A 2.5km walk in to collect this archived cache… probably shouldn’t do it in summer though…
Unfortunately water has gained entry to the container and logbook, so it is saturated… and because I’m carrying my hike pack, I’ve got nothing to help it out…
I’m glad I could find this cache today… it’s great that Wingaap continues to provide enjoyment for those who know where to look…

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I took a morning walk in northern Mount Coot-tha Forest accessed via Bardon. It was a short 3.5 km walk along the Quarry Trail and Kulgun Circuit, and we saw a nicely coloured goanna and enjoyed a few views of Brisbane CBD.
As we took a walk around the trail, I remembered that there were a few unfortunate archived causalties of geocaches that may still be here. Hence, we took a detour up the peak of the hill, and this archived cache was a reasonably quick find. There was a very small amount of water inside the container, but otherwise, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Wingaap for the cache placement, and sad to have seen another of the CO's geocaches to have gone. Not only was this a cool location, but it was also a historic oldie 04/2008 hidden cache that was one of Queensland's 1000 oldest. Cache was put back to where it came from.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.
Further along our walk, this was where we spotted the large goanna - I hadn't seen one of these before with the coloured patterns, so that was rather special for me.

Here Piggy, Piggy,Piggy….
Out with Pprime for a spot of morning caching today before we were to head south fort a fun evening with mates, and he had a list in mind of caches he had been wanting to get for a while now, but always has things get in the way of actually finding them. Of course when he mentioned which caches were on today’s target list, there was going to be no complaints from me, I’ve been meaning to knock these off my own list for quite some time now too. Not to mention a couple of them had now fallen into my hands, so it seemed a good opportunity to do a maintenance check on those.
Having grabbed the other cache in this spot on our list first, we then made our way around and up to this one. It’s times like this I realise my fitness could use some work, so it’s probably a good thing I have a thirst for particular caches to help with that! It’s probably also a good thing that peak summer hasn’t yet hit, especially as we had come ill-prepared without water.
Despite all the up required, this really is quite a lovely and peaceful area - we didn’t pass another soul at all along our journey here today, and it felt a good sense of achievement once we’d made it to the top and made our find.
Then it was time to continue the circuit and begin our down, and that first part of the down is certainly quite the doozy. I had wished at this point that I had worn my proper hiking shoes rather than runners, as there were a couple of times I slipped, but did manage to catch myself. We decided we had taken the right approach on this circuit, to go clockwise around, as it did seem it would’ve likely been slightly harder in reverse.
Thanks for the cache wingaap. I had been here before for a couple of other caches, but not ventured through this nice area so far until today.

Out this morning for an extended maintenance run, and now time for a few finds - targeting the remaining caches by this CO that I have not yet found, while I still can. Next up here, along with the intrepid 1MinnieMoo we aimed for this one after finding it's mate nearby - reckon we got the order right going there first and continuing clockwise - the hill up to this point was a real heart starter, but coming down the other side I was glad not to be going up there. The views were a little hazy, but you can see a fair distance from GZ (good time to catch your breath again). Convenient rocky outcrop to sit on, although I checked the wrong one first my partner-in-crime spotted the prize quickly. All good at these.
Thanks Wingaap for entertaining me at this location.

Unable to maintain.
Ive adopted out other caches only to have them flicked on to someone else.
Archiving rather than burdening others.

Whole family out for a lockdown walk with two puppy - hard work getting up the hill a few slips from the youngest - took a while to locate but worth it with a travel bug inside - thanks
Enjoyed a walk in the Bardon Bushland with friends. Found all caches easily today which was a nice change. Noticed in the book that someone from BCC saved the cache from a fire (probably a burn off) a couple of years ago. Took a tb and left one. Tftc
That was a very steep climb to the top! When we arrived at the top of the hill, the wind was roaring and the trees were really moving around us.
Fortunately it was a quick find, and then we decided to take a slightly different route back down which had more graded track.
That was a really lovely walk and a great opportunity to get out and enjoy some fresh air.

My gps bounced off the trees a bit, went completely the wrong way for a bit. Tftc.
Pretty good hiding spot if I do say so myself my mum found it before me bit of a god at this game
Found on our geo-doggo’s birthday hike. In the crazy isolation times, it’s nice to be outdoors and still feel connected. Hands sanitized before and after touching cache!
Out with Geopup getting our daily exercise, and picking up any caches that pop up in our pathway. Of course exercising safe sanitising practice as we go.
Another easy find on this gorgeous morning, I was up this way last week and must have walked straight past this one … I didn't realise I loved these hills so much!!
Thanks for the cache Wingaap, all is well with it.

Afternoon walk here. Brooke a sweat on the way up to this one.

Council have done some works in the area. They may have disturbed the cache or maybe I stopped looking too soon. There was no sign of the cairn either
Quite a good hike to get to this one but geokids and geomut made it without too much trouble. TFTC
That was a fun walk. Lovely quiet spot up here and no-one around. All is good with the cache, and another stone is on the cairne. Tftc
After sharpem rusty my geo dog ,lei our muggle friend and her dog jasper and bear0503 enjoyed the stoll to the first 2 caches this one took a bit more effort up a hill. We enjoyed the views as we went and at gz it didnt take long to spot the hide. Thanks Wingaap for taking us here
Found on a steep walk with Quesera and Bear0503 on a beautiful day and a great view
A nice brisk winter's morning walk around and over and down the hills was just what I needed. After heading up the hill through some nice cool rainforest, the track steepened getting the heart thumping, lungs pumping and legs burning.
Approaching GZ, I noticed an inconspicuous SPOR just off the track, which may as well have been a flashing red beacon to this geocacher . Caught my breath, and retrieved TB to move along before moving along myself. All good here with log and container.
Thanks **Wingaap** for bringing us here, this find makes #3848. Discover our trackable TGQNRV.

Needed the hint as gps was a bit bouncy. Probably too high up! Man that was a climb. Oxidised some serious fat cells on that walk. Beautiful day for it though. Out catching some smiles with geohubby. Tftc
TFTC... 29/4/17. Child free caching with mnance101. Just the two of us, and we'll be travelling on down the road (hill) because we are at the top. GPS app not sure but found it.
Out caching with Remsjw. Last time we were here we ran out of time to do this cache. Nice steep walk. TFTC!
After finding a few caches in the Botanical Gardens, I went for a little walk. And for this one I took the detour along the much more inviting walking trail.

Found it! After a hike uphill and alot of looking in the wrong place we finally found it! Tftc!
Well that was a good walk. After finding bush camo, got the heart rate up with a great hill climb. What a good and interesting track. Cache all good and quickly found.
TFTC.
Steep old trail up here after looking for bush camo. Cache easily found. Thanks.
We lost a pen then thought crap we have to walk down the big hill and back up again. But the hill is making us strong. But we wish we brought water. But the view is awesome but the kids don't really care about stuff like that.
A muggle friend and I caught up for some much needed exercise, especially considering how easily winded I got on one of the little hills. After an embarrassing fail on bush camo, I had to make up with a find for this one. We actually completely forgot about caching from talking too much when something caught my eye.. A rock cairn. My friend looked at me and asked if that was a cache. Opened my app. No, but we are very close too one. Read the description and after deciding to go with the hint instead of the gps, we hunted around for a while, before I decided to see where the gps might lead, I get to about 5m, had a look around and saw the very obvious hiding spot. After signing the sheet and showing her the swag, we headed back to the cairn to grab my bag and met up with an interesting man and his two dogs. Fun morning out with definite plant to do this again! Tftc wingaap
Continuing on and up, up and up from bush camo, what started as a brisk pace ended up as a laborious grind toward the top of the hill. Don't think either option to GZ would have been any better from my starting point. Either way it was a brilliant morning to walk up the hill.
At GZ had some GPS issues in settling to one spot. Ended up deeper into the scrub and part of the way back down the hill than the clue suggests before the GPS swung around to begin another hill climb. Going back on the track spied an obvious rock cairn and then found the cache. Nice view from the top. TFTC wingaap

Wow, what a climb! Geo-daughter and I hiked up the hill, which is quite steep towards the top. Finally walked this circuit after moving here 18 months ago. TFTC!
Continued along to this one from 'bush camo'. Had trundled along Kulgun trail, though when I came to the intersection I then chose to go up the Quarry trail - that was an interesting hill! Though to be fair, I preferred going up it over going down it later - that loose stone has the tendency to be slippery on the downhill.
Made it to GZ and found the cache quickly. No stone cairns in sight today (though lots of little ones seen along the Kulgun trail). Although, nearby the cache, there were a lot of stones that appeared to have been made into a line, like for a garden edge (though there's definitely no garden up here - too hot and dry!). Odd.

Happy Australia Day!
I almost thought this was going to be a 'muggled/DNF'. Arriving at GZ, there was, sadly, no sign of the magnificent cairns as depicted in some of the photos. Compass was bouncing around so we tried to use the photos as the clues for a while, which resulted in finding a short empty piece of white PVC pipe which had me thinking "Oh no " Back to the compass which was now pointing further away in another direction so I wandered aimlessly downhill to look around. Using my geo-senses, I eventually found another part of the clue and then bingo, quite well disguised, but just ever so slightly suspicious. I was quite happy with myself to find this one. Log signed, and carefully rehidden. We really enjoyed the walk around Kulgun circuit, which we probably would have never tried, if not for geocaching. Thanks Wingapp!

Nice walk along the very windy track. Found the cache after reading the hint. Thanks wingaap.
Found while doing this bush circuit of nearby caches. GZ felt very grand at the pinnacle of the hill. The line of rocks is in great condition. People must be fond of rock sculptures around these parts, as they were everywhere along the track. Very cool. TFTC
That was certainly a big hill but worth it when you get here. Nicely hidden too I walked straight over the top of it the first time. TFTC
I think this should be the last today. But who knows. Beautiful spot up here, with views through the trees to the city. Signed and returned.
This cache has been on the radar for some time, as it is (A) close to home and (B) completes my full calendar of 'date hidden' caches. For some reason it just never seemed an appropriate time to come and get it. With some time on my hand today, and as I was passing through the area on my way home, I decided enough was enough!.
A great walk up to the cache from Gordon St may have been made easier if I had followed the path. I, however, like to rogain, which means direct route hiking. so up the hill I slogged! Unfortunately that meant I missed the cairn of rocks until I was exiting, and totally forgot I was supposed to add one until halfway back down the hill.
Thanks wingaap. A noce heart starter for the day.

A beautiful Brisbane morning for a caching run. Out to clean up a few of the nearby caches.
Need to buy myself some hiking poles for those descents.

With a slightly earlier finish at work on Fridays, I made my towards this trail, in the hope of picking up a few caches before heading home. After finding another cache nearby, I headed up the hill to this one. Up and up I went until I finally reached GZ. I noticed the item mentioned in the hint and added to it as requested. Then I followed my phone in the direction it was pointing. I quickly located the cache and signed the log.
It really pays to read the clue sometimes.
We all added a rock and then went in search of the piggy. Once I had read the clue it was an easy find (before that walking in circles).
Picked up Declan the dino (TB FMRF35). He was too cute to leave in the bush.

Today I was out caching with Net88 and this was my first find, having picked up Bush Camo on a previous visit. We took the steep walk up to the cache so we stopped for a rest at the top of each bump, and tried to see the view through the trees. At the top Net88 added to the cairn to make it look beautiful then we moved over and found the cache easily. Nice having a good sized cache too. TFTC
Zacgyver and I were having our first caching trip together when we decided to head to this cache. We made our way up the hill on the Quarry Trail after leaving the Kulgun Circuit. It was a lovely relaxed walk up the hill with our main goal to be trying to spot any wildlife on our journey.
We were soon at the top and I saw the very sad cairn. I spent a few minutes fixing it up before we headed down towards GZ. It was a quick find when we got there, after signing our names in the logbook we added a trackable and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the cache Wingaap.

Friday has always been my favourite day of the week, especially as my geohubby has an RDO every second Friday and we get to spend time together. After kayaking about 10 km up and down Norman Creek this morning, I convinced him to come and get some unloved caches (but only just!) with me over near Bardon. The weather was absolutely stunning, not too hot, not too cold but just right - a Goldilocks Day. I was really looking forward to searching because the caches were by the very devious Mr Wingaap - my favourite type! Today's didn't disappoint. We followed the goat track...er path...up and up...please some down and down would be nice and came to...the bike track. Hmmmm, where can that cache be? I went back and read the previous logs, oh something about stone cairns, yep, saw some back there says geohubby. I turned around ready to take a step...and there was the cache. You are a bit sneaky Mr Wingaap. Everything is good at GZ, log lovely and dry. TNLNSL, thanks for placing this cache, it's in a lovely spot and I loved your ephemeral art. Andy Goldsworthy eat your heart out!
The Kerry half of Slow Puncture was out on a hot morning with Angela from Team DNA.
Find # 12 for our morning - it was an uphill climb, but not as angled as the descent afterwards, so we are glad we approached from the direction we did.
By now, in the heat, we had walked so far that when we got to GZ we felt like we could have been in Cairns, and the structures supported that theory. We added to the cairns, found GZ, signed and departed - for a drink, somewhere. ANYwhere!
Thank you, wingapp!

Mrs Slow Puncture and I set off to grab a few caches today.
Up yet another hill, (when do we get to the down parts?!) I think Noah was around the last time this place saw rain!! It was a dust bowl and very, very slippery! Both Mrs SP and I had quite a few near misses when our feet slipped on the loose dirt.
I'm sure there would be some lovely views up here, but the trees are so high, we just couldn't see past them.
We came upon the crossroads and changed our path. We were both a little weary now and when we came upon the rock cairn we knew we were close, so out came the GPS.... Hmmmm. There is still QUITE a way to go yet!! It seems that people are a little more creative out this way! There are now rock cairns ALL OVER the place! We added to the rock cairn closest to the cache, I have attached photo's of two of the cairns, see if you can spot the tall one in the distance!

After having a 'healthy' breakfast at Pancake Manor me and the bf decided it was time to escape to nature, work of a few calories and of course, fun a few caches!
Heading towards GZ and saw some tell tale signs we were heading the right way. As I approached GZ and saw something that looked suspicious we encountered a person walking the other way. We lingered a bit and the gentleman asked if we were looking for the geo cache! We said yes and he told us he knew where it was and wished us luck. As soon as he was gone, I went to investigate and soon had cache in hand! While I was signing the log, my partner set about adding his own rock cairn! He was pretty impressed by his efforts of 12! What a trek! I'm glad it was a cool day. It was a lovely climb for the afternoon, and very peaceful in this little hideaway of bushland so close to the city.
Yup, that's a hill!
With a teensy tiny bit of whinging, Meldob and I worked out way upwards to grab this little hide!
Thanks wingaap! We had a lot of fun touring this little hidden away part of Brisbane

OMG that is some hill climb up & up & up we made it, but that was our limit for the day, Geograndad 's heart
was thumping knee & ankle was bring a bother, which means we will have to do it all again for the other 2 caches another day , we were to exhausted to go for them. TFTC

Took what appeared to be the quicker route but the terrain at the beginning of the track soon had me wondering. Soon started to level out and was a good walk from then on. Only a short search required at GZ to reveal the cache. Grabbed a TB and dropped another. Tftc.
Well I think I need the next cache to put out the fire in my heart of the climb up here.
What a view.
Added a rock to the cairn.
Visited the cache and took the Austrian firefighter TB and left the Bundy Bear walkabout TB.

Wow. This stroll definitely got my heart rate up. Good training for the Stinson walk. Lisylou had her track set at an obvious spot but I was lagging behind and spotted the hide.
Out with misssusan for a morning stroll, this one really made us work for it though as we found our way from bush camo. Good tacks though, I liked the stone steps. Nearing in on gz I was heading to a possible hide location, misssusan focused on another and made the find. Tftc.
Big trek up the steep hill, but what a lovely view from the top! Picked up a travel bug inside!
Found after a little searching. Dropped off a tag and picked up one. Great walk. TFTC
I do like a stone cairn and we spotted the rocks on approach to GZ...
While I made busy taking pics of the cairn, OrionJ located the cache easily
We had a big day out in Mt Coot-tha forest today, and I was lucky enough to explore new ground here.
Still, happy to have all the steep climbs behind us

Out for a day in the bush with Ms Maddy today and one thing I can say about this cache is that it is nice to be heading down hill for a change, and it really does seem that someone here likes rocks.
Anyway a little moving around and the marker was found and it is quite interesting to still see it standing. The cache was also soon found and the writing in the log was done.
Only just now though do I realise how ironic my dropping of Chuck the Angry Bird in this cache was. Let's see how chuck reacts to the Piggy's Paradise. Also picked up the TB Hummer3 Adventures here.

Loved the fact that we had to add a stone to the cairn for this one - everybody should come do this cache to make it the biggest cairn ever!! Left TB. Tftc
Another great Wingaap cache. Well constructed and in great condition. Thanks for placing it here Wingaap that brought us out to enjoy the sunshine and bushland today. There was lots of birdsong that we enjoyed also and the walk did us a lot of good. A great day to go geocaching and explore nature.
out for the day with Aussie Liahona... after stopping off to get nearby Fern Gully we backtracked up to grab this fellow.... a beautiful day in Sunny Brisvegas today, what a fabulous area to be out in such fabulous weather So glad we chose these caches to grab today
Found easy and safe and well Left little pipe TB to make some more adventures

Well, after a massive day of Geocaching on Saturday, down Southside, the Geobeast and I were after a nice easy one to stretch the legs out and fend off any stiffness. Alas we soon developed a severe case of "Muppets Legs" (well, I did, the Geobeast seemed unperturbed, but then again, she has extra legs so its not fair really....) but we persevered up the very lovely Kulgan track (happily plenty of spots to stop and admire the view (rest wobbly muppets legs...). We finally got to the top, added a nice stone to said Cairn and then made the nice easy find; we found a good spot to sit and have a drink and rest, while signing the log and admiring the view. While we were doing that, a lady (probably pushing her 60's) came bounding straight up the hill, not on any track that I could see), said good morning in a cheery, non puffed out sort of voice (what's with THAT?!!) and then went bounding off back down the hill! The Geobeast and I looked at each other in amazement, as it was a very steep straight up and down, with no discernible track we could see. Anyway, we waited for Mountain Goat Lady to go bounding of out of sight and we returned the container to it's home and continued our way back down the hill, having enjoyed our trip up here very much (always much enjoyment after you reach the top I find...). TFTC!
I needed a work out today and burn some calories on some hills. However, it was a nice walk in between my huffy and puffy, the views between the trees and listening the birds I thought how beautiful this area is and to be able to be so close to it. Got to GZ and found piggy. After signing the log it was a gentle walk down the hill. TFTC
Was on a night run to collect this Piggy for my Alphabet Animals. Somehow managed to forget to go past Bush Camo and then took a wrong turn to find the long way up.. bah.
Found the cairn no problem. Then hunted around for a good stone. Once this was on the cairn I crossed over to search for the cache and again had it in hand quickly.
I hung my torch up and made myself comfortable on the path to look through the stash and sign the log. Then I packed up and took a minute to admire the great view from up the top.
TFTC and the great walk in a new area for me.

After a slobbering dog encounter at bush camo, the dog owner suggested I go in front of her on the climb so that she could keep her dog under control. Wish she'd kept it under control to start with!
I wanted to put a bit of distance between myself and the slobbering dog, so I powered up the windy track, to the track junction, and then, with lungs burning, strided up the fire trail to the top. Sure is a steep little hill.
Once I'd caught my breath, I added a rock to the precarious lookng cairn. 5 steps later, I had some camo PVC pig in my hand. All in perfect order.
TFTC, and my morning cardio, Wingaap

I took the beautiful little path from Bush Camo to this one. It is quite a climb that is well worth the effort. I added a rock to the can, regained my breath and made a quick find. Then it was back to Post Meridian to replace the container I could replace earlier.
Picking up my cache-for-today after work nearby. I've done a few in this area now. This was one long slog uphill, and even though the air was cold at 4pm, I built up a sweat. Found GZ easily, and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC, once more, wingy!!!
Despite the poor GPS reception was able to find the cache through the descriptions. Another great walking spot
Oh my! This was the first of four caches of the day for 5Meerkats Mummy and Geo Sapiens Mummy. Daddy Meerkat had snickered to Geodaddy the night before when they were discussing the "Thelma and Louise" style adventure that Mummy Meerkat and Geomummy were off on the following day!
So Geomummy and I strategised as to the best route to take on said adventure and we decided to take the high road first. I was at a disadvantage from the start as Geomummy is a few good cms taller than me. Picture the staturesque blonde and the stumpy brunette. Anyway, up the hill we trudged. I stopped often to catch my breath and also to see how far I'd come, just for encouragement. Because I had to take two steps for every step from Geomummy I soon fell behind, but tried to keep up so not to lose sight of her!!! It felt like forever but we made it to the top in no time. We had a quick look around and I spotted the possible location. Bingo!! A just reward. We sat down to catch our breath and sign the log. We covered the cache and and added a stone each to the cairn, then moved on to the next part of our adventure...

I had somehow convinced/persuaded/pressured Mrs Meerkat into coming with me to do the caches in this area. I was so happy when she finally relented and I remember her exact words "fine, I'll come - but I'm not talking to you after"... hehehehe...
So, after dropping the kids off at school we met at my house and you would have thought I was climbing Everest - I had my camelbak, food, gpsr, swaps, walking stick, notebook of cache description, long walking pants... well, you get the picture... We stopped by Mrs Meerkat's for further supplies and then we were off...
The day was a little overcast and perfect for climbing - so we parked the car at the bottom and after a little bit of negotiating decided upon this one first - my theory was if we go up to start with, we must come down on the way back.
So up we went - the legs had a twinge or two on the way up but soon we were at GZ - cache was quickly found by Mrs Meerkat - we were so pleased - no pesky husband or kids to be seen (or heard!) - it was lovely.
Cache was in great condition, we signed log and were now full of enthusiasm for the next one .
Thanks Wingaap - great cache in such a fantastic location
