Looks like the site took a battering in the 2018 floods. No finds since then. Suggest it's gone:(
Looks like floods of May 2018 may have carried this cache away!? The feature we looked around would certainly have been under water. Just depends how firmly wedged the cache was. Hunted with DrCeliphicus to no avail.
Today TaurusSix and I returned for another look. This time the area was clear of muggles. I saw thing the clue refers to and I started exploring TaurusSix thought a snake was there, but it was only bark. I shuffled along and check a few spots.
Around the back and checked the other side. Then I went across the top. I ended back in front and shuffled across again.
TaurusSix then pointed to a rock I had not moved - one I had stepped on/over a few times. I rolled it towards me and under it was a snake. My first sighting for the season. I instinctively let the rock go and stepped back quickly. I watched and the snake did not come out. I'd searched that area enough (just as well) that I did not feel the need to go there again!
Then I focused on another area. After scanning everywhere I could not think of anywhere else to look, so we gave up.

TaurusSix and I walked down to this cache. As we were getting close I asked how far. "40m" was the answer. I looked up and saw two teenagers about that far ahead, and the smoke of a campfire. Given they occupied the place we aborted and headed back.
Today, for a bit of a lark, we though we'd head down towards Kaoota and pick up a few caches in that neighbourhood. We noticed that this one was only a short detour away, so we figured we'd pick it up along the way.
We followed the track from Miandetta Drive down to the river, and immediately it was obvious that the area had been hit hard in the floods in May last year. Thanks to the floods we've had a couple of DNFs on other caches upstream of this one, so it wasn't looking promising.
We wandered a bit upstream towards the GZ, and noticed an out-of-place feature on the riverbank. Sure enough, the GPSr (and, later, the hint) confirmed that we were indeed in the right spot. For a few minutes we were hopeful - it seemed the area had emerged from the floods largely unscathed. However, after over 20 minutes of searching everywhere, checking the hint and trawling the previous logs, we unfortunately came up empty.
Given that that specific area appears to have fared much better than it's surroundings, we're hoping it's just a matter of cache-blindness on our part. Unfortunately though, there's also a good chance that it's been swept away.
Nevertheless, we spent another hour or so exploring the area, skipping stones and building a "bridge" across the stream. This is a wonderful secluded spot, and we ended up having a fantastic time, so despite the DNF we'd still like to say TFTC - there's no way we'd have ended up there without it!

Decided to combine exercise with caching on the "dark" side today. Found the way in easily and made the way down to a very interesting feature. Great to come to another new area.

I lived near here for a few years but had never visited, thanks for bringing me down, lovely spot. Cache and log book a bit damp.
A nice short walk to get this cache today. Dipped our toes in the water hole and wished we had brought our togs. Cache found quickly once at GZ. TFTC.
Beautiful spot down by the river. A bit overgrown in some spots- had to do some minor bush bashing with GeoDad! Found the cache in quite an open position. Re-hid the cache in same spot but added some camouflage. TFTC!
TFTC fidjit. Found this one today whilst out and about with jll1713. A nice day for exploring unknown areas. This is a nice spot.
Last cache with jll1713 before geodaughter heads home to QLD.

We enjoyed the short walk down to the river, located the cache quickly. Thanks for hiding the cache in such a beautiful spot.
After finding 'Babble' a little earlier in the day we wandered off down to the river again. This path was a bit tougher for Miss J and Miss E but they did well. They stayed and played on the rivers edge (with their mum) while I pushed on the extra 60 or so metres to GZ. I must admit it took me a while to find this once I reached a very obvious GZ area (after the clue) as there were so many possible hidey holes. Another interesting piece of hidden history, thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
A nice walk down the track on the 1st day of Autumn. Found the cache quickly, thanks for the clue.
The track was well sign posted, so we knew were not on private property.

Mr T and Ms T2 took dog for a walk after dinner and retrieved this cache. 2nd attempt as 1st try was curtailed by a tiger snake at GZ, and Ms T2 didn't want to hang around any longer. Didn't spot him in the cooler evening air this time. Heaps of wallabys around though which the dog wanted to play with. TFTC
Nice little place for a stroll. At first the hint made no sense, then I turned around and it all fell into place.
The joy of the bush and visiting places we've never been too. With the company of Essendon Bomber and Surfchick3434, we had a very nice walk and managed to sit by the river and take in the sights and sounds. TFTC.
Great hide TFTC

Found it by accident while taking my daughter and her friend to their favourite swimming hole.
We have not tried geocaching before, but we are all intrigued and will have a go this weekend.
Thanks, S

Wonderful adventure this one was for geokid and I on Australia Day 2013! Nearly got bitten by a bull ant retrieving it!
Took Scout Travel Bug and placed porcupine trinket in its place.
Decided to find the swimming hole downstream - lovely arvo rock hopping on the river stones and geokid had a beaut time swinging on the awesome rope over and thru the water! Thank you for helping us discover this place on our doorstep!!

After a ginger beer with the HotCrossChild, we had a nice walk down to the river. Saw an echidna pottering about; photo taken by HCC. Cache was also found by HCC. TNLN. Thanks for encouraging us to this nice spot!
When we got to the end of the fence lines there was some tapes marking a track downstream and away from where the GPS suggested, however Peter thought that maybe the pad headed back in the right direction once near the river. Not so and we returned and followed the GPS until coming to a widish track and while Peter was busy studying the GPS , Sue said look to you right it must be there, and it was. For a change we didn't even need to look up the hint.
We left the scout buckle travel bug which seemed appropriate as it took a bit of scouting about to find the cache. As he attempted to hide the cache container a little better Peter managed to get bitten by an ant with a powerful sting; ouch. TFTC Fidjit/H10/R12
We had been invited for lunch at a friends place and this seemed the opportune time to get some of the caches we did not have time for on our last visit to the Sandfly Margate area.

Found today, what a great little river we never knew was there, this is why we love geocaching! Kids loved the swimming holes. Dropped off big bear geocoin.
It was an easy walk down to the river. We then walked up the river until we got close to GZ and then a quick find was made. It was very pleasant down by the river. As we walked out we met two families who were coming in to spend the afternoon playing in the river - looks like a great spot for families. TFTC fidgit.
after the quick walk to the river i found the gz and thought it could take a while with the enormity of possibilities but all in all found it quite quickly
My 100th Cache! The track down was very wet considering the great weather we have been having. Co-ords put me in middle of rocky riverbed but a quick look around and remembering the hint and it was Found shortly after.
Geokids were getting cabin fever and needed to get out, so I drove them to the end of the road and kicked them out of the car. Came back about 20 minutes later with 3 smiley kids and 1 cache found. thanks for a great walk says geokid #2.
Took the kids down for a walk and checked on the cache while we were there. The cache was safe and sound in it's hiding hole and in condition.
Another lovely walk down to the river. Unfortunately as per last log had to pour the water out. Squeeze out Sylvester. Put some note paper in a new plastic bag as other log booked soaked. Needs some TLC. The river level must have been high when we had all that rain! TNLN
What a great location! We knew this cache needed some TLC so we came prepared with a new container. We will return the old container and very wet contents to Fidjit. I'm not sure what the lady muggle walking her dog was thinking when she spotted me there donning blue surgical gloves which I put on because I knew the cache was wet and probably smelly! TFTC
Thought I had better log the find as we only logged a maintenance log when we actualy found this cache. Sorry for the delay!
Lovely walk and area. TFTC
Lovely walk and area. TFTC
Found this one with the help of the hint. Picked up the cache and water poured out a very large crack around the top of the cache. Opened the cache and it was completely full of water. Every bag inside was like a bag you get with a gold fish. Swollen and full of water. Emptied all the water and dried as best we could. Sorry we didn't have spare bags or log with us. Log is soaked but you can write on some of the middle pages. Swaps are sodden and poor Sylvester had to be wrung out! Replaced all in a wet but not water logged cache. The biggish rock on top may have caused the damage so we turned cache upside down to try and limit further damage and carefully covered. Will need looking at but lovely walk and area. TFTC
Foudn this one today. Lovely spot. Left some stickers and took the small flower puzzle.
We have combined our accounts and are re-logging under our new account name.
(Previous find as 'Rainbow Daisy' will be removed)
Our final cache find for the day was a lovely walk. The young geokids had plenty of balancing practice while walking along the rocks and were nicely worn out for the return drive home. Took 'Angel of North' and 'Elements' geocoins, left puzzle keyring. Oh and took rubbish too! (Didn't find any mobile phones though! sorry GoldJ!)

Nice walk down to the river. Track us very rocky but acceptable. Cache was found quickly by geo kid e after hint. Left Sylvester and marble took army man. Left 2x geo coins angel of the north and element coin.
Took a snake, so there's one less in the area!! Left a soldier. Lost a mobile phone somewhere on one of the 7 caches we did today. What a pain!! It is most probably at this one because of the terrain. Just a few rocks around. TFTC
Stopped at the local organic stall and chatted with owner after a couple of purchases, were pointed out the walking track which led us to the cache. We were stonewalled at first - couldn't decide what was the original purpose of the structure, signed the log and enjoyed the walk back to geomobile. TFTC.
When I visited Tassie four years ago, I frequented the little stall on the way to this cache. The lady makes a really nice coconut ice. The walk down to the river was fairly easy and the gps signal was pretty good. Once we got to GZ, the cache was soon in hand. I reckon that it's lucky some 'mungrel' hasn't tampered with the cache, even though it is colour camouflaged. TFTC Took TB and left a weroamin token.
Went down just at dusk with the whole family, and enjoyed fish in the river, a bandicoot on the path, and a wedgetail eagle flying over the road!
Took teddy bear TB, left Duke Nukem TB.

Was late in the day (right on dusk) when we decided to try for this one. The GPS was a long way out showing accuracy of 8m and when we saw where it was meant to be thought that this was going to take a while but surprisingly did not take long at all. Well done Jr Geo. Would be a great place to visit on a hot day - will definately have to return. Took TB LN TFTC
The first cache of a big (for me) day. I think I did more caches today (3) than I've done all year! A short walk to a great spot by the river. TN, left Roving Art Collection TB.
Found at 1547hrs as my 71st cache. Loved the area, both GZ and the swimming hole downstream. May have to take the fly line down and have a flick just to see if any trout get in there.
TFTC Cheers OldSaint

Will have to bring Catgirl down here. Don't believe she's been swimming in a river before. Would be a good place to come. Brought Catdog with me - she went ballistic! Absolutely loved it here - even went for a swim without being dragged in. That's a first. Read the clue and ended up under a tree. After much frustration decided to look around. Oh! Left Free Willy Koala Dog Tag and took some pics.

Lovely spot. Never got to the swimming hole, the kids had too much fun damming the river!
Found in the company of muggle mother and nephew.
We needed a bit of a walk to burn off a few Easter eggs.

14:06 I'm really glad there is such a good sign at the start of the track as I would not have seen it otherwise. It doesn't look like much of a track at all, which I think is nice as it means it is a hidden little spot. Lottie sys track is a treat for the nose; she stopped many times on the way in to sniff. I was looking near where I got GZ, but Scott noticed something a bit out of place for the area. Somehow I thought we should have a look there, and what do you know - a cache! Then Lottie found the Dog Cache: a swimming hole! I don't know if she liked the water more or all the native animal smells along the shore. We let her have a paddle / sniff, then headed back to the car. One of the owners of a driveway to the side of the track was making repairs and was quite friendly.
Thank you for the cache and for treating us to this spot!

Another lovely surprise walk to the cache, it took us a little while to find the right spot. Picked up the TB and Sienna left a green echidna soft toy and took the scented candle. TFTC
My last cache find and Maddie's last swim for the day. She made it a goodun' - swam over to the rock on the other side, then was tentative about launching off it, but in the end there wasn't much option! Mind you, the tail never stopped wagging - maybe she was just prolonging the fun. I think the swim got a few of the buzzies off of her too. Interesting location, nice spot by the river. Two local muggle children had found the cache in January I think, they've then come back to swap some of the "treasure" - noted by a parent (presumably) in the log: all looks good. Thanks for a neat location and well placed cache, Fidjit/H10/R12.
A beaut location which the tourists who are not geocachers would never find
The river was flowing nicely today and it looked inviting for a swim, but the temperature just wasn't hot enough
So I looked around for the cache instead.
Close examination of the area revealled the out of place rock which hid the cache's hidey hole
TFTC, I left the C.A.R. travel bug

Last found by polite young muggles who came back to do a few more swaps. Hopefully, potential new cachers there!

Nice walk in fading light...with nice butts at the end...abutments that is. Still a fair drop of water about...looks like it gets a good flow over winter. Hope other cachers take a good look on top before pulling rocks from the wall...as not necessary. Many thanks Fidjit/H10/R12....Cheers.

Awesome spot! Will definately go here again. We all enjoyed skipping rocks across the water.
This river is just great, kids love coming here no matter what part of the river it is. Thanks Fidjit for getting us back down here again.

This one came highly recommended to us by Sparkle Llama and we are so glad we went. What a magic spot, didn't want to leave. Would never have known about it, or found that obscure track leading to it, without the cache being there. Fascinating spot right on GZ as well as beautiful everywhere else. Had lunch by the side of the river. TFTC.
Great spot. Wondering what the man made feature is, seems to be very old. Why would it be built there? We really enjoyed this cache, great little walk and destination that we otherwise would never have thought to do.
Excellent path to the river, would love to see it in full flow, today it was quiet. Cache easily found, excellent placement, in case of unseasonal rains! No swaps today, TFTC
Absolutely beautiful river area, I can imagine in summer it would be a great place to cool off. Today, the rain was threatening and the wind was whistling in a very eerie manner.
Jogged the last 200 m as the rain started really bucketing down... some days caching is a lot more like a marathon than a hobby LOL
TFTC!

What a great little walk – we would never have known how to get to the river if you hadn’t shown us, so many thanks for that. We must come back and visit in summer. T fishing light L bath sponge frog – in case anyone fancies a dip in the river!!!
I loved this cache
I arrived at GZ and felt the pull of the river and kept on walking. Ended up walking a fair way upstream and found some really good spots to come back to in 8 sleeps when the fishing season reopens.
I eventually returned to GZ and remembered the reason why I came and found the cache easily.
Took a long black plastic thing (turned out to be a toothbrush)and left a powder fishing light.
Thanks Fidjit/H10/R12 this was a great cache and just the pick me up I needed

Found this one when I was Mrs Cheesy Pig. I have struck out on my own and am now logging the caches I found in my previous persona (but not the ones found only by Mr Cheesy Pig of course)! Let me know if you would like me to find it and log it again but under my new name.
What a beautiful spot! And a really nice walk - which was lucky because I realised I had left my GPSr at GZ when I had almost reached the car, so I had to do a Swampy and go back [:o)] ).
A truly tranquil spot - except for when Piglet started throwing large rocks into the water. I apologise to all the fisher-people who come after us, as I think Piglet has scared off all the fish for many months to come. Or squashed them under large rocks
Took car, left torch and TB. Thanks for a lovely experience Fidgit et al

Thought someone should go and find this cache as it has sat here waiting for FTF for 2 days, so FTF to me.
Great spot by a nice bit of the river. Looking into the clear water I could just imagine where trout would lie waiting for food or a Fly fisher to come along.
