Thanks Tararua Turtle for the cache. Its #2023 for us. We found your cache on Sunday 4 August 2024. Searched for a while and was starting to vent myself but the previous logs are full of clues so finally I spied it. FP from us today

Unlike a lot of this type of multi, I had no problem collecting the data required for this one. Everything matched what it was supposed to, and all the number made sense. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the cache at the time, and so took the opportunity today to get in and have a look. I started in the wrong area, and once I knew that I went to the right area and had what I needed in hand soon enough. All good here.---Thanks to Tararua Turtle for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

Found Smile(Or should i say, reached, since i found it a while ago hah)Thanks searchSteve for lowering it to allow us shorties to get it Smile

This cache had definitely creeped higher than it's terrain rating would suggest... so I took a tool to reach it and left it in reach of a normal adult. Happy ANZAC Day!

12-Apr-24
Waaaaaaay too high for me to reach if the thing i can see is it (which given a previous photo, the clues, and that its an out of place object make me definitely think it is)

Cachehilsen fra Ellen Sch, NorgeMe and MrV sr have come down to Australia and New Zealand, -an old dream has finally come to an end. Team Eika and Ingsve have also traveled with us on this trip.We have been traveling cross-country for a month, and the goal is to end up in Adeleide and mega-event on the leap year. We have especially looked for old caches, to fill jasmer'n, for a couple of pieces, and for the other two of us who have started to think about reviewing more. The vast majority of them showed up at their places, sometimes we had to search a bit, but we were usually lucky in the end. There were also some DNFs.We have mostly logged in with the common nickname N4 (ingsve, Von sr. TeamEika and Ellen Sch), but our own nicknames are also used.A big thank you to all you CO's for laying out and maintaining your caches. Without their work, we would never have been able to make a living with this hobby.Always nice to have a new smiley face on the map.Cache greetings from Ellen Sch, Norway

As a once in a lifetime holiday, this year we are traveling for 7 weeks to Vietnam, Bali, Australia and New Zealand. In Australia we meet Ellen Sch and MrVon sr and Ingsve to visit these last two countries, so here we cache together. We signed the log with N4. Now we have solved many caches so we have a large number of solved coordinates. But we are interested in all types of caches, so if you receive a log, it means that we have visited your cache. We haven't quite decided where we're going, but we'll probably let the weather decide for us. We want warmth because in Norway it is now freezing. We will stay for about 2 weeks in Australia and 2 weeks in New Zealand and we will end the trip with the Mega event in Adeleide on 29 February. So thank you very much to all of you who make it possible for us to travel around finding caches. On March 6, we set course for Norway again. There are extremely nice people everywhere and we are welcomed, we thank you very much. Thanks to our cache friends for good company on the trip.

This took me a while but I was determined to find it. After looking at the exact place this cache was at least twice, I finally put my hands on it. My eyes were not playing ball today.

Been a bit since we found our last multi cache. Mixed one one of the questions up but soon fixed and found the Nicely hidden cache! Now home to clean the poopy car.

Very happy to finally get a smiley on this one. Solved puzzles awhile ago but this is a very busy area and there always seemed to be muggles here when i came to find it cache, but not this time. After a quick search of the area i soon had the cache in hand and the smiley. Tftc

An excellent wander and chance to tie in with other caches. Nice final too, thanks.

I had completed this multi some time ago but not found the cache. Left it for a dot day which just happened to be today. Found at 8.30am. Few muggles around as this can be very busy! TFTC.

20-Mar-21
Not sure which part of the morning made this so hard, I hope it was more that the satellite was having a good wiggle in her annual clean as the gps was wandering and had me far enough away the clue made no sense.
Thankfully on giving up my ponder I wandered in the right direction and everything clicked into place.

Visiting Palmerston North for the weekend as our daughter is performing in a circus show-Ithaca. Enjoyed a leisurely morning walking round the centre of town collecting some smileys. Got the final coordinates and arrived at GZ, lots of options, but having read previous logs one stood out! So a quick grab in between muggles and the log was signed. Thanks

Yay face changing from blue to yellow, such a happy feeling. Being walkabout and with no one about, had another think about this one at the cache site. A ‘ahem’ moment with ‘what about..’ and yippee cache soon to hand. Fav given.

OMG It is here. Now this is a clever hide. Thus it's getting a favourite point for something so large in an urban environment. Thank you.

03-Oct-20
I've had a terrible few days with technology misbehaving and an oppresive workload.
So I finished work late, by my usual Saturday standard, and decided I'd have another go for this one on the way home, especially as the CO has confirmed recently it is there. This is my third visit here and is the 2nd DNF of four today adding to my frustration.
It was confirmed to me since my last visit that the cache is here, but I must be in the wrong place as there's nothing here!

28-Sep-20
Avery pleasant walk around the local area getting all the relevant details to solve this puzzle. Hubby and I tried and tried again looking to find for this cache, with no luck. Will try again another day now daylight saving has arrived.

21-Mar-20
Second visit and a lot quieter than when I completed the multi, but unfortunately the same result - a DNF. Dayem

04-May-19
I had arranged my weekend in order to attend a Star Wars Day themed Geo-event in Ashhurst this morning, which meant that I found myself in Palmerston North this afternoon with a little spare time. Having had 2 previous failed attempts at finding the final, I thought I'd have another go at it to get rid of a blue frown on my Map.

I was able to park right next to GZ, and then spent the next 20 minutes having another exhaustive search of the locale. On a hunch I checked out a potential hiding spot and my heart leaped when I spotted something that could have been the cache. But on trying to reach it from both above and below I couldn't get near it so foolishly wrote it off as something that was supposed to be there and went to meet up with a friend.

On discussing it with him, he gave me a nudge that what I had spotted was worth further investigation, so I returned to GZ once again, bringing with me a 7 year old TOTT who may have been able to get to the object with a bit of a boost from me. Plan A turned out to be a dud, as I certainly didn't want to damage said TOTT, so I left him happily playing with some nearby water jets to dash back to my car and grab another (more mechanical) TOTT with which I was finally able to secure the cache.

The log is in good nick, although the container itself seems to have suffered some damage in the recent past. Having completed the appropriate caching administration, the whole thing was replaced in the location I found it, albeit at a far more reasonable and accessible height.

Nice to be finally able to turn the Blue Frown into a Yellow Smiley on this cache, and thank you for placing it in the first place.

15-Apr-19
Taken 1 year and 4 or 5 attempts but finally got this pne knocked off tftc

11-Mar-19
you obviously didn't search *every* conceivable hiding location, Mr [@TwigNZ](http://coord.info/PRPHK6E) ... Wink
Cache is still in place, although it looks to have been dropped and the container is cracked.
I will see if I have a suitable replacement in my stash.

09-Mar-19
I had a go at getting this one before xmas. I found everything I needed to get to the final location, but couldn't find the final cache itself. Today I found myself in Palmy centre with a bit of time on my hands so thought I'd take another look.

In spite of spending 20-odd minutes searching every conceivable hiding location I could think of, I still drew a blank.

I'll add this to my list of caches to try again for at some stage.

02-Jan-19
Gathered the required info and with all the stars aligned the cache was soon located. Many thanks for this multi.

Got some likely looking coords but had a good look a gz but could not find.

After a solved Puzzle, a trad, two CITO's attended and two letterboxes located, it was time to stop for lunch. Once that had been attended to, I asked the others if they could assist me in locating a tricky little number that had stumped me on ttwo previous occations. Despite not having the final coordinates loaded on my phone, they had it in hand in less time than it took someons to make me my (by now much needed) coffee! So glad to get this one off my list - it was fast becoming a nemesis cache. TFTC. Now onwards to the final letterbox....

My track record with multi caches is not flash so maybe that has been a reason for me not getting around to having a go at this one despite it being on my "must do soon" list ever since I became aware of it. Today, I wanted to put things right and I set about my quest in a determined manner. I took the required degree of caution as I made my around the varied and interesting locations.

I soon produced some coordinates that made sense and which the checksum was happy with. I made my way to ground zero in pursuit of the "sneakily hidden" cache. I actually looked in the correct location five times. Twice, "cache blindness" thwarted me and twice I thought I could see it but wasn't close enough to reach it. On the fifth go, I had it all sorted.

Thanks, Tararua Turtle. A classy cache like this deserves, and gets, a favourite point.

Found with my mum Gr33nslime and perhaps my dad JimmyNZ. I was either in the car seat supervising from the back, in the front pack supervising from the front, or in the pram, supervising from knee height! Mum is trying the mass logging thing with GSAK hence the really general log entry![^] Thanks for the cache!

# 960 Have had my eye on the couple of multi caches in the square and decided today, with JimmyNZ and DangerSAM that this would be the day we tackled one of them. We wandered around in the drizzle collecting the information, checking out the interesting additions to the square - being an ice skating rink and a snow globe! Random! Info was easy to find, and i only got one muddy shoe!

The final location was bereft of people as it was a Saturday evening and past the brain rackers bedtime. The clue did not add any value as the coords lead us straight to the location, and were bang on mind you. Despite this it still took a good five minutes or so, with two (or three) pairs of eyes, to make the find. A change in elevation helped spy the container!

All good inside, nice and try and tidy. Was larger than I was expecting for a busy urban hide. Glad to see that this version has been around since 2011, and owes that to good cacher discipline!!! So I made sure no one was looking when I tucked it back. Thanks Tararua Turtle for a great cache, and a very good hide!

29-Apr-17
It was a very wet dizzily afternoon today and we almost did not get out the door to cache. Glad we did as this multi cache was a cool little adventure to do. I had another dot day to get rid of and managed to convince Gr33nslime to come alone in the wet with me, far from the comforts of home. I did not have to convince DangerSAM as he does not get a vote in the family yet, he was coming anyway.

Got to the square and I guessed a park down the bottom would be a good place to start. With DangerSAm in his DangerPack, umbrella up, GPS on, printout and pen in hand we set out for a quick walk about. Despite the poor weather there was a lot of people hanging around the square today. I do not understand kids who will gladly use the ice skating ring in the rain and get wet. Weird logic to me.

Anyway the way points were easy to get to and I appreciated the items that the CO had chosen since it brought to my attention to certain aspects of these monuments (which i'd passed by often) that i'd not noted before. Before long we had the final numbers for the last co ord and were upon the hide location. I was floundering around and it was actually Gr33nslimeho made the discovery here. Clever hide and well suited to this environment.

Very surprised how long this cache has been here and no wonder it was a great little cache to do. Thanks for placing it and maintaining it.

19-Feb-17
After overnighting near Feilding for a friend's 40th, I came into town for breakfast and to see the sights. I took the opportunity to explore the beautiful square. The final had me quite flummoxed despite noticing that the hints put me in the correct general location. After about 25 mins of visually searching and prodding in between muggles I finally spotted the well hidden cache very close to where I had looked several times previously. Sigh. Great hide, and wonderful multi. TFTC

08-Jan-17
Solved the clues yesterday but with lots of muggles floating around GZ it was hard to retrieve the cache without looking suspicious. Came back on a quiet Sunday morning with a clearer idea of what to look for and found the cache within a few minutes. Had lots of fun doing this cache. Love getting out and wandering around Palmy. TFTC.

15-Nov-16
We had wanted to do this multi cache for some time now, but thought it would be a multi that would take a bit of time, today we had the time so why not give it a go while the weather was behaving itself rain kept away for the whole time lucky us. Didn't take us too long before we had gotten to Ground Zero and not many muggles around so it was a quick park up left my friend in the car double parked while I grabbed the cache signed the log and placed it back where it was found just before a muggle came around the corner. Thank you for placing this multi here and giving us a smilie for the day. TFTC

16-Sep-16
To be honest, my final co ordinates were incorrect. So while I was heading to the wrong location after visiting the library, I noticed a few things that were mentioned in the hint along the way. So returned on Sat morning to check out. Found it . My data collecting skills not too flash, but finding cache by chance -what a fluke. Thank you for the walk, the awesome cache and hiding spot.

29-Aug-16
Solved this last weekend and made me way to the final location only to find it to be a very inconvenient time to search as it was muggle central. Decided to try before work this morning and this time not a person to be seen. Cache blends in very well and I almost missed it. Great multi and cache. Tftc

Woohoo this was really annoying me I kept going back to the same spot but couldn't find it. Recommend doing this in daylight not night! Tftc

23-Jul-16
Very early start to the day, 4.30am wake up and leaving the house just after 6.30 fill the tank pick up sunju and we are off, our main goal today was to grab some multi's and ? caches that we both hadnt found, and a couple of standard ones finishing up around 5.30pm it made a very long day, we walked what felt like many kms getting lost/answers. - very well hidden with cache in good order - didnt take to long to sort while most people are still waking up Smile tftc

23-Jul-16
Solved quickly and put the final collect on hold whilst working on Waypoints for another cache. Once in the nearby area we slipped in the final step for this one and soon had it in our (out caching with Marisa&Kaleb) hands. A very tidy wee hide. Too early in the morning for too many muggles being around so had it logged and replaced in no time and then back to more Waypoints. TFTC

05-Apr-16
Ok I found it for reals this time! Nice spot, cheesy hint. Cheers for the cache hahaha

07-Mar-16
Upon further inspection we may have found the end to another multi cache in the area. We couldn't retrieve the cache so we logged it to come back later. Sorry if this confused you guys!

06-Mar-16
Stopped by today on the way home from Church.
Not sure what/where the last cacher found, but the cache is in its normal location. I retrieved it easily, and without needing any "tool".

06-Mar-16
I note that the container has some damage (possibly been dropped?) And has a chunk missing from the bottom of it and a big crack up the side. I fear that another drop may split the container in half...

06-Mar-16
Appreciate the Etherlord Clan's visit and report back.
I'm headed to Palmyville at the end of the week so I will do a maintenance visit and prepare to replace the cache.
POTATOESnz's log is a bit mystifying. Certainly, no tool is required to make the find on this cache. Unless of course you refer to your brain as a 'tool'.

Happy caching folks.

05-Mar-16
Found it, couldn't log it as cache is jammed and we were unable to retrieve it with the "tool"

We sat down and figured out where each way point was before we started so we weren't back tracking all over the place. Found all the info we needed easy enough then onto final. Surprised it was outside of the square. Took awhile to find as we assumed we were looking for a micro oops. Looked back at listing and saw it was a small so re thought the hide and came up with the cache. All n all a well put together multi tftc

We decided to give this a go after visiting the library for the Reel Earth film festival there! We loved the walk around the city then got to the final co-ordinates and hunted for ages!! In fact we were just about to give up when I finally spotted it. Great hiding spot Smile Thanks for the cache! Very enjoyable Smile

Popped by final GZ to check on cache. All in order, and cache in situ as originally hidden.

10-Nov-15
This is not my 1st time looking but probably my 4th or 5th so thought I better claim a DNF. I circled GZ a kajillion times while carrying Mr 11mo & pretending to talk on the phone all the while keeping an eye out for muggles and looking for potential hiding places. Can't have been thorough enough as I left empty handed. This one is really frustrating me so it might be time to phone a friend...

31-Oct-15
Finally logging this one after many a furtive sortie around GZ - I don't know how I didn't see it earlier as I have looked in that specific area several times, however the last few weeks I have been waiting for someones regurgitated food to be washed away by the rain before having a closer look. Thanks for the multi Tararua Turtle - well deserves a FP.

All good here, TFTC

It literally took Miss Swiss 2 mins if that to find! So much for my first couple of visits. I even stood in the library today checking out likely spots. She obviously had the geoeyes on today. I was so ridiculously close to it on my first visit, maybe if it was daylight I would have got it then Wink

Thanks for the great multi and the exercise in finding the final.

Gathered all the waypoints during the day & went back in the dark to have a look but no luck.

Loved following all the clues and we were definately in the right place for the final find but no luck! We hunted for ages too. Maybe this one needs checking?

30-Nov-14
We visited all the waypoints last weekend to gather the information required for the final coordinates, then scoped out GZ without success. A visit to the adjacent bookshop today afforded me an excuse to search again; needless to say the cache was found exactly where it was meant to be... I swear I looked there last week!!!! Thanks for the interesting multi, TT; we enjoyed the wander around The Square.

Found and solved with Tommygun9 last year, but didn't have my one user name. Finally was in the area and found it quiet so took the opportunity to sign the log book for myself. Thanks for this multi

On the way north so spending some time in PN having another go finding caches that proved elusive to me on previous visits and completing puzzles and multis I solved or started. This was the third stop. There were too many muggles around last time I tried to find the final. This morning was a good time. It still took a good five minutes to zero in on the well disguised cache. Took GC. TFTC.

We had about an hour to kill before having to get the bus to Wellington. Unfortunately we had been dropped of very close to WP2 but hadn't associated this with the multi. After a traipse across town found ourselves back again (and again on way to bus station). Other stages soon located and we are now a little more knowledgeable about Parmerston North.
Final cache location could have been problematic but still early-ish in the day. Pleased to have located this fairly quickly it helped having taken a different viewpoint.
Fav. point for the hint which really helped in such a location.

Worked out GZ earlier in the week but couldn't spot cache on the first visit - too many muggles around. Returned today for a second look and spotted it. Nice hide. TFTC.

Yay.. Did all the waypoints months ago but couldn't find the cache, as too many muggles around when we came before. 2nd time around was nice and quiet and allowed us to hunt nice and easily. TFTC! Smile

Finally found this one after many visits to the site. I knew, living locally, I would get this one eventually. Very well hidden.

Gathered the clue on the way through to Wanganui for the cuban festival, but could not locate the final. On the way back through we had some time, so went back and hunted. Success. Nice hide, and can be discreet if you wait til everyone looks the other way. Great bike rack - have not seen one like that before. TFTC

Have tried for this one a few times but it continues to elude me. I won't be phoning a friend yet but it's getting close. Must be well hidden.
