Unfortunately, the historic item (Gold Cradle) that was the feature of this cache has disappeared. Hopefully it's gone to a museum for preservation purposes and is not just sitting as an ornament in some idiot's yard. It would have taken quite an effort to move, as it was large and heavy. This has happened some time in the last 12 months. As there is now no reason to come in search of this cache, I have decided to archive it. A pity really, as it was my first hide. My thanks to all those who visited and I hope the history lesson was worthwhile.
Cheers!

On a forecast damp dismal and not many degree day I met up with the ever obliging Bushfire and Flynn230103. After attending the events at Pykes Creek we used the remainder of the day caching A short walk to this cache in its lovely hide. As usual found an easier way back TFTC bristlehound
Today I went out with Bushfire and Au fiat to chase some caches and to do some events along the way. Bushfire called last night for a pick-up in the morning, and of course I was ready. It was really cold, about 11 degrees, and after the first hour I was starting to regret my decision to wear shorts. We went up around Ballan, Creswick and Ballarat to do these caches. Anyway, thanks to all the owners of these caches, they were all excellent, and sorry for the generic log, I just have so many caches to log after today.
Found for a second time - the kids enjoyed it so much we had to come back Didn't take anything. Container has a crack in it but log book is dry because it's in a bag. Thanks again!!
Tftc please not container is broken and log is damp. Some campers nearby this morning but didnt see any muggles on my bike
Find #1889 for me. Found with jtnsilo at 3:05 pm. This was the third of six caches we targeted in the area today. After leaving Travistock Hill 2 we got back onto Cabbage Tree Road and then turned right down Petticoat Road, making our way towards a clearing near GZ which I thought looked like a good place to park the car. I'd noticed this clearing while previewing the road on Google Earth's street view before leaving Bendigo. I was actually quite surprised that many of these dirt roads had street view available which proved to be very useful since I drive a small 2WD hatchback and have to plan carefully which roads to take. Anyway, what I didn't (couldn't!) foresee was the tent and camping chairs set up in the clearing only 40m away. Had I not been with jtnsilo I probably would have backtracked to look for another parking spot, but somehow having a friend with me made our presence more legitimate and despite the camp set-up we didn't see a soul while we were here so all was good. After making the short walk to GZ we made a quick find in the obvious spot. As a previous finder has already reported, there was a crack in the container, but the log-book and contents were surprisingly dry so the hiding place must be providing enough protection. Thanks for bringing us here today Bristlehound and thanks for the cache!
Peaceful location here. Lovely camp sites which are nice and green at present. Quick find.
I dont know how i ended up surrounded by blackberry bushes, but i did !!! Whats geocaching without a bit of adventure. Very nice cache. Got some nice pics of relics. Thanks for an enjoyable cache . LucyEvony and geocookie dog
Wow, what a neat bit of history hiding away in the forest. Found with Neavesie. Tftc
Having an afternoon of caching on this long weekend i was determined to get some finds under my belt after a disastrous caching weekend in Melbourne.
A nice quick find here thx to your spot-on coords. Certainly an interesting artifact, amazing it had survived this long. Tttc Bristlehound.

Back in action. Dried, painted and stocked with all new stuff. Kept the old logbook in use for historical value, despite it showing its age.
Thanks for the advice Phetlern. Shall disable the cache until I am able to attend to it, hopefully without too much delay.

*Who could wish for a more enjoyable area to spend time, than in and around the Creswick Regional Park? A wonderful area for walking, riding, exploring and of course geocaching!*
We enjoyed a DNF free day, among fascinating fungi, carefully hidden and well maintained caches.
We were travelling from the east, on reaching the Picnic/camping area we found the Ford was no longer passable and the road closed, so a 200m walk through the bush resulted.
**NOTE TO CO:** This one has succumbed to the weather and every thing is very damp.
Thanks to bristlehound for placing this cache.

Thanks bristlehound for the Cache and bringing us here.
Cache container in good condition. Contents wet, either because lid has no seal or incorrectly located in its hide.

Been in Victoria for three weeks walking the Great Ocean Walk (100k) and the Goldfields Track (200k). Collected / found numerous caches along the tracks and nearby towns. TFTC.
Somtimes you dont realise how lucky you can be. We were having trouble locating a nearby letterbox cache and only had the east coords to go on. So trial and error method was employed. Walking around i stumbled across this cache without even entering it into the gps. I thought i had found my letterbox cache
However opening the log book gave us the name and a different gc code
Not to worry. A find is a find.
Thanks

Reached the spot and of course, there were campers nearby. The resident dog reported for patting, evidently the price for entering his part of the bush. Then he left us to wander about and about and find the goods at 5:30pm. SL TFTC
The Suscoes were in Ballarat for a few days and some caching was one the list.
It was a delightful day for caching with clear skies and a breeze to keep things pleasant.
This was our 21st and last find for the day.
Well it was after 5 and time for tea.
One final find was made and all was good at GZ.
Thanks to bristlehound for placing this cache here.
Now how does Mr. S get out of here!!!!!!
Off to M. R.!!!

After a sleepover with the Junior Sistema's, neisha07 and I went caching with GemmaSistema around Creswick. We thought it was funny that we finally got to find caches that Mum hasn't found yet! TFTC!
I had a sleepover with our friends the Siemensma/Sistema boys. In the morning GemmaSistema took us out for some caching in the bush with boo09. Lots of Fun! It's not often I get to caching without Mum! TFTC
Out with dehands on another beautiful evening. Time to get more smilies on our map!
You rocked our world! This was our very first geocache, so didn't know what to expect. Thanks heaps for the fun. I think we are now hooked! Matt, Sarah, Liam, Sam, Molly and Connor.
TFTC. Quick drive by on the way out soon had us coming up trumps. Please note plastic bag containing log is ripped, have done a temp repair, but didn't have a big enough bag to fully repair.
Today was the start of our days-off that we get together once a fortnight, so it was a few quick chores at home in the morning, followed by an errand or two in Ballarat, and then ... woohoo ... lets go caching! Picked up Wozzle68 on the way through and headed up to Creswick.
We enjoyed looking at the old mining relic and the surrounding area, and the cache was easily found too. Thank you for bringing us here bristlehound.

Off to Creswick for a night with hubby and kid free so thought we would do some caching, around the area of the 2 days.
Was in the area back in Feb 2014 but very hot so didn't do much caching, a lot cooler and more pleasant to try today, thanks bristlehound for the cache.

Found with Cherad. I love this area, thanks for bringing us here. A few muggles around looking for gold. Hope they had some luck.
Staying a few days in Ballarat on our tour of Australia using Geocaching as a guide. Isn't this game SO FABULOUS!
Very windy today so a slow start for us. We started the day solving more puzzles then after lunch we finally hit the track in the GeoCruiser. We decided to target as many off road caches before the rain coming later in the week.
Proved a good decision as some spots were still very muddy and slippery. We finished our day safe but with a DNF and then managed to 'almost' get stuck in a messy mud pit. Mr Felix didn't give up and managed to get us out after a few minutes of nail biting. (Must remember the old adage, never 4x4 on your own) [B)]
A great afternoon exploring Ballarat Forests.
Thanks bristlehound for feeding our GeoAddiction!

Found after a bush walk from our campsite . Found by E, a new friend, who joined us for the walk . Great cache and Amazing relic too!
Find #453, camping nearby we wandered up for a walk to grab this cache. We were watching out for mines and on the way back to camp a friendly local had told us to have a look at a very cool deep mine, which we carefully did. We also had a look at a very old gold mining device nearby. Thanks for bringing us here. And thanks for the cache
After a cancelled game of golf here in Creswick due to the thunderstorms, decided to make the most of the drive up here to get a few smilies, and to not totally waste the day.
This was a quick find for Sorceysal this time, finally!!! LOL

On the way to Creswick for a golf game, passed thru torrential rain up the highway and could hardly see in front of us. Not looking good for golf but thought I saw some blue sky in the distance. Nope as we got closer, the lightning was getting closer and closer. Arrived at the golf course only to find that golf was cancelled due to the stormy conditions. So what to do now, cache of course.
Parked about 30 metres from GZ and yay, one for me finally. I think "about time" was mentioned but fell on deaf ears. LOL. Thanks for the cache bristlehound

Our for a spot of adventuring this afternoon in our new 4WD. Sulkybear (driver) and our two geokids (aged 3 & 5) were along for the ride. Nice easy find. Great to see the mining relics too. Left a TB for next cacher. Thanks for bringing us here. Great spot to camp or the night
Back tracked to this one and pulled up about 30m away from some campers who were not at home. They arrived just as I was leaving. Hope they didn't think I was checking out their stuff.
Made the find and did my duty. Nice and green here today.

Arrived a Creswick Regional Park campground and decided to pick up a couple of caches before settling in. This one was only about 200 metres away so off we trekked and soon had the cache in hand.
