We completed all stages with "FlyingPigSquadron" on Wednesday 18 October but there was a lot of "activity" at ground zero. One man was doing Tai Chi for over an hour and several others coming in and out talking to him, including a ranger. We decided it would be prudent to return another day to sign the log but I guess that will not happen now.
Thank you for the cache, we enjoyed showing interstate cachers our lovely park.
We have logged a find with the permission on the Owner.

Feel Free to Log the cache as a Find for the next two weeks...I will fully Archive it after that time so this is the grace period. As long as you have either done the treck as far as the DNA tower or place a photo near one of the waypoints we are happy to see that as a find.

Last flight leaving in two weeks

Times have changed and its Time to Archive this cache on Request of the "Kings Park Authority" we assume.

Please dont attemt to find the cache as it wont be there.

For a short while I will accept a photo of you standing near "waypoint one" as a find for the cache.

found with mum and geokid, hundreds of muggles around today, I forgot the kings park festival was on. I was very surprised at how close it is to another cache. Everything was wet as lid is badly cracked and brittle, poured water out, let it air a little and replaced bag for log and put container on an angle so water can hopefully run off. TFTH Cheers!

What better way to work out the double stands of CGTA and see the diverse genomic landscape the King’s Park has to offer. Just a walk in the park as they say. Clear skies and TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan, TeamAstro. [^]

A shame it was removed. This one provided a nice romp through King's Park. A good one while it lasted.

18-Aug-07
Found this one today with a Canadian friend I was wandering in King's Park with. He can no longer claim to be a muggle! Cache is still damp, and was completely uncovered and visible; I covered it as best I could without changing its location, but it is still quite visible. TNLN. Thanks, it was a lovely walk.

As tourists (from Tasmania), we had heard that Kings Park was a must – so we figured that completing a multi cache was as good a way as any to see it!! Found all the info without too much hassle (although the info centre did tell us a different number of stairs to what we counted!!!). Sorry to report that the cache had quite a bit of water in it. We dried it as best we could, and removed the mouldy Barbie book, mouldy postits, sodden secondhand hat and handkerchief, the toothbrush that was in a bag of brown water and a few other bits! Log book is also damp. Dried things as best we could and left them inside our only plastic bags. Placed cache upside down to try to avert further water intake. T as above, L Frog. Thanks

Stopped in on my walk around Kings Park this afternoon. Cache had a little bit of water in it, but was generally in good condition. Great to see these historic caches still holding up well! Smile

18-May-07
Spent mothers day trapsing around the Perth area and found this one. Interesting trying to find this one without drawing to much attention to your self, especially when there are big signs saying keep out. And every muggle in the metro area was out for lunch. Thanks for the hunt.

Found this one during my lunch break, a nice stroll under threatening skies for me. TFTH!

Great Cache ThankYou, Think Queen Victoria lived much longer than this! Think you'll find that these are the dates of her reign! Otherewise T4TC Moved the Geocoin on otherwisr TNLN

15-Oct-06
We have altered the page to reflect common knowledge that that the clue refering to birth and death of Queen victoria is infact the her years of Reign. The Clues are still the same and the issue with the steps numbers on the tower are still the same so just use the hint and cheat if you find it confusing in any manner. The walk/drive hasnt changed and the park is as usual worth the time to visit. Thanks for all the feedback

15-Oct-06
I think I got all the bugs out. The cache hasnt changed as such just the reference about Queen victorias birth and death has been changed to reflect that it was infact her years of Reign. If I missed one then email me and I will change it.

Our bigest problem on this cache was counting the number of stairs as several muggle kids were doing same. Nevertheless we had an interesting chase and saw some beautiful plant growth in our pursuit.

It was really one of those perfect "nearly spring" days that simply beckoned us to meander through Kings park. Little Doc confronted her fear of heights up the tower and proudly made it to the summit - jelly legs all the way down again!
I'm sure the queen's birthday dates don't match up , unless my addition skills are as bad as my navigation skills, but thanks to the extremely cryptic clue (NOT!)we successfully found the cache. T: koala L: pencil sharpener. Thanks for the find.

13-Aug-06
Called by on a Geocoin raid, picking up "ADAcache isn't here." Found the cache in good condition.

08-Aug-06
On our tour around Australia we had decided to do a couple of caches in Kings Park in Perth, and this was one of them. Had a great time finding the clues and working out the final co-ords. However, have to say that we couldn't get Viccys dates to add up to the clues you gave us!!

The boys loved counting the steps, and ran up and down several times (they're fast asleep now while I log this!).

We were extremely brave going into 'the bush' to find the final cache. Back in Blighty, we don't have to worry about spiders that bite! But we managed to find it. We took the bubbles, and left an Aussie geocoin.

Great fun, TFTC.

Took two newcomers to geocaching for their first geohunt and they had a great time. we found all the caches within an hour, but really stuffed up the calculations along the way. TNLN

"...and so it came to pass that after little 'Bear Bear White Sheep' had wandered near and far, it's fleece matted and it's it feet sore, it decided to rest...

...once step closer to reaching it's owners."

This was a very pleasant cache to find and a good stretch of the legs if you decided to park at the first landmark.

True enough to the last post, this cache was well hidden and I've left it the same way, just remember to follow the clues as it is there!

22-Jun-06
We started the clues yesterday then finished them off today, on our last day in Oz. We enjoyed the walk round the park and the climb up the DNA tower - we counted the steps the same on both sides!

TN, L signature keyring and BA amenity kit (unused). The cache was covered only by a few sticks so we left it a bit better hidden. Thanks for a nice cache.

Kings Park holds a special place in my heart. Despite being English and coming to Perth when he was 60 my grandfather took a keen interest in our native flora and hence it is now where he rests (well his ashes do) as he was always a keen gardener.

This place is just so peaceful & beautiful and has the BEST views from all around. It really is the true heart of Perth.

So it was great to do abit of a walk from Queen Vic to the Lighthorseman (bit of a horse lover myself) and then head to the DNA tower for some more excercise. I will admit though it was 5.45pm by this stage so I ditched the climb and took the easy option.

Relatively easy find once I read the clues that went with the photos.

Took Jedi Badge
Left Adelaide Bank Postit Notepad (don't tell the boss, but it was all I had)

Cheers

Its not until you get to a place like Kings Park, take some time to take in your surroundings, do you appreciate what a fantastic spot it is. Victoria and I (I call her "Queenie") stood there together and looked out upon the magnificent Swan River.

Seriously, it is the best vantage point in Perth and no wonder visitors to Perth are taken in awe of this great view, location and city.

So clues were gathered, numbers computed and cache located.

It was great to read the log. I couldnt help but wonder what those people in the early logs are up to now...five years on...time certainly flies...and I pondered briefly the course my life had taken in that short time.

So apart from being very retro today I was glad to cross another quality cache off the list!

Another find for 2/3 of WeThree - good fun! Tim (almost 4 yrs old) really enjoyed climbing the DNA tower and helping count the steps.

22-Jan-06
We had fun with this one! Our 2nd find for the day. My first ever multi-cache. We found this no problem at all. No snakes, no insect bites, all good Smile Signed the log book, and TNLN. We then proceeded to our next cache...

22-Jan-06
Yay! This one was an enjoyable cache. The clues were all fairly straightforward, although there was some contention about the number of steps on the DNA tower between all members of our group. We were asked by some british tourist muggles what we were doing (we obviously looked like complete nerds), we triple-checked the maths and settled on our final coordinates. After a little walk, we found the (well-hidden) cache! Signed the log, took photos and we were on our way to the next one!

I didn't plan my walking around Kings Park very well, so we had to return to the DNA tower, and climb it again (the teenagers Seiken and FeeBz were not amused!). All the maths nearly confused me, but I got there easily in the end. TN, think I left a Scottish pencil. Thanks for the chance to explore a great park.

We managed to get into the city today so we have added a new log book to replace the seriously overfull old one.
We spent as long as the mosquitoes would allow us to read the book. What a great read it is too. Someone should publish some of these.
While there we dropped of a TB (Roger Rabbit)that is wanting to get out a bit more...maybe take him overseas as he may like the travel. Thats all folks...for now.
We would also like to say...
Thanks for all the support you have show with this cache we love reading the reports. Its possible it the first taste of real Australian Bushland/spiders/snakes (just kidding) that many tourist get to experience so its a good start for those that are timid with the thought of creepy crawlies. Have fun and keep on hunting.

Second time I climbed the DNA tower today - this time a bit more carefully Wink. Very enjoyable finding my way through the park. It was wondering if I should at all be worried about snakes and whatnot as we tend to take the bush a bit for granted back home in NZ. Obviously lots of big ants about, but nothing else bothered me.
