Logs
After long negotiations with the land owners, the Arthur's have made a decision to close the Village restaurant and hotel as of April 6th, 2013. I arrived in Pohnpei today and found that they were still moving things out of the restaurant. I asked if I could retrieve this cache and they graciously let me do so. They will be moving back to the states and will let the land owners haggle over what will happen to the buildings on the property. This was the largest geocache on Pohnpei and a favorite to find. Sorry to see it go. I have the cache so you can contact me and let me know what you want me to do with it. I'll be bringing it back to Guam with me in a few days.
Our family was island hopping across the Pacific - sharing some of my youth with them, enjoying the islands, and learning some WWII history along the way. We stayed at the Village and probably walked past it a dozen times before I turned on the GPS and said "Hey, there is one right here!" TFTC!
I am a SM here for the year. There were a group of us up at The Village this morning for Brunch and decided to look up to see if there was one there. Sure enough. Still stuffed with somethings. Even added a little something something. Can't wait to find the other ones.
Still there, lots of stuff but TNLN. Because of the humidity, the log is getting soggy and difficult to write upon, but it is still dry. [remember that it is tomorrow here, not today, because of the Date Line]. The Village is the absolute BEST place there is, bar none!
My first overseas cache! Perhaps it was fitting as for two weeks I've been "An Aussie in Micronesia".
After being being unsuccessful in the Marshall islands, I was determined to find a cache in Pohnpei. Of course, I had only checked the cache list AFTER visiting Sokehs Miuntain, so I had missed all those caches. I was also unsuccessful later in the day at Nan Madol.
Upon arriving at The Village, I wasn't even giving thought to the cache as the view is just so stunning. Using the binoculars I was able to look out where I had been fishing and snorkeling earlier in the day.
I waited for my time, making sure no one could see me but then couldn't find the cache on my first attempt. Desperate times! I ended up lying down, in my white shirt, to get tithe cache do had to explain to my colleagues just what I was up to when I returned to the table, covered in dirt.
We came back again to The Village for dinner, so during my second visit I dropped off a travel to continue its journey, and picked up Eggstreme.
Thank you do much for the cache

Found this cache. It's a bit tricky to find and easier to get if you are not on the path...Tons of stuff in the cache. Left some local shells, took a water gun and an Australian shot glass. Had a great meal, too.
Sure, Did the worst thing you could do with this sport... get caught! But at leat it was with those that work nearby. Snagged the TB and will be taking pictures with the visiting CBU here then travelling to Guam with it. Cheers!
