after the land clearly do not want people going down to GZ, the former access path has been planted and tape stretched across the entrance point - given the rules of cache placement this would tend to indicate its time to archive this cache guys
Out for a walk with a tramping group from Tauranga. Managed to get away and bag this cache while the party had a rest. Easy find, all good. Many thanks for placing a cache at this lovely spot.
Went the wet route to cache and the dry route out. Lovely day for caching and fab spot. TFTC
Have eyed up these two caches on the Te Waihou walk for quite some time and decided that today was the day for them! Had a bit of work to find this one but we got there - and yes I got wet feet, TFTC
We found this geocache during our great NZ trip with our dad GlobeCacher.de, please see his log for details.

During our NZ holiday trip we visited a lot of interesting places, one of them being the Blue Spring. A really nice spot!

Found this one today on our trip to see this wonderful stream. As other loggers note, this area is now becoming very well known and a popular place to visit, so there are a lot of muggles but not where this cache is which took a little getting to, I wonder how different it was on placement? No bush bashing required though, could pick the route and could see the hint item very clearly, an excellent specimen.
Cache was found in great condition, thanks to camlia for replacing this, much appreciated cache maintenance. This is a lovely walkway, which we were coming to anyway, but nice to be able to collect a could of geocaches while we were here. TFTC.

Our second little hike for today was hiking the Te Waihou walkway from north to south and back again. We were led through a very nice landscapes with beautiful and interesting spots.
Near the GZ it was not so easy to get to the exact place, but we managed it and finally found the cache at once then at 1 pm.
Thanks for the cache.

It was easy to see GZ from the lookout above, but Not quite a DNF because I did go to GZ but flagged searching upon arrival because of blackberry, bugs & bees, lol , & was really starting to itch & sneeze so made a quick retreat to car for my antihistamines! Really enjoyed the memorial & big Redwoods. So Thanks to the birthday girl anyway!

Found with no problem, very nice surroundings. What a wonderful place!
As we have been working for 3 months at blueberry orchard nearby, this was one of short weekend trips to escape from work environment:-)
Thank you for the cache and greetings from two Czechs!

What an absolutely beautiful part of New Zealand. We loved exploring this place and took so many photos. We laughed at an Australian slipping on his butt but we both managed to do the same thing too. Thank you for bringing us here. Fav point from us

Circle around a little. Until I notice that one tree stands out from the rest. Bingo. Nice dry cache. Left some toys. And a tb. this is a nice walk. Have enjoyed it. Tftc
Found with a whim and a prayer. Luckily I recalled the hint from memory because there was no cellphone coverage. Thanks for the cache

Found with NZ Birder. Well, she found it really, I wasn't intrepid enough... Thanks for the cache.

Found with RJM1234. My phone gps had me all over the place. But after some searching (with the help of the hint) I was able to find it. I picked up a TB. Tftc
Happy Birthday yay!! After a little hunt around and going with gut instinct came up with the goods. All good here, clean and dry. Many thanks on the placement. TFTC
We looked for quick a while, and did not find. Nice walk along the river though.
Helped to replace this cache with camlia with permission from the CO. Walk was very very busy.
I have been in contact with the CO and I will endeavour to replace container and log over the weekend.
Had an idea of general location, but not having a GPS (yet) and no phone coverage we needed to think outside the square. Once we located correct area by using the age of the cache as a guide. We found it very easily. Cache is water logged so could not sign log but have pic as proof. I have sent a messege to CO about it. I am willing to replace and look after the cache if need be as I don't live too far. The Waihou is a favourite walk of ours and have done it yearly since the kids were toddlers, had heard it got advertised to the tourist market, what a shame!!! Would have seen about 300 people on the walk, with over 150 crowding to see the spring and swim in it(yuck), most only going to the spring and turning back, cars backed upway down the road, crazy and it was a rainy late afternoon walk for us. Previous years we would see about 30 people max on a beautiful day.
Found a very very wet cache. Photo evidence as could not sign log far too wet. Had to hunt around abit until mum thought of something that led us to the correct place, then found easy. Such a lovley place, however it is crawling with muggles now. Never was this busy and have done this walk loads of times. Not much chance of being muggled where this cache is however.
Plenty of choices for this one and maybe not as indicated by the 'additional hint'. Just a matter of persevering until the cache was in hand. Not able to sign the soggy logbook
The cache really needs some attention it is soaked through and also the travel bug logged as being inside was not in it I will notify the bug owner separately. New log book and baggy would be advised.
TFTF my first cache in quite some time and my first time introducing my mini cacher to the sport, looking forward to many more with my wee man.
Was unable to sign the log book as others have said it is very wet and my pencil wasn't playing the game.

1489 Yep log book is very wet. Had a pen that would write on it but needs replacing.
Found on way back from viewing the stunning springs. Watched others COOL off but not so brave ourselves. Did have a drink though. Loved the philosophy espoused nearby. Followed trail to cache. Log still sodden. TFTC
Lovely walk along the Te Waihou walk.. found the cache fairly quickly thanks to the trail in the long grass. My son's first find! Shame about the wet logbook. Off for a swim now. ☺
Found It BUT ABSOLUTELY SOAKED and didst have anything to replace. Left a animal toy thing but I think it needs replacing.
WATCH OUT FOR THE CUTTY GRASS AND SPIKY BLACKBERRY PLANTS.
(Have a cool swim)

Easy find, helped by the trail in the grass.
Unfortunately the cache has got wet (even the log book in the plastic bag) so we weren't able to record our name in the sodden book.
Suggest a friendly geocacher coming behind us brings a new log book, plastic bag and pen/pencil.
Great walk, beautifully clear stream.

A find on the way out of a long walk and swim along the Waihou walkway. We came in from the Leslie Rd end and went up did the loop track and came back. It was a reasonably quick find but is saturated as previously mentioned.
The kids and my husband had a swim in the refreshing 11 degrees water! There were many other people equally crazy also. Tftc.

Came out for an afternoon walk I was amazed at how busy it was here today carpark was busy with people coming and going luckily for me it's sheltered from muggles eyes down at GZ nice quick find although as previously mentioned the log book is saturated.
After working close by I met up with a friend and we explored the walkway and I introduced the Albatross to geocaching. This took us for a wander and the Albatross got there first to find a wet cache. TFTC
An awesome as walk so beautiful.. will come back and float down it during summer Books pretty wet.. dropped a trackable off too.
Thank you croberton for offer to replace log. Fat Fish is overseas at the moment and cannot get to the cache for a few weeks.
Caching in New Zealand on a tour. Thanks for the fun, puzzles and hides from a Californian cacher. All logs marked with a "Circled GB". Cache was very wet.

Found while on a night trail run with Nova and other crazy night runners. A quick scramble down the bank and cache was in hand. The log book was a bit damp, and I throw my pen at Nova which landed in the ground, so not an easy one to sign the log book! Then we found the easier way to get back to the top of bank.
Will return during day light at some stage to enjoy the scenery. TFTC.

Found after a bit of a hunt. Log and cache are very wet, both need drying out. Today was not the day for drying.

That was awesome, it wasn't difficult and was our very first find. The log book was pretty much just mush so we couldn't fill it in... but still very exciting.
Decided to stay the night in Tirau to get to this trail as early as possible. Great walk! Found a easy but wet way to GZ and located the wet cache. TFTC
Visiting NZ and my brother mathiasmadsen from the other side of the globe... so let's catch a few caches along the way TFTC
#271. Up this way for school holidays. We have driven past this spot a few times, seen all the cars parked here and wondered what the walk was like. Today we decided to find out! Came from the Whites Road end so had a gentle walk through farmland alongside the rushing stream.
Surprised to find this cache so far off the main trail, but at least this meant the area was screened from muggles somewhat. Followed geotrails but still both of us sustained injuries from blackberry and cutty grass - ouch. I would not recommend children go after this one.
Suggest when CO comes to perform maintenance ( to replace sodden log), consider resiting slightly out of the blackberry which has obviously grown up since the cache was placed. My terrain rating 2/2.5 rather than the 1.5 listed. Sorry for the moan, but I have quite painful stratches ... tftc!

Went after this cache with CoopsNZ. Both ended up with blackberry injuries and CoopsNZ was very grumpy. Log book very soggy, will need replacing.
Took a bit of bush bashing, and tried to hide from muggles at the same time. Logbook very soggy. Beautiful place though cheers

We did a little hike along that special nature-phenomen. Of course we also wanted to find a cache here. That's why we we were fighting along our paths through this jungle area here. Finally we found what we were loooking for!

Found the route of least resistance on the way down and found a little geo trail right to the cache. Lots of people out and about today. Lovely spot.
Eventually found the geo trail to GZ and cache all good apart from the too wet log book so added some more paper in another plastic bag.
