Logs
Found the cache with a natural geocache tool, it is not an ammo container but a small size plastic container with logbook in tact. Look at the beginning of viewing platform and use your geo senses and you will find it
Searched and searched, but no luck. Looks like the decking might have been replaced in the last 6 months.Oh well, it's still an amazing spot to visit.
Day 2 of our wonderful weekend on Kgari. We have left Captain Vimes and JDavs at the resort to enjoy a sleep in and the day spa, while Beardman75, Peppa and myself were up early to explore the north of the island. We had the lake to ourselves and the turtles came out to say hello. A really beautiful spot that we were glad to have seen. The cache was found after a short search.Tftc strong-armFind #4705

Found by the sedgys (Daniel, lauren & Jessica on their Kgari adventure, beautiful spot, loved the turtles, replaced bag as it was damaged. TFTC
Many years of coming to Fraser and I have never been here before. Tough track getting in for us today, and so so busy ... but we made it. What a pretty place. Different again from anything we have seen already. And cute little turtles saying hello to us. Cache an easy find and photos snapped.
Found this cache completely by chance.
Before coming to faster I saved all caches to a list, turns out it wasn’t a downloaded list and I didn’t actually have phone service to be able to find them.
I have been here many times over the last 11 years and today i just happened to spy something that that looked very much like a geocache container.
I signed the log, explained the whole geocaching world with one of our group members and replaced it a little more out of sight, still in the same place tho.

Another beautiful place on Fraser. Loved to sit and watch the turtles. Came here because of the cache. Thanks for putting it here.
Loved it so much that I decided to leave the trackable that I gathered in WA last week.

We hunted for this for a while - and used the hint and previous logs but couldn’t find it. Great spot though
Today's plan was somewhat different to other days during this trip. Every other day has been "drive up the next section of beach and pick up any rubbish". But today that was only the case for the morning, and this afternoon, the boss suggested we go for one of the scenic drives. After days walking along the beach, I welcome any plan that involves sitting!
I'm on K'gari for 11 days with Ocean Crusaders; two weekends in Eurong co-ordinating community beach clean-ups, and the days in between a small group camps at Waddy Point to clean the northern beaches. And we cleaned every bit of eastern beach from the Cape to Hook Point.
As it turned out, the scenic drive wasn't entirely open, as evidently, the bush fires have affected the area enough to close some of the drive. But, we still got to enjoy some fantastic scenery, the walk up to Knifeblade Sandblow, and of course, visit Lake Allom.
My deal with myself was if the convoy was ever within five hundred metres of a geocache and I could get myself there and back without disruption, it was on. Only here it was even easier, as it's right along the walk to the viewing area.
So, feeling rather obvious (not that it matters, they all know what I'm up to), I poked around and found the container tucked up where expected. It was right around 14:15 as I signed the logbook and snapped a couple photos (some got bombed good). And then the time to watch the turtles, and enjoy another highlight of the island before heading off once more. Thanks for this geocache, strong-arm

On our journey from Orchid Beach to Awinya we stopped at this fantastic lake and had it all to ourselves. Loved this spot. The trees and the lake and its history were well worth the stop. The cache was found without to much difficulty, although these days 'hands and knees' is getting difficult. Thanks for placing this cache and this location deserves a favourite.

Could this cache have been muggled??? DNF and the area was throughly searched by 4 adults and a couple of enthusiastic kids
Fraser Island and the surrounding beachside locations have been on my bucket list for many years so I jumped at the chance when charmad asked me to join him and Triple Turmoil on a 4WD camping trip on the Anzac Day long weekend. This was an awesome adventure with great weather, lots of laughter with many a joke and story telling, sleeping under the stars, spotting six dingoes and many beautiful birds that I've never seen before. I was amazed at the amount of lakes we visited, all very different but such a pleasure to see them.
Short drive in to see yet another little lake and we got entertained by the cute little turtles before making a quick find of the cache.

A three day camping road trip with Snickersallan, Triple turmoil and myself was organised to see Fraser Island, Rainbow Beach and Double island point. What a fantastic time we had; driving around enjoying the scenery, bush walks, visiting lakes, lunch and dinners on the beach, and a great camp site at Dundubara. The trip was full of laughs and great companionship, thank you.
Day 2 and it was now time to start heading back on our tour of the island. A little drive inland and we came to this spot. How funny to see the turtles coming up to the steps, they must feel the vibrations and head for “food”. They didn’t get any from us, but we did find the cache and in the position of the hint. An easy find and with names in the log and cache replaced as found we were off to the next one on the list. Thanks for placing this one here.

I have never had the opportunity to visit Fraser Island. Chamad wanted an adventure. A road trip and I am super grateful that he took me along. We had a 3 day road trip, on Fraser Island, Double Island Point and Rainbow beach, plus a detour on the way home to Brisbane through Gympie, Boreen Point and Noosa. Snickersallen joined us too and it was great to meet someone new, especially someone fun to cache with. So many laughs, frustrations and more laughs. Lots achieved. Some road blocks preventing some wanted achievements, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. This was day 2 of our adventure.
Can't believe it has been so long since it has been found. Was such a fuzzy sense of achievement to give this cache some loving again after so long.

Found accidentally after seeing an older couple looking for what we initially though was a snake. We worked out they were geocachers when we spotted a GPS, and we had a look for ourselves when the coast was clear. YFTC. Picked up 2 x TB.
Found it during our two days Fraser tour. Great island and fun driving. Had a short swim in Lake Allom and saw some turtles.

Last time we were here which was 9 years ago the cache was missing, but we met the local tour operator, Hoppi, who said hat he would replace the cache - which he must have as it was being found a few months after we were there.
Once again the little turtles come up the cleared water way and look at you - or are they looking for food?
Thanks strong-arm.

Spent the day exploring, venturing from kingfisher up to the lighthouse. There was like 50 car loads of muggles at the lighthouse parking area so we turned around and made our way back south stopping at orchid Beach for pies and beer before making our way out to turtle Lake to pick up the only cache for the day

We were very fortunate to have this beautiful place all to ourselves, apart from some pretty yellow breasted birds and a few turtles. Once the cache was located we took time to enjoy the serenity of the lake and take a few photos. All good here. TFTC.
Taking the new (4WD) girl Suzee` Prime for an offroad spin - her first time off tar ... and here we are on Fraser! As you do. With the Mrs, Team Herbz, Sweet_bee and Fangsoki along we camped at Waddy Point and excursioned from there each day. Today was south and south-west, and this was last before needing to head back north as the tide comes in. We found the cache very quickly after the, interesting, drive in. That road is very much like the Pacific Hwy actually. We did take some time to observe the peaceful lake, and checked out the curious turtles checking us out.
Thanks for placing this cache, strong-arm. Found in good condition.

Pprime, Sweet_bee, and myself made our way to this one next for our big day's outing.
It appeared that Father Time was not being kind to us. Mr Pprime had us pick up the pace as the tides were soon going to be an issue. However, we soon slowed down due to the track to Lake Allom. Bounce, bounce, bounce. This track was slow going - but we got there in the end.
We arrived at the parking and Pprime and I barrelled down toward GZ. We found the cache and signed the log. We did take SOME time to smell the roses and check out the lake. We flew back up and bundled everyone back into the cars and headed off.
Turned out we beat the tides.. thank the Lord We will have to come back for another visit another time. TFTC strong-arm

We found this one at 10:30am after waiting for some happy muggles to move along. What a delightful place, lots of cute little turtle's spying on us and in the tree, a small goanna quietly observing. SL Left pathtag. Discovered Scrabble TB. TFTC
Found it, took quite a while. A tour group turned up at the same time. Thumbs down to the tour operator. Remember they are wildlife, not to be fed.
This week I had the pleasure of staying at Orchid Beach with Swellerfungus and LadySim, so took the opportunity to explore different parts of the island. Unfortunately today was our last day and on the journey home we called in to Lake Allom to visit the turtles. When we arrived there was already another group on the viewing structure watching the turtles so after our group watched for a while Swellerfungus entered the water for a swim which enticed most of the others in. One muggle remained obstinately close to GZ so I had to enlist geodaughter to do the retrieving while I blocked the view. Cache was found safe and well and after signing the log returned it to its hide after the other group had returned to the car park. A fine way to end our visit to Fraser Island. TFTC
Adventure! On our way back to the beach a tree cut the street and blocked it. IT rained hard and werden had abouut 2h time befrore darkness!! We packed water and wore towels against rain and wind. After 90 minutes Power walk we reached a camp. Very friendly tour guides helped us. And after hours they leaded us home over the darkest beach I ve ever seen!
we're on holiday and traveling from Brisbane to Cairns (Cape Tribulation) and all places between. we try to find a cache every day. some are easy to find and some are more difficult. but with every cache we find we get a smile on our face and a smile on our map.

After all the DNFs on this cache we sussed out the area and came to the same conclusion so we've replaced the cache with a new container and hopefully this is ok because we'd love other cachers to be able to come out here and experience this fantastic area. The turtles were all poking their little heads up and looking at us and there were heaps of tiny fish around as well. A magical place to visit. Cheers, ajtmb.
We hoped to much that this 4.5 terrain would be there. But reading the last logs our hopes went decrescendo.
Box is definetly gone.
This spot is worth a cache. A beautiful lake and we saw some little turtles!

Nope! we had several muggles along with us to find out what this game is all about - but despite everyone crawling all over the place under the platform and boardwalk we did not find this one. There are so many "did not finds" maybe it has gone?Perhaps someone could check on it? And I will read the comments before I go searching again!
We have searched for more than an hour, but couldn’t find this large cache. To our opinion the first section of the board walk is too low to hide the cache. The board walk looks different from that showed in a photo of the Image Gallery. Is the board walk renewed and the cache lost?
Left the spot at 13:00.

This one escaped us. We had the place to ourselves for a good while. Search the boardwalk and viewing platform well even using a stick to poke and prod where sand buildup prevented visibility. I had no signal on the island so I couldn't download extra logs for clues, no after reading maybe I should've ignored the hint and looked in higher ground. I only managed to find one cache on Fraser Island but that just gives me a reason to return.

Well this time it was an easy find as the water was back down to a normal level log book was a bit damp so I left it out to dry as long as I could before I left thanks strong arm for the hide
Found this but the pen was too wet to use and we didn't have another. Took a coin, many muggles but we were stealth. Couldn't go back with pen to sign
Here for our annual holiday on Fraser but this year with a difference...now we are geocachers. So an ordinary trip to the beach, or a lake, or the top end, or even just to the shop will become a search and find mission, especially as Swellerfungus is in the second half of the 365 challenge.
Ah, the lake with the little turtles. We love coming here, having a swim and then sitting on the steps waiting for the turtles to come. They are so cute, I never tire of them. This year we did also experience while sitting on the steps and waiting, the tiny fish swarming around and nibbling at our feet, backs and even the fella's armpits! That was a new thing.
So Swellerfungus is off clambouring about looking for the cache where he saw it hidden last year as a muggle. Infact it is because of this cache that we got into geocaching, and for that I'm giving a fave point. Have to expand the search a bit as the cache doesn't appear to be here. We actually wondered if it had gone missing in othe flooding which apparently occurred here a little while ago. The water level now is higher than I've ever seen it, going up over several steps. One of our muggle friends joined the search and eventually found the ammo tin, yay! I wonder if this cache will be responsible for getting another person into geocaching?!?
Anyway great to see it wasn't lost and Swellerfungus is quite excited now coz there is a pathtag inside, thanks UNIBOLT. Doubly rewarding for persisting with the search. Log book signed and all replaced as found.
Thanks for this cache and starting us off in this craziness that we love. A Fave point from me.

Came here today with LadySim, back to the place where my obsession began almost a year ago to the day. The son if a friend of mine showed me a box found near the viewing platform, and so my journey began. Not being a cacher then, I didn't sign the log, but I had a fair idea where to find it. I was sadly mistaken, as a thorough search yielded nothing. A muggle friend or two joined in the hunt and eventually found the blighter! Though the new position is slightly higher, it would have still been under water in one if the previous photos!
I took a pathtags, and swapped it for one of mine. This tag I only put in special caches of personal significance. Thanks for the cache! A fave pt for me

After a bit of crawling through slime and mud we were able to locate the cache. The container was flooded and we took a little time to dry it out and replace the log with a new pad and ziplock bag. Due to the hides location we were only able to replace the cache 30cm higher than where we found it on the ground, hope this helps a little. This was a great area and mini Unibolt loved the turtles. Thanks for the cache strong-arm.
Have been looking forward to do our first dive cache but unfortunately we left our scuba gear at home. The approach ramp to the viewing platform was well and truly underwater so maybe another time.

Been there plenty of times never thought there'd be one there thanks. Hasn't be found for a year.
Too many people swimming to see the turtles. It was a little too wet to write in the log.
Not Found, the water level was heigh, going by the hint the cache is currantly under water.
We tried ducking, groping, diving and prodding to no avail. The lake is full to the point of overflowing and over the highest boardwalk and the cache appeared to be well under water, a couple of metres at least. Hopefully the cache is still there and waterproof. Thanks strong-arm.
got to the lake at 1430.
The boardwalk was under water after a week long rain spell previously. The top viewing platform was just above the water but the bottom one was probably 1.5 to 2 mtrs under water.
I got into the water and got wet all the way up to my logbook and still could not find it.
It will take some time for the water to subside enough to locate this cache.
